Problem with selectOneMenu in Datatable

Hi
I have the following datatable that binds correctly to a set of Game objects.
I need to have a dropdown with the numbers 1 to 10 as items which is bound to each dataItem's newRating field.
However there is some problem with the dropdown that i can't figure out. The datatable stops rendering when it hits the first dropdown.
At the moment,
The new rating field in the Game class is of type SelectItem with the appropriate get and set methods.
Could anyone please point out what I'm doing wrong
Thanks.
Here is the relevant part in Home.jsp:
                                          <h:dataTable binding="#{Home.newGamesTable}" id="newGamesTable" value="#{Home.newGames}" var="dataItem">
                                                            <h:column>
                                                                <f:facet name="header">
                                                                    <h:outputText value=""/>

                                                                <h:panelGroup layout="block" styleClass="new_game_main">

             for (int i = 1; i <= 10; i++)
                 SelectItem item = new SelectItem();
                 item.setValue(Integer.valueOf(i));
                 ratingItems.add(item);

        if (newGames ==null)
            newGames = DataFactory.getNewGames();
        hasNewGames = !newGames.isEmpty();
        return newGames;
    }

What do you mean by stops rendering? Can you paste the relevant portion of the output (from view source in the browser).

  • Problem with buttons in datatable header

    Hi
    I have command buttons in the datatable header .When I display the data in columns there is a gap between buttons .I want the buttons should be stretched automatically along with column data there should not be no gap between buttons regardless how big the data is in each column.
    Can anybody help me asap.
    Thanks.

    This issue is that the second header is an instance of the first, so all unmanaged relative code breaks. I would hazzard a guess to say that your add code looks like "$.parent.row1.instanceManager.addInstance(1)." This will break, as the "second" header row no longer sees the 'table' element as it's parent.
    Changing to code to a static reference will fix it... i.e. xfa.form.form1.table1.row1.instanceManager.addInstance(1).
    This should solve it for you... if not, let me know.

  • Problem with checkbox and datatable

    Hi,
    I have a checkbox in one column of the data table. The checkbox is to be disabled if the status (which is another column in the table) is set to Completed. For all other rows, the checkbox is to be enabled. What happens is that, the checkbox is either enabled for all the rows or disabled for all the rows...
    This is how i have implemented it.
    public void setCheck(){
    int rows = dataTable1.getRowCount();
    OrderRunStatusBean osb = new OrderRunStatusBean();
    for (int i =0;i<rows;i++){
    dataTable1.setRowIndex(i);
    osb = (OrderRunStatusBean)dataTable1.getRowData();
    if (osb.getStatusName().equalsIgnoreCase("Completed")){
    dataTable1.setRowIndex(i);
    chkSelect.setDisabled(true);
    else
    chkSelect.setDisabled(false);
    Thanks!!!!
    -Tabitha
    PS
    I'm facing the same trouble with selecting and deselecting a checkbox as well.

    Hallo Tabitha,
    create a method called isDisabled() in your <Page>.java class containing the logic by which you want to disable the checkbox, for example:
         * Getter for property disabled.
         * @return Value of property disabled.
        public boolean isDisabled() {
            TableRowDataProvider trdp = (TableRowDataProvider)getBean("currentRow");
            String category = (String) trdp.getValue("MUSICCATEGORIES.MUSICCATEGORY");
            return category.equals("Rock");
        }This example is connected to a TableRow and returns true when the value of the database field is "Rock".
    Then bind the disabled property of the checkbox to the 'disabled' property:
    Click on the right of the disabled property in the Properties window, select the option 'Use Binding', select the 'Bind to an object' tab, select the Page1.disabled property and click on OK.
    Deploy and run the project.
    Hope this helps.
    Ciao,
    Fabio

