Problems synchronising with new Desktop v6

Hi,
I have just updated my Desktop manager to v6. 
On my first attempt at trying to synch my PC Outlook calendar with my BB 8900, I get a lot of conflict messages which are not real  ie. two completely different appointments with totally different concepts and dates are given as if they were the same and therefore conflicting appointments.
I quit the synching, but need urgent help... how do I solve this? What's the problem?

Had the same problem. Finally, the only cure for me was to uninstall ver. 6.0 and install ver. 5.0. Did this a few hours ago and so far syncing is working fine. Will not reinstall 6.0.

  • Can't get 4050n printer to work with new Desktop Computer: running XP

    I have a new Desktop Computer, dual processor, which is running XP and MS office 2007.  I had my 4050N HP Laserwriter hooked up to my old desktop (which failed in the last two weeks, blown capacitor, etc) and it worked fine with XP on that computer.
    So I downloaded the drivers I found for HP 4050N running XP, and can't even get a test page.  The connectors seem to be ok.  I had to buy a parallel port to USB cable and I have that plugged into the USB port at the back of my new desktop.
    Any ideas of what else I should try?  If I had a computer virus with the old machine, could it have affected my printer somehow?

    Since you mention doing an upgrade I would be inclined to reset the printing system and then add the R2880 queue again.
    Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
    Move your mouse over the Printers list
    Hold down the Control button and click the mouse
    Click the "Reset printing system ..." popup
    Restart your Mac 
    This will remove your print queues but not your printer drivers. So you will only need to add your printer queues again.

  • Ge force 314.22 video driver issue with new desktop

    I bought my Envy Phoenix h9-1340t new from HP in January.  A month and a half ago, I updated the video driver from Nvidia's website and the video card stopped working correctly.  I contacted tech support.  They had me disable all my Windows Drivers and had me run the computer in selective startup.  The video card then worked and they said the problem was fixed.  I told them this did not seem to be a solution to me so they sent me a new video card.  That did not fix the problem.  I was told to send the pc back to HP for a repair.  I just got it back today and I saw the only thing they did was replace the video card again.  I contacted HP and they said the problem was with Nvidia's driver and told me to only update the video driver through HP.  I registered with Nvidia and posted my issue.  The feedback was unanimous, the issue lied with the configuration with my computer and not Nvidia's driver.  Could someone please help me out with this issue?

    Hello again pinktoe.
    If using selective startup allowed the drivers to work properly then there has to be something in that list causing you problems.  You need to determine what exactly is causing the issue.  I suggest trying the following.
    Press the Windows+X keyboard combination.
    Select "Run."
    Type "msconfig" and press Enter.
    Start by using selective startup to boot without services or startup items.  However, only select one.  
    Save the changes and reboot the notebook.
    If the problem persists go back to msconfig and re-enable the disabled item.  Disable the other item, save your changes, and reboot again to verify that the issue does indeed disappear through this option.
    If the issue disappears when disabling the services you'll want to try the following.
    Select the Services tab.
    Check the "hide all Microsoft services" box in the bottom left.
    Disable all services.
    Re-enable the first 5-10 services, save the changes, and reboot the computer.
    If the problem returns then you know it is one of these services and you can continues disabling the enabled services until you find the culprit.
    Repeat as needed until the culprit is discovered.
    Post the result.
    If the issue disappears when disabling the startup items you'll need to repeat the same process.
    Once you determine which item(s) are causing the issue make sure to post the result.

  • Recent problems occurring with new iPod Nanos as well?

    Are the recent problems associated with the iPod firmware version 1.2 occurring with brand new Nanos, or are they only occurring with Nanos that were running previous versions that have been updated to the new version? I've been considering buying a Nano, but may reconsider if the problems are happening with new ones as well.

    I bought a 2GB iPod nano over the weekend. It works great, as long as I don't try to put more than 215 songs on it. iTunes crashes and freezes my iPod every time I try to fill it up more than half way. Every crash requires a hard shut down on my mac and restoration of the iPod.

    When I updated my desktop software to v6.1, it then refused to start or work. I removed it & re-installed but every time it logs an error & close down receiving the following error messages :
    1. BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    2. Rim.DesktopHelper has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    Any advices?

