Problem with discussion forum

Hi,
i have a problem with the discussion forum.
It is possible to read old discussions and answer on old discussions. But when i try to create a new discussionforum or a new discussion, i get the following error-message:
IO Exception: ORA-01653: unable to extend table SAPOPEDB.KMC_AP_ID by 1024 in tablespace PSAPOPEDB
This error occurs in all discussionrooms (/discussiongroups and /documents/Discussions).
How can i solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Sven

It was a known error. The solution is described in SAPNote 682231.
We had to increase the tablespace.

Sven

  • Error JBO-26080 with Discussion Forum portlet

    Hi,
I'm getting an error with the discussion forum portlet.
This is one way I found to reproduce this problem:
    - reply to a post in a forum
    - do a search that should include the post added before in the result
    - you should get this error
Unable to perform the operation: JBO-26080: Error while selecting entity for ThreadSearchEntityObject
Is this a known problem? Does anybody knows a fix/workaround?
    Thanks in advance
    Bye
    Lorenzo

    Hi Pedro,
I found the portlet on this page
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/point_downloads.html
the one called "OracleAS Discussion Forum Portlet".
On this same page this forum is suggested to report problems.
I think this problem is due to some BC4J error, maybe a quick fix/workaround is possible, but I do not know this technology.
In the next day I'll try anyway to check the source, but I was also interested to know if somebody else has the same problem so to exclude the option of some installation/configuration problem of my deploy.
    Thanks again
    Bye
    Lorenzo

  • Problem with these forums

I don't know that this is necessarily a Safari issue, but I wasn't sure where to post it. I've got an odd display problem on these forums. When I click the My Posts link, I see odd formatting problems if one of my posts included a link or a smiley in the first few lines. Take a look at the screen shot below for an example:
If I look at the source for this, it looks like the href attribute for the link gets cut off and is not properly closed, meaning that everything until the width="1%" attribute on the td for the next post's number is lost.
I've also noticed a couple times where one page of posts will end with a number like 28 and the next page picks up with 30, but where was 29? I suspect it's probably related to the above problem.
Is anyone else seeing this? I find it hard to believe that Apple would have left a problem like this for as long as I've been seeing this, yet I am not sure what other possible explanations there could be. Any ideas? If it's a forum bug, how do I report that? I can't find any way.
    Thanks in advance!

Well, the problem with that is that I don't want to subscribe to every thread I post to... I don't want to get e-mail notifications that the thread has been updated.
And Thank You, for extending the courtesy, of awarding in  Discussions, as this is not a requirement, nor mandatory, but is much appreciated!
LOL, no problem! I sometimes wonder how some of you guys have gotten up to level 4 and 5, given how infrequently people actually assign stars...

  • Cookie problem with this forum?

Today I am no longer able to connect with this forum with my Safari browser. All I receive in a page with the 6 categories and nothing else. Also, I am not able to log in. However, I can log in using Foxfire with all the topics correctly displayed. I suspect it must be a cookie problem and if that is so, I'm not sure where to go in Safari to delete cookies.

Same problem is back after only one day. When using Safari (latest version), if I click on the following link...
    http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=218
All I see is the Category headings (no latest posts) and I'm NOT automatically signed in. When I attempt to sign in, I then go the the "new user" data page. After signing in, I get very restrictive access to the forum.
When I sign in with Firefox, everything is normal. Yesterday when I had this problem, I erases the cookies from Safari and everything returned to normal. I hate to have to erase my cookies everyday to get access here as I prefer to use Safari.
Is this happening to anyone else?

  • Problem Using Discussions Forums Lately

I used to be able to use the forums a lot, but now I can barley get any Apple Discussions page to load and I have to reload the page two or three times before it will finally load very slowly. All other websites seem to work fine. This happens on both of my computers and on different providers. Is there something in the Settings I can change or something else I may have set wrong? I am using Safari 2.0.4

    Hi Bobaloo!
The problems you experience, are probably nothing to do with your settings.
The Discussions Forum has been exhibiting some intermittent server and synching problems lately.
Although earlier this week it was quite evident, it's been fairly stable for the last couple of days.

