Problems using a variable with a tag of a webapp

I have a webapp where I've built a field in the database for the item is active or not, depending if my client chooses if it's free or not.
The name of the tag that I want to use as a variable is { tag_estado } and has two values:
Gratis
Pago
When in jQuery I create a variable to store the value of this tag and created a conditional to activate the link and icon of the item, always the tag value prints it on "Pago", even though the webapp item has the value of "Gratis"
I appreciate your time to help me resolve this issue.

It's tough to tell without seeing the page but it looks like your code may be defaulting to the else statement. You could delete the else and see if it does anything

  • Time Format using text variable with replacement path

    Hi Friends,
                                 I've used "Text variable with replacement path" to make the column heading dynamic by replacing the values referring from "0calday"...
    everything is working fine, but here it is displaying the time format like
    YYYYMMDD (20030101), i want it to be displayed DDMMYYYY (01012003) in the column heading... how to make it possible?
    pls waiting for ur inputs, it's an urgent...
    Regards,
    Pattnaik

    Hi Satyakam,
    In the text variable properties make sure that in the replacment path you have chosen "Text" to appear date as per user setting . Other wise as in your case it must be set to "Key" which always shows in the format YYYYMMDD.
    Hope that helps.

  • Using bind variable with IN clause

    My application runs a limited number of straight up queries (no stored procs) using ODP.NET. For the most part, I'm able to use bind variables to help with query caching, etc... but I'm at a loss as to how to use bind variables with IN clauses. Basically, I'm looking for something like this:
    int objectId = 123;
    string[] listOfValues = { "a", "b", "c"};
    OracleCommand command = new OracleCommand();
    command.Connection = conn;
    command.BindByName = true;
    command.CommandText = @"select blah from mytable where objectId = :objectId and somevalue in (:listOfValues)";
    command.Parameters.Add("objectId", objectId);
    command.Parameters.Add("listOfValues", listOfValues);
    I haven't had much luck yet using an array as a bind variable. Do I need to pass it in as a PL/SQL associative array? Cast the values to a TABLE?
    Thanks,
    Nick

  • How to use shared variables with native c programs

    Hello
    What is the way to use shared variables with native c programs?
    I have a c/c++ program that uses the NIDAQmx C-API to perform measurements. Now I want to communicate to a LabVIEW program via shared variables.
    Is there a C-API for shared variables as there is for the NIDAQmx functionality? Where can I find further documentation? The document "Using the LabVIEW Shared Variable" mentions that one "can read and write to shared variables in ANSI C", but there are no hints about how and where to look.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi user42,
    with CVI 8.0, you cannot create or configure shared variables. However, you can read or write to an already configured LabVIEW 8.x shared variable from CVI using the DataSocket API.
    In order to do this you need to have and DataSocket 4.3 or higher installed.
    Here's a forum post about using the DataSocket functions a LabVIEW Shared Variables:
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=180&message.id=24569&requireLogin=False
    With CVI 8.1 and Measurement Studio 8.1 it's possible to use Shared Variables via the Network Varaiable Library (check out the end of the "Network-Published Shared Variable" section within the "Using the LabVIEW Shared Variable" documentation and the following link).

    Why are you using dynamic SQL statements? Why not just use something like this instead in your PL/SQL. I also replaced the leading // in your Xpath with just / since you start from the root node.
    select *
      INTO l_dummy
      from xmltable(XMLNAMESPACES('http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema' AS "XSD", default 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/'),

  • Problem using SQL Loader with ODI

    Hi,
    I am having problems using SQL Loader with ODI. I am trying to fill an oracle table with data from a txt file. At first I had used "File to SQL" LKM, but due to the size of the source txt file (700MB), I decided to use "File to Oracle (SQLLDR)" LKM.
    The error that appears in myFile.txt.log is: "SQL*Loader-101: Invalid argument for username/password"
    I think that the problem could be in the definition of the data server (Physical architecutre in topology), because I have left blank Host, user and password.
    Is this the problem? What host and user should I use? With "File to SQL" works fine living this blank, but takes to much time.
    Thanks in advance

    I tried to use your code, but I couldn´t make it work (I don´t know Jython). I think the problem could be with the use of quotes

    if retVal == 1 or retVal > 2:

  • Problem using CORBA clients with RMI/EJB servers..!!!???

