Problem with mass IDoc for Material Master

Hi All,
Can anyone suggest a solution to work with mass IDocs for Material master?
We have DEBMDM and CREMDM as mass capable IDocs for Customer and Vendor. How do we get mass Material Master IDocs from R/3 in a single XML file?
Also the standard Material repository supplied with SAP MDM 5.5 SP3 doesn't have any XSD definition for MATMDM. Can anyone throw some light on this problem?

Hello Pooja:
The standard way to do it is to generate a single file containing multiple idocs (And for the sake of performance, I suggest you stick to this technique).
In the case of material master, everything is straight forward. In the case of customer and vendor master, when data flows from R/3 to MDM no idoc conversion needs to be performed by XI.
However, for the case of customer and vendor master, when data flows from MDM to R/3, XI needs to separate the data in CREMDM to CREMAS and ADRMAS in order for R/3 to be able to process the idocs; as well as separate the data in DEBMDM to DEBMAS and ADRMAS.
The good thing is that you do not need to worry about all this mappings and conversions in XI. The only thing you need to do in XI is to import the standard business content for SAP MDM 5.5 into XI.

DIR display with old revision for Material Master

Hi All,
I created doc type with object type Material master. I created it when during revision level 2 for material.
When i display the DIR it's showing me latest Material with latest revision 4(which is almost changed allot).
Is there any option where we can display DIR for material with revisions ?
I know this in MM where we use MM19 for different version display, but i need in DMS.

In DMS you can view the DIR versions not material versions. And as you said in MM19 you can view the same with material version. It's affecting basic purpose and module limitations. so it;s not possible through dms.

Mass maint for material master

Dear All
can any one tell me how can i change profit center of material master without removing existing stock?
as on today i am getting error, that stock exists...
i am tried thru MM17 but unable to do it. plz help my to resolve this issue..

Hi dear,
This can be done by yet another method.Following steps to be followed.
1) Issue all stock first to a cost center with 201 movement,
2) Change the profit center, then get the material back with 202 movement.
You need to make MM335 message an error message in OMT4 to allow a change only if there is no stock
If you dont follow this way, then you create inconsistencies in profit center accounting.
Because...you received your stock without profit center (actually it is a certain default profit center), if you then change the PC in your material, then each issue will be posted to the new PC, while it never had a receipt.

Problem with Accounting view in Material Master

Hi,
One of the material master does not have the accounting view and the costing views attached to it. When trying to extend the views thru MM01, the system shows the following message -
Material already maintained for this Transaction/event
What we understood is that the views were already extended earlier but still does not show up.
Any help extended is highly appreciated.

Hi,
After we extended the accounting view in MM01 for a particular plant and saved it, we are not able to view it through MM02 or MM03.
Again, if we try to extend the view for the same plant in MM01, the system gives an error message that it is already extended.
Any reasons why the accounting views are not showing up in MM02 and MM03.

Mass change for material master data

Dear all,
Previously my company had marked some storage location for MRP indicator to exclude the storage location stock from MRP run.
Now I need to reactive back those storage location, where should I go?
I know a way which can active back material by material (tcode: MM02), but that is too slow for me, because I need to active back around hundrreds of materials.
Anyone know where can I modify the storage location indicator and active back it? I had test MM17, MASS, LSMW.. but it seems like not supported for SAP version 4.0B.

Requirement Planning - Planning - Define Storage location MRP per plant - Enter
the plant - Check for which Storage locations has got the indicator 1 - Storage
Location stock excluded from MRP - Now remove that or choose the values.
Check with & revert.

Hi everyone
I need to send Material Masterdata whenever data is saved in MM01,MM02 using BTE1250 .
I need to use function module MASTERIDOC_CREATE_REQ_MATMAS to send idoc.
Can anyone please help me with a basic program/ code for sending Idoc using MASTERIDOC_CREATE_REQ_MATMAS.
I am new to Idoc and could not understand programs given in SDN.

Classification Segment in IDOC for Material Master

Hi,
Can anyone let me know which IDOC message type will get me the classification segment in that. I am assuming that to be the segment is E10CLFM but i dont know which IDOC message type has it.
which IDOC type will get the batch data Inbound to SAP with all the batch class and batch characteristics to be posted to inventory.

you can create inventory with IDOC
message type MBGMCR
basis type MBGMCR03
alternative with program RM07MMBL
You have to decide if you create batches internally while loading inventory or if you load the batches seperatly and assign just the batch number when doing the movement for initial inventory.
Especially if your batch characteristics cannot be valuated automatically, you have to load them before inventory to get all the characteristic values.
batches can be loaded with Idoc

Problems with mass compiling for LabVIEW 6.0.2

When mass compiling the LabVIEW folder after installing 6.0.2, I get a Log file telling me "Bad VI" for 8866 vi:s. Have looked specifically at two of them, and the broken arrows are fixed by pressing and clicking the broken arrow. Somehow I don't feel like doing this for 8866 vi:s.
What is wrong, and how do I fix it?

Yes, it definitely appears as though you need to reinstall NI-DAQ. You can receive this error when the VIs which are being mass compiled depend upon other VIs which are either not present or have been incorrectly updated. Make sure that you have installed NI-DAQ support for your new version of LabVIEW. This is separate from installed NI-DAQ by itself. You must install the LabVIEW support files also. You can get these off of NI's website.
Also, if you did a complete install of LabVIEW, you may have installed a newer version of NI-DAQ without realizing it. This could cause a problem if there are two versions of NI-DAQ on your computer. Make sure you only have one version.

Mass changes of Material Master field with different values

Hi,
How to change a field in Material Master for more than thousand materials. I think MM17 can only be used for mass changes of materials with same values. I need to upload different values for different materials. Is there any other way to do this.

I want to know the Revision Level for a particular Material for BOM Creation.

I faced the problem with BATMAS03. When drilling down to F'tn BAPI_BATCH_SAVE_REPLICA I could that one and similar BATMAS03 get to work with filling following set of fields. Adapt of course the values to you're system.

MM17, LSMW, MM50 --- These are the 3 main transactions which is used frequently to Mass change the Material master.
There is one more option is there using BDC Upload.
Batch Data Communication or BDC is a batch interfacing technique that SAP developed. It is mainly used for uploading data into the SAP R/3 system. BDC works by simulating the user input from transactional screen via an ABAP program.
The data input data file will come in the form of a flat file which the user save as file type txt file or prn file from the Microsoft Excel program. An Abaper will create a program to read the text file and upload into the SAP system.
Transaction -- SHDB will be used to record the change material master. After, the simulation, the Abaper can generate a sample program and modify from there. It makes the programming easier and faster.
For a BDC upload you need to write a program which created BDC sessions.
