Problem with odata with custom query options

I have a datasource which uses custom query options
http://www.odata.org/documentation/odata-version-3-0/url-conventions/#url5.2
But those query options are not getting sent by Power Query with the $top requests. Hopefully this is something you will correct in a subsequent release.

Here's the sequence of calls that Power Query makes:
GET /odata/catalog/test?$orderby=name&param=70442
GET /odata/catalog/$metadata
GET /odata/catalog/test?$orderby=name&$top=1000
GET /odata/catalog/test?$orderby=name&param=70442
GET /odata/catalog/$metadata
GET /odata/catalog/test?$orderby=name
GET /odata/catalog/test?$orderby=name&param=70442
The problem, as you can see, is that two of the calls did not include the "param" parameter which is resulting in incorrect behaviour. Is this a bug?

Hi,
I recently created an OData Service with the Netweaver Gateway Service Builder (SEGW), but unfortunately the grouping of properties does not seem to work as I know it from XS OData services.
When I call the url below on an XS OData, I get a result where A and B are aggregated by YEAR
.../odata/CA_CFA.xsodata/cfa?$select=A,B,YEAR
This grouping does not work the same when I call the same $select parameter on the OData service I defined in SEGW.
The properties A and B have the semantic set to "aggregate" and YEAR is set as a dimension.
Is there a way to achieve the same behaviour with the ABAP OData service as with the XS OData service?

$select will return the field specified in resultset in OData query. for e.g. http://services.odata.org/OData/OData.svc/Products?$select=Rating,Price
aggregation is not supported by OData version 2.0 on which SAP Gateway is based on.
It will be available in OData 4.0 as mentioned here OData Extension for Data Aggregation Version 4.0
you need to implement the grouping logic on client side. refer this discussion on similar lines Get a count of a linked collection using OData and LINQ - Stack Overflow

Need to reconcile users based on custom query in IT resource

Hi,
We have a requirement to reconcile users from DB based on below criteria:
If the user have attribute=sysadmin as 'Y' then that user should be reconciled into idm.
If user have two attributes=sysadmin as 'Y' and manager as 'Y', then that user should be reconciled into idm.
If user have two attributes=sysadmin as 'Y' and manager as 'N', then that user should be reconciled into idm.
But if If user have two attributes=sysadmin as 'N' and manager as 'N', then that user should not be reconciled into idm.
I need to mention that in the custom query column of IT resource. I gave the below query but the schedule task fails with error.
Custom Query: (|(|(|(|(CREATEGLOBAL_FLAG="Y")(SYSADMIN_FLAG="Y"))(ALLOCATE_FLAG="Y"))(RELEASE_FLAG="Y"))(LOCATION_RESTRICTIONS_FLAG="Y"))

Try this query:
select usr.usr_login, obj.obj_name, ost.ost_status from usr, obj, obi, oiu, ost where usr.usr_key = oiu.usr_key and obi.obi_key = oiu.obi_key and obi.obj_key = obj.obj_key and ost.ost_key = oiu.ost_key and obj.obj_name='<resource object name>'
you can add : and ost.ost_status = <status value > to search status as well.

when using the SharePoint ODATA or REST APIs each list and site would have a different endpoint URL. Some example URLs are below:
REST API:
https://test.sharepoint.com/sites/pwa/Project01Test/_api/Web/Lists/getByTitle('ProjectNotes')/Items
https://test.sharepoint.com/sites/pwa/Project01Test/_api/Web/Lists/getByTitle('Risks')/Items
ODATA SVC:

The down site is that in Excel you cant dynamically update the connection URL so would have to add all of these in manually and create the data models - I guess this is ok if you don't have many projects and don't create many new projects. In code such as
JavaScript it is easy and you can build up the URL dynamically using variables like below:
projSiteUrl + "/_api/Web/Lists/getByTitle('ProjectNotes')/Items"
The options to explore to see if you have make this dynamic and get the data you want are:

Need advise on a problem one of my customer have with properties going missing in Acrobat Reader

