Problem Web Agent IIS5.0 in win2k

Hi All,
I have installed Web Agent for IIS5.0 in a win2k system.
I have edited the amagent.properties file so that it enforces polices from the Identity server.
When i try to access a web resource protected by the web agent , it dosen't seem to work on the basis of policies mentioned in the identity server.
Also the log gives out an error like this.....
2003-11-10 13:56:22.661 Error 1532:00C62840 PolicyEngine: am_policy_evaluate: InternalException in Service::getPolicyResult with error message:Policy not found for resource: http://xyz.example.com:58080/ssoapptest and code:7
2003-11-10 13:56:22.671 Error 1532:00C62840 PolicyEngine: am_policy_evaluate: InternalException in Service::getPolicyResult with error message:Policy not found for resource: http://xyz.example.com:58080/ssoapptest/ and code:7
Help me out in solving this problem.
Also kindly explain how SSO functions here in accessing the application.

Hi Sriram
I haven't such any documentation for sun one web server 6.1. Actually i followed the SM Web agent installation doc for iPlanet web server.
Morover i tried to configure Sun one web server 6.1 with SM web agent also but got the same error as with web server 7.0.
I have seen in this forum only that we can configure SM web agent with Sun one web server 6.1 But any special step needed or version incompatibility that i want to check.
For your referrence u can check this forum which states that SM web agent can configure with web server 6.1

  • InterMedia Web Agent problems...

I have Oracle 8.1.5 and OAS 4.0.8 on an NT machine. I have installed interMedia Web Agent, having shut the OAS services down first, configured the application as described in the doc and restarted all services. I have one listener for OAS on port 90. When I try to access http://servername:90/intermedia/~admin I get a 'Page cannot be displayed' error. Why?
I have checked all the settings within OAS and they look fine. NT is running SP5. I can access http://servername:90/ fine.
    Any help gratefully received!
    Lee

The interMedia web agent is installed in the
OAS home and you can see the intermedia application and cartridge in the OAS admin page?
Have you checked the OAS wrb.log file? That is where errors should be displayed. If it is a web agent problem, check <windows_dir>wsclstch.err or log files in <OAS_HOME>/ord/web/logs.
What do they say about starting the agent?
    Test the agent with http://host:port/intermedia/~test

    Hi,
The problem here is that the web agent has to be installed into the same Oracle home as Oracle HTTP Server/Oracle Portal. Unfortunately, this was omitted from the web agent's installation README. (This has just been fixed and the new version has just been replaced on OTN.) To get the web agent up and running, de-install it from the Oracle8i home and re-install it into the Oracle HTTP Server/Oracle Portal home.
Sorry about the README, hopefully this will get you going.

  • Web agent

    Hey there,
I'm new to intermedia, but I have managed to get it installed, uploaded some images using the clipboard and I'm even able to view them...my question is when I create the web agent, does that user have to have DBA priviledges?? When I use a user that has DBA granted to it, I don't have problems...when I try to change to a user w/ lesser permissions...it doesn't work. Is there a reason for this?
    null

    Hi,
What error are you seeing, and what operation are you trying to perform when things do go wrong? (In all the work I've done on the Web Agent, I don't think I've ever specified a user that DID have DBA privs!!) Just for interest, have you tried firing up the Clipboard against a simple table created in scott/tiger [eg, create table images(id number, image ordsys.ordimage);]?

  • The Web Agent for Apache not working

Any chances to put the last version of Web Agent (im8154) working with Apache in Linux?
I4m using a Red Hat 6.2 system with Apache 1.3.12 and I compile the web agent without errors. In the some box I use php40 with Apache and I connect and use my Oracle database in another machine without problem.
All the enviroment is set (ORACLE_HOME, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, PATH) and I even put the Apache user running as oracle.dba
The problem is always the some: the Apache don4t find any page (404 in the log) in the /intermedia path. It4s seems that dont fire the web agent module that is compiled (I confirm with httpd -l) into. I can put anything in the httpd.conf in the Intermedia Location section that the symtom is the same: no errors, no logs in ORACLE_HOME/ord/web/log or in the /tmp, nothing at all. Just "Page not Found". But the others Location sections are working like the server-status.
    Any ideias people?

