Problems with Enterprise Beans

I am trying to deploy a simple CMP Entity Bean (without relationships, only 3 fields).
The code is based on The J2EE Tutorial from Sun lesson "Container-Managed Persistence Examples".
I current use JDK 1.4.0 and JDeveloper Preview 9.0.3.988.
My project compiles OK, the EJB-JAR file is OK but when I deploy it I receive to OC4J I receive this:
error: Invalid class file format in C:\ojd9i\j2ee\home\applications\TpProgramaApp\TpProgramaEJB.jar(com/parceria/ejb/TpProgramaLocalHome.class). The major.minor version '48.0' is too recent for this tool to understand.
I tried to deploy it to J2EE RI but a strange error message is displayed at verifier tool:
Error : Primary key field set accessor method [ cdTpPrograma ] is exposed through the remote interface [com.parceria.ejb.TpProgramaLocal ].
(I dont have Remote Interfaces)
What might be wrong?
Could be the JDK Version?
Tanks in advance
Rafael

I corrected the datasource missing information.
In orion-ejb-jar.xml I filled the data source information for my Entity bean as: "jdbc/ParceriaDBDS" where ParceriaDB is the name of my connection to Oracle database in the JDeveloper environment.
However when I try to deploy I receive this message:
---- Deployment started. ---- 21/10/2002 12:12:21

  • Problems with managed beans on included JSPs

    I've got a problem with managed beans within an included JSP
    The included page looks as follows:
    <f:subview id="includedPage" binding="#{testBean.component}">
         <h:outputText value="Hallo from the included page"/>
         <h:outputText value="#{testBean.msg}" />
    </f:subview>The including page is also very simple
    <f:view>
         <html>
              <head>
                   <title>Test include</title>
              </head>
              <body>
                   <h:outputText value="Hello from the including page"/>
                   <jsp:include page="included.jsp"/>
              </body>
         </html>
    </f:view>The testBean is a managed bean with page scope and looks as follows:
    public class TestBean {
        public UIComponent fComponent;
        public TestBean() {
            System.out.println("TestBean Constructor called " + toString() );
        public String getMsg() {
            return "Component = " + fComponent ;
        public void setComponent(UIComponent component) {
            System.out.println("setComponent called " + component);
            fComponent = component;
        public UIComponent getComponent() {
            System.out.println("getComponent called " + fComponent);
            return fComponent;
    }The output to the console is:
    TestBean Constructor called de.kvb.athena.web.beans.TestBean@1bc16f0
    getComponent called null
    TestBean Constructor called de.kvb.athena.web.beans.TestBean@18622f3
    setComponent called javax.faces.component.UINamingContainer@160877b
    TestBean Constructor called de.kvb.athena.web.beans.TestBean@5eb489
    and the page displays
    Hello from the include page
    Hello from the included page Component = null
    Can anyone explain this behavior ? What's the reason that the page displays
    Component = null
    and is it possible to display the parent naming container (subview) this way ?
    how ?
    Thanks

    By "page scope" I assume you mean "none"? If so JSF creates a new bean for each place it's referenced. The closest to the behavior you want, once per "page", is really request scope.
    (I'm not sure why the constructor is being called thrice, though. I should look into this.)
    I assume you want a bean-per-subview scenario. This should be doable, and one way that allows a dynamic number of subviews would be as follows:
    --create a "manager" bean in request scope
    --give it get/set methods that retrieves a Map of "TestBean" instances; the idea is that each subview use a different key "s1", "s2", etc
    back the manager method with Map implementation that checks if there's already a TestBean associated with the key returns it if yes, else null.
    If that seems messy, the component solution is hairy :-) See http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=568937&messageID=2812561

              You realy can do it like Xiang says, but the better way is to use packages. That's
              the way BEA is designed for. If you use packages you can but your bean classes
              in every subfolder beneath Classes. Here for example we have the subfolders test
              and beans:
              You have to declare the package on top of your Bean Source Code:
              package test.beans;
              In your JSP you don't need the import code of Xiang. You only have to refer the
              path of your bean class:
              <jsp:useBean id="testBean" scope="session" class="test.beans.TestBean" />
              There are some other AppServers that only can deploy Java Beans in packages. So
              if you use packages you are always on the right side.