    Guys
    Thanks a lot, both of your replies are immensely instructive. Maybe a little background on what I'm trying to do. In the table, I have header rows with dependent line rows. When a check box is ticked in the header, I want the corresponding check boxes in the dependent lines to be checked automatically (in slave fashion and ideally without using JavaScript). My idea was to update the bound components (for the lines) from within the Bean (in response to change on the header). However, given there's only a single component for each column in the table, this of course doesn't make sense.
    I'm trying to get to the typical MVC workflow of a) user updates a View component, b) Controller detects the change and updates the Model, c) The Model fires a property change event, which the View detects and updates appropriately. What's the way to achieve this in JSF (by design)?
    Here's a simple fragment (which does not work):
            <h:dataTable value="#{bean.lines}" var="line">
              <h:column>
                <h:outputText value="#{line.id}"/>
              </h:column>
              <h:column>
                <!-- (1) This is the master and (2) should refresh on update here --/>
                <h:selectBooleanCheckbox onchange="submit()" value="#{line.lineSelected}"/>
              </h:column>
              <h:column>
                <!-- (2) This is the slave and I want this to update in response to a change of (1) above --/>
                <h:selectBooleanCheckbox value="#{line.slaveSelected}"/>
              </h:column>
            </h:dataTable>In the setter method for lineSelected, I'm setting slaveSelected to the new value but the View is not refreshing based on this. How do I get the View to update (each dependent line) based on the new values for slaveSelected?
    Thanks again

  • Problem with h:dataTable and conditional rowClasses

    Hi!
    I have a problem which I hoped somebody could have a look at. It might be that what I'm trying to do isn't possible, but I think it should have worked ;)
    To give you a quick presentation of my "case" or problem:
    - I have a dataTable which is filled with Document objects retrieved from a database.
    - The Document object has a property "created" which is a Date timestamp
    - In the dataTable I alternate the background of each row with white and blue
    - Then, what I would like to do, is to do a test on the "created" property, if the Document has been created within a fixed time, present it with a yellow line instead.
    - I set the different background-colors with three different styles, tableViewRow1 - tableViewRow2 and tableViewRow3 (the latest is the yellow line).
    To do a test on the dates I convert them into milliseconds and do a simple subtraction - if todayDate minus createdDate is smaller than criteriaDate, then the Document is considered "new" and should have a yellow background.
    This is how I've defined my dataTable:
    <h:dataTable id="documentsTableView"
    binding="#{documentModelFactory.htmlDataTable}"
    value="#{documentModelFactory.documents}"
    var="document"
    columnClasses="tableViewColumn"
    rowClasses="#{ (documentModelFactory.todayInMillisec - document.createdInMillisec) < documentModelFactory.criteriaInMillisec ? 'tableViewRow3':'tableViewRow1,tableViewRow2'}"
    styleClass="tableView"
    footerClass="tableViewFooter"
    headerClass="tableViewHeader"
    >
    So this would be the interesting lines:
    rowClasses="#{ (documentModelFactory.todayInMillisec - document.createdInMillisec)< documentModelFactory.criteriaInMillisec ? 'tableViewRow3':'tableViewRow1,tableViewRow2'}"
    I don't get an exception, and my expression seems valid. But it seems like it is always rendered to be false, I only get the white and blue rows, and I don't understand why.
    I have done different tests on the expression, and this confuses me, because it seems like the result is what it should be.
    # Test 1
    For each row I created a column printing the result of the expression, false or true.
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="Test " />
    </f:facet>
    <h:outputText value="#{ (documentModelFactory.todayInMillisec - document.createdInMillisec)< documentModelFactory.criteriaInMillisec }" />
    </h:column>
    In all cases this is giving me the correct result, new documents get 'true' and the old ones get 'false'.
    So then I thought that there is a problem setting the tableViewRow3 param properly for the <tr class="" > :
    #Test 2
    I created a selectDocument action which basically just sets the document in my bean when a commandLink in the dataTable is fired.
    Then, in my method I retrieve the HtmlDataTable object, and do a logging of the current rowClasses for that row:
    htmlDataTable.getRowClasses() - which returns a String
    If I selected an "old" document, it returned "'tableViewRow1,tableViewRow2", but if i selected a new document, it returned 'tableViewRow3'.
    So it seems like my expression is rendered correctly, the rowClass is set properly, but still I don't get a yellow line. In the html source I have only <tr>'s with
    'tableViewRow1' and 'tableViewRow2'.
    Anybody? :)
    I don't know if it has something to do with the time / when the rowClasses param is "rendered", that it doesn't know what the "document" property is at that time??? I had the impression that the html was encoded "on the fly", and then this shouldn't be a problem? But I'm not exactly an expert so.. :)
    I guess an alternative solution is to do the testing in my bean and build up a comma-separated String to specify a rowClass for each row displayed in the dataTable, and then set the rowClasses to something like
    rowClasses="#{bean.rowStyles}"
    but first solution seems like a much easier approach (less costly as well), and it would also be interesting to know why it doesn't work.
    I'm using the 1.1.3 version of myfaces-impl, myfaces-api and tomahawk
    Thank you for your time!