  • Mozilla Firefox problems with the forums

I just spent an hour trying to access the forums when using Firefox 12. It does not display the bar with the New Your Stuff history etc. It updated itself yesterday or the day before and since then it is impossible to use on this forum.
I just had a thought and tried IE9 64 bit and it works OK. Loaded the same url on Firefox and the bar with the welcome username was not there.
It shows that I am logged in under the search box but still asks for me to log in. I even contacted Customer support, but they could not help.
So if you have problems accessing the forum, use a different browser.

I tried to log in on the page and it would not accept my password as I was already logged in to Adobe. A new password made no difference, it still would not accept the password and username. Logging in with IE9 was no problem.
Normally when I click on the adobe forums link on the Dreamweaver help  I am sent to http://forums.adobe.com/community/dreamweaver?lang=en_US  on my default browser - Mozilla. For some days now I have not been sent there, but arrive on the Adobe main page, and have to search for the forums using their search feature. Perhaps there was a crossed or broken link?
However, today for the first time for a while, it seems to be all working fine. I did report the problem to Mozilla, but whether they did anything I do not know at the moment.
I will see if this continues to work properly and report back.
    Best wishes
    Howard

  • Problem with my forum profile

Hello all. I have been unable to access the functions of my proflie. If I try to view 'discussions', I get an error message saying "The specified user was not found." Does anyone know how I can fix this?

You will need to change your screen name at Adobe.com to remove the semicolon from it.
Go to http://www.adobe.com and click on the Welcome link in the upper RIGHT corner (just below the search box) and select My Account.
Sign in with your Adobe ID if prompted
    Click on My Information
Change your Screen Name and click on Update & Continue
Then come back to the forums and confirm that the name changed. Then you should be able to access your profile.

    slow and unstable implimentation.
I use to follow the new posts on the dreamweavr forum and monitor the tips/solutions that more experienced people posted. This is awkward in the present setup.
issues with navigating the site. (can't easily find what I want.)
Yeah, I've been struggling with this new forum, too. I've been using NNTP for so many years that I can do it in my sleep. Web Forums will *always* be slower than NNTP. It's just a fact of the implementation.
But, I am slowly coming around. Here are some things that I have learned:
Start by going to Your stuff > profile > Preferences. Change the View to "Threaded" so you can easily see what the poster was replying to if they didn't quote anything. Make sure your Time Zone is correct (mine wasn't). Subscribe to email for threads you create and respond to. You can also subscribe to email for any thread by clicking on "Receive email notifications" on the right side when reading a post. I still do all of my reading via the Web Forum interface, but receiving email notifications is enough of a time saver for me that it makes up for the slowness of the Web Forum.
I tried to get my picture to show up by adding a picture to my profile, but I discovered that you have to create an avatar.
I haven't figured out how to search these forums with google, but the builtin search works much better than anything I have ever used in any NNTP news reader.
The only implementation problem that I have found to far is that the "Next" button has stopped working a few times. Closing the browser and starting with a new window seems to fix that.
    Hope this helps,
    Randy

    http://forums.oracle.com/thread.jspa?threadID=384456&tstart=0
That points to a Oracle 404 error page.
The link should be pointing to
    Bpel Process Analytics
It appears that the forums page generates the wrong page link, it apears that deletes the /forums part from the page link.
    Thank you very much

  • Problems with the forums -- Oracle personnel please escalate

I'm sure many have posted this somewhere, but in case they haven't -- the forums aren't rendering code snippets, which looks like xml, properly. In some cases, its eliminating them altogether, in others, it cuts out big chunks, in others it replaces some xml markup with smilies. The result is that its rendering tons of posts and information in them as totally useless.
If I had to guess, this is because the forums aren't rendering using rawText or something like this, but at the very least, until the problem can be totally fixed, turn off smilies. Smilies are nice, but next to code which document answers, they are unimportant.
    Thanks,
    B