  • Web Agent and Clip Board set up for multi user environment

    Hi
    Our environment is
    Database: 0racle8.1.5 on Sun Solaris
Currently we are not using OAS but a portal server and Apache
Intermedia Web Agent and Clip Board are working fine.
    The questions are
    1. if there are multiple users (content managers) who would be adding /modifying content in the database, the how can I go about with Clip board.
2.The requirement is these people should be able to search documents on the basis of keywords. So how do we integrate Intermedia query capabilities on this clip board interface.
    3. For production level how do we go about implementing.
Should we continue to have the ctxsys user and use that itself.

  • Intermedia web agent for IIS - crashes from time to time

    Hi,
We have Intermedia images in a table on our Oracle 8.1.6 Database.
We have a web server (Running IIS 4) and a database server, both running on NT 4 and on two seperated computer but in the same LAN.
We have installed the Intermedia web agent for IIS and it usually works fine, but every 3 days or so it crashes. On the "ISAPI filters" form of the IIS a red "down arrow" is shown next to the intermedia's DLL.
I click on "edit", "apply" and "ok" and then I restart the IIS. The filter starts to function again like nothing happened.
Do you have any idea why it happens?
This is critical because we can not go "production" without making sure this thing works without crashed.
    Thanks,
    Lior King,
    Internet Dept. manager.

I don't know from the screenshots.  Is there anything in your log files?  /var/log/* that corresponds to the time of the crash?
Have you considered that it is a hardware problem?  Try running memtest86+ to see if it's bad memory.  Check for SMART errors on your filesystems with smartmontools.

  • The Web Agent for IIS will not work

    Environment: NT4 Server, IIS4
I try to install the Web Agent in use with IIS but IIS fails to load the dll. After the installation I can read the event-log :
The HTTP server was unable to load the ISAPI Application 'C:\Oracle\Ora81\ord\web\bin\wsciis81.dll'. The data is the error.
    And the Browser gives me:
A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.
    What can be wrong?

Note: On Windows NT, use \ instead of / to separate file system directory
    paths.
    1. Check the Web Agent's log file.
Look in <oracle_home>/ord/web/logs for a log file in the form
wsc_<yyyymmdd>_<pid>.log. If the file exists, review it for errors,
then take the necessary action to remedy the problem. Possible
problems that might be logged are non-recoverable errors in the Web
Agent's configuration file <oracle_home>/ord/web/admin/wsc.cfg. If the
configuration file or the <oracle_home>/ord/web directory hierarchy
doesn't exist, then re-do the installation.
    2. Check the Web Agent's "last-chance" error log file.
If the <oracle_home>/ord/web/logs directory exists, but there are no
log files, check in the %SystemRoot% directory on Windows NT or the
/tmp directory on Unix for a file named wsclstch.err. This is the Web
Agent's "last-chance" error log file. The Web Agent will try to write
to this file if it encounters a fundamental startup error, such as a
problem initializing CORE or NLS, creating a log file, or opening its
message file. If the file exists, review it for errors, then take the
necessary action to remedy the problem. (In a command window on
Windows NT, type set SystemRoot to find where the wsclstch.err file
    would be written.)
    3. Check the web server configuration.
If the Web Agent failed to create either its normal log file or its
"last-chance" error log file, verify that the Web Agent has been
configured correctly for the particular web server being used and that
    the web server is running.
    o Microsoft IIS
Use the Internet Service Manager to verify that IIS has been
configured correctly for the Web Agent. Review the installation
and configuration instructions in the wsciis.html or wsciis.txt
files to verify that the Web Agent has been configured correctly
and to make any changes or fixes necessary. Check that the filter
is up and running and that the virtual path has been configured.
To check the filter, select the web site, then click the
properties button (or right-click the web site icon). Select the
Filters tab. The Web Agent should appear in the list with a green
up-arrow. If it appears with a red down-arrow, check the Windows
NT event log for any errors relating to the Web Agent. IIS
doesn't always write detailed error messages. For example, if a
DLL used by the Web Agent can't be located, then IIS typically
logs the fact that a load error occurred along with the message
"the data was the error". Note that the installation and
configuration instructions describe the case where the filter
must be installed manually if there were no existing filters
registered at the time the Web Agent for IIS was installed.
If the filter looks OK, check the oracle_intermedia_bin virtual
path by clicking the properties button (or right-click the
virtual path icon). The path should reference the
<oracle-home>\ord\web\bin directory, which should contain the
wsciis81.dll file. In the properties window, select the directory
security tab, then click the anonymous access and authentication
control button. Verify that Basic authentication has been checked
and that Windows NT challenge/response has been cleared.
To function correctly, the Oracle8i home must be specified
correctly for IIS. Use the Oracle Home Selector to verify that
the Oracle8i home is specified as the default home. Use the
System Control Panel to verify that the Oracle8i home /bin
directory is specified prior to any other Oracle homes in the
    PATH environment variable.