    I'm not sure whether i understand your problem,
    It doesnot need using the binding attribute If you wanna updating the value of each rows in the datatable.
    below is a sample that updating each rows of a datatable
    jsp file
    <h:dataTable value="#[sampleBean.data}" var="row">
        <h:column><h:inputText value="#{row.col1}"/></h:column>
    </h:dataTable>
    <h:commandButton value="update" action="#{sampleBean.update}"/>BackingBean:
    SampleBean.java
    public class Samplebean{
      private SampleRow[] rows[];
      public SampleRow[] getData{
              return rows;
      public String update(){
          for(int i=0; i<rows.length; i++){
             rows.update();
    return "success";
    SampleRow.java
    public class SampleRow{
      private String col1;
      public String getCol1(){
        return col1;
      public void setCol1(String col1){
        this.col1 = col1;
      public void update(){
         //write your code to save one row data to db/file here

  • Problems with multiple row operations in a dataTable

    Dear fellows,
    I have a strange problem, i want to do multiple row deletion in a dataTable. Can any one tell me a better way to do it. Because the way i am doing it, it is causing me strange problems. In some places it start working and in some it dont.
    The way i am doing it, it has the following code:
    <h:form>
    <h:dataTable id="list" value="#{availableRoomsList}"  var="RoomTypes" >
    <h:column>
         <f:facet name="header">
                 <h:outputText value="Select"/>
           </f:facet>
                 <h:selectBooleanCheckbox value="#{roomSelection[RoomTypes]}" >
                   </h:selectBooleanCheckbox>
    </h:column>
    <h:column>
         <f:facet name="header">
              <h:outputText value="Available Date"/>
         </f:facet>
         <h:outputText value="#{RoomTypes.availableDate}"/>
    </h:column>
    <h:column>
         <f:facet name="header">
              <h:outputText value="Available Rooms"/>
         </f:facet>
         <h:outputText value="#{RoomTypes.noOfRooms}"/>
    </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>
    <h:commandButton value="delete Selected Rooms" action="#{RoomResvAction.deleteRooms}" />
    </h:form>Now the back end code that i am using is as follows:
         private List<HotelRoomTypes> availableRoomsList;
          Map<HotelRoomTypes, Boolean> roomSelection = new HashMap<HotelRoomTypes, Boolean>();
             public String deleteRoom(){
                  System.out.println("In the delete selection method aad.");
                  try{
                       for (HotelRoomTypes item: availableRoomsList) {
                          Boolean selected = roomSelection.get(item);
                          if (selected!=null && selected) {
                               roomSelection.put(item, false);
                               //deleteRoom(item);
                  }catch(Exception e){
                       //e.printStackTrace();
                  return null;
             }The problem with the JSF code is when i click the command button it do not calls the associated action method with it. i dont know what is the problem with the code.
    And as far as the backend code is concern it should work fine.
    can anybody help me on this matter.

    thanks BalusC ,
    I will see this example and let you know, thanx for the help.
    but also please try and see my code and tell me what is wrong in it. because at some places it works and at some it simply dont . dont know why?
    well once again thanx for the help

    There are dozens of CSS attributes that can (and have to) be handwritten. Trouble with them is that, like text shadows, they don't appear in all browsers. I have nine different browsers installed and test pages in ALL of them before I "finish" building site or page for a template.
    I try to build for Firefox, out of personal preference for it, but I have to do things that work with IE because it still holds the market share (46%IE to 42%FF), and I will only go with designs that work in IE, FF, NS, Opera, Safari, and Chrome.
    As to your questions.
    1. The compatibility check is most likely current with the time of the build. I don't know if that component updates as browsers do, but I'd tend to think it doesn't. I'm using CS4  and there haven't been any updates for it in nearly a year. Firefox has released 4.0, Opera released 11, and Safari released 5 since then. The updater would have found and downloaded something if it was available.
    2. I could only guess. Text shadows DON'T show up in design view (or in IE) but they do in browser preview. It's just a UI quirk, and it means "trial and error" is the onyl way to get what you want.
    3. The quick-selects which are in DW dropdowns or popouts are the ones most  common to CSS designs and have been proven to work with all browsers at the time of release of your particular build of DW.
    Hope that helps..

