Problem when switching from https to http on Safari
I am using a Safari browser and try to switch from https to http within the same web application.
The Safari browser is configured so that on Safari->Preferences->Security the check box "Ask before sending a non-secure form to a secure website" is checked.
When using the Safari browser in my web application and going from an https page to an http page, the browser shows an (expected) dialog box asking the user whether he wants to send a non secure form. Clicking Ok (twice) causes the following problematic dialog box to appear :
Safari can't open the specified address;
Safari can't open "(null)" because Mac OS X doesn't
recognise Internet addresses starting with "(null)"
How can I avoid this problem without having to uncheck the above mentioned check box in Safari->Preferences->security.
I have somehow a similar problem,too. My site is in https upon login which maintains some session data. One of the features of my site is the file upload (servlet) which does some batch processing. Since my https session terminates(timeout)upon uploading, I resorted to switching the link to an http session using
File Upload
When I do "session.getAttribute('data')" in my servlet after being called by the "upload.jsp", a NullPointerException is thrown at that particular line.
My question:
1. Upon uploading of file/data via https, is there a maximum bytes that it can only process? My file is just less than 1MB and it terminates the session. How do I go about it? Should I switch it then to an http?
2. If I switch from https to an http session, SSL session data can not be retrieved from an http session?

Encountered problem when converting from development to runtime environment
1. I ran apxdevrm.sql switch my environment to runtime. Although it seemed to finish successfully, this error was in the log and according to registry, my installation was invalidated(still works though).

URL redirect - how to switch from https to http

We have some requirement that the portal session be switched to https on some iviews while the rest of the contents are in http. I am thinking of using url redirect on the web dispatcher.
What I found is that the url redirect from http to https works great. Now if I want to switch back to http, the redirect doesn't work. Note that the http port is 80 and https port is 443 on the web dispatcher. To test, here is the parameter I did to switch from http to https. This works and transforms the url from http://ozonehomeep3.xxxxxxxxx/irj/portal/zsap_xxxxx to https://ozonehomeep3.xxxxxxxxx/irj/portal/zsap_xxxxxxxxxxxx
icm/HTTP/redirect_0 = PREFIX=/, FROM=/irj/portal/zsap_, FOR=ozonehomeep3, FROMPROT=http, PROT=https, HOST=ozonehomeep3.XXXXXX
If I flip it back the other way:
icm/HTTP/redirect_0 = PREFIX=/, FROM=/irj/portal/zsap_, FOR=ozonehomeep3, FROMPROT=https, PROT=http, HOST=ozonehomeep3.XXXXXX
When I connect using the url https://ozonehomeep3.xxxxxxxxx/irj/portal/zsap_xxxxxxxxxxxx, it ignores the parameter and the redirect to http did not happen.
What is wrong?

I've had a similar problem for one of my customers.
I've tried to do it on a root level, just Https://FQDN:port_https/ to http://FQDN:Port_http/
I've used this parameter to solve it:
icm/HTTP/redirect_0 = PREFIX=/, FOR=FQDN, FROMPROT=HTTPS, HOST=FQDN, PORT=80, PROT=http
maby you should try:
icm/HTTP/redirect_0 = PREFIX=/, FROM=/irj/portal/zsap_, FOR=FQDN, FROMPROT=HTTPS, HOST=FQDN, PORT=80, PROT=http, TO=/irj/portal/zsap_
You should also verify that the standard http port (80) are open in the firewall from the outside, just take a telnet session to FQDN and port 80
to quickly determined if the firewall policy are right.

Switching from HTTP to HTTPS - adverse side effects???
Hi everybody,
what are the possible adverse side effects when changing from HTTP to HTTPS?
I could imagine that previously saved web bookmarks would not work, correct?
Links saved in roles will have to be adjusted in roles, correct?
Anything else?
Does anybody have knowledge/experience in this area and how do you recommend to proceed when switching a productive system from HTTP to HTTPS?
MartinThe web bookmarks stored on IE browser will still point to the HTTP service, not HTTPS, you will have to make the changes manually.
The URLS for BW Reports are generated dynamically, you should be able to maintain an entry in table HTTPURLLOC and get this switched to HTTPS. see OSS note 805344 for the same.

Some sites are switching from http to https protocols and some sites run both. This creates some duality when you have saved passwords. You either save passwords for both versions of the site. And if you visit the https version for the first time you just have to go and look up the password as (personally) I don't remember all of my passwords.
Would it be possible that unless there are different passwords for different version of the site that firefox would use the one that it has already saved?You will have to save the password again in case the submit URL and possibly other parameters change.

