Problems to define Business Processes

Hello,
when trying to define a Business Process and I select the BizPackage and the relevant sender and receiver systems and then click "next", nothing happens and in the browser window, the message "Error on page" appears.
It does not matter, which BizPackage or which systems are related.
Installing the msxml6_SDK.msi and restarting IE (7) did not help.
Does anybody know how this can be solved?

Business process in activity base costing

Hi All,
We have implemented ABC to compute cost for sales order.
We defined business process & templates to compute the cost.
There is one scenario where I need expert advice.
For one of the cost element order to cash have 2 rates one is for a order & another is for a line item in that order.For bith rate we defined separate business process & accordingly mainatined rate in CP26.
In template selected function CalculationRowResult to calculate cost by considering an order as a one number. but we have one case where we want to calculate cost for each line item of sales order. EG if one order has 3 line items & rate is $1 then cost is
3*1=3.
Could anyone please tell me which function to use to calculate number of line items from an order? or there is any other standard method to calculate cost?

I think, you have to understand the requirement and adaptabilty of ABC as well Activity price.
Each sale order will have atleast one Order item and Header.
Generally,header covers for all items and item specifically cover Sale order Item.
As I know in sale Order costing means Sale Order item costing.when other cost objects are linked with sale Order Item,
Settlement happens to SO item.
I request you, for my understanding,pl.confirm your intention to apply cost at header level and item level !
Please provide more inputs on contemplated scenario for better understanding of your problem.

How to map business process and enterprise service?

Recently, I read some documents about ESA. I'm confusing about the relationship between business process and enterprise service. In other word, how to map the business process to enterprise service after the business process is analyzed? Is there any methodology/rule to define business process and wrap them into service in ESA?

I like to add some of my thoughts about that discussion. From my point of view ESA is much more than just another BPM or Enterprise BPM. ESA is adresses six key areas and I think all of them are really needed:
- People Productivity as the word itself describes...it's about portals and productivity.
- Embedded Analytics has to integrate transactional and analytical content.
- Service Composition is used for model-driven service composition and services orchestration.
- Service Enablement is about a Enterprise Services Repository filled with business meaningful Enterprise Services and service patterns for enabled objects. Excactly this is where SAP has years of experiences.
- Business Process Platform is about service enablement of all application platform objects and engines. This is the place where "BPM" for core business processes resits.
- Life-Cycle Management has to cover the deployment, configuration, operation and change management for ESA based processes.
Therefore the term "BPM" is located in serveral layers of an ESA approach. On the level of Business Process Platform BPM is providing the choreography for core business preocesses.
At Service Enablement BPM needs to compose out of granular services (I would say "atomic" services)
buiness meaningful services (here we have "molecular" services).
The third level where BPM could be used is Service Composition because exactly this is the place
where serveral Enterprise Services could be combined to a process representation.
To come back to the discussion:
1. The question should be how to indentify business meaningful services which could represent single process steps. ATP check, Credit card check, ... could be examples. In theory this service could be out-tasked, defined more flexible etc. This means that processes needs to be evaluated for Enterprise Service candidates. Afterwards you can check against SAP's Enterprise Services Repository for already existing Enterprise Services. The evalution for enterprise services candidates will be supported by the metodology mentioned by Kaj and David.
2. I think domains in this context should be motivated by business and/or functional areas. Depending on the granularity. For example Order Fulfilment Services, Master Data Services, Search Services... These kind of serices can be combined again to services such as "Search of Master Data" (Search Service + Read Master Data Service) etc. or can be used to generate UI to be used in a ESA application.

Business Process and sub Process IN ERM and CUP

Hi Friends,
We are in intial stage of GRC implimentation. Now I am uploading the roles into ERM and CUP. I have defined business processes and sub processes for the roles and upload the roles successfully in ERM. But when I am doing the same excercise in CUP especially during creation of sub process it is not allowing the charecter "-" in the name space.
E.g. Business process name is EHS-SM (Uploaded to CUP)
Sub process name is EHS-SM1.1 (not allowing to create in CUP wher as successfully created in ERM)
My question is
1. why it allows me to do the same thing in ERM but not in CUP.
2. Is there any way to maintain the name with chaecter "-".
For your information I am in the phase of defining the attributes for the roles.

I will have a hard time ahead with BP and SBP. all are in the same format. I dont think my company will agree to change the name of there BP or SBP because they are thousands in count and also there is no other way around in GRC,

GRC AC 10 - Defining sub processes

We are in the process of implementing AC 10 and need to define the Business and sub processes for the role creation methodology and to upload the existing roles into AC Role management tool. The issue is we have only Business process defined for our existing roles and there is no sub process defined/exist for the roles as they are created as per the BP and position wise.
I would like to know how we can define the sub processes for our existing and future roles as our company does not have the sub processes defined. We define roles on the basis of Business process followed with the staff position.