    Hi,
    I have a question on using EJB / or RMI servers with CORBA clients using
    RMI-IIOP transport, which in theory should work, but in practice has few
    glitches.
    Basically, I have implemented a very simple server, StockTreader, which
    looks up for a symbol and returns a 'Stock' object. In the first example, I
    simplified the 'Stock' object to be a mere java.lang.String, so that lookup
    would simply return the 'synbol'.
    Then I have implemented the above, as an RMI-IIOP server (case 1) and a
    CORBA server (case 2) with respective clients, and the pair of
    client-servers work fine as long as they are CORBA-to-CORBA and RMI-to-RMI.
    But the problem arises when I tried using the RMI server (via IIOP) with the
    CORBA client, when the client tries to narrow the object ref obtained from
    the naming service into the CORBA idl defined type (StockTrader) it ends up
    with a class cast exception.
    This is what I did to achieve the above results:
    [1] Define an RMI interface StockTrader.java (extending java.rmi.Remote)
    with the method,
    public String lookup( String symbol) throws RMIException;
    [2] Implement the StorckTrader interface (on a PortableRemoteObject derived
    class, to make it IIOP compliant), and then the server to register the stock
    trader with COS Naming service as follows:
    String homeName =....
    StockTraderImpl trader =new StockTraderImpl();
    System.out.println("binding obj <" homeName ">...");
    java.util.Hashtable ht =new java.util.Hashtable();
    ht.put("java.naming.factory.initial", args[2]);
    ht.put("java.naming.provider.url", args[3]);
    Context ctx =new InitialContext(ht);
    ctx.rebind(homeName, trader);
    [3] Generate the RMI-IIOP skeletons for the Implementation class,
    rmic -iiop stock.StockTraderImpl
    [4] generate the IDL for the RMI interface,
    rmic -idl stock.StockTraderImpl
    [5] Generate IDL stubs for the CORBA client,
    idlj -v -fclient -emitAll StockTraderImpl.idl
    [6] Write the client to use the IDL-defined stock trader,
    String serverName =args[0];
    String symList =args[1];
    StockClient client =new StockClient();
    System.out.println("init orb...");
    ORB orb =ORB.init(args, null);
    System.out.println("resolve init name service...");
    org.omg.CORBA.Object objRef
    =orb.resolve_initial_references("NameService");
    NamingContext naming =NamingContextHelper.narrow(objRef);
    ... define a naming component etc...
    org.omg.CORBA.Object obj =naming.resolve(...);
    System.out.println("narrow objRef: " obj.getClass() ": " +obj);
    StockTrader trader =StockTraderHelper.narrow(obj);
    [7] Compile all the classes using Java 1.2.2
    [8] start tnameserv (naming service), then the server to register the RMI
    server obj
    [9] Run the CORBA client, passing it the COSNaming service ref name (with
    which the server obj is registered)
    The CORBA client successfully finds the server obj ref in the naming
    service, the operation StockTraderHelper.narrow() fails in the segment
    below, with a class cast exception:
    org.omg.CORBA.Object obj =naming.resolve(...);
    StockTrader trader =StockTraderHelper.narrow(obj);
    The <obj> returned by naming service turns out to be of the type;
    class com.sun.rmi.iiop.CDRInputStream$1
    This is of the same type when stock trader object is registered in a CORBA
    server (as opposed to an RMI server), but works correctly with no casting
    excpetions..
    Any ideas / hints very welcome.
    thanks in advance,
    -hari

    On the contrary... all that is being said is that we needed to provide clearer examples/documentation in the 5.1.0 release. There will be no difference between the product as found in the service pack and the product found in the 5.1.1. That is, the only substantive will be that 5.1.1 will also
    include the examples.

    With reference to your and other messages, it appears that one should not

    option in the current release of WLS.

