Problem with weblogic deployment descriptor tool (DDInit)

Hi,
I'm just playing with weblogic ... following their tutorual but I can't seem to run their deployment descriptor tool:
java weblogic.ant.taskdefs.war.DDinit <folderName> gives me a NoClassDefFoundError.
I have weblogic6.0sp1 installed with an evaluation license which has not yet expired. I have d:\bea\wlserver6.0sp1\lib in mt classpath so weblogic.jar is n there.
When I check out the contents of the weblogic.jar file .. I can't seem to find this tool.
Can anyone give me a clue as to what I am doing wrong?

Here's a link describing the process. If this is what you are doing then your problem may be that 6.0 doesn't support this.

              Hi John,
              How's tricks?
It looks to me as though the olbcluster JNDI reference isn't being resolved from
the tree. A similar error results when a Connection Pool cannot be resolved, the
JNDI context env.jdbc is resolved but the particlar pool isn't. In my experience
it often turns out to be an error in the correlation between the deployment descriptors,
settings applied via the console and references made in the code.
              That's my tuppence worth,
              James :-)

  • Problem with Weblogic Builder SP1

I have a problem with Weblogic Builder SP1. I basically re-used my EJB deployment
descriptors from WL5.1 in WL8.1. Before SP1, i have no problem loading my EJB

I re-attempted by jarring my EJB with WL5.1 descriptors and used my friend's WB

I have a problem with weblogic.Deployer. My application deploys and works fine
if I manually copy the ear or the exploded form into weblogic's applications\

    Hi Deepak,
I didn't understand the suggested resolution. Can you tell me what it means?
However, I found a similar problem in the archives, so I tried from command line
(outside ant) using "java weblogic.Delployer ...." and it worked! It doesn't work
from ant. So, you think there's some conflict between my ant and weblogic's ant
    task "WLDdeploy"?
    Thanks,
    Vas

  • Problems with weblogic clustering in 6.1 sp3

We have spent a lot of time trying to get our application deployed to
a cluster using weblogic 6.1 sp3 and we consistently receive a failure
when we attempt to start the managed server. This was not a problem
with weblogic sp1--we got our application to deploy to the cluster
successfully; although there was another weblogic bug there with
clients accessing EJB clusters--we won't go into that here...
We have tried this on both a Windows 2000 machine and an HP machine
running weblogic sp3. The same error occurs on both platforms.
The error in deploying our application to the cluster against weblogic
sp3 looks to have to do with our custom security realm. Inside our
custom realm we make use of a configurable providerUrl which we set to
the cluster address/port. The custom realm makes a call where it
              passes in the providerUrl to:
                   weblogic.management.Helper.getMBeanHome(..., providerUrl,...)
When we have our providerUrl set to the cluster address/port--e.g.,
                   t3://clustermember1:7001
and attempt to start the managed server we get the error:
              Starting WebLogic Server ....
              Connecting to http://adminserver:7117...
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
              Exception raised:
              weblogic.management.configuration.ConfigurationException:
              clustermember1 not found

                   at weblogic.Server.main(Server.java:35)
              Reason: Fatal initialization exception
When we have our providerUrl set to the admin server address--e.g.,
                   t3://adminserver:7117
              everything starts up fine.
Does anyone know why this would work on sp1 and not sp3 of weblogic
              6.1?
We verified that all passwords are correct and everything else we
could determine--any ideas would be helpful.
We don't want the providerUrl to point at our admin server, we want it
to point at the cluster address/port.
When we get the managed server error, we received this error on the
              AdminServer:
              2002-08-15 16:52:23,019 ERROR [ExecuteThread: '11' for queue:

    Bottom line:
In our custom realm we were not handling user guest correctly. Even if you
have guest user disabled, Weblogic seems to have hard-coded guest to
send messages to the cluster every-so-often. Not sure there--couldn't get
an answer out of bea as to exactly why we see guest still being used...
It seems that with sp3, the user guest interaction started happening earlier
than it did with sp1, consequently making our realm code fail when trying to
retrieve the guest user like someone we knew about in our system.
Hence, our getUser and authUserPassword methods now return null for both
users guest and system, making the secondary realm (file realm) be used to
              authenticate and resolve guest & system. BEA helped get our code fixed;
however, we still don't have a lot of depth in understanding Weblogic
              server's use of guest...
Apparently, in 7.x the guest & system user behavior and configuration is
different also... We'll see when we start digging into that migration.

