Problems setting up Wordpress + Cherokee on home made server

Hi guys! I'm having some problems as is written in the title...I'd want to port my xampp+wordpress blog to a standard cherokee+mysql+wordpress...
So i've followed this points:
- export old database
- installed libmysqlclient mysql mysql-clients cherokee wordpress
- created database and imported all the old table in it
- modified wp-config.php
- chown to http:http the /srv/http/wordpress folder
- followed this guide to create a vHost only for wordpress
- started all daemons
Then i've tried to go to mydomain/wp-admin/install.php, but it doesn't works...It say my Server error, the link can be down for manteinance or configured incorrectly...
What i've missed?

Is there perhaps a mod_rewrite rule interfering? You could check for a .htaccess file. It might also prevent you from reaching the correct page.
If you put a html file in the root of the document_root, can you access that?
e.g. :
server.com/test.html

  • Setting up a publically-visible home web server w/ DSL residential?

Is there a how-to guide for setting up a small publically-visible home web server, basically for testing purposes?
I have a DSL modem, Westell.
The web server software is running and I can see the site on my home network, but everyone else on the Internet gets a timeout.  The server is not reachable.
When I run traceroutes, the Modem's IP address does not show a timeout, but the Computer's IP address does show a timeout.  This is with all firewall software disabled.
    Can anyone help?

Before I try to help you, I am just wondering.
Since you are using this server for testing, why does it have to be publically-visible?
In the meantime as I wait for that reply to my question, pre-check list for allowing user from the net to connect you:
#1 The Default Gateway on your computer is the same IP Address as the Westell A90-750015-07?
For example, if on Windows XP
    a) Go to Start -> Run.
    b) Type in cmd and press enter.
    c) In the new window, called the command prompt, type in ipconfig /all and press enter.
#2 In the router go to Advanced -> Private LAN
#3 What is the Starting and Ending IP Address?
#4 In the router go to Advanced -> Universal Plug and Play
#5 If you do not have at least two game consoles behind this two router, turn off UPnP in the router.
By game console, a special type of computer with no keyboard or mouse (and it/they are usually connected to a TV).
#6 In the router go to System Monitoring  -> Gateway Status
#7 With another web browser Window OR Tab, go to https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
#8 Below the text that says The text below might uniquely identify you on the Internet is an IP Address.
#9 In the web browser window or tab, that is still looking in the router, you should see that same IP Address.

  • Problems setting up an Apache PHP and MySQL server(slvd)

I folowed this guide: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LAMP and I did everything it says and everything is working well... but when I try to install any CMS that uses MySQL, it says that mysql is not running... Even with Nmap, it only shows that apache is running... anyone knows why ?
when I'm installing Xoops, it prints this error:
    Fatal error:
mysql extension not loaded in /home/httpd/html/xoops-2.2.3a-final-xpr/html/class/database/mysqldatabase.php on line 74
But, phpMyAdmin runs without any errors... this is so strange...
    Can anyone help me ?
    Thanks in advance

    I don't have any extension=mysql.dll in my php.ini.... I just have extension=mysql.so...

I set up apache, php and mysql, and pretty much successfully. I can connect to my web server via IP. But if I try to connect to it via the hostname it fails. I followed the directions in the wiki entry for it. Here are the contents of my /etc/hosts and /etc/rc.conf file as well as my /etc/httpd/httpd.conf file.
Can anyone tell me why my hostname isn't working?
    /etc/hosts:
/etc/hosts: static lookup table for host names
    #<ip-address> <hostname.domain.org> <hostname>
    127.0.0.1 chxsrv chxsrv

    /etc/rc.conf
    ...(yada)...

    # - prefix an entry in INTERFACES with a ! to disable it
    # - no hyphens in your interface names - Bash doesn't like it
    # Note: to use DHCP, set your interface to be "dhcp" (eth0="dhcp")
    lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
    eth0="eth0 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255"
    INTERFACES=(lo eth0)

    ...(blah)...
and last but not least, the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file:
    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/httpd/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "@@ServerRoot@@" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "@@ServerRoot@@//var/log/httpd/foo.log".
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
    # at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple

    The problem is with /etc/hosts.allow
    You need to add

Once you all that youll have external access to your apache setup.