    Shay,
"We did report it to the people in charge, and they asked that feedback will be posted on the feedback forum."
I understand your personal plight, and I thank you for passing on the information as you were told. But what I'm talking about is kind of big-picture stuff, pertaining to Oracle as a whole. It encompasses not only the issue of the new forums, but support of any product, be it on forums or metalink, documentation, examples, etc. The frustration coming out that I see seems to have a central theme: Oracle having a "fend for yourself" mentality to their customers.
Someone posts on the forums, can't get an answer, so they are told "these are for user communication". Then they are told "go post a tar". Then they post a tar and are sent a document they've already read. Then others have said that tars won't address how-tos. Then the JDev forums have problems, and users give feedback, and the response is "go post this somewhere else.".
This looks like continually passing the buck, propagating an internal bureaucracy to for users to have to understand how to navigate, and forcing upon your users the responsibility for facilitating communication within Oracle. I think Oracle really needs to work on putting themselves in the shoes of their customers, and change the self-centric attitude. I highly doubt that Oracle treats their customers with respect to accounts receivable with the same apparent lethargy they treat customers with respect to support.

  • Problem with discussion group contributors iview

    Hi,
I have created a discussion group contributors iview and fill all the parameters (name, id, layoutset=DiscussionGroupsContributor, path to folders). But if I display the iview in the portal a can create a discussion groups and discussions but i can not display them and reply to them(the name of the discussion is text-it should be a link). Do anyone know where could be the problem?
    Thanks and regards
    Ivo

    Hi,
You can create KM Discussion iView and use, not discussion group contributors iview . KM Discussion iView  show is all informations.

  • Problem with discussion group contributor iview

    HI,
i created an iview based on "km discussion groups" iview, and changed the default layoutset "DiscussionGroupsContributor" to "myDiscussionGroupsContributor" and removed few command groups in them. so now the end user opens the discussion group through this iview, and when he clicks on one discussion item, it opens a workarea in which he can reply, subscribe to post etc...
at the top, we see a "back button", which will take back to the discussion groups overview screen, but i see all the command groups that i removed, i.e. it is using "DiscussionGroupsContributor" instead of "myDiscussionGroupsContributor" when i click on back button.
    any ideas please?
    Regards

    Hi Yogi,
It's always nice to hear when I could be of help when one is trying to solve a problem. You would make me even happier if you would say "Thanks" the SDN-way by using the coloured stars.
But first of all, I would like to let you know how the above UI Command is integrated in the LayoutSet. As you correctly said, it's important to work upgrade safe, and therefore not to change the SAP standard "SingleDiscBackContributor" UI Command, but to duplicate it under your own name.
The LayoutSet "<b>SingleDiscExplorerContributor</b>" references the CollectionListRenderer "<b>SingleDiscHeaderCollectionRendererContributor</b>". This CollectionListRenderer has an attribute "Components" which include the entry "<b>SingleDiscHeaderTitleComponentContributor</b>". If you go to "KM Configuration -> User Interface -> (Show Advanced Options) -> Mapping -> Component" you can search for this Component and see the attribute "Parameters" is set to "SingleDiscUIBackCommandAlias=<b><b>SingleDiscBackContributor</b></b>".
So the Component implementation is the one which allows the integration of such "Back" (or sometimes "Edit", etc.) Buttons (UI commands).
To be upgrade safe, you need to duplicate all bold marked KM configuration objects under your own name (my...).
    Best regards,
    Robert
PS: How do I know? I work quite some years now as SAP EP Consultant specialized on KM, and it seems like I was able to gather up some knowledge on this special area
But honestly speaking, I figured this out myself without a special documentation, when I created a new "application" for saving contact data in KM similar to the Collaboration Room Part “SAP Contacts”. I later presented this on a SDN event and also wrote a <a href="https://weblogs.sdn.sap.com/pub/wlg/2349">Weblog</a> about it.
But actually, I also know about a How To Guide for Customizing Discussion LayoutSet but I'm afraid it's not released yet. I will ask the responsible person from SAP, maybe he can write in this thread what the release plans for this guide are.
