Problems setting logo - Forms 11g

I've read the manuals, and followed instructions but still cannot get my company logo to appear in the top right hand section of the window bar for Forms 11g using just a image/icon of GIF/JPG file type in any of my directories on my Linux box. On the other hand I am able to get an image to display when using a "jar" file with images inside a jar file.
Here's what I have done. I made a copy of the default.env in the Web Configuration section and use that one (called padb.env). In that my parameters/values that are relevant to the task at hand:
envFile = padb.env
codeBase = /forms/java
imageBase = <blank> (if left blank then by default it is "documentBase")
logo=mylogo.gif
To confirm is "documentBase" the path: Oracle/Middleware/as_1/forms?
If so then any directory is "relative" to "documentBase"
In my environment configuration my parameter values are:
ORACLE_HOME=/mnt/homes/webapp/Oracle/Middleware/as_1
ORACLE_INSTANCE= /home/webapp/share/Oracle/Middleware/asinst_1
FORMS_PATH=/mnt/homes/webapp/Oracle/Middleware/as_1/forms/dev/padb
Now in the Font and Icon Mapping section I've modified the following:
default.icons.path=icons
default.icons.iconextension=gif
Does this mean that "icons" is a directory relative to "documentBase" which is Oracle/Middleware/as_1/forms?
If so then I have a directory called Oracle/Middleware/as_1/forms/icons and inside here is where my "mylogo.gif" is contained.
And so when I run the form, nothing shows up. It works if I follow the steps and archive the images in a JAR file, but I want to have the option of doing it the other way. Is there a permission issue or is there a bug?
Platform: RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) version 5
Database: Oracle 11g
Forms: Oracle 11g Fusion Middleware - Forms Server 11.1.1
Thanks

I think, you need to add your icons directory as virtual directory in forms.conf in under $OI and also
default.icons.path=icons should be like
default.icons.path=/forms/icons
or you can try with http://machinemame:port/forms/icons
Okay I'm not to sure but what would be the exact syntax I would have to write in the "forms.conf" file to create this virtual mapping because in the documentation it does not mention modifying this file. It seems straightforward that if I put in a directory "relative" to documentBase then it should read from that directory.
+4.7.3 Deploying Application Icons+
When deploying an Oracle Forms application, the icon files used must be in a Web-enabled format, such as JPG or GIF (GIF is the default format).
By default, the icons are found relative to the DocumentBase directory. That is, DocumentBase looks for images in the directory relative to the base directory of the application start HTML file. As the start HTML file is dynamically rendered by the Forms servlet, the forms directory becomes the document base.
For example, if an application defines the icon location for a button with myapp/<iconname>, then the icon is looked up in the directory forms/myapp.

  • Problem while install forms 11g

    dear sirs
    when i install forms and report 11g it give me error about jvm, and i try to install java se to solve the problem, but problem still
    pls tell me how to solve or how to install this jvm, known that i use operating system windows 7 64bit

    The problem is that you are trying to install a version of Forms 11g which needs a 64 bits JVM and you have a 32 bits JVM.
    So you should install a 64 bits JDK and a 64 bits Weblogic (because the weblogic that comes with jdeveloper is a 32 bits weblogic).
    Then you will be able to install the Forms you are trying to install, also look at this link to set the JAVA_HOME if you are installing on windows:
    https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF25/Set+JAVA_HOME+variable+in+Windows

  • Problem with installing Forms 11g on clients

    Hi all,
    I have successfuly installed weblogic server and Oracle Forms 11g on a server and everything works fine. I need to install Forms 11g on different clients for developers. My question is that do i need to install Weblogic on every single client or i can use the one that i have installed on my server. If i can use the one that i have installed, please explain how i can do this because i have tried a lot and the installer does not go to next page after asking for email address.
    Thanks in forward,

    p.s. The clients are Win Xp

    Two recommendations:
    1. Read this:
    http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/2007/03/02
    2. If you are new to the product and/or product version, you should probably read the documentation before starting to install. Here is the url to the installation guide. This is a good starting place.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/install.1111/e10421/toc.htm
    The installation guide explains what is needed and how to install.