  • Web Agent - MEDIAPUT ORA-3113

    Hi,
I'm running an 8.1.6 db and using WebAgent on Redhat 6.1.
I have a running application to upload files into blob columns that usually works well except that from time to time the following error message appears:
    "Oracle interMedia Web Agent
An error occurred processing your MEDIAGET or MEDIAPUT request
Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-03113"
I have no idea why I'm getting this error, if I refresh the page then I get the normal MEDIAPUT succeeded message and the document is loaded.
This is a little disconcerting for my end-users. Does anyone know what is causing this error or where to start looking?
    Many Thanks.
    Niall.

    Hi Niall,
Unfortunately, the fact that you're not seeing any trace files or
anything in the alert log isn't giving us much to go on. I'll answer
your questions first, then list some ideas at the end.
The error message you are seeing, "MWM-00608: error executing a SQL
statement", indicates that the Web Agent really is executing a
statement - its pretty specific about what its doing when it has to
write an error message. For example, if the error were occuring when
it was trying to connect to the server or start a new database
session, then you'd see something like "MWM-00546: OCI error attaching
to database server using service name '%s'" or "MWM-00548: OCI error
beginning database session using service name '%s'".
Are there any delay / timeout parameters that should be examined or
changed ?The Web Agent doesn't use any timers. It simply issues calls to OCI and
    waits for the response.
Does the Web Agnet try to keep it's connection alive from the previous
upload ?Yes it does. For database agents defined with a fixed user name and
password, the Web Agent keeps both the server connection and database
session active for use in subsequest requests. For database agents
that do not specify a password, the Web Agent keeps only the server
connection active between requests. It does this to avoid the overhead
of creating a new server connection/database session for every
request, something which would result in a noticeable in servicing
    requests.
The fact that the MEDIAPUT request works immediately after the error
(upon page refresh) makes me wonder if the server process is not
coming up fast enough for the Web Agent? A page refresh should result in the browser resending the same request
to the web server. When the web agent gets the request, it will simply
create a new server connection/database session with which to execute
the necessary SQL. That is, assuming the request goes to the same
process. If it goes to a different process, then there may already be
an existing connection that can be used, or a new connection may be
    created.
Here are some thoughts as to what might be causing the problem, plus
some suggestions where I can make any:
    1. The database is being shutdown and restarted without restarting the
web agent and/or web server. This will cause the error you are
seeing, because the Web Agent doesn't know the database has gone
down and will try to use existing sessions when new requests
    arrive.
If you're using Apache, then you'll need to restart Apache in order
to restart the Web Agent. If you're using iPlanet Web Server in
single-process mode, then you can use the Web Agent's on-line admin
interface to reload the configuration, which will cause the Web
Agent to shutdown any existing database sessions and server
connections, then re-read the configuration file. As new requests
are received, new connections will be established.
    2. Individual database sessions are being killed by something and/or
someone. Although some documentation I read says that clients
should get an ORA-00028 error message, when I tried it, I got
ORA-03113. I didn't see anything in my alert log when I was trying
it, but there may be settings you can use to enable the logging of
    such actions.
    3. Individual TCP/IP network connections are being killed by something
and/or someone. I don't know how you're web server and database
server are configured, or what transport they're using, but this
sort of thing will result in the error you are seeing.
    4. There's some sort of bug in the 8.1.6 server on Linux which results
in the server consuming virtual memory or some other resource to the
point that when the resource runs out, it doesn't have enough resource
to write a trace dump file.
If this is happening, then its going to be a case for the support
folks to look at. One possible way of proving this would be to
periodically restart the web server or reload the Web Agent
configuration, so re-initializing all the connections.
Some other questions that may or may not have a bearing on the issue.
    - How often does this occur? Once a day, once a week, or multiple
times per day to different users?
    - Which web server are you using?
    - Does it always happen to the empentblobs.empent_doc procedure or
    do other procedures experience problems?
    - What does the empentblobs.empent_doc procedure do, and can it be
simplified in any way to narrow down the problem?
That's all I can think of for now. Please let us know if any of this
helps, or at least helps to point in the right directory.