Defining Sub processes is functional task .You can get help from your BAu2019s and FAu2019s . After defining business process you can decide default access for business process and additional access can be requested by mentioning role name .

In GRC 10 . You can define sub process in SPRO->GRC->AC->Maintain Business processes and Sub processes .

Business Process Composer: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR

We seem to have a problem using Oracle Business Process Composer. Whenever we have a Human Task and a Notification Task in our process and we try to save, we get the following error:
java.lang.ClassCastException
ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR
Is there something we can do about this? I have tried several things and managed to isolate the issue to always going wrong whenever both Human Task and Notification Task are in a process, but I don't know how we can make sure that the error won't happen. The problem doesn't occur when it's either one of them in the process or in any other situation that we've had so far. Also, it doesn't seem to matter to which Roles the tasks are assigned, the error is always there.
Our version of Oracle FMW is 11.1.1.7 (SP6).
Hope someone recognizes the issue and can help us.

edit: it does work in JDeveloper and if we save to MDS from there, it works without problems in Business Process Composer too, but this is a workaround that's not very comfortable for our business analysts.

Problem with business process modelling

Im facing a new problem, while trying to build a new business process in Solution_Manager im getting the runtime raise_exception each time im activating the business process details button.
What are the reasons? And how do i handle it?

Problems with user-defined update-process

Hi.
I have a small problem in the right syntax in an user-defined updated process.
The process is called by a button on the page and should update a record in a table.

WHERE username = V('P2120_USERNAME')

This is the code of the process. The line with the problem is marked bold. P2120_USERNAME is a text field in the page and contains the username to be updated.
The problem is, that the comparison doesn't work. the value "smith" is available in the table and is the same as in the text field. (both in lower case).
If I replace the part V('P2120_USERNAME') with 'smith' (with single quotes), the update statement works properly.
How do I have to compare the username with the item value that it works properly?

2 + 3 Well. I enclosed both tags in the TRIM-Operator and it works. First, I thought, a whitespace caused the problems. To determine which value contains the whitespaces I removed the trim-tags on both sides. It works.
It is quite funny, because,if I remove both tags, it works too? Well. Yesterday it didnt.
To be on the safe side, I will include the trim-tags.

User defined notification & custom alert in business process(eInsight)?

HI All,
I have a User Defined Notification Type setup in AlertAgent.
I want to create a Custom Alert in a Business Process that will be picked up by the User Defined Notification Type I have setup. I can't figure this out though?
The documentation doesn't seem to cover this (briefly mentions collaborations only), and I can find no examples.
Can you please explain how this is done, and/or send an example.

To send out a custom alert, you'll need to call the alerter.cutom() method. However, this method is available only in a JCD.
Here is the syntax:
alerter.custom(String arg0, String arg1, String arg2);
where
- arg0 be an existing alert type you created via your properties file, or you defined in the AlertAgent as a new Notification.
- arg1 is the severity of the alert
- arg2 is the detailed message for the alert
example:
alerter.custom("HD-00001", "INFO", "custom test alert")
The severity must be one of the valid alert severity levels {"FATAL","CRITICAL","MAJOR","MINOR","WARNING","INFO"}. There is a mention of how this should work in eGate_Sys_Admin_Guide.pdf section 8.4 and 8.4.1.

My Question here is , i want to add some node on parallel to to Business Scnario and Business process. as per my knowledge it is not Possible . But you guys did something on this please let me know.

In solution manager till EHP1 it is not possible to meet what is ur requirement but you can do the following as an alternative
Project
Master Data
Organization Structure
Business Scenario Std Selected from BPR e.g Service Desk
Business Process std
Business Process Step Std
Business Scenario Non Std Directly entered the name of scenario in Structure tab e.g any Zscenario
Business Process Non std ( you need to add here the process for zscenario)
Business Process Step Non Std ( you need to add here the process step for z*)
But if you very specific to go with 4 main nodes as you said then you need to modify the standard with ABAP Developement and there is no alternative.

Problem with Business Process Publisher and AIA

After installing AIA 11.1.1.5, I installed the Business Process Publisher following the instructions in the AIA Installation Guide at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/aia.htm, sec. 8.3: "Manually uploading reference process models to business process publisher".
Since I could not find the Publisher installation files in the AIAFP install I downloaded from OTN, I used the Publisher installation files from the BPA OTN download (files Oracle_BPA_Suite_11.1.1.4_OTN_1of2.zip and Oracle_BPA_Suite_11.1.1.4_OTN_2of2.zip - I did not install BPA before installing Publisher).
Now when I launch Publisher the login page says "Currently, no exports are available. You can only log in to the administration area at this time". If I login, the new page does not show any AIA contents, only the message "There are currently no profiles available". (I am not sure which “exports” and “profiles” it is talking about).
Evidently something is missing, but I cannot figure out what.

of it? If you chose not to install the examples, or if you chose not to install
