Problems with ant

Hi,
I'm trying to add a component to the Java Pet Store and when ant tries to compile ShoppingClientFacade where I plugged in my component I get an error saying the package where my component is in, does not exist... Am I missing something in a build file? where do I specify where my component can be found?
thanks alot

Thanks for your reply,
<snip>
>
This is strange because there are other import
statements to other pet store components, which are
found flawlessly. my bean-package is located in the
components directory, just like all other components.
There must be somekind of build.xml-file inside the
apps\petstore directory where I have to specify
exactly where my component can be found. But I just
don't know where. :-(
This should not be true if you placed it, as I understand, at the same location as the other packages...
Ant knows the location - otherwise it would not find the others...
I will have a look at the build.xml, but can you recheck the package definition in your own java file?
Maybe there's a problem....

  • JSP problem with ANT

    Hello!
    I built up a web site and I want to test them using ANT. It works fine with other web page, however it doesn't work with web pages with "session" statement. For example in login.jsp I have the following statement
    session.setAttribute("user", request.getParameter("userName"));
    And if the user's name and password are correct, the user is directed to home.jsp, where i have the following statement to retrieve the user's name:
    String id=session.getAttribute("user").toString();
    In order to test the above 2 pages with ANT, I have the following code in builder.xml:
    <?xml version='1.0'?>
    <project name="proj" default="test" basedir=".">
    <target name="test">
    <get src="http://path/login.jsp?userName=id&passWord=1111" dest="1.html" />
    </target>
    </project>
    When I run the script, I get the error that the home.jsp cannot be opened (see below)
    [get] Error opening connection java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://path/home.jsp
    I am pretty sure the above error is caused by the "session" statement, because if I remove the statement in home.jsp, the page can be correctly opened. But I really need the "session" statement, Can someone tell me how to deal with it?
    thanks a million.

    Usually with a 500 error there's more detail in a server log somewhere. Can you find anything in stderr.log or some such?

  • Problem with Ant Script while deploying a BPEL Process

    Hi all,
    Im making use of Ant script to Deploy a BPEL process ...the bpel process simply invokes the credit rating service and returns the credit rating..credit rating service and the whole BPEL
    process are deployed in the default domain...now i made a new domain and making using of Ant scripts to deploy it to this Domain in the same local server ...i followed the steps
    from this blog http://blogs.oracle.com/rammenon/2007/07/deploying_bpel_process_to_mult.html now my problem is even though i mention a different Domain Name in
    ant- orabpel_dev.properties its always getting deployed to Default domain........can anyone Plzzz help me.
    Edited by: 0racler on Aug 15, 2009 12:09 PM

    in build.properties of the project -
    uncomment (remove the #) and change to the new domain
    # Change below if deploying in domain other than "default"
    #domain = default
    when you run deployProcess target - you should see which domain is used - based on the above variable.

  • Problems with Ant when using JDK1.4

    Hi,
    I am currently trying to convince JDeveloper (9.0.3.10.35) to use jdk1.4 for building and executing my project.
    Now, using the IDE for building and execution everything seems to work fine after switching to the new J2SE Version in the project settings.
    Ant, however, refuses to work with the new IDE. It gives an "Error: Unable to execute Ant"
    On the other hand, staying with the default JDK version 1.3.1_02 (coming with JDeveloper) for ant execution results in conflicts of newer class versions (i.e. org.w3c.dom.Node) w.r.t. to <jdev>/lib/xmlparserv2.jar. The error is:

    Obviously, I am missing something! Any help is highly appreciated!

    I experienced something similar. I tried to use JDK 1.4.2, I compile the project without errors but, when I try to run the project, which has EJBs, it fails.
    If I do the same using JDK 1.3.1.x, it works fine; but I need 1.4.x.

  • Problems with ant auto-loading the base Oracle Weblogic Libraries

    I'm trying to perform an ant build of a Portal Project, and I get errors trying to compile the files from classes that are part of the Oracle WebLogic Portal Server and WebLogic System Libraries. I've tried adding the two list of jars as pathelements in an ant classpath object, but the javac isn't picking up the jars properly. I feel like there should be a script or be able to call a preconfigured version of ant for this.
    I'm using an external version of ant, but using the jdk160_05 from WebLogic.
    In the javac I get initial errors of things like:
    [javac] /vobs/.../Portal/src/Controller.java:1: package javax.servlet.http does not exist
    [javac] import javax.servlet.http.HttpSession;
    [javac] ^
    [javac] /vobs/.../Portal/src/Controller.java:2: package org.apache.beehive.netui.pageflow does not exist
    [javac] import org.apache.beehive.netui.pageflow.PageFlowController;

    not very likely. run ant with the verbose and debug flags and see what gets printed out for classpath etc (these classes are in server/lib/api.jar i think) , no special characters in your paths right?

