Problem to export a report (to PDF) after converting my reports to CR13

I have an old project with reports developped using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2003 (.NET 1.1). I want to convert them so I can now use Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 (with .NET 3.5).
I installed Crystal Reports for VS2010 and I converted my reports to the new format. Unfortunately, one of my reports is not working anymore.
My ASP.NET application generate the report and export it as a PDF. I use CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Export().
Everytime I run this method, an exception is thrown...

I also tried to export the report (using PDF format) at design time with the "Export Report" button in Preview mode. It didn't work. But, I can export the report at design time using another format type (like XML).
The old version of te report (using .NET 1.1, CR9) work fine. As I said, other reports in that same project work perfectly.
Is someone have an idea of what's wrong!

The most common cause of this problem is having very large detailed images, or lots and lots of images in your report. The Crystal Report engine changed a lot from 9.1 to 13. The big change was from 9.1 to 10 though when we started using the RAS InProc engine.
The Crystal reporting engine is not efficient at handling the images and it can cause memory issues like you are seeing. As a test, try suppressing the images that show up frequently in your report and retry your export. If it works you'll have your answer and you'll need a new creative way to design your report without so many images.

Export Report to PDF after user has entered parameters

Hi All,
I have a problem exporting a report to PDF using "ReportExportControl" after a user has entered parameters, instead of showing the download prompt, it displays the report using the parameters as if it was using "CrystalReportViewer"
If I program the input fields using "ParameterFieldController" then the exporter works as expected.
Is there anything in particular needed in order to export a report with user inputted parameters?

What I am seeing at the moment is as follows
The report requires parameters from the user in order to generate the report, and a webpage asking the user to inputs is shown, the same one that is shown by "CrystalReportViewer" function, once the user has inputted the parameters they click the "OK" button and the report generates on screen, using the parameters entered, behaving like "CrystalReportViewer" function, what I need is once the user click "OK" it will prompt for download as attachment, which is not happening.
For your suggestion, I already have that coded and its still not working, Please find my code attached

Problems in exporting Urdu data to pdf through Crystal Report 2008

Hi,
We have a designed a crystal report in latest Crystal Report SP2. The database used is MS Access, the data is in Urdu langauge. The data is displayed properly on crystal report main preview.
The problem is only when we export the report to PDF there is a data loss. The content is not properly exported.
Some additional unexpected characters are also getting inserted.
But the same content is proper if we export the report into .rtf or .doc format.
I have tried this with Arial Unicode MS and C-DAC UROT-GIST Galid fonts.
Please help.

SSRS should directly upload my report to PDF after taking parameters from user

Hi
I have a client requirement where 6 paramaters are declared in a report. And these parameters are explicitly entered by user who accesses the report. After entering parameters user clicks on "View Report".
Requirement is "View Report" should directly export the report to PDF. Instead of showing it in default viewer.
Some one please help.
It is very critical and urgent requirement which I should complete.

Ok, then I hope only by using the SSRS tool we can't redirect as per your requirement. Once it is rendering only we can export to few formats.
Alternatively you can try Data Driven Subscriptions. It can directly send the PDF's. Even there is having some limitations. If your requirement is suitable within those limitations then u can use right ?

Embedding font problems (when exporting from InDesign to PDF)

A message alert is shown, when opening a pdf - after exporting from InDesign: Cannont exctract the embedded Font Frutiger.
We have uninstalled the frutiger font and installed an open type. But the font is not embedded anyhow..?

I don't know if you need help scripting this, but...........
If you can not re-create the PDF from InDesign using the OTF,
In Acrobat, highlight the text with the acrobat touch-up text tool, right click and go to properties. You should be able to assign the OTF font running on you system, and select the embed option.
If not, this is why PitStop is an indespensable (sp?) tool.

Problems in exporting a book to pdf

I seem to have a problem in exporting a book made in the book module in Lightroom 4 to pdf.
It just never seem to start converting. Any suggestions on how to solve this issue? (it is a 47 paged book)

I've already done it manually and sent it off, which wasn't hard, but I'd still like to know what my original problem was.
I have a book, bleeds all around except for the inside. I want to export to a PDF but have the pages laid out completely ready for print on a saddle stitch. I go to Print Booklet>Select "Use Document Bleed Settings. I then go to Print Settings and choose Post Script/PDF for the printer. I also check Use Bleed settings there. Other than I change nothing from the default options other than the type of binding I'm doing. Once the PDF is created using the postscript I notice that my left side is 1/16" shorter than my right.

Saving a report generated pdf file on to report server

This is a question regarding web access of Oracle Reports.

I am doing this since I want the report to be saved on the report server as a pdf file(section1.pdf). However this is generating an error.
Is there anything wrong in the parameters I am passing? Please let me know if you have inputs on this.
Also let me know where can I get some tutorial regarding web access of Oracle Reports..

Below you may find the steps to get the App:

Set the scan as Document and it will be saved as PDF.
You may also share the scanned files from the app.

Bug Report: "View PDF After Saving" Does Not Work When Saving as Photoshop PDF

The saved PDF file is not opening in Acrobat after saving a file as a Photoshop PDF. I noticed it happening a few times in earlier beta testing, but today it happened again.
I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.2 installed on MacPro with Lion OS 10.7.3. Photoshop public beta m415. System info can be provided if needed.
The file I was trying to save was about 8 MB. Once it failed to open after save, I tried varied PDF settings and save locations. Also tried several different files. All were saved properly as PDF files, but would not continue to open in Acrobat as previous versions have done. The files open properly when you click on the file names in saved location.

