Problem uploading using Dreamweaver

After uploading my website http://www.apparrayworld.com to Godaddy, the uploaded files did not go into the root directory. Eventually I solved this problem by specifying the root directory, however, I don't think specifying the root directory is the correct way to upload files to Godaddy, but I hope I'm wrong. Can someone put my mind at ease and let me know if this is a problem or not. Could this be a problem with Dreamweaver or should I contact Godaddy.

Actually, you do need to specify the root directory... in your site definition.
When you set your FTP credentials for your site in DW, you need to put the public_html or htdocs folder in the Remote Server Root Directory field while also ensuring you DO NOT have that folder in your local files.
In DW you're transferring only the contents of the local root (whatever you named your site folder) to the server root (public_html or htdocs for GoDaddy depending on the server type) not the actual root folder itself.

    Greeting to you all!
Please I need you PRO help. My case seem similar to some of the ones I have seen but my code is completely different.
I wrote this code below using PHP in Dreamweaver and its used to upload images to MySQl database. Now when I upload about 6 images, it shows File Uploaded Successfully. But if I try to upload any thing below 6 images, it will refuse to upload and will echo Upload Failed.

    Hi Bregent,
I have been able to resolve the issue. I modified the code this way: This I believe will help those having the same issues.
These is how I was able to achieve it.
    1. I divided the code into two parts called addnew.php and addnewproject.php.
The addnewproject.php as seen below will call the addnew.php when the submit button on addnewproject.php is clicked

The addnew.php will now execute and add the data and image file names and path to MySQL database and upload the images to their various locations. it will also check the image file size be sure its not more than 100kb and must really be an iamge with format .jpg, .png and .gif.

  • Swf site uploading using dreamweaver

I made a site using indesign and saved it as .swf but i don't know how to upload this. It doesnt open in dreamweaver and i inserted and tried different things,
but it doesnt work and i don't know how.
Does anyone know how to upload this kind of document in dreamweaver

    It doesnt open in dreamweaver
Right - DW doesn't edit SWF files.  Here's what to do:
In DW, create a site by defining a local folder that will contain the SWF file
Then define a remote location for that site by entering the host name, the user ID and password, and the name of the root directory of the remote site (usually public_html, or httpd, or www)
Using the connect button on the Files panel, make an FTP connection with this remote site, and drag and drop the SWF file onto the folder where you want it to be accessed
That should do what you want.

I can't upload my website through Rage SEO tools on my home router anymore. Has anyone else had this problem or know what might be causing it? I've tried to reset my router and did nae work

Try using another FTP application to see if the problem is with your internet connection or with SEO Tool...

  • Steps of adding file uploader in dreamweaver 8.

Hi, I have made a form in php that sends information to the server. I want the form to send files in PDF and word as well. Could someone direct me to steps of adding the file uploader using Dreamweaver 8?

You would need to be pretty skillful in PHP to accomplish this - if you are, then I suggest you just Google "PHP file upload". If you are not, then you would need to look for an uploader extension - start at http://www.dmxzone.com for the best.
By the way, you know how decrepit DW8 is, right?

  • Problem Uploading Dreamweaver Template

    Hi,
I am using Dreamweaver 8, and decided to revise my website
using a Dreamweaver template. The pages look GREAT when I preview
them in Firefox or IE. But when I uploaded the home page, using an
FTP program, the page looked like a mess! None of the columns in
the template were there. The formatting is all wrong, and the links
don't work! This page is horrible! I don't understand since they
looked great in the preview. Can somebody tell me what I've done
    wrong?
If you'd like to view the mess, it's at
    http://www.karathecomputertutor.com
    Thanks!

    > If you'd like to view the mess, it's at
    http://www.karathecomputertutor.com
    > Thanks!
there's a problem with the way you've defined this site in
    dreamweaver.
the link you gave is at the root level of the public hosting
    for that
    domain.
    but the css link is:
    <link rel="stylesheet"
    href="../karathecomputertutor4.1/3col_leftNav.css
and the links farther down in the page also are "../
that means go up one folder level.
there is no up from the root level.
The site needs to be defined so that the "homepage" file,
    index.html is at
the root level of what you've picked for the Local Site
    Folder.
and, all the site files need to be in the Local Site Folder
    of course.
and, the remote has to show the public level, with the
    index.html file in
the root (use the "Host Directory" line in dw if your files
    need to go into
a folder like "public_html" or "www" for example)

  • Problem uploading files from Dreamweaver CS3 to Yahoo

I am having a problem uploading files from Dreamweaver CS3 to
    an FTP site on Yahoo.
The error message I get is "No response from server.
    Reconnecting..."
I am able to connect to Yahoo using other FTP clients
    successfully.
I am able to connect to Yahoo using Dreamweaver MX 2004
    successfully.
I tried playing with various settings (i.e. passive ftp,
server compatibility options) but to no avail.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Steven

I tried enabling passive FTP but it doesn't help.

  • Have problems uploading Edge  with dreamweaver to server.

I'm having problems uploading edge in dreamweaver to my server. It shows off line and when i check in all browsers. When I upload to server, it doesn't show in page. Is there a tutorial that would show me how to upload it to server?

  • How do I upload a finished website to Business Catalyst using Dreamweaver?