  • How to set default database selection in forms 11g

    Hello,
    In the past (Forms 10g), we could set the default database by setting userid=@dbname in formsweb.cfg.
    We have migrated to Forms 11g.
    When we set this parameter, we have the message ORA-01017 Invalid Username but the dbname is well set in the connection windows.
    Unfortunately, it generates an error message.
    How can we set the default database setting in forms 11g?
    Thanks in advance for your answer.

    If the middle tier platform is Windows set LOCAL to the db name in the Forms default.env. If the platform is Unix based, set TWO_TASK to the db name in the default.env. This will not prefill the db name field, but with this in place that field can be left empty. Alternatively, you need to create your own custom logon dialog.
    Example:
    LOCAL=dbname
    Or on Unix
    TWO_TASK=dbname

    AFAIK, this is not the correct way to set the image location.
    We call the working directory as context, so inside the context root along with WEB-INF, maintain a folder with name img and put all the images in that directory.
    You can use either .\<image_folder> or the optimum way would be (if you are using JSPs) to use getContext() method and traverse accordingly.
    FYI,,, using getContext() will give you context root directory, from there it is as simple as accessing any other folder.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Cheers,
    Jeets.

    Hi.
    I have a problem when debug a forms in OFM11g, that used.
    the problem is that the forms, in debug mode, raise the error FRM-93652. Only in debug mode.
    I add tha jacob.jar and jacob.dll in the folder ORACLE_HOME/forms/java and Oracle_home/forms/webutil.
    the classpath variable in default.env, has added the jacob.jar file, and in my FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSSPATH Registry variable.
    Can some one help me???.
    Thanks and sorry for my english

    I have the same issue with debug_messages in Forms 11g -- they will not appear. I can, however, run in debug mode and attach the session to Forms Builder 10.1.2.0.2. Thus, when I run in debug mode and check the the Command Line tab under Global/System Variables, DEBUG_MESSAGES is always set to NO regardless of how I set it on the command line. Still works fine in our 10gR2 instances.
    DB 11.1.0.7
    Forms 11.1.1.4
    WebLogic 10.3.4
    AIX 5.3 64-bit
    AIX Java 1.6.0 SR9 FP1
    Client: WinXP JRE 1.6.0_25
    My real issue has to do with a FRM-40734 on EXIT_FORM after ENTER_QUERY or EXECUTE_QUERY have caused the KEY-EXEQRY trigger to erroneously fire -- especially when DO_KEY is involved -- but that's a different and much more problematic story.

    9.     Completed the autodeploy tasks IAW Oracle Semantic Technologies Developers guide.
    10.     Restarted WebLogic Server.
    11.     Attempted to verify the deployment via web browser (http://localhost.localdomain:7001/joseki) and received an Error 404—Not Found From RFC 2068 message vice the Oracle SPARQL Service Endpoint page as expected.
    Am at a loss … can anyone identify where I went wrong and how to fix this problem?