I'm happy I could help and feel a bit proud to have found a real bug. The simplest work around is just clicking on the file list once it's done...that's certainly not a problem.

Have the problem to export media use the queue after the latest update of Premiere and Media encoder?

After update the Premiere CC 2014 and Encoder CC 2014, I couldn't export the movie use the Queue function?
There always had a unknown error stop the process. (Compile error?)

You need to fix that first.
Export and preview in the Media Encoder and watch when it stops.
There you need to fix the timeline.
Start a new project to see if you can use AME.

Crystal report extremely slow after converting to SQL connection

We have a VB application developed in Visual Studio 2005 that references:

This application originally used ADO to connect to our SQL Server database. I recently converted to a SQL connection so I can take advantage of table-valued parameters in SQL Server 2008. After the conversion, some of our Crystal Reports now take up to 3 minutes to load, but only on some usersu2019 PCs. Prior to the change, the reports only took a matter of seconds, and they still take only a matter of seconds on my development PC. We have looked at all the settings we can think of on the slow PCs but so far have found no smoking gun. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Does anyone have any suggestions for how to find the problem?

Ah, that is why you are having problems. We had to fix CR so it would support MS SQL 2008. Not sure what version you are using but you need to install Service Pack 3 and then Fix Pack 3.5. Then CR will retain the SQLNCLI10 as it's data driver.
And what I mean is once you update CR have your report writers open each report and set location to the new DSN or old DSN with the updated 10 driver and then verify the reports and save. This will update the RPT files so the 10 client is used.
To get updated, and assuming you are on an early release the best way is to keep track of your keycode, uninstlal CR 2008 and then download CR SP 3 and FP 3.5:

How to remove the automatically recognized hyperlinks in PDF after converting from Word?

Hi everyone!
When converting Word to PDF, texts with "http", "www", or email addresses with "@" are automatically hyperlinked.
The way Adobe Acrobat recognizes URLs is not by the text's underlying hyperlinks rather it is by the actual characters in the text. If the text contains "http" or "www" it recognizes it as a URL address, if it contains "@", it recognizes it as an email address.
I am aware that you could choose to disable the hyperlinks by going to Edit - Preferences - General - untick Create links from URLs. However, other users who have this ticked will still be able to click on the hyperlinks.
In Word, you can specify whether to add a hyperlink or not, or to direct the hyperlink to a different path. But in Adobe Acrobat, it automatically recognizes the hyperlink by its text. I know it is possible to manually add a hyperlink to a PDF, but is it possible to remove the automatically recognized hyperlinks?
Is there also some sort of ADM administrative template for this purpose?

I was thinking it could be possible with a document-level script that
removes all links, but then I saw that the link Acrobat adds are not real
link objects, so a script can't remove them. Therefore I think the answer is
no, you can't do it. The only way might be to use shorter addresses in order
to confuse Acrobat into thinking they're just plain text. For example, use "
google.com" instead of "http://www.google.com/". In my tests it remained as
plain text.

Format changing when exporting from InDesign to PDF

I am using Acrobat 8 version 8.1.2, and InDesign version 5.0.2.
I am noticing a very specific problem when exporting some files to PDF from InDesign.
We often have a format where we have a numbered list of right-aligned number, followed by some text, a leader line, and then another number at the end of the line. This is set up with a left indent and a first line left indent (rather than using the numbered list options), and then the necessary tabs later in the lines.
I am finding since we switched to IDCS3, that when I export to PDF, lines containing this format change in the PDF. The text that appears after the number in the front of the line is pushed over on top of the leader line, leaving a huge white space. On rarer occasions, it will move things in lines that have no indents, but contain tabs that aren't being used.
I have been able to get the files to export correctly by removing the left indent and first-line left indent and using tabs instead (or by removing unused tabs). But we have hundreds of files set up in this manner so going in and changing how they are all set up is problematic to say the least.
Is this a known issue? Does anyone know why this might happen and how I can prevent it?

I haven't tried printing to PDF. I will try that and see what happens. Unfortunetly, where I work we are required to export to PDF rather than print to PDF, so if it works it will only be a clue for me rather than a solution.

I am using Report Builder for Windows 95/NT, I want to generate a report output to a PDF or HTML. How can I get this ouput right because everytime I am generating this output nothing comes out.

Further to Renes reply, this can either be set permanently by the developer, or passed in as a parameter, or the user can be given the option to set it in the parameter form.
Alternatively, from 6i onward the user can produce a pdf after viewing the report on the screen by choosing File > Generate to File > pdf (or html).

Export an Image to PDF from a WAD Template

I want to export the Company Logo used in the template to the PDF. But here i am not allowed to use Report Designer for that.
So can any body tell me how to export the image to PDF without using the Report Designer.

If you are using BI 7 here is what you should do.
Insert the reaquired image 'Company Logo' in the MIME repository in the system first.
1) Se80
2) MIME repository --> choose an appropriate folder to put the image (if it is company logo you can choose SAP -> BW -> Customer -> Images)
3) Remember, this will create a transport request and needs to be moved to every landscape whereever the template is accessed. It is common folder accessible to all SAP users in your system.
In WAD,
1) On the top you will find a button called 'Insert Image'
2) Give the path to the image in the MIME repository.
The source will mostly be like -> bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/Customer/Images/...Logo.gif etc.
3) For the Export to PDF, use a Button item and assign command 'Export'. Keep Web Template and Web Item default and export format - PDF.
When export button is clicked, along with all web items, your image will get exported to PDF.
