Problems compiling 64-bit version of openldap-2.2.29

Anyone try to build a 64-bit version of openldap-2.2.29? We tried and the assembler is giving us a problem:

  • ITunes says that my iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed.  Says to install 64-bit version.  Problem is 64-bit version is installed already.

I have a 64 GB iPod operating on iOS 5.1.1 (says software is up to date).  I finally was able to download iTunes 64 Bit to my computer and open it.  Now when I connect my iPod to the computer, I get a message saying "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed.  Tun the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes."    I have removed iTunes from my computer and downloaded the 64-bit version again and installed it.  I still get the same message.

    Hi antiklady,
I see that you may be having an issue with compatibility of iTunes when connecting your iOS device. This sort of issue can arise if you have two versions of iTunes installed on your computer, which I feel may be the case. Here is an article that can tell you how to identify the version of iTunes that you have open:
iTunes: How to find which version you are using - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201521
If the version of iTunes that is opened is not the version you are required to use for the iOS device in question, try searching through your computer or applications folder to see if there may be two versions of iTunes installed on your computer. Then, uninstall the version that is incompatible using these steps:
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support

  • Problem upgrading 32 bit version moved to Windows 7 64 bit machine

I used the PC Mover program I bought from Dell to move all my applications from mu old Dell Dimension with XP SP3 to my new DellStudio with Windows 7 Professional. The 32 bit version of iTunes won't uninstall or repair. The message says "This iTunes installer is intended for 32 bit versions. Please install the 64 bit version." However, when I try to download and install the 64 bit version, it downloads and starts the install, but then I get basically the same message that the installer is a 32 bit one. Can someone please get me the steps to fix this?

Have you tried downloading and saving the installer then runnning it, rather than selecting Install from the download screen?

  • I am running an old legacy Sun server (Solaris10 U7) and need a compiled 64 bit version of liblpSolve55. I don't have studio or R, and very limited knowledge of C.

Can anyone help, or point me in the correct direction ?
I have tried downloading source and compiling but get all sorts of gcc compiler errors, and as I'm not conversant with compilers, C or anything similar, need a precomiled version of this library.
    Any help very gratefully received.

That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

  • Visual Studio compiling 64 Bit Plugin for InDesign Server CS5

    Hello guys,
Again I have a problem compiling 64 bit plugins, but this time in windows environments, the 32 bit compiling works fine (also on 64 bit machines). The first thing I've done was creating a new project configuration for 64 bit environments copying the 32 bit settings. Now I changed the precompiled libraries to use the 64 bit ones and changed the output directories. After that the compilation process completed without errors, but the resource files have not been copied to the output directory (the directory for them has been created, but it remains empty). Adding the created plugin into the servers directory ends up with a server message that the plugin could not be recognized. Have I missed something that is necessary for compiling 64 bit plugins?
I'm using the 64 Bit Developer Version of the indesign server CS5. The operating system is a Windows Server 2008 x64 R2 with Visual Studio 2008.
    Thanks!
P.S. a plugin compiled with 32 bit settings (including 32 bit libraries) also works for the 64 bit version of the server, so does it make any difference if I'm using 32 bit or 64 bit libraries?

The libraries were all correct (all using 64-bit).  The problem was a pathing issue.  libxml2 needs iconv.dll, but it couldn't find the 64-bit version that I built.  Once it found it, everything worked correctly.
The funny thing about depends.exe is that it isn't right all the time.  For example, if you open one of the 64-bit .aip files that ships with Illustrator (rename it to .dll first), you'll see what I'm talking about.  It complains that you're mixing x86 and x64 CPU types, even though you're not.
The program I used to discover my issue is Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx).  I've been using it for years and love it.

Try downloading the trial. It ought to detect that you have a 64-bit system.
You aren't using Vista, are you? PSE 13 requires at least win 7 and I think a few folks with vista have gotten a similar error message on trying to install it.

  • Compatibility of Adobe Reader XI with Windows 8, 64 bit version appears to be a problem. Ideas?

Whenever, I load Adobe XI (which seems to be the only version compatible with Windows 8, I get a "No default mail client" error. has anyone found a solution? Is Adobe working on a fix?
(I use a Dell Lattitude E6530 notebook with Windows 8 and Microsoft Office 2013 64 bit version installed).
    Your replies appreciated.
    Arthur

You can get previous versions of reader from: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/
Regarding your problem, you need to send some more information like the machine RAM usage and CPU usage when Reader 11 freezes. A screenshot would help.
Does other applications work correctly on your machine?

  • Is there a 64-bit version of the CC compiler itself?

    Hello,
We have a large (~4k lines) .cpp file which brings in a very large number of templates. On our v440 we see the compiler using more and more memory until it reaches 2Gb when it falls over with the message
"Insufficient memory is available for compilation to continue."
    sun02% uname -a
    SunOS sun02 5.8 Generic_117350-05 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V440
    sun02% CC -V
    CC: Sun C++ 5.8 Patch 121017-02 2006/04/19
    sun02% file /opt/v11/SUNWspro/bin/CC
/opt/v11/SUNWspro/bin/CC: ELF 32-bit MSB executable SPARC32PLUS Version 1, V8+ Required, dynamically linked, stripped
Is there a 64-bit version of the compiler which could handle code of this size? The large .cpp will be very difficult to split up.
Interestingly, on our Xeon-based box running Solaris 10, the compilation is very very slow, but does complete OK.
    sun03% uname -a
    SunOS sun03 5.10 Generic_118855-33 i86pc i386 i86pc

    Thanks

Unfortunately, there is no 64-bit version of the compiler.
    Some things you can try:
Reduce the size of individual compilation units (the total amount of source code seen by the compiler in one compilation run).
Re-factor very large functions into smaller ones. During optimized compilation, the memory usage and compilation time is super-linear in the number of basic blocks in one function.
    Reduce the optimization level.
If you have a support contract with Sun, please file a bug report via your support channel. If not, please file a bug report at bugs.sun.com.

  • Problems updating to 12.0 + 64-bit version question

On the first issue: my Firefox 11.0 won't update to 12.0, even when going through the "About Firefox -> Check for updates" path. I know that the release date for 12.0 was today, so I don't understand what's the problem.
On the second issue: is it true that from version 13.0 there will be a 64-bit version of Firefox? If so, are the users going to have the possibility to choose to upgrade to a 64-bit version before updating from 12 to 13?

You are correct, the release date for Firefox 12 is planned for today. However, it probably won't be for a few more hours. so you won't be able to update yet. Try checking for updates through the day, and eventually it will roll out :)
As for the 64bit, there are no plans to make Firefox 13 64 bit. While devs are working on 64 bit Firefox, there is no ETA for when that will arrive. Until it is announced, no one knows how the upgrade process will be performed, but it is likely those with 32 bit firefox will stay with that through upgrades (as the benefits for x64 are small for average users).

I just installed the new iTunes 11.1.4 and when I plug in my iPod touch, it sends me a warning note

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

  • I cannot use itunes with windows 7. I think the problem has something to do with the fact that a 32 bit xp version was loaded on my machine. I can't uninstall it and the 64 bit version will not install.

  • I am facing problems with my adobe illustrator(64-bit) version which I am using on my windows 7 (64-bit) version. When I try to open the application it gives me the following error:

The procedure entry point not found. I have already done a bit of troubleshooting by uninstalling it and re-installing it back again by disabling the anti-virus and windows firewall. It works fine for sometime but after sometime when I log back into my computer it starts giving me the same error. The 32-bit version is working fine but the 64-bit version is giving me this error message and does not start. I have also worked on the system files that could be corrupt but still no progress.