    We currently publish an IDL example, even though the IDL programmingmodel in Java is completely non-functional, in anticipation of the support
    needs for uses who need to use IDL to talk to the Weblogic server,
    generically. This example illustrates the simplest connectivity; it does not
    address how
    to integrate CORBA and EJB, a broad topic, fraught with peril, imo. I'llnote in passing that, to my knowledge, none of the other vendors attempt
    this topic either, a point which is telling if all the less happy to hear.
    For the record then, what is missing from our distribution wrt RMI-IIOPare a RMI-IIOP example, an EJB-IIOP example, an EJB-C++. In this you are
    correct; better examples are forth coming.
    Still, I would not call our RMI-IIOP implementation fragile. I would saythat customers have an understandably hard time accepting that the IDL
    programming model is busted; busted in the sense that there are no C++
    libraries to support the EJB model, and busted in the sense that there is
    simply no
    support in Java for an IDL interface to an EJB. Weblogic has nothing to doit being busted, although we are trying to help our customers deal with it
    in productive ways.
    For the moment, what there is is a RMI (over IIOP) programming model, aninherently Java to Java programming model, and true to that, we accept and
    dispatch IIOP request into RMI server objects. The way I look at it is this:
    it's just a protocol, like HTTP, or JRMP; it's not IDL and it has
    practically nothing to do with CORBA.

    Please post request to the news group...
    As I said, you must separate the idl related classes (class files and
    java
    files) from the rmi classes... in the rmic step, you must set a newtarget
    (as you did), emit the java files into that directory (it's not clearyou
    did this), then remove all the rmi class files from the class path... ifyou
    need to compile more classes at that point, copy the java files to theidl
    directly is you must, but you can not share the types in any way.
    I fear that as soon as the call to narrow succeeds, the remainingapplication will fail to work correctly because it is too difficult otuse
    an idl client in java to work.

    Hi Eduardo,
    Thanks for the help. That is the way I compiled my CORBA client, by
    separating the IDL-generated stubs from the RMI ones, but still I
    get a
    CORBA.BAD_PARAM upon narrowing the client proxy to the interfacetype.
    Here's what I did;
    + Define the RMI interfaces, in this case a StockTrader interface.
    + Implement RMI interface by extendingjavax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject
    making
    it IIOP compliant
    + Implemnnt an RMI server, and compile using JDK1.2.2
    + use the RMI implementation to generate CORBA idl, using RMI-IIOPplugin
    utility rmic;
    rmic -idl -noValueMethods -always -d idl stock.StockTraderImpl
    + generate Java mappings to the IDL generated above, using RMI-IIOPplugin
    util,
    idlj -v -fclient -emitAll -tf src stocks\StockTrader.idl
    This creates source for the package stock and also
    org.omg.CORBA.*
    package, presumably IIOP type marshalling
    + compile all classes generated above using JDK1.2.2
    + Implement client (CORBA) using the classes generated above, NOTthe
    RMI
    proxies.
    + start RMI server, with stockTrader server obj
    + start tnameserv
    + start CORBA client
    Then the client errors when trying to narrow the obj ref from the
    naming
    service, into the CORBA IDL defined interface using,
    org.omg.CORBA.Object obj =naming.resolve(nn);
    StockTrader trader =StockTraderHelper.narrow(obj); // THIS

    Please see the post on june 26, re Errors compiling... somewherein
    there,
    I suspect, you are referring to the rmi class file when you are
    obliged
    to
    completely segregate these from the idl class files.

