Problems Running a TCP/IP Data Server VI as a Windows XP service

I need to run a TCP/IP data server as a Windows service.  As my first step, I modified the LabVIEW example "Multiple Connections - Server.vi" under the TCP.llb to eliminate all controls with constants.  I can run succesfully the VI under the LabVIEW environment and get the data from other computers in the network using the "Multiple Connections - Client 1.vi"
After read and followed the instructions posted in the document "Creating a Windows NT Service Using LabVIEW", I was able to create the Windows XP service.  The "task manager" shows it running.  A freeware Etherenet port monitor shows it listening.  When I try running my client, the port monitor shows a connection being established but after few seconds goes into a "time_wait" state and stays there.  End result: the client does not get the data.
Any hints will be highly appreciated!

  • Weblogic Server 6.1 as Windows NT Service

    Hi All,
I am running Weblogic Server 6.1 as Windows NT Service with one WAR
    Application Deployed in Production Mode.
My machine is on Windows 2000 Application Server. I am facing a very strange
    problem with the setup.
    Prob 1 :
Sometimes the service unexpactedly terminates ( I ve got the log in
Event Viewer of Win2K saying that myserver service has been terminated 2
times....) !! Can anyone explain why it is terminating like these ? what
could be the possible reasons ?
    Prob 2 :
When i see the logs that are generated i found that the WAR Application
is continuously getting re-deployed and I am getting Deployment Exceptions
for the same WAR files that i couldnt be deployed. This is happening
automatically , I am not re-deploying the app.
What could be the possible reasons ? Can anyone explain this behaviour ?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hello Bhavin,
Are you sure you are running in production mode? Because production vs
development mode is controlled by a parameter in startWebLogic. However,
startWebLogic doesn't matter when you run it as a service. The startup
parameters are set in installNTService, from where they go directly in the
    Windows registry.
We found out that it matters what the timestamp of the packaged file is,
compared to the time WebLogic started. For us, when the timestamp of our
.ear file is earlier than the time WebLogic started, it does not want to
redeploy. Maybe your timestamp is in the future or something??
There are two reasons why you will see "service terminated unexpectedly".
    (a) If you stop the server yourself from the admin console or through the
command line, the beasvc process exits, but Windows doesn't expect that, so
it complains. Windows will not complain if you stop the service through "net
    stop <service>".
However, there is reason (b), when the beasvc.exe process crashes by itself.
We occasionally experience that (WebLogic 6.1 sp1) and we don't know why
either. The only clue is in the weblogic.log file, where the last entry was
something like: NT Performance Pack, I/O error, FD 3456.
If you solve your #1, I would love to hear about it.
    Christo

    Hi Kumar,
    Thanks for the reply.
Well, the size of WAR is not very big, but that needs many other jars inthe
    classpath to get executed.
I suppose the prob # 2 can be solved by Disabling Auto Deployment of
Applications from Console > Mydomain > Application and uncheck thecheckbox
    but I am not sure.
But what is wrong exactly with the setup ? This works perfactly alrightwhen
Weblogic is not running as Windows Service.
can web.xml and weblogic.xml or config.xml be helpful to you in
    understanding the problem ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Any problems running BO XI R1 on Server 2003 "R2" / SP2

Still running BO XI R1 on Server 2003 Standard Edition / SP1 but would like to UPGRADE OS to 2003 "R2" Standard Edition / SP2.   I know R1 is out of support but is anyone running XI/R1 under this OS.  Documentation for R1 only states support for 2003 SP1.   I did open support dialog and they said it should be OK.   Just trying to get a feel if anyone is actually running this configuration in the real world.

I installed SP2 on all my 2003 VM's for both XIR2 and XI 3.x. There are no issues that I know of everything works fine. SP1 used to cause issues on XIR1 with DEP but form the details you supplied I don't see that as an issue. Do you already have SP1 on 2003? Also you said 2003 R2 (which should be past the DEP patch). If that's the case then no issues that I know of.
    Regards,
    Tim

  • Problem running SQL PLUS in Oracle 8i and 9i on Windows XP

I've tried installing both Oracle 8.17 Personal Edition and also 9i in Windows XP Professional (each on a different occassion). I have run into the same problem each time. The installation itself goes fine in both cases, but when I run SQL PLUS, the Log On screen appears for 1-2 seconds then whole thing just closes automatically, so I can't ever access that application which is the only thing I need to work with. Any ideas on what's going wrong? Thanks.

    Patrick,
Well a few things. Did you try TNSPING to see if the listener is up? If it's ok, can you connect with FREE toad? Download Oracle OEM and install that (the SQL net and sql plus portions). If you can't get tnsping to work, sqlplus isn't going too either. I don't know why the sqplus is actually shutting down, but I'm guessing the TNS NAMES entry isnt there (in the tnsnames.ora file). If the tnsnames entry is there then tnsping should work. Get tnsping to work first.
    Tyler.

