Problems still after adding Media Feature Pack (win8.1, 64bit, c660d)

Hi guys!
I.m just after installing win8.1 pro N to my Toshiba Satellite C660D laptop, it was a clean install directly from win7 (so no 8 meanwhile), i updated everything just after install, also the newest Media
Feature Pack (6.3-KB2835517-x64) update to have media content too.
The following problems I had:
still nothing that helps me in media parts (no media player, no sound recording, no webcam-i couldn.t see its place in device manager either)
i couldn.t install one update (error code: 0x80070003 )
and some appeareance problems, might due to the lack of video card driver
and some smaller background missings.
So i.ve installed drivers (it was a collected driver pack by Toshiba, directly to help upgrading from 7 to 8), which made my appereance running good, all the installs came down and installed - but still no media pack (no
player, no mic, no webcam).
If I want to install again 6.3-kb28355.... it tells me that i.ve already did it.
The errors i still have at system logs: some services cant run "the system is configured to not allow interactive services.", and "The server did not register with DCOM within the required timeout." Also
some warnings: "WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped." and "The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM.........", this last one is from source "Kernel-Pnp"
Update Troubleshooting tells me that "problems installing recent updates" is Not Fixed, also
SFC Scan (same time at the Command Prompt too) "did not find any integrity violations". However
checkin the updates it comes that I have installed all the recent updates (everything is green and happy)
Since yesterday i.ve tried many many possible solutions; these above are from the last reseting of windows (so there shall be no other disturbing factors in the background (?) ). Please if somebody has any idea what a) happened b) shall i do to fix. Is there
one problem here that might causes the others, or is it more difficult..?

Hello, I have Windows 8 Enterprise 64 bit in my laptop,,,
recently when I tried install a certain program it showed error telling me that Media Feature Pack is not installed yet in my laptop,, and so I download a windows update standalone installer for windows 8 : Windows6.2-KB2703761-x64.msu,,,
but the problem is each time I try to install it shows error: The Update is Not Applicable to your computer,,
I am certain that I don't have Media Feature Pack in my windows yet,, and if this installer is not the right update for me, which one is?

Okay, my apologies, but this is the most ridiculously flawed logic i've ever seen: you're essentially stating that MSFT doesn't think business users have any use for windows media center capabilities because enterprise is for so called, "business"
use. I'm surprised that MSFT knows what "all business" needs are...and how media plays no part of "all businesses".
For example, I'm a developer - my company has given me this surface pro w/ enterprise to develop media apps on - so how is this not relevant to people outside of the consumer level? I'm suppose to go back to my boss and just be like, "hey! so funny
story - windows 8.1 enterprise, for which we pay a hefty msdn license fee for, actually doesn't have what we "really" need - we actually have need

Server 2012 R2 Network Teaming Issues After Adding WOW64 Feature

Recently I have had a specific issue adding the WOW64 feature to an active Server 2012 R2 server in core mode (no management). The server had two active virtual machines. A server 2008 R2 in version 1 mode and a 2012 R2 in version 2.
All were up2date as of April 10 2015. This was a domain connected core with domain connected virtual machines. We are the domain administrator.
After using powershell to install WOW64 and issuing a restart we lost all external network connectivity to the server once the server came back up. From the console we could ping 127.0.0.1 and all the network addresses of each VM but not the
default gateway or any address on the local network. We tried several resolutions including disabling all firewall rules and assigning a known VLAN but nothing worked. Something went completely haywire within Windows 2012 R2 and network teaming
and the virtual switch that supplies the VM's with communication.
What we had to do was remove one of the physical network adapters from the team using powershell from the core console. We then assigned an address to the nic and whallah we were able to remotely communicate to the server again but the problem
still remained with communicating to the team.
After hours of trials we finally stumbled on a solution deleting the hyper-v virtual switch though a remote console, then the team through powershell. This of course broke all the hyper-v VM's. We said f'it and rebooted.
This is the magical combination apparently
We then recreated the team using the remote management GRAPHICAL widget using every physical EXCEPT the nic we were communicating to.   Then we recreated the hyper-v virtual switch remotely again with the GRAPHICAL widget and assigned
it an address using the command line sconfig tool.   We then went into the GRAPHICAL hyper-v manager and assigned all VM's to the new virtual switch. WOW everything works again
Let me just say here in this post that the lack of graphical management in CORE mode is a complete nightmare. The fact we have to use some graphical tools to perform certain tasks and the command line for others is just silly. The sconfig.exe
tool should have built-in teaming commands as inexperienced remote administrators are very difficult to work with over the phone trying to explain spelling of the upper/lowercase commands.
This post is more informative than really asking a specific question but if I were to ask one I'd ask, why did installing the WOW64 feature and rebooting break the external communication of the team and the virtual switch?

Problem still after reset, etc...

I purchased my 2nd gen shuffle about a year ago, used while running, then had not used it for several months. When syncing thru the USB, it shows that all my songs and podcasts are loaded (when I dragged and dropped) onto my shuffle. When attempting to play, it blinks green and orange alternating for 2 seconds. I've run the diagnostics, and everything works except the sync test. I've restored, updated, and reset all to no avail. when clicking on the help tab, it just takes me to the web page showing the picture of what the diagnostics look like, but gives me no option as to what to do next. Please help.