Hi there.
I need some advise on a major problem I got with acrobat reader on one of my customer's laptop.
I might not have all the informations, but I can explain about everything that I could dig out of the problem.
One of my customer asked me to find a solution to his problem as he just bought a Mac laptop and he has only been using a Windows PC before. He needed a way to be able to manipulate some texts and picture on a file (template) that he print a couple of times each week. I have built a 2 pages PDF form for him and it was a success on every computer we tried it on, except for his new Mac Laptop.
Whenever we open the file on his laptop in acrobat reader, every single properties of any forms are not readed.
Those "missing" properties include :
- Everything in the "Text field property" which include size, choice of font (I specifically took a system font available on both PC and Mac and tested it on another Mac), alignment and apearances.
- All forms, checks and buttons are resetted to a "default" appearance.
The names and ID of the forms seems to be correct and forms with the same name seems to work. (if he fills in one part, it automaticly fills some parts on the 2nd pages instead of having him rewrite the whole stuff.)
The sizes of the forms are correct too. It seems to only affect the form properties, but not the manually inserted javascript.
I tried to open another form PDF I took from the Web (gouvernment forms) and it seems like the problem is not from my file as it happen with all PDF files with forms.
I checked his Acrobat Reader version and it seems like it's up to date, as well as his java software.
Since I couldn't do a full check-up and tried to reinstall Acrobat Reader and java as I only had about 20 minutes to check things, I'm asking around before taking that kind of option into account.
If any got any idea or have already experienced that kind of strange thing, please tell me where could the problem be.

The file is opened manually with Adobe Reader directly on the customer's computer harddrive. (Right click on the file directly stored on the desktop. "Open with ..." and then select "Adobe Reader". The program showed on the top bar is Acrobat Reader and it's hard to mix it up as it's totally different from the "Preview" program on the Mac.)
If I opened it with Preview (on the Mac), it was even LESS buggy. While some options are not accessible in Preview (mainly those who use javascripts or adobe reader/acrobat only features), the visual that aren't working in Adobe Reader were working fine. Since some basic options aren't available in Preview, my customer needs to use it in Adobe Reader.
I can garanty that the problem is related to Adobe Reader and/or maybe background process that Adobe Reader uses (for exemple : Java, C++, etc.)
I asked around to know if someone have already experienced this issue and if they have found a way to repair it without doing a full reinstall of every kind of process that Adobe Reader uses.
Also, if I'm doing a clean up for a restoration of Adobe Reader, is there any other program to reinstall then Adobe Reader and Java?

I am using 2 tables; table 1 and table2
Structure of table1 is as:

Structure of table2 is as:

First_Name
Middle_Name
Group_ID
Site_ID
Dept_Num
Report_id
I have to use below query while polling to table1
Select count(*) as NOSEXP, Report_id
from table1, table2
where table2.batch_id =
table2.batch_id
and table1.Status= 0
group by Report_id;
I mean, when I use DB adapter to poll table1, I have to use above query.
Can you Please suggest on this.

I will check for existance not based on Primary key but based on three other fields in the table. I think , by default DB adapter configured for MERGE checks for existance based on PK. Can we change the Primary Key in the mapping file after the DB adapter is configured. In that case , will it check for existance based on the fields , I mention.

Backslash in query expression in LS2 with oData

Hi together,
we just migrated a LS project to v2 and came across the following problem: A query to a service (attached to LS) fails, the query condition is 'IFB\i10600' (user name with domain). We get the error 'Bad Request - Error in query syntax' - during processing
the backslash in the query is converted to a '/', so the complete service call is
GET /ActiveDirectoryData.svc/Users('IFB/i10600') which fails with the above error.
To make it clearer: The domain\username string is used as foreign key in several tables and then used in the service call.
If I execute the query manually with ../Users('IFB%5Ci10600') (backslash replaced with HTML equivalent) the query is execuded without error, BUT: How can I get the LS data service to do the same? (In LS1 this worked without problems.)
Generally, LS2 treats these special characters correctly in it's oData calls, as far as I see in a simple test project; what's the difference with the service call here?