    Simon

I get the following errors when trying to use the SQL query in the Web Agent URl
    What's the problem?
    The URL is: http://nandeep/intermedia/kewlminds/mediaget/?ord_sql=select+t.id+from+image+t+where+t.id%3d1
The page display the message as
"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    The error is as follows:

    ID number(10) primary key
    title varchar2(100),
    image ordsys.ordimage
the application works fine with Clipboard though
Can anyone also let me know where I can get some detailed documentation regarding passing SQL queries a s a string to Web Agent?
It would be of great help if I can get some reply ASAP
    thank you

    Hi,
To use a SQL SELECT statement instead of a PL/SQL procedure, you must use the same reserved names for items in the select list as would be used for parameter names in a PL/SQL procedure. Try the following:
    select t.image.getcontent() ord_content_blob,
    t.image.getcontentlength() ord_content_length,
    t.image.getmimetype() ord_content_type
    from images t where t.id=1
    Or as a query-string parameter:
    ?ord_sql=select+t.image.getcontent()+ord_content_blob,t.image.getcontentlength()+ord_content_length,t.image.getmimetype()+ord_content_type+from+images+t+where+t.id%3d1
    Hope this helps,
    Simon

    Hi, thanks for your reply.
Actually my setting for Crystal Report Viewer in Infoview is Advanced DHTML Viewer.
I've tried to switch between Advanced DHTML viewer and normal DHTML viewer but everything is OK in Infoview.
I suspect if I need more than just calling LogonEx in my ASP.NET code for this case, but I have no reference.
Everything is fine for static and dynamic (non cascading) reports in my web.
Do you have any suggestion for this problem?

  • 9i Web Agent Error when displaying Java Table/Graph

    Hi,
I am in the process of upgrading a Express 6.3.4 Web Agent database app to 9i.
I have been able to import the databases correctly, under the OOWAAPP schema.
On my app when ever I go to a page to display a Java Table I get the following error:
oracle.olap.webAgent.express.OWAException: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML//EN"><HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Oracle OLAP Web Agent</TITLE></HEAD><BODY bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><P><img src="/oowa-install/sample/wabanner.gif" alt="Oracle OLAP Web Agent"></p><P><STRONG>An error occurred in the Oracle OLAP Web Agent</STRONG></p><STRONG>ORA-33272: (DBERR06) Analytic workspace IADSSDEMO.OOWASEL cannot be opened.

The UserID I am logged in as is IADSSDEMO. While the AW are in the OOWA schema, I have forced them to use a tablspace of IADSS.
The Page has some option/selectors followed by a java table.
    Any ideas?