  • Most annoying Problem Ever With New itunes update

    I was updating itunes the other day to the latest version, once the update completed, i started to listening to music as you do, then the music stopped and itunes closed. ???? so i then installed it again once it wouldn't open and it wont install, when i install i am greeted by a message saying;
    "There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to be completed could not be run. contact your support personnel or package vendor".
    When i ok this, the install backtracks then installs again then it says itunes has been successfully installed on your computer....tidy!
    But then when i try to open the program it tries to configure itunes the fails with the message "Fatal error 07" then even the shortcuts on the desktop fail.
    I have searched extensively everywhere and done everything, uninstalled ever aspect of anything apple, bonjour etc. cleaned registry, disk cleanups. and it still fails.
    If anyone has a solution to this problem i will be eternally grateful and you will be invited to my birthday party.
    P.S - even bonjour doesnt work aswel as quicktime.

    I have the same problem. Cannot clean Quick Time or Itunes to install new version and now I don't have Itunes. The Windows Clean up Utility is no longer available. QWuick Time is looking for cache files which is not there. I cannot use my Iphone.
    Any help?

  • Problem synchronising with G5 using OSx 10.3.9

    Can't seem to synchronise new i phone with either my laptop or G5. It automatically launches iphotos and not itunes. Currently using operating software 10.3.9. Have downloaded latest version of itunes but on the G5 I got a message saying that I must have 10.4.10 or greater. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

    If you look at the iPhone box, the system requirement is 10.4.x or greater.

    have a photosmart C5280 all-in-one that I was using with a computer running windows XP, it worked fine. Bought a new computer running windows 8.1, printer not printing very well at all. It prints page after page of one or two lines of hyroglifics untile I cancelled print document  to stop using up paper. I uninstalled printer software and reinstalled from HP web site software for running with windows  8.1 still not working.

    I think this has got me printing again. I had to uninstall the full feature software and loaded the driver only. I could not get the full feature software to load completly so I loaded the driver only and this seem to work O.K. Thanks for the help.

  • Problem printing with new computer

    Hello...
    I have a new iMac (10.7.3) that I'm using with my older printer...Brother MFC 8440.  I downloaded and installed the latest driver for 10.7.  However, when I hooked up the printer via USB it did not see the printer, therefore, I can't print.  I used the same cord on my old computer and it recognized it.  Is there something different about the USB connection on the new computer?

    Maybe resetting the printing system will help:
    System Preferences>Print & Scan, control+click or right click on a printer on the left (or in the white space where they would normally be listed) and select 'reset printing system'. All printers will be deleted and need to be added again.
    Are these the latest drivers you downloaded and installed from the Apple site? Brother Printer Drivers 2.8.1

  • Repeat of January Upgrade Problems coming with new apps?

    hey everyone,
    i have been talking to a few of you about losing the january upgrade after an OS restore and an ipod restore, if you are unsure about this there are a few threads in this forum that talk about it. do you guys think that the same thing will happen when the new apps come out (fingers crossed). If we have to pay for them, will they be stored on our hard drives in a hidden file somewhere waiting to be wiped with an OS restore like the january upgrade?? what do you guys think??

    Note: These locations are hidden by default in Windows. You can these locations by choosing "Show hidden files and folder" in the View tab of the Folder Options Control Panel.
    Once you have copied the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file to the computer with your home library, make a new folder named Mobile Applications in the correct location, and place the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file there. Open iTunes and sync your iPod touch.

  • ITune problems diasapper with new user...

    I like alot of others have been having play back quality problems since the last iTunes upgrade( i have had areally stable machine till then)..i havebeen reading all the recent posts and tried logging on as anew user and voila ! the sound is perfect...now i have to figure out why, has anyone got any suggestions.
    I run a G5 on 10.4.2 with USB Harmon sound sticks.

