Problem to plot the graph

Hi, I am a beginner in Labview. In my exercise, I want to display the 1D data I got from excel in the waveform graph in Labview but it does not appear. Here is my what I have done so far. I have data in excel which has 16 rows and 2 column. I have used path function and also read spreadsheet function to display my table in labview and it works. In My labview front panel displaying now, I have 16 rows and 2 column of data. I want to analyse the 2nd column only so I use array subset function to extract the 2nd column. When I run my labview, the size of my array is now 16x1. I want to display this as a waveform graph so I choose 1D waveform graph. When I run it, the graph doesn't show anything. Please give me advice for this.

Previously, i change my excel data to CSV file before i applied it to the labview. Now, I am planning to change my simulation from using 'read from spreadsheet" to use the activex as shown in your VI . Im still in the very basic stage of understanding what is activex, how activex and labview works together, how to display the data in the labview table (previously in the array indicator), and also how to analyse/process the data so i will need more intensive time to learn. However, in your VI, i cannot run it because there is a mismatch particularly in Variant to data Function as shown in pict below
The thing that still make me curious until now is why i cannot plot my array of data in waveform graph. When i plot it in Chart, the plot is appear but in the graph, there is no plot. . i try to track by mark the point that might be plotted but it shows only in point 0,0. If you dont mind, can you look at my work in my attachment?. I will attach my VI, and also the data in csv format. Thanks before

Iam using a table in numbers to plot daily graph lines. If I fill a cell with a text box at say zero it plots the graph. I can't actually set the cell value until the actual day but the graph plots it at zero when I don't want it to plot anything. Is tho

The answer is (sort of) in your subject, but edited out of the problem statement in the body of your message.
When you use a stepper or a slider, the value in the cell is always numeric, and is always placed on the chart if that cell is included in the range graphed by the chart.
But if you use a pop-up menu cell, you can specify numeric or text values in the list of choices for in the menu. Numeric values will be shown on the chart. Text values will not.
For the example, the values list for the pop-up menu was:

1
Choose
-1
-3
-5
The first pop-up was set to display Choose, then the cell was filled down the rest of the column. Any text value (including a single space, if you want the cell to appear blank) may be used instead of Choose.
For charts with negative Y values, the X axis will not automatically appear at Y=0. If your value set will include negative values, I would suggest setting the Y axis maximum and minimum to the maximum and minimum values on your menu list, rather than letting Numbers decide what range to include on the chart. Place a line shape across the chart at the zero level, and choose to NOT show the X axis.

Problem With Plotting a graph

Hi,
I need help plotting a graph.
The situation is .... I have data of speed against time. Data is like this : a truck runs at some speed until 10 o clock. Now the driver changes time of the speed vs. time tracking device back to 9 o clock. Now if I plot this data it becomes a invalid graph as between 9 - 10 I will be having two values for the speed.
I thought of a solution that when ever a time change occurs I will drop the speed to 0 and again start plotting the graph with next point on the scale of x axis with the new set time ...... Is this possible ?

Here is a photo of what I want to do with the graph.
Here as the values that i am mappinng on x axis are repeated the graph is not one to one. Now to make it look like a one to one i want to drop it zero at the first 6. the restart the scale after 6 as 5 and continue mapping. Is this possible ?? ??

How to connect mysql database to labview and plot the graph

Hi all,
I am doing my final year project about labview. I need to connect my mysql workbench database to labview and plotting two sinwave in same graph. I can already connected my labview to mysql and showing the data in labview table.But I need to plot the two sinwave in on graph according to table data. Eg: table data&colon;      timestamp   wind speed wind direction

The attachemtn vi is about inserting file and plot the graph. Can anybody combine these 2 vi to polting the graph according table data not according to file data.Thanks

