Problem with deleting old master Data from 0Material

Hello, we try to delete the master data from 0Material.
But we get the message that some data are used and can not be deleted.
We can see the error message in slg1:
"Master data 000000000100000007 (SID 7) is used in /BI0/HMATERIAL; is not deleted"
"Master data R23188 (SID 5316) is used in /BI0/D0RT_C071; is not deleted"
Can we just clear these tables? Is it enough for resolving the problem?

no you just can't "clear" these table unless you want to screw your datawarehouse....
the first message means that the material with SID 7 is used in a hierachy of 0MATERIAL ==> adjust the hierarchy first.
the second message indicates that the material with SID 5316 is used in the ICube 0RT_C07 and you CANNOT delete master data if it is used in other objects.
First run RSRV for this dimension in order to see if the DIMID is really used by the fact table. Perform the following test "Entries Not Used in the Dimension of an InfoCube " with your cube and dim.
if the DIMID is not used then "correct" the error; you'll then be able to delete your SID.
If the DIMID is used then you'll have to delete your cube data if you really want to delete this material; otherwise you'll have to keep it.
Finally rerun you master data deletion.

Guys I am trying to Delete Data from 0Material, but when I run the FM RSATREE_PSA_DELETE_BATCH and check on T-Code 'slg1' it says the following,
<b>"Master data 070-310-0 (SID 652) is used in ZCONSIGNED_INVENTORY_BYMONTH and, therefore, not deleted."</b>
I have never come across where a query will be blocking data. The only thing that comes to mind is that it could be restricted by the data from the cube, and that is making it block the data.
Having said that, when I try to open the query , it is all greyed out. And I have also tried deleting the query by T-code "rszdelete", but it comes back with the following message
"Query object EU3SUSBZ4KR0Z75SUZRNBDSX0 is blocked. Deletion has been cancelled."

Needs to delete one Master Data from main process chain in development syst

Can any one pls suggest how we can delete the master data load from main process chain in development system.
In the main process chain nearly i am having 52 master data loads in that i required to delete one master data.

Hi...
1) go to RSPC1
2) Give the technical name of the process chain
3) in the top where we write tcode....there write COPY..and press enter...
4) then remove the start process and the desired master data loads..
5) create a new start process with a new variant..if you want to put ant condition you can put it there...
6) then link the start process with the first process..
7) activate your process chain...and schedule it as per your require...you can make it immediate run or can scedule it for a particular time...
Or if you don't want to create anew process chain...then go to the design view of the PC and remove the desired load and again activate it...

Delete mass master data from db

Hello All,
actually we need to delete several millions of master data from database tables. The only problem is, that a simple "delete from db_table where group_id = 'A' does not work.
Is there any possibility to cluster a delete?

Problems with language dependent master data

Hi,
I created a InfoObject with language dependent master data and I am trying to upload data from a flat file.
My flat file has a 2 digit language code (EN,DE,FR,JP,ES) and when uploading the data it seems that SAP BW is only using the first digit which leads to the situation that EN and ES get treated as duplicate records.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
ES is the Language for spanish..But the Flat file should have to represent 'S' for Spanish.
Check in Table T002 for the symbols which represent Languages and that to be used in flat file.

Problem with activation of Master Data 0UCINSTALLA

I'm working on a BW 3.5.
I have a problem with the activation of master data of one Infoobject. When I try to activate the data SAP gives me the message that all the data is active. But when I try to change something on the infoobject I get the error message:
Characteristic 0UCINSTALLA: Master data has to be activated before conversion.
So I have a small problem as you can see. When I try to activate something SAP says that it is active and when I try to change something in the infoobject SAP says it is not active.
When I do my check in RSRV of my infoobject I get the following error messages:
Characteristic 0UCINSTALLA: 79.579 values from table /BI0/SUCINSTALLA do not exist in table /BI0/QUCINSTALLA
Characteristic 0UCINSTALLA: 79.579 values from table /BI0/PUCINSTALLA do not exist in table /BI0/QUCINSTALLA
Characteristic 0UCINSTALLA: Chain of active intervals: 81.858 gaps (show max. 50):
When I ask that he corrects these errors SAP suggest to rebuild the X and Y tables. After rebuilding the error still exists.
Also with SE14 when I do the convertion of the tables (forced and not forced ) the error still occurs.
Does anybody have any idea? Any suggestion is welcome.