    Here are the steps I used loading Joseki.
    1. Download and Install Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 (10.3.1). For details, see http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/weblogic/.
    2. Ensure that you have Java 1.6 installed, because it is required by Joseki 3.4.0.
    3. Download Joseki 3.4.0 (joseki-3.4.0.zip) from http://sourceforge.net/projects/joseki/files/Joseki-SPARQL/.
    4. Unpack joseki-3.4.0.zip into a temporary directory. For example:
    mkdir /tmp/joseki
    cp joseki-3.4.0.zip /tmp/joseki
    cd /tmp/joseki
    unzip joseki-3.4.0.zip
    5. Ensure that you have downloaded and unzipped the Jena Adaptor for Oracle Database, as explained in Section 7.1.
    6. Create a directory named joseki.war at the same level as the jena_adaptor directory, and go to it. For example:
    mkdir /tmp/joseki.war
    cd /tmp/joseki.war
    7. Copy necessary files into the directory created in the preceding step:
    cp /tmp/jena_adaptor/joseki/* /tmp/joseki.war
    cp -rf /tmp/joseki/Joseki-3.4.0/webapps/joseki/StyleSheets /tmp/joseki.war
    8. Create directories and copy necessary files into them, as follows:
    mkdir /tmp/joseki.war/WEB-INF
    cp /tmp/jena_adaptor/web/* /tmp/joseki.war/WEB-INF
    mkdir /tmp/joseki.war/WEB-INF/lib
    cp /tmp/joseki/Joseki-3.4.0/lib/*.jar /tmp/joseki.war/WEB-INF/lib
    cp /tmp/jena_adaptor/jar/*.jar /tmp/joseki.war/WEB-INF/lib
    cp $ORACLE_HOME/md/jlib/sdordf.jar /tmp/joseki.war/WEB-INF/lib
    cp $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/ojdbc6.jar /tmp/joseki.war/WEB-INF/lib
    Note that in the last command, you can specify ojdbc6.jar instead of ojdbc5.jar if you are using JDK 6.
    9. Using the WebLogic Server Administration console, create a J2EE data source named OracleSemDS. During the data source creation, you can specify a user and password for the database schema that contains the relevant semantic data against which SPARQL queries are to be executed.
    If you need help in creating this data source, see Section 7.2.1, "Creating the
    Required Data Source Using WebLogic Server".
    7.2.1 Creating the Required Data Source Using WebLogic Server
    If you need help creating the required J2EE data source using the WebLogic Server admin console, you can follow these steps:
    1. Login to: http://<hostname>:7001/console
    2. In the Domain Structure panel, click Services.
    3. Click JDBC
    4. Click Data Services.
    5. In the Summary of JDBC Data Sources panel, click New under the Data Sources table.
    6. In the Create a New JDBC Data Source panel, enter or select the following values.
    Name: OracleSemDS
    JNDI Name: OracleSemDS
    Database Type: Oracle
    Database Driver: Oracle's Driver (Thin) For Instance Connections Versions: 9.0.1,9.2.0,10,11
    7. Click Next twice.
    8. In the Connection Properties panel, enter the appropriate values for the Database Name, Host Name, Port, Database User Name (schema that contains semantic data), Password fields.
    DATABASE NAME: orcl
    HOST NAME: orcl.localdomain
    PORT: 1521
    DATABASE USWER NAME: nciuser
    PASSWORD: <password>
    CONFIRM PASSWORD: <password>
    9. Click Next.
    10. Select (check) the target server or servers) to which you want to deploy this OracleSemDS data source.
    11. Click Finish.
    You should see a message that all changes have been activated and no restart is necessary.
    10. Go to the autodeploy directory of WebLogic Server and copy files, as follows.(For information about auto-deploying applications in development domains, see: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/deployment/autodeploy.html)
    cd <domain_name>/autodeploy
    cp -rf /tmp/joseki.war <domain_name>/autodeploy
    In the preceding example, <domain_name> is the name of a WebLogic Server domain.
    Note that while you can run a WebLogic Server domain in two different modes, development and production, only development mode allows you use the auto-deployment feature.
    11. Check the files and the directory structure, as in the following example:
    autodeploy/% ls -1R ./joseki.war/
    ./joseki.war:
    application.xml
    index.html
    joseki-config.ttl
    StyleSheets/
    update.html
    WEB-INF/
    xml-to-html.xsl
    ./joseki.war/StyleSheets:
    joseki.css
    ./joseki.war/WEB-INF:
    lib/
    web.xml
    ./joseki.war/WEB-INF/lib:
    arq-2.8.0.jar
    arq-2.8.0-tests.jar
    icu4j-3.4.4.jar
    iri-0.7.jar
    jena-2.6.2.jar
    jenatest-2.6.2.jar
    jetty-6.1.10.jar
    jetty-util-6.1.10.jar
    joseki-3.4.0.jar
    junit-4.5.jar
    log4j-1.2.12.jar
    lucene-core-2.3.1.jar
    ojdbc5.jar
    sdordfclient.jar
    sdordf.jar
    servlet-api-2.5-6.1.10.jar
    servlet-api-2.5.jar
    slf4j-api-1.5.6.jar
    slf4j-log4j12-1.5.6.jar
    stax-api-1.0.1.jar
    wstx-asl-3.2.9.jar
    xercesImpl-2.7.1.jar
    12. Start or restart WebLogic Server.
    13. Verify your deployment by using your Web browser to connect to a URL in the following format (assume that the Web application is deployed at port 7001): http://<hostname>:7001/joseki
    You should see a page titled Oracle SPARQL Service Endpoint using Joseki, and the first text box should contain an example SPARQL query.
    This is where I got the http error message instead of the Oracle SPARQL Service Endpoint using Joseki screen.