  • Problem Creating New Data Server

I'm new to ODI and I'm running into a problem with creating a Oracle Data Server for a new project I created. I right click on Oracle under Topology->Physical Architecture->Technology and nothing happens. If I expand oracle and right click on Datatypes, Actions, or Index Type the right click menu items show. Any idea why they won't show for Oracle?? I've tied this on a number of other technologies and get nothing there either.
    Please help!
    AJ

This is installed on my home desktop so no administrator to go to. I'm using the supervisor account to log into the repository.
Here's more information on my install:
Installed on Win 7 64bit with generic ODI 11g install
Oracle 11g with the master/work repositories created
Installed ODI with only the Developer Install (ODI Studio, ODI SSK) option
Any help is appreciate as I seem to have hit a wall with this.

  • Problem running reports

I finally configured and was able to start the reports server on my Solaris box. The listener is running. When I run a report, either by command line using rwrun60 or from a form using RUN_REPORT_PRODUCT, the report kicks off without error but will not finish. I have to kill the process, and no output results. I had no problems when running from NT, so I'd bet the problem is in the configuration not the report itself. Any ideas?

    I'm still working this problem.
I have a printer configured, and have no problem generating report in character mode and send directly to printer.
I did have to add localhost access to Xwindows with
    $ xhost +localhost
Now I have valid display value.
Unfortunately, still having the same problem. rwrun60 kicks off, but gets hung. I have no problems running forms on the this server. Any other ideas?

  • TCP data server or better solution?

    Hi all,
We upgraded our software system from 32 bit to 64 bit then LabVIEW is also upgraded from LabVIEW 2010 x86 to LabVIEW 2010 x64. However, one device of us does not have the 64 bit driver thus in order to make all the devices works seamlessly in one computer as before, I used TCP data server and client. The server and the main VI are set up on the LabVIEW x64 whereas the client, which drives one device with 32 bit driver, is running on the LabVIEW x86 process on the same computer. I used the Simple Data Server and Simple Data Client in Examples of LabVIEW.
Would you please advise me or give me some suggestions for the following questions:
    1. By using this configuration, I can only transfer data in one way. If I want to transfer data in both directions, what should I do? Could you please give me some example codes?
    2. I do not understand clearly the synchronization of the server and the client in this case. For example, when I change the waiting time of server and client, sometimes it freezes the program, sometimes it does not work. Could you advise me the perfect way to set the synchronization (as fast as possible).
    3. Is there any possible solution that could be better than this data server/client approach for my 32 bit driver related problem as described above?
Thank you very much, I appreciate your help.

Could you guys plesae give me some answers/suggestions.
    I appreciate it.

  • Problem Running SSIS Package with a SQL Server Agent

    SQL Server: SQL Server 2012
    VS: Visual Studio 2012
    Hello,
I have been having a problem running SSIS packages by using a SQL Server Agent job. I first created these SSIS packages in a separate IS project in Visual Studio. I imported the packages to the Integration Services (Package
Store) instance on my SQL Server and tried to create a job that would run them from there.
At first I read around about needing a proxy account to allow the agent/packages to access the file system since these packages are importing data from a flat file in the SQL database. So I created a temporary admin user to
use as the user for the agent. I did this by going to Services.msc on the server and linked the account the agent's "logon as". Then arose another issue where I am getting an error about using the incorrect type for my connection managers.
The connection manager "TestFile" is an incorrect type.  The type required is "OLEDB". The type available to the component is "FLATFILE". Source: Data Flow Task Flat File Destination [2]     Description:
    Cannot open the datafile "O:\*****\Success.txt"
I am not sure what this even means as I am getting this error even with a test package that doesn't do anything with the database. I have just two flat file connection managers  in this test project one for grabbing the source file and one for
    creating the new test file.
I am not sure what to do.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
A sub asset master can be created with AS11 only.
You cannot create a asset sub number under a main asset number, in the case, where different set of dep areas needs to be maintained.
When you create a sub asset, all the dep areas will be copied to sub asset's master from main asset master. Since this set of dep areas cannot be different from main asset to sub asset.
    Hopw you understood this.
    Thanks,
    Srinu.

  • Can Oracle run in real time OS(such as PSOS) and communicate with data server by OCI?

    Hi, all!
i have a question to get your help! now my oracle client running in SUN solaris communicate with oracle data server by OCI(oracle call interface). In future, my client system will port to embeded system that will use real time OS, such as PSOS, so i'm afraid that is OCI communicating with data server ok in PSOS environment??? Is there a special driver or OCI lib for PSOS?
    thanks very much!!!
    null

I have no idea which platforms the Oracle client has been ported to. If there exists an Oracle client for PSOS, then you should have no problem with OCI there. If there's no Oracle client for PSOS, then you won't be able to make OCI calls.
Regardless, this probably is a question better addressed to Oracle sales rather than to an ODBC forum.
