Problems compiling KVM under windows

Hi there,
We tried to compile KVM under windows platforms and failed.
Compilation failed at the java files under j2me_cldc\tools\jcc
Therefore we do not have: nativeFunctionTableWin.c and nativeRelocationWin.c
Can you please help us to compile the java files or send us the *.c files.
Thanks
Ronny Sherer.
mailto:[email protected]

I had the same trouble and this is what I did to get the KVM to compile.
1. First of all to compile under windows you need a the Visual Basic Compiler and Linker to compile the C files.
Also, in order for the makefiles to work properly, you need to install cygwin with basic command line functions (make,find,pwd...). And you need to place the cygwin commands ahead of the windows commands in your PATH eg set PATH = C:\cygwin;C:\windows.
2. COPY the classes dir in j2me_cldc\bin\common\api
TO the j2me_cldc\api dir
3. Then modify the makefiles - where it has $(JAVAC) imediately after it type -target 1.1
so for example in j2me_cldc\api\makefile the line
$(JAVAC) -g$(DEBUGFLAG) -d tmpclasses -bootclasspath classes \
becomes
$(JAVAC) -g$(DEBUGFLAG) -target 1.1 -d tmpclasses -bootclasspath classes \
NOTE: nowhere did I find anything to suggest that the KVM must be compiled under Java 1.1 but this is what worked for me.

  • Problems with GUI under Windows-NT

    Hi friends,
    I've created a Java-Application which works fine under Windows 2000, Windows XP, Linux and Solaris.
    The only problem I have is with Windows NT.
    When the application starts, the window will open but doesn't display any content. The application is
    working (as I can use keybord-input, keybord-shortcuts and so on), but no display besides an empty
    window...
    I tried different Look&Feels, but no change....
    Do you have any ideas what could be wrong?
    Thanks a lot,
    Chris
    P.S.: JDK is 1.4.2_04

    Try adding the argument -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true on the launcher.

  • Executing compiled file under windows

    Hi there,
    i got the following problem:
    i installed the jdk 1.5.0_06 on windows xp
    i did set environmental variables (Path, JAVA_HOME)
    i compiled a simple HelloWorld.java program
    no problems there, result was HelloWorld.class
    but when i want to start the whole thing the only thing i get is an exception.
    i tried:
    java HelloWorld.class
    java HelloWorld
    both tries resulted in:
    "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorld"
    i looked the exception up on java site, which brought me following result:
    "public class NoClassDefFoundError
    extends LinkageError
    Thrown if the Java Virtual Machine or a ClassLoader instance tries to load in the definition of a class (as part of a normal method call or as part of creating a new instance using the new expression) and no definition of the class could be found.
    The searched-for class definition existed when the currently executing class was compiled, but the definition can no longer be found. "
    now im pretty new to java programing and wouldnt call myself a pro c/c++ programer either... so i dont have any clue what the problem is about the whole thing. would be very thankful for any hints.
    i add the java code of the helloworld program, maybe its helpful...:
    thnx in advance
    public class HelloWorld /* extends object */ {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              System.out.println("Hello World!");
              int a, b, c;
              a = 17;
              b = 21;
              c= (a*a)+(b*b);
              for (int i=0; i<10; i++)
                   System.out.println(i);
         } //main
    } // HelloWorld

    Simple classpath issue. Research what the "classpath" is for. In the meantime, this simple example would be fixed like this:
    java -classpath . HelloWorld

    When i try to install itunes 7.1 a message dialog asking me for the path where iTunes.msi file is located appears and when i click cancel this message appears:
    Impossible to remove the older version of iTunes. Contact Technical support.
    And i can't install the new version
    Is there a way to manually remove older iTunes version and all the registry entries?

    Try this to see if you can get around the problem.
    1. open Local Disk C: in My Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    2. Open the Program Files folder.
    3. Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    4. Right click the iPod folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    5. Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    6. Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder.
    7. Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    8. Restart your computer.
    9. Go into Add/remove programs and run a repair on itunes, this will rebuild the folders that you just deleted from the program files.