  • Strange Problem with PAR deployment.

    Hi Everybody,
I am undergoing with the strange problem with PAR deployment. When I am deploying any Par file its going successful but when again If I am changing this same PAR file in NWDS and deploying it ... its deploying but not showing the updated deployment version. To see the updated version, every time, I have to go Portal->System Admin->Support->Admin Console and DELETE the existing PAR file. But this procedure takes too time to work on each and every time. Can you help me with some new concept where the new deployed version will get updated on previous one without any manual process or if this something related to cache problem then how to work out?
    Thanks,
    Roshan Gupta

    Hi,
If it saves you time you can also deploy from here:
    .../irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.runtime.system.console.ClusterAdminConsole
In some cases (rarely) I observed the behavior you described above.
In thoes cases after deploying the file I click the "clean" button on the bottom, since after the deployment it contains the name of the par you just uploaded it'll save you the time of looking for that par to earase.
After that you have to deploy the par again, but again it's allready in the browse console box.
    Best Regards,
    Nadav.

  • Problem with Refine Mask (Edge) Tool (+Refine Radius Brush)

    Hey all,
I'm a teacher at Vancouver Film School in Canada.
Having some major problems with the Refine Mask tool in Photoshop CS5 (+5.1)
Especially when using the Decontaminate colours check box.
    it eliminates smart objects
it leaves artifacting (especially in areas where I use the Refine Radius tool.) see posted image
these are consistent problems. When I uncheck decontaminate colours, the artifacting doesn't happen and smart objects stay in tact.
Is anyone else having problems with this?
    Also having this problem
sometimes the radius will only increase INSIDE the selection  and not in the center like it should. This is the most frustrating  because it's not consistent but happened on 4 systems yesterday while teaching a class.

    Hi Notsosimpleton,
You most likely already know this stuff.
I have been experimenting with two images with Photoshop.  I agree that masking is a non destructive method of editing your image, but when you choose to use the decontaminate color option the refine edge feature automatically changes from new mask to new layer with mask indicating that the decontamination is destructive.
Smart objects by there nature prevent pixel level modification. From my (general) understanding of the decontaminate color feature, Photoshop is attempting to replace edges which contain colors from the non selected area with colors from the selected area, in turn your smart object needs to be rasterized to allow this process to take place.  This then creates artificating because Photoshop is painting on to edges with color, leaving undesired rubbish around your selection. The majority of this is hidden by the mask.
Changing your selection method or using clone stamp with the blend mode set to color and replace edges using selections from inside the selection area.  Affectively doing what Photoshop would do, but manually.
I am not sure this really helps?, but I always try using other masking methods to achieve the result i.e. channels, paths.  I would be happy to experiment and share the results.

  • HOT deployment problem with WebLogic 5.1sp11

    Hello!
We trying to deploy our EJB (jar contains 5 EJB's) with WebLogic EJB DeployerTool.
When we registered our jar in the weblogic.properties file - everything is OK.
This ejb cotains correct EJB's which are made in EJB 1.1 standard.
In the WebLogic EJB DeployerTool I attach proper WeaWeblogic application server

Is SP11 jars in the client classpath or not, before launching DeployerTool.
If yes, then it looks like a bug. You might want to report this problem to

  • Csa 6.0 problem with software deployment tool

    Hi Guys,
I am having some problems with csa 6.0 and a software deployment tool called capainstaller, it resides on the client and picks up packages on some server shares and executes them from there, or copies it locally. We have added it to the class that defines mass software deployment like we did in 5.2, which works fine in 5.2, in 6.0 we are getting alot of applications getting put into @untrusted, for some reason. I can't figure out if i am supposed to make general exeptions for shares and local directories where the deployment tool reads its packages from ? In that case which classes should i modify, i am seeing alot of classification from the module called Security - Untrusted Content Classification, and this gives me alot of headaches.

Well, the Mass Software Deployment class, is where you are supposed to put marimba, in 5.2 this was fine, and worked for most of the installations i have done. in 6.0 the big break came when i found out that you can't use UNC network paths in a file set, it just doesn't work. If you put it is a literal straight in the same field as the altiris and sms are in the built-in rules, that works, maybe your marimba agent is also part locally installed and part gotten from the network like ours is ?