Problem when waking from sleep
Hi all, my mbp has real problems when waking from sleep - I hear the dvd drive do something, the screen comes on but remains black, and then nothing else - no keys work, only holding the power button has any effect.
I have a screensaver password on.
Anyone heard of this before or have any ideas?

GNOME | Desktop artifacts when switching from a virtual terminal
When switching from a virtual terminal to the graphical environment I observe artifacts on the desktop. When then I change wallpapers, the artifacts disappear. If I set the display mode for the desktop wallpapers (in the GNOME tweak tool) as “None” the artifacts don't show up at all.

I have 250 windows 8.1 tablets.
I figured since you can use the same account on 81 devices id create 4 accounts.
I need to download more than 25 free apps from the store
on each tablet. Putting the same account don't work. (comes up with an error after putting on to many devices that you cant use this account now).
Whats the best way to do this ? and what if I need to download a paid app ?

Help! mail dissappears when switching from junk training to automatic mode
I'm a new Mail user recently switched from 20 years of Eudora. I'm using Mail with a standard POP account. I've had no trouble setting up mailboxes and importing my old mail.
I've been using junk filtering in training mode for the past few weeks and want to switch to automatic mode. When I tried doing this, all of my inbox messages suddenly disappeared. I quit mail and rebuilt my inbox and found myself with thousands of duplicated messages. I'm using Andreas Amann's remove duplicates script to clean up my inbox (it's taking forever but working!)
My inbox has about 7000 messages currently. My practice with Eudora has always been to keep the current year in the inbox and archive at the beginning of the new year. I'd like to continue this with Mail.
A couple questions:
1) will rebuilding a mailbox cause duplicates? When should one use rebuild?
2) do I just need to be more patient and let mail do its thing when switching from training mode to automatic?
3) is 7000 messages considered too many for a single mailbox?

This question doesn’t have a simple answer in the case of Mail 2.x and POP accounts.

There is a limit on the overall size of individual mailboxes rather than on the number of messages stored in them -- see Overstuffed mailbox is unexpectedly empty. -
When switching from tab to tab, Firefox 4 has a tendency to blink before displaying the new tab. Just a millisecond or so but can be annoying.
If that doesn't work, try power cycling your router, printer, and your iPad/iPhone in that order. To do this, follow these steps:
Unplug the router and printer from the power and shut off the i-devices. Let them sit for about 30 seconds and then plug just the router in.
Once the router is completely back online (usually takes about 30-60 seconds) plug the printer in. Wait until it is back on its home screen.
Turn the i-devices on.
Try to print again.

Problems when waking from long sleep periods
Suddenly this morning my iMac developed a problem when recovering from a long period of sleep. I'm having trouble finding a solution.
I have my iMac set to ask for password when it recovers from sleep or screen saver. When I woke my iMac this morning the password dialog box appeared at the top of the screen as a garbled mess. If I put my iMac back to sleep and then wake it again it usually solves the problem.
I don't want to turn password verification off. Has anyone seen this problem before? Any suggestions on what might be cause?funkyblue:
I usually leave my Pismo on and allow it to sleep. I find that waking from sleep and general functioning of the computer works a lot better if from time to time (I do it at least weekly) I shut down the computer, start up in Safe Mode, log in, empty Trash and reboot normally. The emptying Trash part clears the font caches.
You should consider doing other maintenance procedures, if you don't already. Gulliver's Mac OS X System Maintenance has good ideas with linked resources.

Blackberry Hub slow when switching from any account to an Exchange Activesync account
I'm experiencing a very slow hub when switching from any account (facebook, LinkedIn, Whatsapp, Gmail, etc...) TO my work email using Exchange Activesync. When switching back from Exchange Activesync TO any other account the issue is noy there. It basically takes a couple of minutes to enter the Exchange Activesync acocunt, and looking at the Device Monitor, CPU section, seems like the Hub process is constantly at 50% CPU usage during this time. This is really causing me lots of issues, as of course I switch between accounts quite frequently. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks for the support!

When switching from HTC evo to iphone 4s on sprint service the attendant said all my music, photos, and videos would transfer after some time. Does anyone know if this is true, or has anyone had this issue happen to them? It has been 8 hours since the switch and only my contacts transferred right away.
Well i wouldn't see why your photo's, videos and music would trasnfer. As that is a android device, there is no way to have them transfer over the air to the iphone.
Contacts probably came from google. Your videos and such you would have to move them to PC then to the iphone. Same with your music.