    Hi,
    I have a question on using EJB / or RMI servers with CORBA
    clients
    using
    RMI-IIOP transport, which in theory should work, but in practice
    has
    few
    glitches.
    Basically, I have implemented a very simple server,
    StockTreader,
    which
    looks up for a symbol and returns a 'Stock' object. In the firstexample, I
    simplified the 'Stock' object to be a mere java.lang.String, so
    that
    lookup
    would simply return the 'synbol'.
    Then I have implemented the above, as an RMI-IIOP server (case
    1)
    and a
    CORBA server (case 2) with respective clients, and the pair of
    client-servers work fine as long as they are CORBA-to-CORBA andRMI-to-RMI.
    But the problem arises when I tried using the RMI server (via
    IIOP)
    with
    the
    CORBA client, when the client tries to narrow the object ref
    obtained
    from
    the naming service into the CORBA idl defined type (StockTrader)
    it
    ends
    up
    with a class cast exception.
    This is what I did to achieve the above results:
    [1] Define an RMI interface StockTrader.java (extending
    java.rmi.Remote)
    with the method,
    public String lookup( String symbol) throws RMIException;
    [2] Implement the StorckTrader interface (on a
    PortableRemoteObject
    derived
    class, to make it IIOP compliant), and then the server to
    register
    the
    stock
    trader with COS Naming service as follows:
    String homeName =....
    StockTraderImpl trader =new StockTraderImpl();
    System.out.println("binding obj <" homeName ">...");
    java.util.Hashtable ht =new java.util.Hashtable();
    ht.put("java.naming.factory.initial", args[2]);
    ht.put("java.naming.provider.url", args[3]);
    Context ctx =new InitialContext(ht);
    ctx.rebind(homeName, trader);
    [3] Generate the RMI-IIOP skeletons for the Implementation
    class,
    rmic -iiop stock.StockTraderImpl
    [4] generate the IDL for the RMI interface,
    rmic -idl stock.StockTraderImpl
    [5] Generate IDL stubs for the CORBA client,
    idlj -v -fclient -emitAll StockTraderImpl.idl
    [6] Write the client to use the IDL-defined stock trader,
    String serverName =args[0];
    String symList =args[1];
    StockClient client =new StockClient();
    System.out.println("init orb...");
    ORB orb =ORB.init(args, null);
    System.out.println("resolve init name service...");
    org.omg.CORBA.Object objRef
    =orb.resolve_initial_references("NameService");
    NamingContext naming=NamingContextHelper.narrow(objRef);
    ... define a naming component etc...
    org.omg.CORBA.Object obj =naming.resolve(...);
    System.out.println("narrow objRef: " obj.getClass() ":"
    +obj);
    StockTrader trader =StockTraderHelper.narrow(obj);
    [7] Compile all the classes using Java 1.2.2
    [8] start tnameserv (naming service), then the server to
    register
    the
    RMI
    server obj
    [9] Run the CORBA client, passing it the COSNaming service ref
    name
    (with
    which the server obj is registered)
    The CORBA client successfully finds the server obj ref in the
    naming
    service, the operation StockTraderHelper.narrow() fails in thesegment
    below, with a class cast exception:
    org.omg.CORBA.Object obj =naming.resolve(...);
    StockTrader trader =StockTraderHelper.narrow(obj);
    The <obj> returned by naming service turns out to be of the
    type;
    class com.sun.rmi.iiop.CDRInputStream$1
    This is of the same type when stock trader object is registeredin a
    CORBA
    server (as opposed to an RMI server), but works correctly with
    no
    casting
    excpetions..
    Any ideas / hints very welcome.
    thanks in advance,

  • Problem using local variable in event loop

    I have a state machine from which I want to monitor various controls, including "Start" and "Stop" buttons.  Not every state needs to monitor the controls.  At present, most states run timed loops.  In the first state that reads the front panel, I have an Event structure (inside a While loop) that monitors the various controls' Change Value events.  For numeric controls, I update variables (in shift registers) as needed.  The "Start" button is used to end the While loop controlling the Event structure, allowing the State to exit to the next state.
    My problem comes in subsequent states that employ this same idea.  Here, I put a Local Variable bound to the Start button and use the same code, but it frequently happens that when I enter this particular state, I cannot "turn on" the control -- I push the button, but it stays off.  Curiously, if it was On when I enter, I can turn it off, but then I'm stuck not being able to turn it on.
    I mocked up a very simply routine that illustrates this.  There are two sequences (corresponding to the two states).  Both use an Event loop with a local variable bound to my Stop button (really this is an LED control with custom colors).  I've deliberately moved the "initialization" (the declaration of the control in the block diagram) out of the Event loops -- putting it inside the first loop modifies the behavior in another strange way.
    Here's my thinking on how I would expect this to work:  The code outside Event Loop 1 should have little effect.  Assume the Stop button is initially Off.  You will "sit" in Event Loop 1 until you push the Stop button, changing its value to True; this value will be passed out of the Event case and cause the first While loop to exit.  You now enter the second sequence.  As I understand the Exit tunnel, it defaults to "False", so I'd expect to stay in the second Event loop until I turn the Stop button from On to Off, which will pass out a False, and keep me in the While for one more button push.  However, this doesn't happen -- I immediately exit, as though the "True" value of the Stop local variable is being seen and recognized by the Event loop (even though it hasn't changed, at least not in the context of this second loop).
    An even more curious thing occurs if I start this routine with the Stop button turned on.  Now I start in my Event loop waiting for a change, but this time the change will be from On to Off, which won't cause an exit from the frame.  This will be reflected by having the While loop count increment.  We should now be in the state of the example above, i.e. in an Event loop waiting for the control to be pushed again, and turned On.  However, clicking the control has no effect -- I cannot get it to "turn on".
    Where am I going astray in my thinking?  What is it about this method of doing things that violates the Labview paradigm?  As far as I can tell, what I'm doing is "legal", and I don't see the flaw in my reasoning, above (of course not -- otherwise I'd have fixed it myself!).  Note that because I'm using local variables inside Event loops (and I'm doing this because there are two places in my code where I want to do such testing), the Stop control is not latching (as required).  Is there something that gets triggered/set when one reads a latched control?  Do I need to do this "manually" using my local variable?
    I'll try to attach the simple VI that illustrates this behavior.

