Steps of adding file uploader in dreamweaver 8.
Hi, I have made a form in php that sends information to the server. I want the form to send files in PDF and word as well. Could someone direct me to steps of adding the file uploader using Dreamweaver 8?
You would need to be pretty skillful in PHP to accomplish this - if you are, then I suggest you just Google "PHP file upload". If you are not, then you would need to look for an uploader extension - start at http://www.dmxzone.com for the best.
By the way, you know how decrepit DW8 is, right?

Error in image file upload using dreamweaver

Please I need you PRO help. My case seem similar to some of the ones I have seen but my code is completely different.
I wrote this code below using PHP in Dreamweaver and its used to upload images to MySQl database. Now when I upload about 6 images, it shows File Uploaded Successfully. But if I try to upload any thing below 6 images, it will refuse to upload and will echo Upload Failed.

I see the problem to come from the echo but I am stock and dont know how to correct it. Can any one please help me.

I have been able to resolve the issue. I modified the code this way: This I believe will help those having the same issues.
These is how I was able to achieve it.
1. I divided the code into two parts called addnew.php and addnewproject.php.
The addnewproject.php as seen below will call the addnew.php when the submit button on addnewproject.php is clicked

The addnew.php will now execute and add the data and image file names and path to MySQL database and upload the images to their various locations. it will also check the image file size be sure its not more than 100kb and must really be an iamge with format .jpg, .png and .gif.

Problem using File upload in portlets
hello there
I'm trying to use file upload component in one of my portlets. I searched a lot about a working component to be used in portlets since the standard one that comes with JSC doesn't work in portlets. I managed to get commons file upload and tomahawk to run in my portlet, but when I choose a file and try to get selected file's details it throughs a NullPointerException reporting that the file object is null.
so please can anyone guide me to a working portlet example, I tried to find one but I couldn't. if that's hard to find, what should I do ?

Problems with File Upload Example
Hi,
I follwed all the steps as in File Upload Example, still I am getting this exception,
Exception occured in J2EEC Phase
com.sun.enterprise.deployment.backend.IASDeploymentException: Deployment Error -- Error loading deployment descriptors for _linnfdb -- There is no web component by the name of uploadFile here.
Has any one got a clue???????????

File upload component and text area issue
Hi guys,
I have static text, text area and button on the same page. Text area binded to session bean value and all works fine (I can input text into text area and press button to save changes).
After adding file upload component to the same page I have got a problem - now after page refreshing the non english characters inside text gets trashed.
Other non english characters - inside static text components remains the same - the problem relates only to text area.
It looks like file upload component code has an encoding related bug. Is that a known issue?
And may be somebody have a workaround?

ADDT file upload server behavior / file ownership on server
When using the ADDT file upload server behavior, I found out that the files stored on my server have the ownership "www-data www-data", where other files uploaded (with Dreamweaver or a FTP client) have the ownership "[mydomain] www-data.
This means I cannot manipulate these ADDT uploaded files with a FTP client like Filezilla or in the Dreamweaver file window, because I then get an error message saying I don't have the required permission for that operation (eg delete the file).
Any clue on how to solve this problem?

ErikYou can also check with your host if they are running suexec. If they are you can possibly use a PHP-CGI wrapper in your script to have it create files/folders with the right permissions. It's more about the ownership of the php interpreter. Surprising though as I never seen ADDT have this kind of issue. I have seen this issue several times in hand written scripts by me where I don't do a lot of pre-checking.

Steps to prepare and upload excel files data to r/3?

We have brand new installed ECC system somehow configured but with no master or transaction data loaded .It is new empty system....We also have some legacy data in excel files...We want to start loading some data into the SAP sandbox step by step and to see how they work...test some transactions see if the loaded data are good etc initial tests.
Few questions here are raised:
-Can someone tell me what is the process of loading this data into SAP system?
-Should this excel file must me reworked prepared somehow(fields, columns etc) in order to be ready for upload to SAP??
-Users asked me how to prepared their legacy excel files so they can be ready in SAP format for upload.?Is this an abaper job or it is a functional guy job?
-Or should the excel files be converted to .txt files and then imported to SAP?Does it really make some difference if files are in excel or .txt format?
-Should the Abaper determine the structure of those excel file(to be ready for upload ) and if yes, what are the technical rules here ?
-What tools should be used for this initial data loads? CATT , Lsmw , batch input or something else?
-At which point we should test the data?I guess after the initial load?
-What tools are used in all steps before...
-If someone can provide me with step by step scenario or guide of loading some kind of initial master data - from .xls file alignment to the real upload - this will be great..

JonDepends on data we upload the data from file to R/3 .
If it is regular updation then we used to get the data from application server files to R/3 since local file updation we can not set up background processing..
If it is master data upload and that to one time upload then we use presenation server files to SAP R/3..

I'm going to make a full version of an application, but I would really like a way to upload resumes and CV's.

adding files to my site folder. The files are called by
eight-character/digit names and have no file extension. Why is it
happening and what can I do to stop it?!!!

Image / file upload error cannot upload image even after setting write permissions

I am having this problem when I try to upload a file (image file) to my server
I have a dynamic for working fine , all the other fields insert the information ok then I try to add an image upload behaviour to a file field
When I try to upload the file I get this error
Error:
An error occurred while inserting the records.
File upload error: File upload error. Error creating folder..
File upload error. Internal error.
Developer Details:

So I login to my server and change the write permissions to 777 and then try again and get the same message
I have closed DW and tried again and still get the same message......
I think I have followed all the steps correctly..... I have done the same type of forms many time and tested them locally on WAMP testing server and all work ok......
So..... Anyone got any ideas

My backend is only for admin, so they are the only ones who can access the
upload pages. My concern is an images folder on the site being 777. Can't
anyone from the outside plant a file in that folder if they just know where
to find it using an ftp program? ? -

I am not all that good at javascript so I assume something here is off and I am just missing it.
One other note: Is it possible to use my style of buttons and not an image (I would like the hover effect that I use on the buttons to apply to that one as well.) But not sure how this can be done or if it is possible.

What that's telling you is that you're adding a value to a
variable that
doesn't yet exist. In your case, it probably doesn't matter,
but using
undefined variables is a potential security risk. To
eliminate the
warning - and the risk - declare $file_list before using it:

Differentiate file uploaded from explorer view in SharePoint
Hello,
I am working on event receiver which on item adding updates few fields of document in library if those are not empty. The code is working fine in new file, drag and drop but in explorer view, I am not getting afterproperties values except two default field
values (vti_parserversion and vti_filesize). But in updating event we are getting those values.
Is there any way to differentiate file uploaded using explorer view in event receiver? So that I can work on updating in case of explorer view.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to differentiate file uploaded from explorer view in SharePoint 2013.
I made a test in my environment, both the two ways(“new document” or “Open with explorer” ) to upload document, the AfterProperties only contains two default field values(vti_parserversion and vti_filesize) in
ItemAdding method in event receiver.
There are two steps occur when uploading a file to document library, the file is uploaded in the first step, then the list item properties will be modified in the second step.
So, it is recommended to update the fields of document in ItemUpdating
method in event receiver.

Novell File Upload extension not Installing
I am trying to install the Novell File Upload extension so I can upload my PE file. It will not let me install the plugin in IE or Firefox. I have tried Firefox 22 and IE 8. I have tried from an XP, Win7 and 2003 server. I have tried all of the Active X switches in IE and I have tried the adding the about:config entries in Firefox.