We are experiencing the same issue and it is mentioned in OSS Note 657467. Looks like there is a bug and depending on which version and support pack you are using, you may have to go to upgrade to a newer support pack.
I am just curious to know which version and support pack you are at.

Problem with Time dependent master data

Dear All,
I have 0PERSON master data infoobject. It is getting records extracted from backend R3 and from a different datasource called 'Peoplesoft'. It has a field 'Date of Birth'. Point of concern here is - whether a particular employee is present in Peoplesoft or in R3, his date of birth is constant. Unfortunately someone hs made 'Date of Birth' as a time dependent attribute of the InfoObject 0PERSON.
We extract data from Peoplesoft from 01.01.1900 to 31.07.2005. From 01.08.2005 onwards, data is getting extracted from R3.There are some employees which are present in Peoplesoft but they are not in R3.
Problem is occuring when the user is reporting on a relevant Infocube containing this 0PERSON infoobject. He does not see the value for this 'Date of Birth' field for certain employees. The reason for this is that the 'Date of Birth' field is blank in the interval 01.08.2005 - 31.12.9999 as this employee was absent in R3 and hence no record/s got extracted.
To view this value in the report - Please suggest me a possible remedy. I thought to write a routine but I dont think it is advisable to change a time dependent master data.

Hi,
There are two ways of solving your issue.
- Remove the time dependent check box for 0person, delete the transactional data, load the master data again and reload the transactional data.
- Write a program to extend the 'Date to' value to 31.12.9999 for all employees.

Problems with codepage after refreshing data from XML

Hello,
I've created a dashboard with XML connection.
XML file with new data is created via macro in INPUT.xls Excel file. This INPUT.xls file was created through exporting spreadsheet from Xcelsius and then adding a macro to it, so text data should be this same codepade. Generated XML through macro have no errors and Flash file gets numeric data with no problems.
But there is other problem with text's codepage. After reload there are some unidentified symbols in place of polish alphabet letters.
What should I do to make it right? Is this a problem with codepage or something else?

As I wrote before, my data is generated via macro in Excel, so I supose my data in this file has windows default codepage. Am I right?

exp is de-supported in 11g. Use expdp instead to export tables without any rows.

Problem in uploading HR master Data from excel

When I am uploading HR master data using excel , I get the error
"Error in info type 0006 and emp no 00000016 with msg id 00 no. 055 msg Fill in all required entry fields "
I have filled in the following fields for infotype 0006:-
SUBTY ='1'
ANSSA = '1'
STRAS , LOCAT ,ORT01, STATE , PSTLZ , LAND1, TELNR.'
But I am getting the error for filling the required entry fields.
I am using The function module HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA.

This type of error is a functional one . It simply means you are trying to feed the field with value which is not acceptable (here work schedule does not exist for specific key). Either contatct your functional collegue to check the configuration or change the provided data.
Also as Bala noticed you should always check if relevant record is allowed to be entered directly in PA30. Make sure all required fields are provided too.The best is to either enter it manually or use SHDB to record this entry and get technical field names. You then know which fields you need to provide in order to create a correct entry.

Problem with Exception Worksheet using Data from Supply Plan Data Table

I added a series for a flag that indicates whether product is sourced from multiple manufacturing sites for a given customer and item. The flag is on the supply plan data table because it depends on the scenario. I created an exception worksheet for when the flag is set but all combinations are being displayed. If the flag is not set for a given combo then "Selected Page Item has No Data" is displayed in place of the table. I want only the combinations that meet the exception to be shown. I tried setting up an exception worksheet for customer shipments which is also on the supply plan data table but saw the same issue with all combinations being displayed whether or not the condition is met. Does anyone know of any issues with using exception worksheets with the supply plan data table? I searched the documentation and saw that exceptions behave differently with promotion series but this isn't a promotion.
I'm using Demantra version 7.2. Thanks for any help!