Would you like to collect the Event Log and App Crash dump file to do further troubleshooting?
As far as I know, if Excel crashes when using Analysis ToolPack add-ins, it usually causes by the >>Faulting module name: mso.dll<<, Please try the following method and check if it is helpful:
1.Copy/paste the Mso.dll from another PC.
2.Click "Start" and "Computer."
3.Double-click "C: Drive," "Windows" and "System32." The System32 folder opens.
4.Drag the Mso.dll file on your desktop into the System32 folder.
5.Click "Start," type "cmd" into the search field and press "Enter" to open the Command Prompt.
6.Type "regsvr32 mso.dll" (without the quotation marks) into the Command Prompt and press "Enter."
7.Close the Command Prompt and restart your computer.
Then, if the Faulting module name is not MSO.Dll, you also can upload(Or send to us via email
[email protected]) the Event Log/App Crash dump file. We'd like to do further troubleshooting.

Plotting the graph

I have a requirement to plot the graph. The required text file is attached with this message. The requirement is, the program should read the values as 30 set (first 30 then second 30 like that) and should plot in the same graph with different colors.
For example I have attached 3 set of details (totally 90 data, it might be 'n' number of sets actually). once I plot the second set of details in the graph, first set of details also should be there in the graph
Could you please provide a sample vi for this?

So i suppose the following example will help you.
I have done it for 5 , you can extend it.
This example is not for against 0-30 values.
as given in below msg, XY graph will be best.
Sorry that i did'nt noticed "against(0-30) values"

How can I take the photo by capture the photo, plot the graph(control chart) in the same times and export to Excel File

2. Save the template and ready for compare realtime with other objects

1. Use the CCTV video camera Sony capture the picture of the object (lego toys).

Problems in plotting wave in waveform graph

I am trying to plot the wave in wavefrom graph. So to plot the graph i tried to bundle the values that i am getting as per the context help of waveform graph VI. Now according to VI i should have x & delta x value in double 64 bit real format, y should be in wavform data type (y array) (as i want to plot single plot). But the values that i am having, x value in 1D array double 64 bit real format, y value in 2d array double 64 bit real format from my VI named as "Agilent 36570 lvlib.Data Coord Trans Data.vi". I got this VI by adding the driver for Agilent DSA hp 35670A. But finally when i tried to connect the wire from cluster out terminal to input terminal of graph VI its showing error. I have also attached the snapshot of my error so as to clarify my problem. So how should i get rid of this problem.

A wave form is not like plotting points on an x-y graph. A 1 dimminsion array is a waveform. But we usually want to look at the wave form over time. You have to set two additional values for the waveform. It is a start time (T0) a sample frequency (delta T) in seconds and the the sampled points of the measured signal. (1-D array of values) This will display the waveform vs the correct time . To plot 2 or more signals make the array a 2 dimension array. See attached example vi .

Including scaling information in binary file, which can be plotted in graph

I need to plot a graph from a from a bin file, I am able to plot the graph using read binary file vi but the scaling is nowhere close to what it needs to be.
Its in auto scaling mode, if I set the values manually by giving maximum and minimum values the graph disappears,
I believe it has something to do with some missing header file not included in the binary file as of now.
Can anyone help , I need to know , how to add header in the binary file so that I include the information of scales or units of measurements of the data which has to be plotted.

you include "header information" the same way as you include "data" in your binary file: You simply write that information to the file...
When trying to plot "the file" you read both parts (header and data), one after the other!

Plotting a graph in real-time without reading from a file

Hello there.
I am trying to plot a graph. I have succeeded in plotting the graph by first writing the data to a text file (.TXT), then reading from that text file.
However, I feel this method will take up a lot of memory. Thus, I was wondering whether it is possible to plot the graph directly without first writing it to a text file.

You can use a while loop with a shift register, inside the while loop, put a case structure, and in it, your data aquisition vi. When you get data, use the shift register to append data to the array, using build array (the shift register will go in as an array, and data as an element) just execute the appending state when data is present, and you'll have a real time graph.