In one of the recent iTunes upgrades, podcasts all defaulted to 'skip when shuffling'.
If the Shuffle is loaded with files that are set to skip when shuffling and the switch is set to the shuffle position, the iPod will freak and blink this way...maybe in this case?

BUG: Search not avail after adding song to playlist (after creating folder for playlists) - iPad app

So this sounds like an unlikely bug, but I can duplicate it again and again.Starting point: Lots of playlists, no folders. I have the latest iOS version on my iPad and the latest Spotify update.Used PC client to create a folder and moved some playlists to that folder.Back on iPad, search for song and then add it to any playlist. (It doesn't matter which playlist, whether it's in a folder or not.)Here's where the problem occurs: After adding a song to a playlist, it is no longer possible to search for other songs. The search function simply fails to respond. I can listen to songs on playlists but can't use the search. If I want to search, I have to restart the app. Annoying!

If you have "Keep..." and "Copy..." unchecked, iTunes will simply reference the existing file, and will not change your file structure, as you correctly note.
I'm fairly sure that some other program is operating on your files. The "Playlists" folder that you mention has nothing to do with iTunes. On my PC, only Windows Media and Roxio use it.
To your question +"Is there a way to have iTunes rename/move files when adding to its library to specific folders via custom rules based on ID3 information (i.e. WMP rip settings)?"+ the answer is no. When iTunes rips a CD, it names the files as track number and title, with no option to do differently. And as far as placing the ripped files, they go in Artist/Album, with no option to do differently. As full-featured ripping programs go, iTunes is not even in the race.

IPhone 3GS getting hot after adding hotmail active sync

After adding 2 of my hotmail account as Microsoft exchange accounts using active sync, I have noticed that my iphone 3GS is getting extremely hot. I already have gmail through exchange for more than a year now for contacts and calendar. This heating problem started after adding these 2 hotmail accounts. Anyone else experiencing the same issue. Please help.

Try resetting your iPhone. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but no data or media is deleted.
See if that makes a difference.

StackOverflowError after adding a table to a TopLink Map

Hello,
I am really puzzled by the next problem. After adding a table (Customer) to an existing TopLink Map, I get the same kind of error for every query in the project that I use.
ERROR J2EE EJB8006 [CustomerToplinkTestPublicFacade:public java.util.List com.companyname.toplinktest.model.CustomerToplinkTestPublicFacadeBean.findCustomersByCompany(java.lang.String,java.lang.String)] exception occurred during method invocation: javax.ejb.EJBException: java.lang.StackOverflowError
I get this with every page and every query, just change the name findCustomersByCompany to the name of the named query. Otherwise all pages seems to have the correct behaviour Removing the Customer-table from the application solved all problems, and they reoccurred after adding the table again.
I have no clue why this happens, the only thing that might be useful is the fact that the Customer-table is also a part of a database view which I already use.

another update on my testcases. I have used the following procedure to narrow down the source of the problem.
First I create one or more TopLink pojo's based on my database tables and views, add them to a session bean and create the data controls. I'm always working with the default named queries (selectAll).
Then I create a .jspx file, drag and drop a data control from the data control palette to create an ADF table with the defaults...
and run... with one of two outcomes.
I either get all the data from the table (correct) or I get a message "no rows yet" and an error message in the log window "2006-05-04 12:37:40.214 ERROR J2EE EJB8006 [testCustomerSession:public java.util.List model.testCustomerSessionBean.findAllCompany()] exception occurred during method invocation: javax.ejb.EJBException: java.lang.StackOverflowError"
This is an overview of the testing I have done:

Problem with App-V 5 in Xenapp 6.5 Feature Pack 2 /PVS Server 7.1 Environment

Hi I hope someone can help me. We are pretty desperate right now.
At e customer of mine we are Using App-V 5 SP2 RDS Client together with a Xenapp 6.5 Feature Pack 2 /PVS Server 7.1 Environment.
The Golden Image for PVS gets built with SCCM 2007. We “Install” the App-V Packages local with Powershell with e Install Wrapper.
The Wrapper uses for Example the following command to “install” the Package during the Task Sequence.
Add-AppVClientPackage -Path "C:\_SMSTaskSequence\Packages\I010012B\x86-GE\001\Biella-Dominalprint(V)-2.0.appv" -DynamicDeploymentConfiguration "C:\_SMSTaskSequence\Packages\I010012B\x86-GE\001\Biella-Dominalprint(V)-2.0_DeploymentConfig.xml"