  • Problems with Enterprise Manager Oracle 10gR2

    Hi,
    The installation of 10gR2 on Windows 2000 seems to work.
    I only have a problem with web enterprise manager.
    I can connect to the database correctly and I can manage the database (creating tables, users and so on).
    The only problem is in the first page (home) of the database, accessing with the web enterprise manager.
    In fact I get this "error: java.lang.Exception: IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused", but I however access the db.
    I verified the DBSNMP user and it's active.
    Did someone get the same error?
    Excuse if I'm repeating a previous post, but I received answers about linux environment only (I have Windows 2000 server, instead).
    thanks a lot,
    Francesco

    We have in fact seen the same error. In our case, it appeared after the network guys moved the Oracle server from one domain to another. (This is not an action that I highly recommend, by the way.)
    I used emca to delete the Enterprise Manager agent and recreate it. For a single instance server not in a cluster or on a grid, the commands look like this:
    emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
    emca -config dbcontrol db
    That worked just fine. However, we started getting an "account locked" error when the Enterprise Manager started. And the result is the same as you described. The account is not locked by any means. If you ignore what you see on the screen about an error, you can go on and administer the database just fine. It's just when you get back to the home screen, it tells you that your account is locked and you are not in touch with the instance.
    I can make the error go away for awhile by stopping and starting the agent with
    emctl stop dbconsole
    emctl start dbconsole
    But the error comes back in a little while.
    We don't consider it a show stopper, since the database performs normally. It's just one of those things you wish it would not do.

  • Problems with Enterprise Manager 10g

    Greetings!
    We have 3 databases up and running fine so far. Yesterday I mentioned that the Enterprise Manager for one of the databases is not reachable, although it is up and I can connect to it with SqlPlus. So I checked emctl and it is up and running, and the port I use is also right. Has anyone an idea what I could do in addition to get EM working again? I only have these problems with one db, all others are working great.

    I am not quite getting if these are the reasons of the problem.
    If anybody has faced this issue, kindly help.
    Regards,
    Santosh Bhat

    I did a research of this issue, and I found a know issue on portal 7.0 SP16 that this message throws. The solution on this case is upgrade your system to sp17.
    Your exception also say that your string "String processName = request.getParameter("processName");" Already exist before. so maybe this can be caused also for some custom code, this is a pssibility?
    jsp_CrashesList1279627480225.java:253: processName is already defined in _jspService(javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest,javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse).
    Just to let you know the error of the know issue I referred is exacly:
    The error is:
    com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.jsp.exceptions.CompilingExce
    ption: Error while executing the compilation process:
    [D:/usr/sap/HGE/JC04/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com/tcmonitoringsys
    teminfo/servlet_jsp/sap/monitoring/work/jsp_CrashesList1222431016884.jav
    a:253: processName is already defined in _jspService
    (javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest,javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRes
    ponse)
    #String processName = request.getParameter
    ("processName");
    What I can recomend you is:
    1) If you are on SP16, please evaluate upgrade your system to sp17.
    2) Make suren this issue are not caused for any custom code.
    3) try to go to last path level for the componente that are available on Market Place:
    Obs: Just remember that Paths is not a a SP level, so has just corrections.
    For Example:
    For EP-PSERV component access:

  • User's Group Membership problem with enterprise domain

    Hi
    I have some problems synchronizing Active Directory in LiveCycle ES 8.0.1.
    I'm able to import the users and groups from an active directory to a enterprise domain... but the asociation user to group is not keeped.
    The problem could be why the DN of users is different to the DN of the group?
    the DN users is something like this:
    OU=CED,OU=CDC Utent,DC=house,DC=lan
    and the DN of the group:
    DC=house,DC=lan
    Thanks

    Ok, I think that is not DN value the problem... I tried with another active directory and the association user to group is keeped! But why?
    In the users details of active directory that doesn't synchronize well I have 2 more attribute:
    dSCorePropagationData
    profilePath
    But really I don't understand where is the problem. Maybe the version of Active Directory?
    Does anybody else have this weird issue?
    Thanks.