    Actually, that's OK.  NOT OK is having multiple event structures in the same sequence structure.

    That's interesting.  I had always thought I read more messages discouraging such a thing rather than saying it was okay.  Your link lead me to another thread with this message. http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=245793#M245793.  Now that thread was mainly concentrating on registered user events which would be a different, but related animal.
    So if you have 2 event structures they each have their own event queue?  So if you have a common event, one structure pulls it off its event queue and it does not affect the other structure's event queue?  I guess the inherent problem with this particular VI was that the second event structure locked the front panel.  Since the code never got to that 2nd event structure because the  first loop never stopped because the change was from true to false.  After reading your post and the others, I did some experimentation and turned off the Lock front panel on the 2nd structure, and that prevented the lockup of the program.
    Overall, the example VI still shows problems with the architecture and I think your answer should put the original poster on the right track.  I think as a rule I would probably never put the same event in multiple structures, I feel there are better ways to communicate the same event between different parts of a program,  but I learned something by reading your reply and about how the event structures work in the background.  Thanks.

  • Problems using substitution variable in Web Analysis

    Dear all,
    I have a Web Analysis report that I need to show a raking table with the current month.
    For that I create a variable in Essbase that is updated with that date (E.g.: varCurrentMonth).
    After that I use it as my substitution variable to filter my date dimension in a report data source (E.g.: Scr5, row: product, column: date dimension & measure):
    2008 (current month)
    Product $ qty.
    AAA 100 10
    BBB 90 7
    CCC 80 5
    The problem is that in our cube we need to use an alias in every dimension not to have duplicate members (E.g.: DT.Date, MS.Measure, PD.Product, etc). And when we use it we need to set up the variable in Essbase using that alias (E.g.: DT.Feb/05/08). And if we use that variable as a substitution variable in the report data source the label displayed is the DT.2008 and not 2008 as expected.
    Does anybody have an idea how to solve that?
    Many thanks,
    Thiago Gabriel

    You usually get this error message if you are trying to assign a value from a sub var to a member that does not exist.
    e.g. trying to put FY08 which is a year member against a period dimension
    or trying to use a sub var of FY09 which does not yet exist in the essbase, so say you added a new year in planning FY09 and used the sub var in the form but have not refreshed the database then it would fail because the year would not have been pushed down to essbase yet.
    or the value of the subvar does not match a member name exactly
    or using a sub var name that does not exist in essbase, e.g. using &nextYear but the sub var has not been created in essbase.
    You can definitely use subsitution variables in columns in the version you are using and prior version.

  • Use shared variables with FPGA device on Host PC

    Hi all I am having a frustrating problem. I am trying to use shared
    variables linked to a cRIO 9012. The shared variables were created and
    then written to in a RT vi. is there any way I can assign locations to
    these not within a RT vi. I altimately need to run the Host vi on a
    TPC-2512 touch panel computer and I can't run a RT application on that. I
    just need the variables to update without the RT vi running and I can't
    figure out how to do that, if its even possible. Here is what I have so
    far. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Adam:
    You may be able to use arrays to speed up your program, but bear in mind that the TPC is pretty much guaranteed to be slower than your computer (as it's likely to have lower system specs).
    You'll want to use the array manipulation functions to combine and retrieve your data (most useful will likely be "Build Array" and "Index Array," see context/LabVIEW help for more details). Once you have the data in an array, you can likely pass it through a shared variable configured for an array datatype.
    I'm not sure if/how much of a speed boost it will give you, but I think it's definitely worth trying. If you're not sure about the speed, try simply cutting your variable count in half and see what kind of speed increase you get with the same amount of code but fewer variable values being transmitted through your network connection.
    Good luck!