I've actually modified the Bean and solved the problem by writing the graph to a file which can then be printed. This code goes into the FormsGraph code at around Line 1128

I have posted some messages but anyone has solved my problem. I hope that, now you help me, because I am in a urgency.
I am working only with labview 5.1 because is the only version available in my lab.
Let's go to the problem:
I am sending the vi and the screenshot of my frontal panel with some changes that I need to do.
I have a table which will be part of my graph.
Time will be aix X, Termistors (1 to 4) will be aix Y and Temperature from each termistor will be aix Z.
I need to plot the correct time of my table in aix x of my 3d graph time. How to do this??I have use properties of garph,I did many things and I am still in this problem. (Resume: how to write hours:minutes:seconds in aix X)
The second problem is that I need to plot in the graph only the points .Example: in time 12:00:00 I will have 3 points. Point 1 -indicating time,temperature for termistor 1. Point 2-indicating time,temperature for termistor 2 and etc. Point 3 -indicating time,temperature for termistor3. What I want is the blue points in garph. But now I have some lines and tis wrong.
Later i will do fitting for each time with the points i got.
Please help me !!

I went through your previous posts, and I found that a few others desperately tried to help you, without much success. Ben has very accurately described what to you should do. I think that nobody here can do much more for you, since the solution to your problem has been given so many times.
However, I'll do one last attempt. This is about the time formatting of the X axis. Apparently, your problem comes from the fact that while everybody tells you to pass the time as a day numeric value, you are still trying to pass it as a string ! This comes from the fact that you retrieve your time value from the Get Time/Date String function, which is nice when one has to display the time, but not when one has to do some calculation or to plot the value. You should have noticed that there is another function that returns the time as seconds. Since time zero is in january 1904, the proper way to use this function is to read the time in second when your measurements are started, then to subtract the obtained value from all the readings. Then do what you have been told : convert it into fractionnal days by dividing by 24 and 3600. Then your plot will display the time starting at 00:00:00.
A few more words. I think your main problem is that you do not listen to the answers that others are giving you. You are just expecting somebody to come with a ready to use solution that fits exactly your needs. And even when this happens, you don't see it !!! Unless you come back with a convincing proof that you are really trying to understand what you are doing, and having a personal input in this, I'm afraid that you will not get any further help.

Problem with the number format in the graph axis with Report Generation Toolkit.

I'm trying to use the Report Generation Toolkit to plot some graphs in Excel.
My first problem is that I don't know how to configure the number format in the Excel Set Graph Font.vi so that my numbers are correctly displayed in the graph's axis. The only given option is general (0,0) but this is not enough for me, my numbers can get really small so I need engineering notation or fraccional format.
Second: I also insert a table with the graph source data, but the numbers are not correctly displayed either: for example:
0,75 is shown as:
0,750000
but 1,25 is shown as:
1!250!000
My guess is I am making to much or wrong string to number conversions or Excel is getting it wrong but I can't find my way...
Can someone help me with this?

I think what you want is a 3D plot of a cylinder. I have attached an example using a parametric 3D plot.
You will probably want to duplicate the points for the first theta value to close the cylinder. I'm not sure what properties of the graph can be manipulated to make it easier to see.

Why the graph in Labview does not plot when there is a different set of data collected

Hi everyone,
I need help from you guys as I faced a problem with my Labview program. Actually, what I am trying to do with the labview program is that I will be collecting data of different days and use them to plot graphs according to the date that i have set in my program. However, my graph fails to plot whenever there is a change in date, it remains at the first graph that is being plot at the start of the program. I have tried to look through the whole process and found out that actually the execution of my graph in the program is not completed which might cause this program. Therefore, I hope that you guys can help by taking looking through my program which has been attached and tell me the solutions if any! I really appreciate your help! It is a winrar file, extract them and open the AMK_solar monitoring system(stack).vi

Why do you feed "2358" to FormatDateTimeString? The result will be "2358" - so no formatting function needed...

Found deep in your subVIs. You can work on timestamps as numbers, no conversion to/from string needed...
This contains 3 unneccessary locals and a race condition resulting from overuse of locals...

Which graph? There are a lot of it...
Don't you read new data (correctly)? Is the data arriving in the correct wires?