  • Problem with CMP bean and MySQL: please help me!!!

    Hi,
    I am using J2EE Sun server 1.3 and Mysql 4.0 database with its MySQL Connector/J 3.0.
    The driver connection to the database is fine since "Generate Default SQL" in deploytool gives "SQL generation complete".
    However, I can't have a simple row with one text field called test being created in my mysql table called test.
    Of course , the mysql server is started and the test table set for use.
    Here is my code (I try to access my database from a servlet using a CMP Entity bean):
    try{
    Context initial = new InitialContext();
    Object objref = initial.lookup(EntityHome.JNDI_NAME);
    EntityHome home = (EntityHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,EntityHome.class);
    Entity test= home.create("zob");
    /*EntityHome home = (EntityHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objref,EntityHome.class);
    catch (Exception ex){                                                                out.println("exception message : " + ex.getMessage()+"</body></html>");}
    I get the following exception message :
    RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is: java.rmi.RemoteException: nested exception is: java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error or access violation, message from server: "You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"EntityCMPTable" WHERE "test" = 'zob'' at line 1"; nested exception is: java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error or access violation, message from server: "You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"EntityCMPTable" WHERE "test" = 'zob'' at line 1"
    I would be very grateful for help since I have a close deadline for this!!!!!!!!
    Thank you very much in advance dear java experts!!!!!!!

    Hallo
    I have the same problem and the same configuration.
    Do you have a solution for this problem ??
    Thanks

  • Problem with CMP BEAN ON SUN JAVA APPLICATION SERVER 1.3.1

    I am trying to deploy an entity bean with container managed persistence on sun java app. server 1.3.1. When I go for Deploy, the error 'SQL code not generated for following beans' is comming, when verified with verifier tool, the error shown is 'transaction attributes are not specified' , What should be the problem ?

    Which appserver are you using exactly? the J2EE 1.3.1 RI, SJAS 7.0, SJSAS 7.1....etc
    You need to make sure for that you have specified the correct deployment attributes for your CMP methods. You can pull the ear/jar into deploytool and review it there

  • Problems with Enterprise Manager WebSite

    I have installed Oracle Application Server R2 on a Win2k.
    The problem is that I can do almost nothing through the Enterprise Manager Web Site.
    1. Once, I tried to create a new OC4J instance on a 9iAS install with just ONE deployed application, but I got a Base Exception (or something) that meant nothing to me. After that, most of the components (including OC4J_home) couldn't be managed, although the corresponding application was up and running.
    2. Once, I tried to deploy an EAR file. The procedure would last for ever so I had to close the window of my browser. After that, any change that I tried to make (even a dummy change - just pressing the Apply button of a page) failed telling me that I had to "resync my instance" through the dcm utility. I did and, now, every change I try to apply gives me a timeout error.
    The situation is getting rather iritating. I would like to know if there is any bug. Or is there a certain procedure that I sould follow when dealing with the Enterprise Manager?
    What I have figured out is that when a procedure is interrupted (e.g. when it seems to have stuck), then the problems begin. Is there a way to ensure that the system fully recovers from any previous unsuccessful procedure? I have only tried the "resetFileTransaction" command from the dcm utility without results.
    One last question: can I manage my application server through its XML files manually (without ever touching the enterprise manager)?
    I am desperate. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanx

    I am experiencing the same problems + I run the 9iAS R2 on a machine with 1GB RAM! Furthermore when I call a PL/SQL from a machine other than the AS Server itself not all content is written to the HTTP response and I end up having a broken HTML content.
    The editing of the XML config files came to my mind as well, though you also need to edit the .conf files of the Appache and all Modules you are using ... which is not very productive!
    Cheers Niels

    Out from the log you posted I can see it is a windows platform. One common issue with windows and EM is the lack of a fixed IP Address. If this is the case configure a loopback adapter.
    In the mean time, you don't need to have checked the configure EM DB Control from install time, you can skip this configuration and perform it later, so at least you have a working database just to start.