  • To set access key for push button in oracle forms 11g

    Dear Team,
    I have following setup:-
    We are using oracle database 11gR2
    Oracle Forms & reports : 11.1.2
    O.S : Windows 7 Professional
    We have migrated oracle forms version from 6i to 11g
    In oracle forms 6i in save button's property palette we set access key as 'S', so when we press alt+S cursor move to save button, same is not working in oracle forms 11g.
    What changes I have to made in new version so that after pressing alt+S cursor will move to save button.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

    You will need to define your custom key map in the key mapping file you use. Typically fmrweb.res or fmrpcweb.res. Edit the file in a text editor and take a look to figure out where you need to make the change.This is wrong! The OP is talking about the Access Key (key mnemonic's) of a button. This has nothing to do with the mapping of keys in the frmweb.res, etc., files.
    @parapr, You don't mention the Java version installed and you don't mention if your OS is 32-bit or 64-bit. Likely, this issue could be related to an incompatible Java version. We use Access Keys in our 11g R2 application and they work just fine. Our Java version is 1.6.0_31. If you are using Java 1.7.0 - this version is not yet certified with Oracle Forms and I would recommend you downgrade to 1.6.0 (latest version).

  • Oracle Reports In Oracle Forms 11g Parameter problem.

    Hello techies,
                I am using Weblogic server 10.3.5 with oracle forms 11g at windows 7.I have a report that is Bar_code.rdf.It has two parameters as:
    P_1---->character type---->accepts the options(barcode generated or barcode not generated)
    P_2---->Number type------->accepts the subgroupitemId.
    This report is well working with oracle report builder. Now I tried to run it from my oracle forms.It runs but it does not accept Parameter P_2. I have used
    sParms := 'P_1='||:L_BAR||' P_2='||TO_NUMBER(:TXT_ITM_GRP);
    set_report_object_property(roRepid,report_other,sParms||' paramform=yes');
    set_report_object_property(roRepid,REPORT_SERVER,sReportServer);
      v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(roRepid);
    sJob := SUBSTR(v_rep,LENGTH(sReportServer)+2);   --
    But there is a parameter form is shown but when i click submmit query the,,,,there is
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.5.1 500 Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
    please give me the solution
    thank you
    regards
    aaditya

    Hi
    are there character symbol appeared in your parameter ?
    i've suffering for some unexpected error for parameter value end up with slash , like D:\temp\   ....
    and oracle sr (support) says that with workaround mechanism (add additional slash like D:\temp\\ ) they have not plan to fix this issue .
    hope this helpful for you.

  • Little Problem with Policy Setting in EM 11g

    Hi all !!
    I wanna revoke some privileges such as UTL_HTTP, UTL_FILE for Database Security
    But I don't know if I can revoke above privileges by disabling them in Policy Rule Setting in EM 11g instead of using SQL*plus ???
    Regards

    I've disabled some Pocily rules (Execute Privileges on UTL_FILE) in EM 11g . I just wonder if I need also to revoke it from PUBLIC by using SQL'Plus
    SQL>REVOKE execute on utl_file FROM public .