  • Problem with Javascript and opening a new page

    Hi,
    I'm developping a website with Java Server Faces.
    I've a problem with JavaScript.
    I have a table, and each row of that table, has a button, to display more information about that specific row. I want to display this information in a new window. For this I want to use JavaScript.
    The new window, of course, needs some information of the other window, to show the right data.
    The first time I click the 'more-information-button', it works perfectly, but from than on, he keeps showing the same information...

  • Problem with f:setPropertyActionListener and f:ajax

    Hello,
    This is my first post to this forums.
    I am having some problems with the following scenario in JSF2: I have a h:dataTable populated with some items (ex. folders) and for each item I have a h:commandLink that is ajax enabled and has a f:setPropertyActionListener as a child that sets the selected folder on the backing bean and also re-renders another h:dataTable with a different kind of items (files). This part is working as expected. I want the second table to behave as the first one - when I click a h:commandLink I want to perform some action on the backing bean and to re-render a part of the page. The problem is that the action listener is not invoked, nor is the f:setPropertyActionListener.
    This is the code:
    <h:form id="form">
        <h:dataTable var="folder" value="#{bean.folders}">
            <h:column>
                <h:commandLink actionListener="#{bean.go}" value="Select">
                    <f:attribute name="folder" value="#{folder}"/>
                    <f:setPropertyActionListener value="#{folder}" target="#{bean.folder}"/>
                    <f:ajax execute="@this" render=":form:imageTable"/>
                </h:commandLink>
            </h:column>
            <h:column>
                <f:facet name="header">
                    <h:outputText value="Folder"/>
                </f:facet>
                <h:outputText value="#{folder}"/>
            </h:column>
        </h:dataTable>
        <h:panelGroup id="imageTable">
            <h:dataTable value="#{bean.files}" var="image" rendered="#{bean.folder != null}">
                <h:column>
                    <h:commandLink actionListener="#{bean.action}">
                         <f:ajax execute="@this" render=":form:pictureDialog"/>
                        <h:graphicImage value="#{image}" width="200"/>
                        <f:setPropertyActionListener value="#{image}" target="#{bean.image}"/>
                        <f:attribute name="image" value="#{image}"/>
                    </h:commandLink>
                </h:column>
            </h:dataTable>
        </h:panelGroup>
        <p:dialog widgetVar="dialog">
            <p:outputPanel id="pictureDialog">
                <h:graphicImage value="#{bean.image}"/>
            </p:outputPanel>
        </p:dialog>
    </h:form>Any ideas on how can I achieve this and why it is not working properly in the current form?
    Thank you
    Florin

    The solution seams to be declaring the bean as having view scope.

  • Urgent - problem with multiple users on same page

    Hi all,
    I have got an big problem with my app:
    when several users are using the same page, the action launched by USER_A affects the page displayed and used for USER_B.
    If there is only one user using the page, there is no problem at all.
    The webapp is deployed on Tomcat or JBoss and the problem remains the same on both.
    Thank you for your help.
    PS: I am not accurate because I don't know what to paste here.

    In fact, all my page beans are in REQUEST scope...
    The only bean in Application scope is the standard applicationBean created by Creator itself.
    We use one Bean in session scope which contains another class.
    I will try to explain our common process:
    - when logging into the app, the session Bean stores user data (rights for using app,...);
    - when navigating in the app, the user can search data, modify them and create one (if he has the right to do it);
    - to define the screen, we use a lot the beforeRenderResponse();
    - when viewing a data, the user can choose to modify it, so depending on the action, the page is in "CONSULT" mode or "MODIFY" mode. In the second one, he can display new gridPanel (as a subform) to populate datatable.
    The problem is obvious while using this grid: my grid can disappear if someone else has validated his form before me and if my page goes trough the beforeRender of my page.
    It is not really clear. If needed, i can give access to our application to show the problem (and msn adress too to talk about it).
    Thank you