  • APD - error when activating, problem: 7.0 variable with long technical name

    Hello everybody!
    I have got the following problem:
    I created an APD, with one filter on 0calday using a variable. This variable was created on our own and works without any problems. It's a 7.0 variable with a long description "W_E_M_0CALDAY_WDLAS"
    If I try to activate the APD I get an error message "Analysis Process Has Errors, Activation Is Not Possible" and "Variable W_E_M_0CALDAY_WDLAS does not exist actively". But this variable is active!
    My colleague told me, that there seems to be a problem with long technical names of variables in APD. I tried to find a SAP note to this topic, but I didn't.
    Had anyone else this problem? How was it solved? Or are there any SAP notes I didn't find?
    Thanks for your help!
    Bettina

    In the meantime I copied the variable to a shorter name, but it still doesn't work. I tried it with a 3.x variable and a 7.0 variable. In the exit I first added an OR condition to the when-case, but this didn't also help. Afterwards I copied the whole coding in a separate when-clause.
    Stil not successful. Factory calender is OK. The variables also work in a normal query but not in the APD - the result of the last workday is always '00000000'.
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards,
    Bettina

  • Using a variable with "tell application"

    I'd like to use a variable (app_name) with "tell application" in the following function:
    on getAdobeDoc(app_name)
    tell application app_name
    tell current document
    return (name as Unicode text)
    end tell
    end tell
    end getAdobeDoc
    but I'm getting the following error in Script Editor
    "Expected end of line but found class name." with the word "document" highlighted.
    Are you allowed to use variables in "tell application"? All Adobe CS apps seem to use the same format to get the document name so I'd like to use one function to get them.

    If the application might have a different name on the target machine (for example, if it has a version number added), you can use an application's bundle identifier (or creator code) to set the variable, in which case the using terms from statement tells AppleScript the application (on your machine) to get the dictionary terms from. If the application you are using terms from has a dictionary identical to your variable, everything should work the same. The following example uses a variable (called, appropriately enough, TexttEdit) for the TextEdit application:
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #FFDDFF;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    tell application "Finder" to set TextEdit to the name of application file id "com.apple.TextEdit"
    tell application TextEdit
    using terms from application "TextEdit"
    launch
    make new document with properties {text:"This is a test"}
    end using terms from
    end tell
    </pre>

  • Using a Variable with AJAX

    Hello,
    Below I have posted code that I have on two different PHP files, tsearch12.php and votes12.php. The code works great. The file "tsearch12.php" uses AJAX to go to votes12.php to perform some functions. However, the first page has a variable called "find." These two pages only work together when the variable "find" equals "santafe." I would like them to work together regardless of what "find" equals. In other words, I would like to replace the table name "santafe" in votes12.php with the variable "find," but I want the variable "find" to equal the same value in both tsearch12.php and votes12.php. The variable "find" is going to tsearch12.php from another file, which has a simple HTML form with "<form action="tsearch12.php" method="post">" and "<input type="text" name="find" size="55"/>". Anyway, how do I use the variable "find" in votes12.php?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Using a Variable with BEX Java Applications

    If I put a variable into a query and try to run the query using anything Java based (e.g. Web analyzer) when I do a drop down on the variable in the query to make a selection I dont get a proper selection choice. For example if I have a variable on Cost Centre I do the drop down on cost centre and I dont get a list of cost centres to chose from I just get ?? where the cost centres should be. If I select a ?? it does select a cost centre. It's just pot luck which you selec as they are all ??!  This happens on any variable I use SAP Standard or any I have created. Any ideas - sounds like a Java patch should fix it but I cant see anything in SAP notes etc.

    I put a query in a WAD or when I Execute a Query from the Query designer.  When I run the query the variable on the filter kicks in and it requests I select something e.g. cost centre. When I do the drop down in the variable to select a cost centre I dont get a list of cost centres. Only ?? where a cost centre should be. However when I select a ?? it does know what the cost cejtre is as it populates the variable with a cost centre. All the cost centre data is loaded etc.