Thanks. We have come up with a workaround. While the combinations on the left are not affected by the exception, the data in the main table is so we moved as many levels as possible into the table. The performance is slow but the data is more useful, especially when exported into Excel. I was hoping for a better solution but I guess we'll just have to stick with what we've come up with.

Can't delete old calendar dates from IPOD

I had two calenders in my microsoft outlook and then i deleted one, and now all the info that was synched to my ipod wont go away. I guessed if it could't find the info that that it would delete it.
Does anyone know how to remove this info cause that dates and events are all meaningless to me know.

I have the same problem. I sync with MS Exchange Server over the air and not through iTunes. But on my iPhone I have 2 calendars, one with a "red" dot and another with an "orange" dot. The orange calendar has no events, but I can't figure out how to delete it.

Problem deleting Master Data from an InfoObject

We have 0MATERIAL infoobject. There was no Master data in the infoobject. Then, i manually entered the data into the InfoObject. After a day, i tried to delete the Master data to load it from R/3. When i tried to delete the Master data from the InfoObject, it shows errors and does not allow me to delete the data. Say, i entered 2 into material column of a record, the error appears like 'Master Data 0000002' (SID 25) is being used in /BI0/DOSH21' and cannot be deleted'. could someone please help me with this. This is a bit urgent. Let me know if you need more information.

Your only hope is if R/3 has the Correct Master Data, it will overwrite your Master Data. But remember for this, the KEYS have to be same because the KEYS can never be deleted in your case.
E.g., MATERIAL, LOC (is an attribute)
You inserted:
000000002, TEXAS
If, in R/3 there is infact a material with key 000000002, FLORIDA. THis will overwrite your Record.
If R/3 doesn't have 000000002, there is not much you can do now.

That went smooth.
When I executed the SLG1 log it showed me was still data in some InfoProviders.
SOLVED DOING
a- Deleting data from such infoproviders (from log).
b- Trying again to delte 0MATERIAL data.
c- Error again.
d- SLG1
e- Identify form SLG1
a- delete content from Cube/DSO/Object...
b- trying again to delete 0MATERIAL...
Until all data got deleted and I was allowed to delete 0MATERIAL data.
First, delete the master data from the places where it is still being used (for example, in InfoCubes, as an attribute, in a hierarchy). Refer to the application log: Transaction slg1, object RSDMD, sub-object MD_DEL. The application log contains a list showing you whether the master data has been deleted or if it is still in use, and if so where it is being used. The list is complete only when you confirm that you want to delete all the master data that is in use.
(Which I think Srinivas mentioned already)
QUESTION: I though when we delete Request we delete data from Cube (or DSO...) though as per SLG1 log was showing some cubes contained data.
Has this to to with E and F table ?

Client have requested for master data clean up.

"Several masterdata tables in Production system contain wrong entries. These entries should be cleaned up. The attached Excel contains the keys of the entries to be deleted"
Steps to be taken:
1. emptied/deleted content of all the cube.
2. delete data from master data

What will be impact of deleting master data with SID when DSO data is not deleted.

Deleting master data is one critical job and ned to be very care ful.
First try to find out the where used list of that particular IO. delete data from all the CUBEs and DSOs. i don't think without deleting the transaction data from all the objects that you see from where used list, you will be able to delete the maste data.
System doesn't allow you, it will say "Not all selected data is deleted" Some message of this sort when you try deleting the master data.
If you are deleting the TD and master data, why do you need the SID to be spared, delete them too. next time you load the correct master data. the SIDs are again generated.
Go thru the below thread, this gives you lot if info on MD deletion.