  • JDeveloper problem setting up a database connection

I am having some problem setting up a connection to my database. Before I say any more let me explain what I need. I need 2 database connections 1 to a 10g R3 database and one to an 8.0.5.
I do realize that JDeveloper will only connect back to 8.1.7 because of the JDBC version that is installed with it.
What I really need to know is "Is it possible to define and use 2 different versions of JDBC" I really don't want to move back to the version that works with both because I am afraid of what performance/benefits I will lose from the latest and greatest.
The latest version that I can determine will work with 8.0.5 is the last version for 9i.
    Any Ideas would be helpful.
The reason for this situation is that I have a production database that I will have to keep up with until the full version of the system is complete so that is why I even care about 8.0.5.
    Thanks alot for your time,
    Thom

I have a similar problem and I would much appreciate any help in this matter.
I have a wireless network set at home with two computers connected to it:
My workstation called Home-ws and my laptop called Acer. I can access the d:\ drive of my workstation from my laptop without any problem.
On my workstation I installed the Oracle 10g product and on my laptop I installed Oracle SQL Developer. On SQL developer I am trying to create a connection to the Oracle server:
    My settings are as below:
    Connection name: orcl_system
    User name: system
    Password: ******
    Host name: Home-ws
    Port: 1521
    SID: orcl
When I push test I am getting the following error message:
Status: Failure –Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
Are there any special settings that should be made set up a wireless connection to my database?
Then I did the following things below:
    1. I downloaded from oracle.com the instantclient-basic-win32-10.2.0.2-20060508.zip file and unzipped it in a folder called instantclient_10_2. There were a number of DLL and two jar files plus sqlplus.exe
    2. I started sqlplus from that server
    3. sqlplus failed with a similar error as sql developer.
    4. I checked for tnsping. There is no tnsping such and exe on my laptop. I looks like I have to install the DLLs I downloaded them but there are no instructions about how to install them. Should I just copy them in system32 folder?
    5. I looked for firewalls on my Home-ws workstation (where my oracle server is installed) and on my Acer laptop. The firewalls were activated. I added on exception called oracle for port 1521 on both computers and tried to connect again. I tried with both TCP and UDP options and it did not work in both cases.
I am out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

  • What is the best way to set up iTunes on our home network so all family members have access to all of our itunes library, even music we don't have on the cloud?

I have five different people using 10 different apple devices on one itunes account in our family.  We have had trouble sharing.  What is the best way to set up itunes on our home network?  We have purchased music that sits on icloud, but we also have music we have imported from our previous cd library.  Our itunes program keeps crashing and dumping everyone's playlists.  So far we have all been using just the one desktop computer to sync to because we can't figure out how to share the same librarly and playlists on multiple computers in our home so devices can be synced at any location as well as playlists and purchases be made.

What is the best way to set up itunes on our home network?
One iTunes library per person.  One iTunes account per person.
If people wish to share songs, they can make copies.
When the inevitable day comes when the kids get older, you will not have to come back here and post asking how all that stuff can get separated!

  • Problems setting up an NFS server

    Hi everybody,
I just completed my first arch install. :-)
I have a desktop and a laptop, and I installed Arch on the desktop (the laptop runs Ubuntu 9.10). I had a few difficulties here and there, but I now have the system up and running, and I'm very happy.
I have a problem setting up an NFS server. With Ubuntu everything was working, so I'm assuming that the Ubuntu machine (client) is set-up correctly. I'm trying to troubleshoot the arch box (server) now.
I followed this wiki article: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Nfs
    Now, I have these problems:
    - when I start the daemons, I get:
    [root@myhost ~]# /etc/rc.d/rpcbind start
    :: Starting rpcbind [FAIL]
    [root@myhost ~]# /etc/rc.d/nfs-common start
    :: Starting rpc.statd daemon [FAIL]
    [root@myhost ~]# /etc/rc.d/nfs-server start
    :: Mounting nfsd filesystem [DONE]
:: Exporting all directories [BUSY] exportfs: /etc/exports [3]: Neither 'subtree_check' or 'no_subtree_check' specified for export "192.168.1.1/24:/home".
    Assuming default behaviour ('no_subtree_check').
NOTE: this default has changed since nfs-utils version 1.0.x
    [DONE]
    :: Starting rpc.nfsd daemon [FAIL]
    - If I mount the share on the client with "sudo mount 192.168.1.20:/home /media/desktop", IT IS mounted but I can't browse it because I have no privileges to access the home directory for the user.
    my /etc/exports looks like this:

Any help would be very appreciated!