  • Problem with IN OUT Number, OUT RefCursor for EF Model StoredProcedure call

    When I call a stored procedure using the EF Model and implicit binding via App.config which has three parameters i.e. 'IN Number', 'IN OUT Number' and 'OUT sys_refcursor', the 'IN OUT Number' is not set correctly on return from the procedure.
    The 'IN OUT Number' is for an error code and is set to 12345 on input and is then set to 54321 by stored proceedure for return.
    The correct value is returned when the call is via OracleCommand using implicit binding via App.config but remains unchanged when the call is via EF Model and implicit binding via App.config.
    The ODP documentaion says you cannot have two OUT RefCursors when using EF Model but does not say you cannot have OUT RefCursor and other non-RefCursor OUT parameters.
    The idea behind this type of procedure is to have multiple input parameters to configure and filter the stored procedure and an output result set that consists of an error code and a collection of result rows in a RefCursor.
    I am using 11g R2 database and ODP 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.2.30) and ODAC Entity Framework beta.
    The query uses Scott/tiger schema with parameters department code, error code and list of employees for department.
    code:
    PROCEDURE TEST_PARAMETERS
    DEPT IN NUMBER,
    ERROR_CODE IN OUT NUMBER,
    DEPT_EMPLOYEES OUT sys_refcursor
    AS
    BEGIN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('DEPT = [' || DEPT || ']');
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('ERROR_CODE = [' || ERROR_CODE || ']');
    OPEN DEPT_EMPLOYEES for SELECT empno, ename from emp where deptno = DEPT;
    -- set ERROR_CODE for return
    ERROR_CODE := 54321;
    END TEST_PARAMETERS;
    The App.config for implicit RefCursor binding is as follows ...
    <oracle.dataaccess.client>
    <settings>
    <add name="SCOTT.TEST_PARAMETERS.RefCursor.DEPT_EMPLOYEES"
    value="implicitRefCursor bindinfo='mode=Output'" />
    <add name="SCOTT.TEST_PARAMETERS.RefCursorMetaData.DEPT_EMPLOYEES.Column.0"
    value="implicitRefCursor metadata='ColumnName=EMPNO;
              BaseColumnName=EMPNO;BaseSchemaName=SCOTT;BaseTableName=EMP;
              NATIVE_DATA_TYPE=number;ProviderType=Int32;
              PROVIDER_DB_TYPE=Int32;DataType=System.Int32;
              ColumnSize=4;NumericPrecision=10;
                   NumericScale=3;AllowDBNull=false;IsKey=true'" />
    <add name="SCOTT.TEST_PARAMETERS.RefCursorMetaData.DEPT_EMPLOYEES.Column.1"
    value="implicitRefCursor metadata='ColumnName=ENAME;
              BaseColumnName=ENAME;BaseSchemaName=SCOTT;BaseTableName=EMP;
              NATIVE_DATA_TYPE=varchar2;ProviderType=Varchar2;
              PROVIDER_DB_TYPE=String;DataType=System.String;
              ColumnSize=10;AllowDBNull=true'" />
    </settings>
    </oracle.dataaccess.client>
    When the call is via OracleCommand both outputs are correct i.e. ERROR_CODE gets set to 54321 and the correct emplyees for department 10 are returned
    code:
    private void TestParametersViaOracleCommand()
    try
    string constr = "DATA SOURCE=ORCL;PASSWORD=tiger;PERSIST SECURITY INFO=True;USER ID=SCOTT";
    OracleConnection con = new OracleConnection(constr);
    con.Open();
    OracleCommand cmd = con.CreateCommand();
    OracleDataAdapter adapter = new OracleDataAdapter(cmd);
    DataSet ds = new DataSet();
    cmd = con.CreateCommand();

    ObjectParameter errorCodeParameter = new ObjectParameter("ERROR_CODE", typeof(decimal));
    errorCodeParameter.Value = 12345;
    Console.WriteLine("before call errorCodeParameter.Value = " + errorCodeParameter.Value);
    // RefCursor output parameter implicitly bound via App.Config
    var queryResult = context.TestParameters(dept, errorCodeParameter);

    EMPNO: 7782; ENAME: CLARK
    EMPNO: 7839; ENAME: KING
    EMPNO: 7934; ENAME: MILLER
    errorCodeParameter.Value IS NOT CORRECTLY RETURNED!
    If there is no RefCursor then both outputs are identical i.e. the parameters are being passed in correctly and the problem is not with the 'IN OUT' parameter. Also same thing is true if ERROR_CODE is made an OUT parameter. Also tried changing the position of the parameter in the list but still get same problem i.e. works when OracleCommand but not when EF Model. Also note that the RefCursor results are correct for both types of call i.e. it is just a problem with the value of the 'IN OUT ERROR_CODE' parameter.
    I have also enabled debug stepping from Visual Studio 2010 into Oracle PL/SQL as described in
    "http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/db/hol08/dotnet/debugging/debugging_otn.htm"
    and have verified by inspection that the correct values are being passed into the stored procedure and that the stored procedure is definitely setting the ERROR_CODE to 54321 prior to return.
    Most of our stored procedures have these type of parameters i.e. several IN params to configure the work of the stored procedure, an OUT NUMBER parameter for the Error_Code if any and a RefCursor for the result list.
    Is this a bug or a feature? Am I doing something wrong?