  • Problem with overloading Bean Classes

    For a default Save- & Rollback-Behavior I have defined a Save & Rollback Button in the template.jspx. The backing bean (GlobalOperationMBean|com.example.GlobalOperationHandler|sessionScope) for the 2 buttons is defined in the taskflow-template. If I want a different or extended behavior I declare the same Bean with a different class (GlobalOperationMBean|com.example.DifferentOperationHandler|sessionScope) in a bounded task flow (Taskflow1). Then I have a second task flow (Taskflow2) where I specified another class (GlobalOperationMBean|com.example.AnotherOperationHandler|sessionScope). DifferentBehaviorHandler and AnotherOperationHandler extend GlobalOperationHandler and override the methods for save and rollback. The overloading of the bean works perfecty in Taskflow 1.
    In Taskflow1 I make a task flow call of Taskflow2. Anticipated behavoir for pressing the Rollback-Button would be the execution of the rollback-method in AnotherOperationHandler (Definition in Taskflow2), but the rollback-method in DifferentOperationHandler (Definition in Taskflow1) is called.
    Do I have to make a special declaration in the taskflow to get it work or do I have to make it completely different?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Frank,
    this is actually what I'm trying to achieve.
    I'm just trying to understand why in my approach the bean in the second taskflow is not used? Do you have a hint?
    Thanks,
    Thomas

  • Problem with entity bean

    Hi friends, i am using cmp entity bean to access my relational data base. In my table i am using a sequence (oracle) to generate a sequentiel number as a unique identifier so in my entity bean i am not inserting a primery key. The problem is that i need to get the primary key of the bean after creating and storing it to use the key for other treatment. Any idea, thank a lot

    Hi,
    It seems you just need to move all "after creation" stuff (including getId()) into ejbPostCreate method.
    If I don't miss anything, think that's all.
    Good luck

  • ADF Faces and BC: Scope problem with managed bean

    Hi,
    I am using JDev 10.1.3 and ADF Faces with ADF BC.
    I have created a managed bean which needs to interact with the binding layer and also receive actions from the web pages. I have a managed property on the bean which is defined as follows:
    <managed-bean>
        <managed-bean-name>navigator</managed-bean-name>
        <managed-bean-class>ecu.ethics.view.managed.Navigator</managed-bean-class>
        <managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
        <managed-property>
          <property-name>bindings</property-name>
          <value>#{bindings}</value>
        </managed-property>
      </managed-bean>I need the been to session scope because it needs to keep previous and next pages to navigate the user through their proposal. If i use session scope (as above) i get the following error when i click on a comand link which references a method in the above bean: #{navigator.forwardNext_action} which returns a global forward.
    this is the exception:
    javax.faces.FacesException: #{navigator.forwardNext_action}:

    javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet.service(FacesServlet.java:197)how can i get around this?
    Brenden

    Hi pp,
    you need to create a managed (not backing) been set to session scope.
    You can call/reference the managed bean from your page.
    the backing bean is designed around a page lifecyle which is request oriented in it's design.
    This is a simple managed bean from faces-config.xml
    <managed-bean>
        <managed-bean-name>UserInfo</managed-bean-name>
        <managed-bean-class>ecu.ethics.admin.view.managed.UserInfo</managed-bean-class>
        <managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
          <managed-property>
          <property-name>bindings</property-name>
          <property-class>oracle.adf.model.BindingContext</property-class>
          <value>#{data}</value>
        </managed-property>
      </managed-bean>and the getters and setters for bindings in your session scope managed bean:
        public void setBindings(BindingContext bindings) {
            this._bindings = bindings;
        public BindingContext getBindings() {
            return _bindings;
        }you can access the model from the managed bean using the the BindingContext if needed.
    also have a look at JSFUtils from the ADF BC SRDemo application, there are methods in this class such as resolveExpression which demonstrate how to get the values of items on your page programatically using expression language. You can use this in your managed bean to get values from your pages.
    regards,
    Brenden