Thanks, I finally got it working.
I realized that even though both machines had the same group, my Ubuntu machine (client) group has GID 1000, while the Arch one has GID 1001. I created a group that has GID 1001 on the client, and now everything is working.
I'm wondering why my Arch username and group both have 1001 rather than 1000 (which I suppose would be the default number for the first user created).
Anyway, thanks again for your inputs.

  • Problems setting up VVSA 6.0 (lookup service adresse)

    Hi,
I was happy to see VVSA 6.0 released, but i'm having problems setting it up. It keeps saying that the lookup service adresse is not reachable. But I have tried with the VVSA 5.5 and 5.5.1.1 and they work just fine with the lookup service adresse.
    Anyone else having this issue?
Also trying to check for updates within the appliance failes since the repository is not online at vmware it seems.
Might not be ready for primetime (like ESXi6).

If Developer has a separate Oracle Home on your PC, then it has a separate TNSNAMES.ORA file that is uses to connect to the database. If you search for all tnsnames.ora files, you should find the one used by Developer 6.
Since Enterprise manager works, the tnsnames.ora in your Enterprise Manager's home will have an entry for your server database. You should be able to cut and paste this into the tnsnames.ora file used by Developer, or try copying the E.M. tnsnames.ora file directly.

  • Problems Setting up NFS

    Hi.
I've been having problems setting up NFS on a LAN at home.  I've read through all the Arch NFS-related threads and looked at (and tried some of) the suggestions, but without success.
What I'm trying to do is set up an NFS share on a wireless laptop to copy one user's files from the laptop to a wired workstation.  The laptop is running Libranet 2.8.1. The workstation is running Arch Linux with the most up-to-date (as of today) software, including NFS.
I have the portmap, nfslock, and nfsd daemons running via rc.conf, set to run in that order.
    I've re-installed nfs-utils and set up hosts.deny as follows:
    # /etc/hosts.deny
    ALL: ALL
    # End of file
    and hosts.allow as follows:
    # /etc/hosts.allow
    ALL: 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0
    ALL: LOCAL
    # End of file
In other words, I want to allow access on the machine to anything running locally or on the LAN.
I have the shared directories successfully exported from the laptop (192.168.0.3), but I have not been able to mount the exported directories on the workstation (192.168.0.2).
The mount command I'm using at the workstation:
    mount -t nfs -o rsize=8192,wsize=8192 192.168.0.3:/exports /exports
There is an /exports directory on both machines at root with root permissions. There is an /etc/exports file on the NFS server machine that gives asynchronous read/write permissions to 192.168.0.2 for the /exports directory.
    I receive the following message:
    mount: RPC: Program not registered
This appears to be a hosts.allow/hosts.deny type problem, but I can't figure out what I need to do to make RPC work properly.
Some additional information, just in case it's helpful:
This is the result if running rpcinfo:
       program vers proto   port
        100000    2   tcp    111  portmapper

    Hi ravster.
Thanks for the suggestions. I had read the Arch NFS HowTo and did as you suggested get rcpinfo for the server machine. The Libranet NFS server is configured rather different since the NFS daemons are built into the default kernel.
Since I needed to complete the transfer immediately, I gave up for now trying to set up NFS and used netcat (!) instead to transfer the files from the Libranet laptop to the Arch workstation. The laptop will be converted to Arch Linux soon so I think I'll be able to clear things up soon.  I haven't had any problems setting up NFS with homogeneous (i.e., all Arch or all Libranet) computer combinations.
    Thanks again.