    Just to clarify ....
    If the ERROR_CODE parameter is made an 'OUT' parameter instead of an 'IN OUT' parameter the correct return value is given for the OracleCommand invocation but the WRONG value is still returned for the EF Model invocation i.e. just changing the parameter from 'IN OUT' to just 'OUT' does not fix the problem.

  • Problem with rerendering h:panelGrid with rendered attribute

    Hi,
    I am new to jsf and trying to learn its features as I find it easy and fast for development purpose.I have been developing with jsf for past few weeks and got myself stuck with a problem, tired of which I had to take the forum's help :). My problem is that I need to show/hide h:panelGrid using any of the options below:
    I tried putting the grid in the div and show/hide that div using javascript..works fine but the problem with this is, even when the div is hidden the components (h:inputText ) within the grid are submitted with the form, which should not be the case since its hidden (as with normal jsps).
    I worked around with rendered attribute of the grid, and show/hide this grid using the backing bean method which is actually a valueChangeListener of h:selectOneMenu and set the boolean for the rendered to true/false as required, the grid is hide/shown correctly, but this isn't giving me any solution because when I submit the form with this grid shown on the view, its components values are still not submitted :( I dont know whats the reason behind this or what clue am I missing here. I dont know why when the grid is shown correclty, its components values are not submitted.. hence not validated too..
    Any help will be highly appreciable.

    No, in "normal jsps" you'll get the same thing - even though you
    visibly hide a component, it is still there and thus will still be part
    of a form submit. If you don't want form fields to submit, you'll have
    to make sure they are physically not there, or the fields are disabled.Well thanks alot for correcting me on this mate.
    Don't know either, it should work if you did everything correctly. Are
    you sure the databinding (to a JSF backing bean field) of the grid is
    correct? When you create a similar setup but without any of the
    show/hide logic, does it work then?I guess I have done it correctly but let me tell you, I have no direct binding to the grid itself, instead I have h:inputText fields in the grid that are bound to the backing bean's properties, which I need to submit and validate too. e.g{color:#800000}<h:panelGrid id="myPanel" columns="3" rendered="Bean.renderStatus">
    <h:outputText value="variable"/>
    <h:inputText id="v" value="Bean.property" required="true">
    <a4j:support ......... />
    </h:inputText>
    </h:panelGrid>{color}
    {color:#800000}<rich:message for="v"/>{color}
    Here I am able to hide and show the grid but I am unable to submit the field in any case whether its hidden or shown :( At first the grid is hidden and then on the valueChangeListener of h:selectOneMenu rendered value is set to either true or false.( renderStatus is set in the value change listener ).
    And yeah without this logic of hide/show its working fine with me. Any guess or idea what am I doing wrong here.
    Thanks for your time by the way.

  • Problem with binding in rich:tabPanel

    I have the problem with binding in rich component. In the first request the tabPanel work fine, but in the second request the component is not displayed. When i remove binding="#{organizationController.tabPanel}" everything works well. Anybody can help me? thanks.

            <h:dataTable value="#{bean.lines}" var="line">
              <h:column>
                <h:outputText value="#{line.id}"/>
              </h:column>
              <h:column>
                <!-- (1) This is the master and (2) should refresh on update here --/>
                <h:selectBooleanCheckbox onchange="submit()" value="#{line.lineSelected}"/>
              </h:column>
              <h:column>
                <!-- (2) This is the slave and I want this to update in response to a change of (1) above --/>
                <h:selectBooleanCheckbox value="#{line.slaveSelected}"/>
              </h:column>
            </h:dataTable>In the setter method for lineSelected, I'm setting slaveSelected to the new value but the View is not refreshing based on this. How do I get the View to update (each dependent line) based on the new values for slaveSelected?
    Thanks again
    Lance
