Problem with Launchpad

If I open the Launchpad and start to move between its pages, Launchpad loses its smoothness after 4-5 scrolling between its pages. I thought it was because the new update, but just do not notice it before. The more icons, the more noticeable slowdown. But I have a powerful Imac and no running applications. Only 28 icons on the first page and 22 on the second. If I add 5 more icons on the first page, then the slowdown will be even worse. I have reinstall Lion to 10.7.2 but problem will not go away. I tried to reset Lauchpad but it did not help.

i have exactly the same problem on my retina macbook pro with mavericks..... it was all ok before the update.. i even spoke to someone from apple who helped me reset the PRAM and other things but the issue is still there ?

    I have already downloaded this app and the problem only appeared when i clicked on the update that was available.
    I have the same problem , but mine actually says launchpad installing.
    I have tried putting it in the trash , uninstalling it, now its still on my launchpad screen but so faint you can just barely see it, but my launchpad icon is still saying launchpad installing.
    No idea what to do next.

    Hello guys.
    I have been experimenting this problem since I updated to Mavericks. The Launchpad appears to get freezed while changing pages. I took some screenshots for better understanding.
    As a consequence, I opened a folder and Launchpad looked like this.
    It is not a big problem for me and has no big consequences, but it's quite annoying since I have been using Launchpad on Mountain Lion without problems. I have a MacBook Pro Mid 2012.
    I want to know if anyone else experiments this problem and what do you think.

    It depends on what type of email account you are using. I am using outlook and when I enter settings, mail contacts and calendars, select on the account (outlook ), it give me the option for mail days to sink. I am not sure about any other accounts and how they work. Good luck

                    We are facing some problem with MSS Launchpad after the service pack, we have checked sicf, lpd_cust and done most of the troubleshooting steps,reached to point where we found table  T77MWBFCD and changed the URL value here, launchpad worked but the URL which we want to work and which was working fine in the past has stopped working.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    finally we managed to fix this bug on our own.
    We set up the Managers Desktop (MDT) as suggested by SAP. But the MDT's reports could not be converted to the launchpad.
    Then we recognized via debugging that for any reason the following entries were missing in table FPB_LP6_SNI_REQ:
    - Role ROLE C 3 MSS
    - Instance INSTANCE C 3 REP
    Adding these entries manually fixed the problem.

    I have a problem with the Creative cloud packager.
    i can pakage fine but when i try to install the package on another mac it simply says installation failed after a few minutes, i can see it installs Adobe Bridge in the launchpad but nothing more.
    The package includes Photoshop , Bridge, Muse, Premiere, Illustrator, Indesign, After Effects,l Dreamweaver, incopy, lightroom,
    The install works fine if i try to install it on the mac i made the package with

    Since installing Mountain Lion i have a problem with Mail. I delete a number of messages from the same person but keep the newest message in my Inbox. I actually delete them from the Trash.     Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
    First, empty the Trash.
    Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

  • Back up problems with Time Machine since I have Mavericks

    Since I upgrade to Mavericks Time Machine is not able to back up my MacBookPro.
    Not only it is slow but it never ends.
    Each time it seems to reach the end of the back up 150 or 200 mb are added to the amount to be saved.
    Without end.
    Before Maevroicks I had Montain Lion and it was fine.
    With my iMac I have no probleme with Mavericks ????

  • Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials connecting with Launchpad on Mac OS 10.9.2

    Hello we have a client which has a Mac OSX 10.9.2 and we are trying to connect the Mac Launchpad to the Mac. We have a VPN set up and it is working correctly so we connect to the server by using servername:65510/connect/ this brings us up with the correct
    screen and prompts us to download software for mac, when opening we can get to the mac connector and we go through all the setup however when we reach "User Credentials" and we enter the correct password it comes up saying "Cannot connect to
    the server using the name that was entered. Check if the specified value is correct and try again." We have set up macs before using this software the only difference is this is the first Mac which has been on OSX 10.9 Mavericks. 
    We have spent countless hours diagnosing and looking into all the possible reasons this could be and the only conclusion is that it must either be a software glitch on the Mac or on the server itself. I was doing some research and found a thread by a user

    This would fit in perfectly with our problem and I could not find any sources to confirm this information. Can anyone confirm if this is issue is correct and if uninstalling Rollup 4 will make this work?

    Based on your description, I can find a known issue for this
    Update Rollup 4. Please check if fit the current situation of your problem. Descript as below:
    You cannot install this update by using a Mac client connector that has Update Rollup 4 for Windows Storage
    Server 2008 R2 Essentials installed. This issue occurs because of a change requirement for Mac external binaries. To work around this issue, reinstall the Mac client connector before you install Update Rollup 4.
    Note: This issue only occurs on a server that has Update Rollup 3 for Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials
    installed.
    By the way, did
    you install the Mac client connector by using administrator account?

  • Problem with [shift-f1]-[shift-f4] in xterm

    I have run into some problems with the function keys on an xterm. The shifted versions of F1-4 don't work as expected. I found this thread:

    discussing what seems to be this issue, having to do with some change in the terminfo data for various flavours of xterm. It apparently applies to gnome-terminal too, but not to Konsole, since it uses TERM=linux and not vt220, as far as I understand it. I can confirm this on my part too.
    The discussion there is inconclusive, so I just wanted to know if (a) anyone else here experiences the same problem (specifically, I have mapped <S-f4> to :wq in vim, but in xterm, it doesn't work. Changing to <S-f5> does work), (b) if this is a gnome/ubuntu-problem or a problem with xterm itself or some other library, and (c) if someone here knows of a fix, either temporary or permanent. At present, S1-4 are useless...

    Personally, I prefer to use a single shift register and an array with two elements. Minimizes code clutter.

    Helloo! I have super big problem with my Air,10.8.5 ,it asks every 10 sec to make some changes and asks me for password all the time!! I cant acces my documesnt,pics,music,NOTHING at all! Finder is not working,i cant open any folder,icons are missing also,i cant open any of them,mozzila,chrome..im really going crazy.. i updated tonight my phone on new IOS 7 through my comp,cant be that i messed up everything because of that..this comp.is like 10 days old.

    Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
    This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary.     Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
    Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
    Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
    Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
    Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart

    I've recently started having problems with displaying OpenGL apps forwarded through an ssh session to an SGI Altix. It seems like it might be an upgrade problem that has also been observed on Ubuntu:

    The short version of the problem is that in the ssh banner, a single backslash is displayed as two backslashes in the terminal.