  • Problems Setting up a Direct Debit

has anyone experienced any problems setting up a direct debit ??
I've been a BT customer for approximately 20 years and have had the same account number. I've moved house a few times and retained the same account. My last house move wasn't so successful as after moving in and having broadband re set up again... I received a letter in the post saying I had requested a "termination" and a parcel was included to send my router back etc... plus... I'd be charged £100+ for the disconnection...
Anyway I got on the phone to BT and the advisor appologised for the mix up... and suggested I cancel my direct debit with the bank to make sure the disconnection fee wasn't taken from my account.....
Ever since then... I have not being able to set up a direct debit online or by speaking with several BT helpdesk staff.  I email BT asking for an explaination - NOTHING.  BT helpdesk staff assure me that the direct debit will work this time and will contact me if there is a problem... again NOTHING.  I even tried writing a letter to the head of customer services... I think the name Warren Buckley rings a bell..   Someone did email me back suggesting I use the online facility.... REALLY!!  Do BT not have a fault tracking database of customer issues... so they can see I've already tried to set up the direct debit online...
Anyway ..... I've just noticed this forum now... so this is my latest attempt to see if anyone senior enough at BT will be embarrassed and try and sort out my account so I can start paying my bill using Direct Debit again... I'm pretty sure all that needs to happen is to be given a new account number or an account alias that can be sent to my bank. Otherwise... I'll just carry on waiting to receive the automated message from BT saying I haven't paid and then go and pay online... But I am worried one of these automated messages will arrive the day I go on a 2 week holiday and I find myself cut off when I get home... giving me more pain....
    PLEASE HELP BT ;o)
    regards
    DaveB

  • Problems setting up Time Machine using a network drive

I am having problems setting up TimeMachine on my Mac Mini to work with a WD MyBookLive network drive.  The network drive came with a TimeMachineBackup shared folder preconfigured.  When I first connected the drive to the router and turned on TimeMachine, the TimeMachineBackups appeared as an option when I did "Select Backup Disk" from TimeMachine Preferences.
I managed to successfully connect to the drive and start a backup running.  However the backup hit a problem and I started getting an error that the "disk was already in use".  I therefore tried to remove the disk to try and start again.  Hoever when I now do go into "Select Backup Disk" from TimeMachine Preferences the shared folder on the drive no longer apperas and I only get the option to serach for an Time Capsule.
If I go into Finder, the MyBookLive shows up as a connected Device with all its shared folders showing (including the TimeMachineBackup folder)  and my Mac is definitely connected to the drive.  How do I get the Drive & TimeCapsuleBackup shared folder to reappear in TimeMachine Preferences so that I can select it as the destination for my backups?

Check around the forum, you are one of very very many. It doesn't matter what WD say, do you see a Certified by Apple notice on it?

  • Problems setting up WRT54G2 router

I'm having problems setting up my Linksys WRT54G2 router. I want my mac laptop (iBook G3 running OSX) to use a wireless connection, and the home computer (running Windows XP) to stay connected to the modem.
I originally tried to set up the router by connecting it via ethernet to my laptop (and by ethernet to the modem), and went into the 192.168.1.1 address to configure it. The internet works fine on my laptop when connected to the wireless by ethernet but it can't connect wirelessly (it has an original airport card fitted, at first I thought I might need to upgrade the firmware but I ran a software update and one didn't come up). I then realised that I would need to MAC clone from the PC, that is connected to the modem? I tried to do this today, but I couldn't access the 192.168.1.1 address from the PC. I have tried resetting the router, and disabling the firewall but still can't access it. This PC also has anti-virus software running too - could this be the problem, or am I setting it up wrong? Thanks.

If you are trying to Setup your Router with the setup disk, Then you can exit from the setup and configure your Router manually. Before you configure your router, you need to Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 60 seconds and re-connect the power cable.....
You need to connect your Modem to Linksys Router on Internet Port and your Computer to Linksys Router on Port No.1.
If your Internet Service Providor is Cable follow this link
If your Internet Service Providor is DSL follow this link
Here are the Wireless Settings which you can set on your router, once done you can try connecting your MAC computer to your Wireless network and check if you are Online from MAC computer.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
-Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Wide-40MHz and change the Wide channel to 9 and Standard Channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on save settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select AES...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304 Change the RTS Threshold to 2307 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • Flash profiling of memory after clearing cache of home-made rsl files

I have a question about the flash memory profiling tools.
Once I have completely loaded a swf file into my browser, complete with multiple home-made gigantic RSLs (not flex swzs), the memory footprint of my application is small; I have not instantiated any of the objects in the RSL files.  However, as stated earlier, the RSLs are very big files; full of embedded assets.
If I clear my browser cache, those gigantic RSL files are deleted.
Then, when I use my flash app to create objects from the RSL, flash profiler shows my memory footprint increase.  That makes sense; I just made some large objects.
But from where did flash load those objects?
    I deleted the RSL files.
The flash profiler showed I was using hardly any memory, suggesting that the class files were not loaded into memory already.
Are the files kept in a secondary file cache?  Is there a second memory cache?  Can I profile its size?