    then everything works perfectly.
    I’ve tried to remove the WLS included Ant version to avoid conflicts with Ant
    1.6.1 and Ant 1.5.3 (that comes with Weblogic server). I’ve tried to uninstall
    Weblogic Server and just keep weblogic.jar, but I still get the same error. I’ve
    tried to put weblogic.jar on the classpath, still not working. I’ve tried to remove

    project - ant.jar and ant-launcher.jar, but still doesn’t work. If I change $ANT_HOME

    </target>
    </project>
    And I try to run “ant test”
    It doesn’t work with Ant 1.6.1 and weblogic.jar from WLS 8.1 SP1 and SP2. But
    it works perfectly if I change to Ant 1.5.3.

    it works perfectly if I change to Ant 1.5.3.
    Here?s a link to the Ant wlcompile task documentation from BEA:

    We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
    Have you tried closing all apps via the iPad's multitasking bar and then doing a soft-reset and seeing that helps ? To close all apps :
    iOS 7: double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag each app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
    iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Problems with wlserver ant task for WL 8.1

    hi
    i have a problem with using wlserver ant task for Weblogic 8.1
    basically i want to start the server that is already preconfigured and deploy
    one ear.
    here's what i do:
    <taskdef name="wlserver" classname="weblogic.ant.taskdefs.management.WLServer">
    <classpath refid="lib.classpath"/>
    </taskdef>
    <wlserver action="start" dir="D:/BEA/user_projects/domains/mydomain"
    output="wls81.log"/>
    (and then the deployment task - irrelevant here)
    the classpath is generated automatically and includes all jars in the specific
    project directory:
         <path id="lib.classpath">
         <fileset dir="${proj.lib.dir}">
              <include name="**/*.jar"/>
         </fileset>
         </path>
    (weblogic.jar is there as well)
    the problem is when i run it, the following happens:
    - if i have action="start" (or no action attribute at all), i get the following
    exception:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    at weblogic.Home.<init>(Home.java:29)
    at weblogic.Home.getInstance(Home.java:86)

    - if i change it to action="startup" as specified on "wlserver Ant Task Reference"
    it seems that this task is skipped completely. no error messages, no stack trace,
    nothing. i tried -verbose and -debug options on ant, but there're no logs displayed
    whatsoever. it takes less than a second to run this task so i presume it's just
    getting skipped completely.
    i run this from the standalone Ant 1.5.4 on Windows environment.
    i've followed the topic "wlserver Ant task for WebLogic 8.1" where kind of similar
    problem is described but putting weblogic.jar on the system CLASSPATH is not an
    option for this project.
    anyone has any idea about how to get this going?
    cheers

    sounds bug to me. NPE should be correctly handled with appropriate error
    message. Please contact BEA support to log the call.

  • Problem building with ant

    Hi all,
    For some reason i get the following error message when trying to build any of the code in the j2ee tutorial.
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntvdm.exe
    Error while setting up environment for the application. Choose 'close' to terminate the application
    If anyone has any ideas as to why this happens, any help would be much appreciated.
    thanks

    i'm using windows xp pro. i have actually sorted that problem out by replacing ant 1.3 with ant 1.5
    I now have another error message. When i try to run the application client with the foolowing command:
    C:\forte4j\j2sdkee1.3\bin>runclient client \examples\ears\SavingsAccountApp.ear -name SavingsAccountClient -textauth
    I get the following
    Initiating login ...
    Username = null
    Enter Username:guest
    Enter Password:guest123
    Binding name:`java:comp/env/ejb/SimpleSavingsAccount`
    Application threw an exception:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: SavingsAccountHome
    Unbinding name:`java:comp/env/ejb/SimpleSavingsAccount`
    Not sure why i am getting the exception.

  • Problems with line numbers (building via ant).

    We use ant for our builds and are having a problem with getting line numbers into call stacks. When running on linux we do not get the lines for our projects (not all projects have debug option), just (Unknown Source), however we do see line numbers for the tib jars. Eclipse is fine, we can see all line numbers as appropriate.
    I have tried "lines", "lines,source" and "lines,var,source" - all build a different sized jar which suggest something is getting added. However as we see line nums for tib it suggests it's some strange java runtime option. We're using sunjdk 1.5.10 and also jrockit.
    Any ideas/answers most appreciated.

  • Deploying BPEL with Ant Problems

    Hi, I am trying to automate BPEL deployment using HP Deployment Manager, and need to learn how to use Ant to deploy our BPEL processes. I have setup a SOA Suite installation to play around with Ant, but I can't seem to get Ant to work from command line. I am able to deploy a sample process using JDev both by the Deploy option or with the Ant option, but I get errors when using command line.
    I navigated to the location of build.xml in a DOS prompt, ran ant, and get the following error:
    C:\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\BPEL\HelloWorld\build.xml:27: Cannot find ${oracle.home}/integration/bpel/utilities/ant-orabpel.xml imported from C:\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\BPEL\HelloWorld\build.xml
    I'm assuming this is because JDeveloper sets up it's own environment variables for running Ant within the IDE - what do I need to do to have it run in command line mode? The deployments will ultimately be run on RHEL4 - but for testing on windows do I need to set these to look like %ORACLE_HOME%, etc in build.xml?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Kevin