The Package was Sequenced with SP1 Sequencer.
The Package contains e SystemX86 folder
C:\ProgramData\App-V\5D8F5879-923B-4401-BE13-F6E120F6569C\83FF2A00-5D2A-4A3B-82FD-3238D786BEE3\Root\VFS\SystemX86
In This Folder are a few Files. One of them is the tdbg5.ocx
The Package works without a Problem after the Installation of the Server has finished.
But when the Citrix Department does there Magic with PVS and they provision the VHD to another Server the Package is no longer Working. When we start the App we get an Error that it is Missing the tdbg5.ocx
But when I Use ACDC 2.0 to start the App or modify the Shortcut with the command /appvve: 5D8F5879-923B-4401-BE13-F6E120F6569C_83FF2A00-5D2A-4A3B-82FD-3238D786BEE3 it is working. Also when I remove the Package with Powershell from the provisioned Server
and reinstall it again it is working Again.
We have this Problem with two other Apps and both of them have files in the Root\VFS\SystemX86 Folder.
We also have e Virtualized Java Package. We have a Shortcut like this:

If I start that link on the provisioned Sever Java Launches but it’s not downloading the App to the Cache. But also here it works perfect after the installation with SCCM, and it also works when I remove the package on the provisioned Sever and “install”
it again with Powershell. But here the /appvve workaround doesn’t work.
I know that we should ask that in the Citrix forums, the Citrix department of the Customer is opening a Case with Citrix and one with MS Support. But we are I a big hurry because the customer needs to start testing the Apps, because they need to start
the pilot Test very soon. So I hoped that someone in the community can help me out with this.

Another alternative, if you dont want to use the Shared Content Store, is to have your PackageInstallationRoot pointing to a non-provisioned disk (non-PVS). In our environment we had the same exact issue. Each of our Citrix servers have
a D drive thats non-provisioned that we use for Logs. Once I pointed the PackageInstallationRoot over to this location everything started working.   The key here is to have a script run at server startup that deletes the PackageInstallationRoot
since the provisioned non-persistent disk will reboot to a fresh image each time.   This way you wont end up with stale content out there as applications are updated and/or removed.
There are other things that also have to happen for this to work in these types of environments (related to roaming profile exclusions) that I can provide to you if you need them.
Let me know if you want/need more details.

Adding Media Center feature not an option on Win 8.1 Pro

Found the instructions below most helpful in terms of adding a Windows Media Center upgrade key to my Windows 8.1 pro (full, clean install) and the option "add features to Windows 8.1" is not an option listed...(The only option showing is "turn
windows options on and off")... Therefore, the path for purchasing or adding this feature seems impossible to find.

Two questions:
1. Should I be able to use the older Windows 8 Media Center Pack product key, if able to get to that point?
2. Why am I not able to find the "add features" option, having looked from multiple directions?

You don't say that you attached the iso to the VM. The easiest way to do
that is to connect to the VM and then on the console, pull down the
"Media" menu, Select "Insert Disk", then browse to the ISO and select it.
Then under the "Action" menu, select "Reset".
You can also mount an iso in the settings for the VM.

Remove Sidebar feature STILL not added back in 10.6! ARGH! Why!?

I'm sure I can't be the only one upset that after having the ability to completely remove the Sidebar without going into Simple Finder mode and losing the Toolbar from OSX 10.x-10.5.1ish, it's STILL not added back in after being taken out during an early 10.5.x update.
I mean seriously, why would you REMOVE a feature? It seems in 10.6, the most you can do is remove everything from the Sidebar and drag it as far left as you can. It still wastes a lot of space.

There's even a keyboard shortcut to toggle it back and forth. Command-Option-s and it slides gracefully away, repeat and it slides gracefully back. And the toolbar stays put. Oddly, if you click the little button to toggle the toolbar off it closes the Sidebar too. Just discovered that if you Command click the button, you start cycling thru the various options for display of the toolbar--I count 7 different states. Shift click makes everything slide away verrrry slowwwwly.

- Reset all settings

IPod Nano (4th Generation) switches on when connected to USB power - shows Menu & hangs (unresponsive to click wheel) - deems off after 5-sec - Switches off after disconnecting from USB Power - syncs with iTunes - Tried 5R's - Problem still persists

1. The iPod Nano (4th Generation - 8GB) switches on, only when connected to USB power by showing apple logo and displays Menu options thereafter..
2. However, I can not access Menu as it is unresponsive to click wheel. As a result it is inaccessible to any further use,
3. NOTE: it displays "Battery Fully charged" icon on the screen without any "Lock" icon.
4. After 5-sec to 10-secs the screen deems off.. i.e. goes to sleep mode.. And thereafter would probably remain like that (sleeeping) for eternity!!!!
5. It Switches off after WITHOUT DISPLAYING any Apple Logo immediately after disconnecting from USB Power.
6. In other words, it can be switched on only through USB power in spite of battery being fully charged.
7. Interestingly, it syncs with iTunes. It is recognised in iTunes (Latest version 11+).. Displays on screen all commands Like.. syncronising, connecting, connected,
8. Allows to add Music, videos like a normal ipod & displays all status information in iTunes.
9. Read Trobleshooting & Tried all 5R's. Registered, Resetted, updated & Restored to iOS 1.0.2
10. It is now displaying to select Language in place of Menu options, with no access through click wheel, centre button whatsoever... Problem still persists
KINDLY GUIDE ME THE SOLUTION. APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE in advance...