  • Problems with Tuxedo8.0 under Windows 2003 Server

    Hello All.
    Could you please help me?
    When we were choosing which OS to install on our Tuxedo developers server we
    decided
    to try Windows 2003 server. We did not suppose that we could have any
    problems
    with this choise. But we have!
    We use it with DB 7.2 workgroup edition and Tuxedo 8.0 (PatchLevel 172).
    When one of server processes crashes (for example by exit(1) or by
    exception)
    (it happend not so rarely, because this server is actively used in
    development
    and testing processes) we cannot restart this server process!
    When I write "restartsrv -i SrvId" in command line nothing happens.
    When I write "tmboot -i SrvId" it says "Duplicate server".
    When I write "tmshutdown -i SrvId" it just hangs and I have to wait for 10
    minutes
    while it says "CMDTUX_CAT:949: WARN: Shutdown failed. 0 processes stopped."
    Tuxedo WebAdministration conlsole says almost the same - "Failed to
    deactivate SRVGROUP/200
    (still in state ACTIVE)-10:CMDTUX_CAT:1689: ERROR: Could not shutdown any
    servers".
    As a result any server crash (including expected) leads to 15 minutes
    waiting!!!
    As you understand it cound not be accepted!... and it is very annoying. :-)
    This problem never happened under Windows 2000 server (a week before I
    returned from site
    installation where this software works fine under Windows 2000 server).
    How can we solve this problem?
    Or should we downgrade our OS to Windows 2000?
    With regards,
    Dmitry.

    Dmitry,
    Try a bbclean from the tmadmin command line to clean up the BBL so you will be
    able to restart the server using the tmboot command.
    In addition to this check the values for SCANUNIT and SANITYSCAN in the ubbconfig.
    The observation that it takes 15 minutes for TUXEDO to discover that your server
    has crashed suggests they have values that might be too high.

  • Image.getScaledInstance() does not always work under Windows Vista

    Hi:
    I've run into some intermittent image scaling problems under Windows Vista (minus Aero effects) that I never experienced with the same program, same image(s), running same Java version under XP. The images I'm using are all JPEGs, and the problem appears to affect approx 1 out of 3 grayscale images (no color ones so far) w/o respect to size (ie: small ones can be problems while larger ones will work). Java -version shows 1.6.0_02-b06. I was wondering if anyone else out there has seen this, or can point out what I may be doing wrong. Sample code to duplicate follows.

       // Main Entry Point
       public static void main(String args[]) {
          Frame f = new VistaProblem();
    } // end VistaProblem

    That does indeed appear to be a bug. I looks like it's having problems with the alpha value in the color model, so a possible workaround would be to change the color model the image uses before scaling. This may entail creating a new BufferedImage and drawing the old image into it.

    Here are some possible solutions:
    1. The installation notes state that you must be logged on as Administrator to be able to install 9i. Are you logged on as the Administrator? Being logged on as user01 with Administrator priviledges isn't the same as Administrator.
    2. Is the disk full? If I remember my installation correctly, I needed 3 times the size of the files. The documentation will tell you how much space you need.
    Hope these two questions help

  • Photoshop CS4 Photomerge doesn't work under windows 8.1

    Hello!
    I have Photoshop CS4. Whereas it worked very well under Windows XP SP 3, I have a problem using it under Windows 8.1.
    Photomerge doesn't work. As soon as I click on it, It shuts down Photoshop.
    I have a trial version of Photoshop CS 5 and photomerge works well in this version.
    I tried to solve the problem through Windows but it didn't work.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

    Hi @inetdude
    Since there is no full feature software and driver for 8 or 8.1, I am not sure what else to suggest other than for you to reach out to Microsoft. The driver you are using is an in-OS driver, perhaps they can help you.

  • Running DS-5 armcc compiled code (PIC) under Windows EC 2013

    Hi All,
    i just wanted to know if it is generally (officially) supported to run code that is compiled via the armcc (5.03) from DS-5 under Windows Embedded Compact 2013. Or if this is discouraged (reasons?).
    The problem i have:
    The bootloader contains some code that must be run during Windows EC Startup. So this code is loaded from the Flash, copied to RAM (reserved and commited via VirtualAlloc and marked as executable) and then the functions are called via FunctionPointers.
    The code is compiled and linked as position independent and the stack base register is set accordingly before any function is called via pointer and reset when it returns.
    This works in about 9 out of 10 tests without problems. But sometimes i get all sort of exceptions (Data Abort, Prefetch Abort, Unknown Instruction, ...). Most (if not all) of the time they occur when the position independent code runs on one of the two
    cores.
    The code runs on an i.MX6DQ (dual).
    If i only enable one core, i can't reproduce the problem (i assume that multicore-handling and multithreading in WinEC 2013 Update 10 is really well tested and works without problems, so this can't be the real reason).
    I've thoroughly checked and debugged the code, i'm really sure there is no illegal access or other problem with the code itself.
    Could it be a problem to call code compiled via DS-5 armcc? I've compared assembler code that Visual Studio/Platform Builder generates with code that DS-5 generates (but i'm no assembler expert). I can't see any obvious special code that is added by Visual
    Studio/Platform Builder (i.e. that functions need) that is not there in the DS-5 code.
    Best Regards
    Sebastian

    So I think you could be able to image some code for ROM from another compiler and without knowledge of Windows CE. However, if the code will be called from Windows CE, this becomes more difficult requiring very careful isolation from the
    MMU state, processor state, kernel/user mode, etc. Code that works great when called from the bootloader might not work at all from Windows CE itself. The main problem with mixing code from different compilers is the object file format and conventions for
    entry and public names. Very unlikely that you'd be able to "link" code from any other compiler with PB-compiled code.
    You might think about the x86 image which can easily call BIOS from the bootloader but which can't even begin to call BIOS from CE itself. The problem isn't the compiler (which is different), but the operating environment differences and assumptions.

    (I had previously posted this in another forum on the Internet, copy 'n' pasted here to save me a bit of typing) I can't seem to to get my joysticks and/or gamepads functioning in a DOS shell under Windows XP. I can calibrate the gamepad within Windows XP and it appears to be working fine (my MIDI keyboard works fine as well, it uses the gameport of the sound card too). In a DOS shell (as well as under DOSBox), the gamepad isn't recognized at all. I tried several DOS games (e.g. DOOM/Duke 3D/Death Rally/Stargunner/etc...), as well as a little QBasic joystick tester that I had whipped together years ago... no dice, the gamepad isn't recognized under DOS (or DOSBox); even though in Windows XP (in the 'Game Controllers' applet in the control panel) it works just fine. Windows games work fine with the gamepad, but nada in a DOS shell or DOSBox. Note that I had never previously checked if the gameport and/or joysticks were working on this PC under DOS, I just discovered it the other day. Any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated (edit) P.S. One thing that I just tried: I booted from a flash dri've to W98 DOS and loaded the SBLi've DOS drivers. The gameport/gamepad works fine like this (with my JoyTest utility, as well as the gameport being reported in MSD). So, I'm sure that the gameport and gamepad is woking under nati've DOS, it simply isn't recognized in a DOS shell under Windows XP. ('nuther edit) In Windows' device manager, the gameport is listed as 'Creative Game Port', with I/O address of DF08-DF0F. The 'Use automatic settings' checkbox and 'Change setting' button is grayed out, so's I can't piddle with those settings. In the old(er) DOS/W9x days (with standard non-PNP hardware) the standard gameport address was (what was it's) 200 (maybe 20?). Could this be the problem, that the Creative Game Port I/O address is set for an obscure address (that I can't seem to change)? Maybe there is a way to change it to a standard setting? 7