I've finished building a website that I want to publish on Business Catalyst for my client. I'm using Dreamweaver CC. There is an option for creating a new BC website, but I can't find a way to upload a finished site like I was able to in the older versions of Dreamweaver. Am I missing something?

A workaround that's available that involves a few steps.
    1. Print a network configuration page to get the printers host name.
    a. press the wrench in top right hand corner
    b. Select the wireless menu
    c. Scroll and select network configuration.
    d. Print network configuration page.
    2. Select start menu
    a. Go to my computer.
    b. At the top of the page select map network drive.
    c. In the drive box select a available drive letter.
    d. In the Path or Folder text box, type the following:
    \\ insert host name here\Memory_Card
example on how it should look. \\HP7A5319\memory_card
    Select finish after entering information.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Unable to upload files using Dreamweaver Ultra Dev 4 (Was: Trying to upload files.)

My service provider has recently updated and now I can no longer upload to my site using my antequated but easy to use Dreamweaver Ultra Dev 4.
I am trialling the current Dreamweaver, but of course it is massively different!  I've just tried uploading a file, and although it seemed to go OK, no error
messages etc - it's not made it onto my internet site. Any suggestions please?

First define your site in DW.  Go to Site > New Site or Manage Sites.  See Screenshots.
Servers:  Enter your remote server's log-in credentials.  Root Directory is whatever your hosting provider told you to use.  This varies by web host and could be public_html, htdocs, www or none at all.  If unsure, contact your host.
Hit the Test button to see if you can connect to your server.  If not, click on More Options.

  • New Muse pages won't upload when using Dreamweaver

I create new pages in a existing Muse website and upload through Dreamweaver, like I always have. Then I get this error. The pages are fine when previewing them in my browser or even on a business catalyst site.
File Transfer failed due to following reasons:
    - Internal data error, possibly because of failure to start the upload.
    - Access denied.  The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.   Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured.

As per the error message , have you checked the permission set for users from site backend ? It may also link to some glitch at that specific time on BC DC.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

I have a website for my artwork.  I had a PC and. Now an iMAC.  I've used Dreamweaver to update the website.  I used to go to Filezilla on the PC a upload the updated pages which would then show updated on the internet.  What file like FileZilla should I use?

    You can download it here:
    https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1
Click the Source Forge link - make sure you reject offers for any other software during the installation, Source Forge usually will ask you to install other stuff in addition to what you want (Filezilla).
    It works well on Mac.
Dreamweaver also has built-in FTP functionality if you want to check that out.

  • Problems previewing all my sites using Dreamweaver 8 both CF and html.

I have restored my hard drive (from a previous Ghost image)
and now encounter problems previewing all my sites using
Dreamweaver 8 both CF and html.
If I preview (using localhost:8500) I get the message "Unable
to connect, Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at
    localhost:8500." IE has similar message.
    If I preview (using 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost:8500) I
get the page but no images or CSS loads.
    An address such as:
    http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/gettingstarted/experience/index_content.cfm
loads just fine - seems CF is working okay.
All the sites used for testing locally have been used for
some time (years) and work on my unrestored drive.
My thoughts: after I restored my hard drive image I installed
both Norton Antivirus 2007 and resintalled ZoneAlarm. I uninstalled
both of the programs but the problem remains.
Any help is much appreciated. I have spent the last two days
trying to get this to work and as many of you can identify with...I
    am supposed to be working....!

    Hi,
JSF 1.1 doesn't coexist nicely with HTML components.
So if your goal is to build layouts in HTML then this
will not produce the result you want
Skins in 10.1.3 are slightly different than in 11
(selectors may have changed their names). If you need
to specify the class property to make skins work then
this indicates that the skin selectors you use are
    not the correct ones.
    FrankHi Frank,
thank you for your help, I'm replacing every html component with adf one, panelGroup, panelHorizontal, panelBorder, objectImage etc... etc... but I have a problem...
I need to put an object component about Macromedia Flash and I cannot find any adf component to replace it. Any idea please?
    Thank you again.
    Ciao.

  • Uploading using Adobe Premiere Elements 12 Network problems

    Hi,
Is there a place in Adobe Premiere Elements 12 that we can insert our company proxy details, the reason being. When I go to Publish and Share and click "Social Websites" and want to upload a video to youtube and push next it gives the following error "Online Services encountered an error. The services will be terminated or paused if possible."
If I use a 3G card it allows us to upload. Our network must be blocking this link or programme, yet we have made sure from our side adobe is not blocked on the network and I have access to all websites.
My question is can we insert proxy details somewhere or can I get the link of where that link is taking us to when pushing next trying to upload with youtube via adobe . I know it is going to youtube but I need the exact URL to make sure we allow this link to work.
Anyone have the answer for me?

    MaudeSt
This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. For network problems when using the current version which is now Premiere Elements 12, please contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat.
Click on the following link, and then find and click on Chat Panel to discuss
    Premiere Elements

    Chat Panel
    Contact Customer Care
I have set the web page to the Chat Panel level. If it does not hold the setting, then you will need to navigate to Adobe Chat using the topics
above as guidelines. If you end up seeing only Ask the Community instead of Chat Panel, then try again later. Chat has been having in times
when it is unavailable due to updating. It is an on and off situation lately. Chat has the option to do remote control of your computer for
    troubleshooting purposes. We do not.
At the moment that I am hitting the "Add Reply" for this post, only Ask the Community option is being displayed at the Adobe Chat contact link.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.