Are you trying to make an EJB 1.1 CMP bean or an EJB 2.0 CMP bean.
It looks like you have an EJB 1.1 ejb-jar.xml, but have requested an EJB 2.0 cmp descriptor.
Take a look at examples/ejb/basic/containerManaged and ejb20/basic/containerManaged for the 2 examples.

  • Problem with WebLogic 10.3.3, Apache 2.2.3 and WebLogic Apache proxy plugin

I have a problem with using Apache 2.2.3 as a WebLogic SSL proxy. I have Apache 2.2 running and successfully configured an SSL cert, config in ssl.conf is...
    <VirtualHost secure.daftdonkey.com>
    # Setup SSL for secure.daftdonkey.com
    ServerName secure.daftdonkey.com
    SSLEngine On
    SSLCertificateFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.crt
    SSLCertificateKeyFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.key
    SSLCertificateChainFile /oracle/secure/gd_bundle.crt
    </VirtualHost>
    This works fine
Now I want Apache to proxy requests to my WebLogic Server and secure them over SSL as well
    e.g. a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service goes to https://weblogic.internal.site/service
I have downloaded and configured the weblogic module and tested it handling traffic for HTTP and that worked, then I switched the WebLogic module to use SSL.
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl.so
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicHost weblogic.internal.site
    WebLogicPort 16101
    Debug ALL
    SecureProxy ON
    WLSSLWallet /oracle/secure/my-wallet
    WLLogFile /tmp/wl-proxy.log
    </IfModule>
    <Location /service>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    </Location>
Starting Apache throws the error. I think this is my main problem, i've searched support.oracle.com and not found anything.
[Mon Jun 07 23:00:48 2010] [crit] (20014)Internal error: WL SSL Init failed for server: (null) on 0

I found the answer to this. The documentation is not clear enough, LD_LIBRARY_PATH MUST be set and MUST have a pointer to the directory where the SSL .so modules are. I wrote up a blog article explaining the configuration and detailed this issue.

  • Problems with EAR deployment

When creating an ear-file (using ant 1.6.3) I get an EAR file that I can perfectly examin with the jar tool, I can even unzip it. All jars within can be unzipped as well. The ear file does contain an META-INF/application.xml file as well as a META-INF/sun-application.xml file but whenever I try to deploy, I get an error indicating that there are problems with the zip file.
Running the verifier manually on the ear file gives the following:
    STATIC VERIFICATION RESULTS
    NUMBER OF FAILURES/WARNINGS/ERRORS
    # of Failures : 0
    # of Warnings : 0
    # of Errors : 1

Anyone an idea where to look?

Are you using SP2? If not, try it, as BEA have fixed some tld-related bugs.

    Hi Tusha
Looking at your installers, I feel there is some inconsistency.
    1. wls1031_win32
    2. ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1
ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1 - This is latest and greatest version of SOA 11gR1 Patch Set 2 (11.1.1.3.0). This CAN be installed only on Latest Version of Weblogic Server which is WLS 10.3.3. Where as you have older version of WLS which is wls 10.3.1.
So best is to download this latest version of WLS 10.3.3. Then install SOA on top of this WLS. Create SOA Domain which has one admin server and ofcourse one managed server soa_server1. And you should be all set. I hope you already ran rcu.cmd (Repository Creation Utility) that creates schemas for all SOA Stuff. This RCU is pre-requisite for SOA.
I have same setup on my side and it works fine. I could start my soa_server1 without any issues. Instead of WLS 10.3.3, I used WLS 10.3.2 as that was only available few days back when SOA 11g R1 was released.
    Some links for reference:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/soa/soasuite/collateral/downloads.html
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/wls_main.html (you can download just Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.3) ZIP Installer - instead of first 2 installers that has OEPE etc)

  • Problem with weblogic server help me...!

    HI,
i have developed and application that was deployed successfully in Tomcat 5.0, but it was not with weblogic 8...
plz help me... thanks in advance..

In this case, I would call the OP up from asking a stupid question, with no details at all, rather than Soultech for responding to it in humorous manner.
Hence why I included that link to "How to ask smart questions"
"It doesn't work on Weblogic" will not get any helpful responses
    WHAT doesn't work?
    Is there an error message?
    What have you tried?
The onus is on the OP to post a clear and concise description of his problem, along with error messages/stack traces, anything else that may help diagnose the issue.
I believe Soultechs post was justified, if a little short.