    1. No. and the main footprint of a bitmap is probably is per-instance so the instance cost is probably what you're interested in.  Anything embedded is also a class and the first time you access the class the Class category should go up by a bit.
    2.  When your app requires an RSL, the SWF for the RSL is loaded into memory (in a buffer you can't see from the profiler), expanded and parsed (into even more memory that you can't see from the profiler).  Then as you access classes from the RSL, the profiler should show growth in the Class, Object and Function.  If you statically link just the code you need, the amount of memory to load the SWF and parse it will be smaller since it doesn't need space for classes you won't need, but after that it is the same.  The advantage of the RSL is that most folks end up using 200K or more from the RSLs so that's a download cost you pay the first time you run the app.  The Flex RSLs are pretty well deployed so your chances of having savings is pretty good.  Private RSLs for your app will do no good unless there is another app on the same domain that uses the RSLs.  See the modules presentation on my blog for more info
    3.  The profiler does not show System.totalMemory.  Even that number isn't the whole measure.  We're currently fans of PrivateBytes to measure total weight of the app.  But it depends on what problem you're trying to solve.

  • Problem setting up RAID0 on ASUS p9x79Pro

I’m having problems setting up a RAID0 on my new p9x79pro build, and I think I’m following the right procedure, first time doing this and it’s not working, so I could really use some help.
I pre-installed the Intel drivers downloaded from ASUS prior to installing Windows 7 using the f6 method.
After installing, I ran the Intel rapid storage enterprise installer software, and the raid controller shows up in Device Manager.
I then followed the procedure in my mobo manual.  I went into the bios, into advanced mode, changed my drives from ACHI to RAID mode, and then went into Ctrl I mode and tried to set up a raid.  The two new WD 1 TB black caviars I have were visible, but greyed out and described as “non-raid disks”.  When I went through the process, they remained greyed out, and I could not select any drives to raid, though I tried creating a RAID0 anyway.
These drives, both new, had already been partitioned.  These drives are plugged into the top two sata 6gb ports on the mobo, which should be correct according to the manual.
When I rebooted, my drives were not visible, and as expected, there was no RAID0.  I went back into BIOS, deleted the (nonexistent) raid, and reset the drives to ACHI, but the drives still did not show up.
So, thinking I screwed up somehow, I did a full reinstall of windows.  After installing the Intel enterprise installer software, I went into device manager and the drives were back, but unpartioned.  Before partitioning, I tried to RAID0  these again, using the above method, but no luck, still greyed out.  I also made sure to let windows connect online to download any hotfixes, which it did.  All my other drivers are up to date, as is BIOS.  Before I partition these drives and try again, figured I’d ask here.
I think I’d be there, if only the drives were not greyed out.  What am I doing wrong?
Also, if I were plugged into the bottom two drives (the Marvell controller, which show up in Device Manger, so it appears to have installed) how would I set up a RAID0?
      Thanks

Something is off as the Intel SATA6G ports fully support raid. I would consider doing a write zeros on your drives and and retry creating on the Intel ports.
I complete a quick check on a P9X79 Pro without issues screen below for your reference.
Steps used ( already had OS install on single SSD ). Completed using UEFI defaults ( drive was installed under AHCI ).
Step 1. Connected 2 SSDs to the Intel SATA6G ports white ports not label SSD Caching ( which are the Marvell ports )
Step 2. Entered into the UEFI and changed to Raid
Step 3. Saved and reboot and entered into Raid Console ( Ctrl I ), Once enter created Raid 0 and defined 2 Corsair drives as drives to be used in Raid
Step 4. Rebooted and entered OS and install RST driver/application.
Included some screenshots including performance throughput of 2 SSDs on SATA6G ports which can only be achevied via Raid0 on Intel SATA6G ports.
One thing that was not clear is where is your OS present / installed and on which port?
Hopefully you will be able to get this sorted and resolved. Then again if you are ok running the Raid on the Marvell ports you are already solid.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