  • Problem using iPad mirroring with an Apple TV and 4:3 Projector

    I'm a teacher and I've been using my iPad 2 in the classroom for about a year and a half. I would use Apple's VGA Adapter to connect to my projector, which worked fine. I just didn't like being tied down, and the dock connector would come loose very easily and lose connection to the projector, which interrupted the flow of the lesson.
    So this summer, I got an Apple TV and a projector with an HDMI port so I could start using Airplay Mirroring to get the iPad screen onto the projector. But I'm having trouble with the aspect ratio. Forgive my drawing, but the genius at the Apple store had a hard time understanding my explanation, so I'm hoping this will help show what I mean.
    My projector (ViewSonic DLP PJD5133) can be set to either a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio (4:3, 800x600 is the native resolution). My projector screen in the front of the classroom is 4:3, so when the projector is set to 4:3, the image fills up the screen (which is what I want - it needs to be as big as possible so the entire class can see it clearly; plus it means all the output pixels are being used). When the projector is set to 16:9, the image is letterboxed (not ideal unless I'm showing a widescreen video or image).
    The Apple TV's native aspect ratio is widescreen, and the iPad's native aspect ratio is 4:3, so if you use Airplay mirroring on a widescreen TV, the Apple TV will pillarbox the image (add horizontal black bars on each side), so that the image will not be stretched/distorted. (I know that it will show widescreen videos and a few widescreen-ready apps without the pillarbox, but the apps I use in class - Keynote, Noteshelf, etc. - don't fall in that category). The effect on my projector screen is a tiny 4:3 image taking up half the area it would have taken if I had used the VGA connection.
    So in the Apple TV, I went to Settings>Audio & Video>TV resolution, and chose 800x600 60Hz (the max 4:3 resolution for my projector). Since the Apple TV is natively widescreen, it seems to accomplish this change be stretching the image vertically; but it basically works because the Apple TV home screen fills up the projector screen. However, when I turn on Airplay Mirroring on my iPad, the image does not fill up the screen. The Apple TV still puts a pillarbox on the image, so I end up with a distorted, square image of my iPad screen. It's the right height - the max 600 pixels for my projector - but it's not as wide as it should/could be.
    Is there a setting that I'm missing? I understand that the Apple TV has to stretch its home screen image to accommodate the 4:3 resolution, but I think it should be smart enough to realize that if it's receiving a 4:3 image from the iPad and sending it out to a 4:3 TV, it doesn't need to pillarbox the image.
    Before you answer - this is not a problem with the projector settings, and my Apple TV is not defective. You could simulate what's happening on your Apple TV, even if it's hooked up to a widescreen TV. In the Apple TV settings, change the TV Resolution to 800x600 as mentioned above (or any other of the 4:3 options). Now go to the Apple TV home screen, and note the amount of space the image is taking up on your screen (on a widescreen TV, it will be pillarboxed, and it will look like it's been squished horizontally). Then turn on Airplay mirroring on the iPad, and you'll see that the iPad image does not have the same width as the Apple TV home screen and it looks square/squished.
    Also, while my projector does have a zoom function, it will not magnify the small iPad mirror image correctly (if I were to leave the Apple TV and projector on a 16:9 setting). It cuts off the top and sides. But even if it didn't crop the image, it's a digital zoom, so that option still won't fix the fact that I'm not getting a full 800x600 image on the projector. The same problem would apply if I were to move the projector farther away from the screen (so that the widescreen image takes up the full height of the projector screen, while spilling off the sides). I'll still have a lower resolution image, which isn't ideal since I'm often showing text on the screen through Keynote. Also, widescreen videos wouldn't fit on the screen, and I can't move the projector easily because it's fixed to the ceiling.
    Sorry for the long explanation. Any ideas? I'd really appreciate some insight.

    We have the same problem, and not only with ipads. Macbook Air is doing something similar. it can only use airplay with 1080 and 720 resolution, so the image is squeezed on a 4:3 projector. We use AppleTV 3 and Mountain Lion OS. We use ATVPRO from Kanex.
    Apple must get its act together and fix this, they promise gold and green forests, but nothing works.
    DO SOMETHING!