    Use BatChmod to set correct permissions on your home ~ Music folder
    To set preferences using BatChmod is very easy...
    This compact GUI will perform the same tasks as a 'command line in Terminal '
    drag the complete Music folder with libraries and iTunes Music folder inside to the BatChmod Icon and drop....
    check path is correct.... tick if not already.... Owner=R W X, Group=R, Others=R,
    then tick 'Apply ownership and priviledges'...'Unlock' & click Apply...
    provide password... all done very quick...

  • Calendar wont sync with new Desktop Software

    I recently got the latest Desktop Software. For some reason my Outlook calendar no longer syncs with my Blackberry. When I go under Organizer in the Desktop Software, MemoPad Address Book & Tasks are all checked off and working, however, Calendar isnt checked and in brackets beside it says Not Installed. No idea why this is or how I install it to make it work again.
    Any help very much appreciated!

  • MULTIPLE PROBLEMS STILL WITH DESKTOP MANAGER 1.0.1

    Could you please let me know if you are having the same problems with the new desktop manager for Mac 1.0.1.  (simply state the number on the list below - no need to write anything else)
    I doubt very much anyone has a fix for the problems since RIM doesn't, but could you just post a quick reply identifying which of the following issues you're also having in the list below.  I Would like to prove to RIM how many people are having the same issues - I'm not so sure they realize how pervasive these issues are. Thanks
    (1) Several fields in each contact in my Mac Address Book are not transferred to my Blackberry, for instance: the phone number category "Work 2", the phone number category "Other", the email category "home" - if there is two of them only one is transferred;
    (2) It cuts off the end of the "Note" section in the Address Book contacts;
    (3) The software crashes when syncing Entourage calendar;
    (4)  The software severely retards the functioning of my other programs while syncing the Entourage calendar and it is necessary to restart my computer for normal function to resume;
    (5) Calendar event alarms are removed from my blackberry even though they are active on my desktop; and
    (6) Some recurring Calendar events are not transferred over to my Blackberry.

    My problems are also different.  It was working for a while (a few weeks and maybe 4 syncs).  Now, it always gives an non-descript "Sync Error" message when trying to sync Contacts with Address Book on my MacBook running Mac OSX 10.5.8, and DTM 1.0.1.   I've UNinstalled it, REinstalled it, and can get it to sync with iCal, but not Address Book.
    I've tried all sorts of possible solutions, like eliminating all the Groups in my address book and only having 1.  I've tried clearing the Blackberry data before syncing.  I've tried syncing both directions, and I've tried syncing with overwriting everying in the Blackberry.  None of those solutons works.   I also had problems with iCal, but got that to sync by clearing the calendar on the BB first, then syncing calendar alone (not with contacts).
    I cant even express how disappointed I am with the Blackberry Destop Manager after waiting for more than year for it after PocketMac failed as a useless piece of code.   The limited setup features, and now its lack of any useful functionality has me ready to dump my Blackberry for an iPhone.   If that happens RIM, I won't be back, and I won't be advising any associates to stick with Blackberry.  I'm at the end of my consumer satisfaction, so you don't need to spend millions with J.D. Power to figure this one out.  Just make the **bleep** thing work with a MAC!  (Just in case anyone from RIM is lurking...you'd think at least one of those software guys would use a Mac?)!!

  • Problems with new PalmDesktop6.2 and Palm TX

    I have a Palm TX that I have been using and syncing OK for over a year.  I recently installed the PalmDesktop version 6.2 and it seemed to work well.  For Christmas, I received an external disk drive and I moved all of the folders and documents from my My Documents folder on my C: drive to the new external K: drive.  I copied the Palm OS Desktop folder to the new K: drive and also kept a copy back in the My Documents folder on the C: drive.  Since I have done that, I cannot run the new desktop software.  I get the following message when the desktop software tries to start: "Runtime Error!  Program: C:\Program Files\Palm\Palm.exe  This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information. "
    I have read some other posts on doing a clean uninstall for XP but I no longer have the CD that came with the TX that has the original desktop software.  If that is available on the web, I am prepared to do that clean uninstall and re-install.
    Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    I did the complete removal and reinstall, deleted the registry entries and rebooted; I then reloaded Pald Desktop, did a hotsync which appeared to go OK.  When I tried to open the Palm Deskto, I got the same runtime error message I first reported.