In SQL DEVELOPER it works fine. But in APEX - when I try to save my "SELECT LIST" - it falls with error - "If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query."
How can I reassemble my query to fix this problem - I have no idea... :(

You may create a pipelined function returning two values, display and return, to return
the result from your query. After that, your LOV should work. See example here:

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 for BPM 11g implementation on my Application.I have Weblogic Server 10.3 Installed and configured the domain. Also the server is up and running.
I am trying to create workflow and wants to integrate it with my custom jsp but i am facing problem in integrating my custom jsp with the workflow engine.Can you please answer the following questions:
1)how to link BPM human task with my custom jsp (Requester jsp).
2)how my custom jsp data(Requester data) will be stored in workflow engine and how the same data will be visible to the next custom jsp(Reviewer jsp).

you forgot to add the usage dependency in the DC metadata section in your DC, you have to add the XSS~utils and fpm as a used DC's as part of your DC, try to add those, if you already done that, so check where missed the adding of used webdynpro components in any of the VAC's or FC's,

Problems with Automatic Workflow Customizing

Hi!
I am having problems with Automatic Workflow Customizing (SWU3). I am trying to execute "Configure RFC Destination" manually. I receive the message "Synchronization of passwords failed".
We are using CUA and it is therefor not possible to create the user from SWU3 which means that WF-BATCH has been created in CUA with a pw which is then filled in by me when executing "Configure RFC Destination".
WF-BATCH has authorization SAP_NEW, SAP_ALL
My user also has SAP_NEW and SAP_ALL and usergroup SUPER.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Hello Anders,
Check if the user is locked in SU01. Then check if your user has been created in CUA.
It is recommended to delete WF_BATCH. The system will auto create the user ID WF-BATCH and synchronize the password.

Problems with Partition pruning using LIST option in 9i

I am declaring the following partitions on a fact table and when
I do an explain plan on the following SELECT statements it is
doing a full table scan on the fact table. However if I use
the "PARTITION" statement in the FROM clause it picks up the
correct partition and runs great. I have used the analyze
command and dbms_utility.analyze_schema command on all tables
and indexes. I had simaliar problems when partitioning with the
RANGE options too. I have looked through all of the INIT file
parameters and don't see anything obvious. Is there something I
am missing?

...there's something strange: now I can INSERT rows but I can't update them!
I'm using this command string:

And this is the error:
Error SQL: ORA-14402: updating partition key column would cause a partition change

I think that is impossible to use a PARTITION/SUBPARTITION like that: in fact the update of "END_VALIDITY_DATE" cause a partition change.
Do u agree or it's possible an update on a field that implies a partition change?

Schedule Export Processes with Custom Query

Hi,
Can I use Schedule Export Processes, with a custom query over HZ_PARTIES and HZ_LOCATIONS, in order to export suppliers data in a specific field order with join conditions?
I used Schedule Export Processes with "PARTY", selecting proper fields, but exported csv is in a different field order than the required by an external system.

Can you elaborate on the issue here. Are you looking for a way to run "ad-hoc" SQL queries for the filters ? I do not think that is possible, depending on your environment you may be able to create a custom view object to match your requirements.
As for the orders I think you should be able to control the order using the sequence as the FAQs state:
What happens if I change the sequence number or header text?
Changing the sequence number changes the order of the attributes in the exported data file. Changing the header text enables you to give a more intuitive meaning to the attribute and the associated data.

As the others have said, the execution plan will give you a better idea about which is faster.
If you're trying to see how using (or not using) a sub-query affects performance, make the rest of the queries as similar as possible. For example, include field3 in both queries, or ignore field3 in both queries.
In this particular case, I guess the optimizer would do the same thing either way, but that's just a guess. I can't see your execution plans.
In general, simpler code is faster, and better in other ways, too. In this case
tableB
is simpler than
(SELECT field1, field2 FROM tableB)
Why do you want a sub-query in this example?

I need help with an export with query option.
I have a script that includes the following

when I run the script, I get the following error:
cal_export_tables.sh[7]: 0403-057 Syntax error at line 7 : `"' is not matched.
Can somone help me with the query option?

I made the suggested change:
