Problems, no end in sight!

posted around a week or so ago, detailing how my xbox gaming was suddenly very laggy, and was unplayable.
thought i'd sorted it, by making my hardware, cabling etc as good as possible, it seems not though, its really getting me down, all i mainly use my connection for is 90% xbox live, 10% internet browsing with a few downloads here and there.
i will detail my setup, and then i will show various screens taken minutes ago.
master socket downstairs, filter plugged directly into test socket for hopefully best performance, 1 metre modem cable from filter to home hub, 5 metre belkin ethernet cable going up through ceiling to room above and directly into xbox 360.
all ports forwarded concerning xbox live, nat type is open, xbox live connection tests reports everything is fine, with no router messages regarding nat, also in fifa 12 it shows nat as green and open.
pc connects wirelessly to home hub, and browsing and downloading are great, download speeds are lightning quick, and browsing is a joy. downloads on the xbox are really quick also, with a recent demo of 1.77 gb, downloading in just over 35 mins.
the problem is lag, and from what i read and hear, its all to do with jitter and ping. im not great technical wise, but it seems to me that my connection is great, then suddenly goes **bleep** for a few seconds then is great again. this would fall in line with what is happening when im gaming, and also when im running speedtests and pingtests.
in any test i run, the download and upload speeds are always roughly the same, and im more than happy with them, but if i run the tests a few times, the ping and jitter will often be good for most, and then there is a huge spike with a stupid result with huge figures, which, again, fall in line with whats happening on the xbox.
my 18 month contract is up in 2 months, in my head im already browsing for different isp's, but to be honest in my heart i want to stay, up until 1 month ago, i have not had 1 single problem, and that is close to unheard of when the company is as big as bt, with as many customers as they have and also for 16 months straight!
hopefully below you will see various tests i have just run, that maybe someone could identify issues with.
i look forward to hopefully getting this fixed, as its really getting me down!

also worth mentioning maybe, as id ran out of things to try, i asked last night to be put onto fastpath, just to see if that would maybe improve things. if anymore information is needed, just ask!

  • Line Drop Fiasco, Canceled Appointments, No End In Sight

    To Whom it May Concern: I want to thank you, Comcast Xfinity for teaching me a lot over the past 2 weeks. Let me explain.My husband, 2 year-old son, and I moved on May 27 – May 31. We were previous Comcast customers and have always been incredibly happy with the interface of the Comcast X1 platform. It seemed like a no-brainer that we would keep it at the new home, just about 4 miles down the road. On May 2, using your “Movers Edge” program I put in a request to disconnect service on May 30 and begin service at the new house on May 30. I was pleased at how easy of a process this was.May 30 comes and a person shows up… on time. However, the appointment was incredibly short. Immediately the technician asks if Comcast has already been out. We need a line drop and someone will call me. On June 1, I returned my old equipment to a Comcast Service Center. I ask the staff to check on my request. They tell me that it still has the original request open and that someone will call me. On June 3, I finally call Comcast the check on the status. I am told that the line drop will occur on Tuesday, June 9 between 1-5pm. I chatted with an agent on June 4. This agent tells me that everything will happen at the same time. They will fix my line in my yard and I will also get all of my boxes and modem. I am elated with this news! I called again on June 5 to confirm. I am told that no, they cannot do the line drop and installation in one day. However, they are doing a special request so that I can get it all in one day. I am frustrated that the story has changed, but happy at how helpful the agent was. I call again to confirm on Monday. I am once again told that the appointments cannot occur on the same date. The next installation date in Thursday, June 18. I am furious. I am thinking for a week that the line drop and installation will occur at the same time. I ask them to get me an earlier date. I am not waiting till the 18th. I am given an appointment on Friday, June 12 from 1-4pm. Tuesday June 9th! I am supposed to get the line drop. An end is in sight. I call at 1pm as I am leaving work to check on the line drop. The agent tells me that they see the special request, however, she gets an error when she tries to see more. The agent tells me to call back in a couple of hours. I call back at 3pm. The agent tells me that she is also getting an error. She tells me that she’s putting in a request and someone will call me back in the next 30 minutes. I give it an hour. No phone call. I call back. The agent now tells me that this kind of request requires 24 hours for someone to return the call. I still get no response regarding why the line drop was not complete. 24 hours goes by. No phone call from anyone at Comcast. On Wednesday, June 10, in the morning, I chat with someone via the web services and I am told that they’re waiting for a permit. I had to beg for this information. Initially they said that it was scheduled but provided no additional information. I demanded that they tell me more. They tell me that the installation should still take place on June 12. I call again Wednesday afternoon. I am told that the line drop requests actually have a 10-day window. Information I was never told until now. I ask about my installation on Friday, June 12. They tell me this will not happen. I am transferred to billing, and sales, and technical support. None of these sound like departments that can assist me. When are they going to do the line drop? When am I going to get service? Should I give up and go to FIOS, it’s more than a week later. I am finally given new dates. Line drop on Monday, June 15 and installation on Thursday, June 18th. With my new information that line drops have a 10-day window, and that they need a permit, I ask how likely this appointment will still occur. No one is able to give me an answer. And with this 10-day window will the line drop really occur on June 25? More than a month after my initial appointment? No one is able to give me an answer. I finally ask for someone in customer service. If I am going to stick with Comcast, how are they going to compensate me for all the hours I have been on the phone, being told different stories? How are they going to compensate me for missed appointments? How are they going to compensate me for going at least 3 weeks without phone/internet/cable? I am told there is nothing they can do. My bill will not be lowered. I already signed up for the multi-room DVR and all the premium channels. They cannot give them to me for free or lower price because I “already have them”. I ask them to lower the plan I signed up for and then compensate me. I and then told that it doesn’t work that way. So after (a minimum) of 3 weeks, I may finally get service but there’s no way to be compensated for all my troubles? Why am I still talking to these folks? Like most people in the 20 something age-range, I google my problems. I come across people that suggest complaining to the county and the FCC. I filed complaints with both. Since this line drop hasn’t occurred, there’s a problem with the infrastructure. The FCC responds and tells me my complaint has been forwarded on. There is a 30-day window for Comcast to respond. So, what have I learned?I have much more patience than I thought I would in this situation. For a week I have been calling Comcast or chatting with Comcast. Some days I was reaching out up to 3 times a day.I trusted Comcast much more than I should have. Every time I talked to someone the story changed. I was given different information, sometimes more information. But it was constantly changing. During the process I was so wrapped up, I didn’t think twice.On two occasions, I was promised that someone would call me back within 24 hours. I received no phone calls, no messages. Not sure what a promise means to Comcast.I learned that you can complain to your county and FCC regarding the cable infrastructure. I had no idea that this was possible. Even if nothing comes of it, it felt good to let important people know that I am struggling.There is no need to get the best package. When you get the package there is no way to compensate you for all your energy, time, and effort lost. There was no way to send me a gift card, give me free DVR or free premium channels. Apparently I already had them even without having service yet.Comcast can make you feel crazy. In addition to believing that everyone is telling me the truth. Why have appointments if no one will show? Why have appointments when it’s really a 10-day window? I ended up feeling like it was a job to make sure Comcast was working on my case. I also felt like I couldn’t just let it go. Just go to FIOS. They’re able to give you service. Just let it go.So that is where I am now. I just have to let it go. There is no need to BEG Comcast to let me be a customer. They have no problems cancelling appointments without notifying me. They have no problem giving me the run around and telling me a different story and excuse every time I call. They have no problem stringing me along for days on end making me think that I’ll get service in the next 3-days, 5-days, etc. They have no problem telling me how “sorry they are” and how they “understand my frustration” but then there is no way to fix it and no end in sight. Not expecting a response. Just be leary if they Comcast tells you that you need a line drop. There are no guarantees. I've read other people saying it took MONTHS.

    Hi,
    I have a problem in end of page event.
    while  if the value changes for a particular field of internal table , new new page should trigger with header and footer which are in top and end of page event.
    while in loop of internal table.
    i have given like  at new field.
                             new-page.
                            endat.
    first its working fine but when field changes its not displaying end of page values for new page.
    but only at the last. its displaying.

    2. Select BSP Application: CRM_IC.
    3. Open 'Page Fragments'.
    4. Open the file WorkspaceBarPage.htm and go to edit mode.
    5. Change the coding in WorkspaceBarPage.htm line 171 like in note 675512

  • Problems with End User License Agreement

    In April this year after trialling Acrobat Pro I decided to take out a year's sub to Acrobat Create. Since that time however I have been unable to open any pdf clicking on a web based (e.g. Google) url. Each time the following message appears - "Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement." I have of course downloaded Acrobat Reader but it makes no difference.
    How do I resolve this problem please?

  • AP Problem on end of Bridge- Others fine

    I have a linksys router on the end of a wi-fi bridge(Bridge is fine). I cannot get any computer on this particular bridge to resolve DNS. Although if I open a command prompt and type "ping google.com" it will come up with googles IP, or any other domain name. However I can access the net.  I have tried other AP's/routers to no avail.
    Router wrt54g on "Home end" of bridge plugged into DSL modem, all computers, wired and wireless work and access net fine.
    Wap54g  on "Sat end" of bridge. This is the site with problems, I can see everything on the other side of bridge. i.e piong other comps, etc.
    Any ideas?

  • OC4J problem and End of TNS data channel

    We are using Oralce 9iAS with OC4J to host our java application. Recently, we kept having problem with the application. The problem is when user enters username and password to login, the application doesn't do anything until we restart OC4J instance. After tracking down all the error log files, it looks like problem happened whenever the application get "SQL Exception: End of TNS data channel" error. I don't know why are we getting this "End of TNS data channel" error. I don't think it is the application's problem.
    1)Does anybody have any idea why?
    2)Does OC4J server need to be restarted every once a while.

    "End of TNS data channel" is usually a message sent by the database when something erroneous is occuring.
    What version of the database, JDBC, and JDK are you using?
    Are you getting any dump files from the database?
    Can you describe a little more about what the application code is doing?

    I have a proxy to file scenario, and i am writing the file using file content conversion.
    In my message type, there can be multiple object records in a single data record, as shown here:

    Recordset Structure: Data_Record, Object_Record
    Content conversion parameters:

    Data_Record.end_seperator: 'nl'
    Object_Record.fieldseperator: ,
    Object_Record.end_seperator: 'nl'
    My requirement is, every data record should be followed by new line character and every object record should be followed by new line character:
    111,222(new line character)
    333,444(new line character)
    But, my current output is:
    111,222,333,444(new line character)
    The problem is, as the data record ends only after object record, i am getting new line character only after object record. (technically, the end tag of data record occurs only after the end tag of object record).
    Now, how can i get a new line character after data record and after object record?

  • Having problems with ending my calls on iphone 5

    When I try to tap end call on my phone the screen goes blank when I take it away form my ear? It will not let me hang up?

    Sounds like a problem with the proximity sensor, which turns off the screen when on a call with the phone is near your face/ear and should turn it back on when the phone moves away again.  Try cleaning the screen, especially near the top by the speaker.  Also try removing your screen protector.

    Hi experts...
    i've implemented the BADI   ORDER_SAVE for some cheks on  transaction save......
    firstly i've confirmed a client, and i've tried to create a contact...press save button, my Z messages are raised and saving is blocked,....I press the back arrow for return on confirmation view..
    then tried to create a new business transaction and as done previously, tried to save, Z messages raised, saving is blocked then i pressed the back arrow.....
    at this point i pressed the end button on IC...and my Z message raised whed i've tried to save the business transaction reappers......
    in debug i've find that the flow logic pass  via BADI ORDER_SAVE although i tried to end the confirmation of account and not to save a document......
    Anybody can help me to understand this, and help me????

    Here is the code. I'm a newbi, so it's not good programming
    DAD_14April contains the program with both green and red lights simulating a traffic light.
    DAD_Test3 only has the red LED.
    Still, the program will only run when he highlight execution is selected.
    I have it set to produce a random number, display the red light, detect the signal from the switch, turn off the red light, and record reaction time.
    One more problem: Sometimes, the DAQ assisstant does not start aquiring data fast enough to detect the trigger. How do I get it to start aquiring data as soon as the program begins to ensure that the switch depression is detected?

  • LMS 4.0.1 User Tracking Problem "No end hosts found"

    Hi everybody,
    I have problems with devices that do not appear in the user tracking utility.
    These devices are a cisco WS-C4506-E with Supervisor II-Plus-10GE ​​and two WS-C6509 with Supervisor Engine 720.
    When I start acquisition for the devices I receive following message: "Device unreachable". When I try to watch the end hosts, I get following Message: "No end hosts found."
    I have patched LMS 4.0.1 with CSCto06189 Patch.
    Is there perhaps a solution?

    400 devices - do you mean 400 end users?
    Do they all use a Layer 3 default gateway that is among your discovered and managed devices?
    Have you followed the steps and troubleshooting from around page 24 of this guide?

  • WT 2.5 / WT 2.5.2 - Web Services problem - Missing end tag??

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a J2ME web services client using the wireless toolkit. I used the Stub Generator to create my STUB from my WSDL file.
    With the Wireless Toolkit 2.5 I was getting a "Missing end tag for body or envelope" error when I invoked a web method. I read that this was a problem with that version of the Wireless Toolkit (a parsing problem).
    I then upgraded to Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2. When running my app on the emulator, the "Missing end tag for body or envelope" error went away, and I was successfully invoking web methods, and the results were being parsed fine. However, when I put this .jar on to my handset (a Nokia E70) I still see the "Missing end tag for body or envelope" error!
    Does anyone know why this is?

    The IDE i'm using is NetBeans. I have WTK2.5 and WTK2.5.2 installed. When I flick the "emulator platform" from WTK2.5 to WTK2.5.2 the error "Missing end tag for body or envelope" does go away, and the SOAP response is successfully parsed. However, when I flick it back to WTK2.5, I get the error back. The SOAP message is being sent properly, and a good response is returned. The problem is with parsing the response. WTK2.5 can't seem to parse it, but WTK2.5.2 can.
    So I can get the application working fine (when the emulator platform is set to WTK2.5.2), but the problem is, I still get the error when I install the app on any phone, and I don't understand why???
    If anyone can shed any light on this, i'd be very grateful.
    p.s I've tested the app on the following handsets:
    Sony Ericsson P1i, K800i
    Nokia E70, E61

  • Problems with end tiltles

    hey everyone,
    i am just about to finish a documentary. on the end we want to have the classic rolling title (credits), that my director made in after effects and exported as a quicktime file. it runs slowly from bottom to top.
    but it jitters!! i de-interlaced it but that didn't do the trick. we watched it on a cinema projector as well and there it jitters too!!??
    well, i remembered that someone warned me about that, so it seems to be a common problem, but i don't know what to do about it!
    can anyone help!?

    You need the speed (rate) of the roll (Y pixels moved in n seconds) to be an evenly divisible number of your scan rate. Back in the day when I used AE I would remember the number, but you can't really fix it after its be rendered. Mostly I just use Motions prebuilt credit roll behavior.
