Problems with "Fn" + Home/End

Please help me with my trouble. i have Lenovo sl 500. I've decided to update my windows vista home basic( that was built-in my notebook) to windows 7. All troubles were solved, but i cannot change the level of brightness(pressing Fn +home/end ) the other combinations with the button  "Fn" are working.
Maybe i need a driver?
Please can you name this driver or help me to solve this problem.
Thank you

I think you've right about the problem: the graphics driver for Vista might not support Windows 7 or work well with other drivers for Windows 7. Those driver tables seem to be incomplete for Windows 7 drivers still. Lists like this one are more reliable: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=/productpage/landingpages/productPage...
However, I didn't see a listing for a Windows 7 driver for Intel graphics for your model; only NVIDIA. You can download a generic Windows 7 graphics driver from Intel directly: http://downloadcenter.intel.com
Do you have System Update 4.0? It's available here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73695
If you uninstall the drivers and reboot, System Update should install them for you. If the right graphics driver is indeed missing, the generic driver might be your best bet for now.

  • I have a problem with my home butten, its working but when i press it, it seems like something is stuck in it. like sand or something like that, and this is the second time it happens to me with 2 devices. what can i do?

Ok so first sorry for my english, Im not American.
2 months ago i bought a new Iphone 4 device from my phone company, after a month something happened to the home butten, when i pressed it it felt like something stuck in it.. like sand or dirt.. but the home butten worked perfectly. so i went to the phone company and they told me that it is a problem and they replaced it with a new one. but after a week my iphone fell and something happened to him so i sold it to someone i know, and with that money i bought a new one from privet store (unlike the last time, when i bought my iphone in a big phone company) and in the begining it felt new, i didnt had any problems, but 2 days ago when i woke up i pressed the butten and i noticed that the problem with the home butten is back.. and i dont know what to do.. i mean like its not a big deal or something, it just that when i buy something new, i excpet it to be new, and i want to ejnoy it while its new.
so i went to some guy i know and he told me that he will see what he can do, i paid him 130 Shekels (35$) and he told my that he replaced the butten with new one, but still it makes problems. it bothers me alot, because i pay almost 300 shekels per month (75$) and i expect from this device to be new.. and its killing me.
now, i cant go to the phone company because thats not their device, and i know what the people in the privet store will tell me.. that its my fault and bla bla bla.. so what can i do? i cant spend any more money on this..
its new.. for some reason this always happenes to me.. 3 devices, problems problems and problems..

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

  • Is anyone having a problem with the home button on a 6?

when I first got my iPhone 6, the home button was just like my other iPhones have been, my iPad, my sons iPhone 6, etc. when you pushed it, you can feel it move and you feel a little dull clck. Now the the home button on my iPhone 6 has no movement or click. It still functions, but I'm worried it is on its way to failing and if I wait to address the issue until it completely fails, then it will be out of warranty. Has anyone else experienced any problems with the home button?

  • I have a wireless home phone connect device. Can call out on it when dial tone present, but most times cannot receive calls since purchase. Anyone else having a  problem with their home connect device?

Have had Wireless Home Phone connect device refreshed and updated three times since I purchased it in September 2014. Last tech I worked with on it initialized an NRB to check the network. I checked the location of the tower, which is less than one mile up the hill with clear line of site. The device always has two antennas on it. The device is great when it does work, but most of the time it rings three times and then jumps to an automated message saying the person I am calling is not available. I've actually gone up there several times to try an fix the device, but always end up calling a Verizon tech who has me unplug it, pull the battery, and they do some network stuff and then we turn it back on and it works. After the last time on 10/02/14, I called it and got the message. I drove up there, 100 miles one way, and called it while standing in the room. Got the same message. I picked up the phone, heard a dial tone and dialed my phone and it range through. I hung that phone connected to the device and call it using my cell phone. It rang through. I went home and tried to call it the next day. Again it did not ring through and I got the message after three rings. I call another phone at the facility and had them call me on my mom's phone and it is fixed it again. The fix last for a day or two and then it's broken again, like it is today. If it's a network problem then it must be fairly close to the area because no matter what we do it fails again. So much for the 99.98% reliable. This thing is a piece of junk!
I purchased this device and put it on my plan so that my mother who we placed in a home at 96 years old would have a phone connection that she could use and wouldn't flip her out. My family and her family has not been able to faithfully connect with her at this critical time in her life. I am giving Verizon 10 more days to figure this out and then I am going to ask for a total refund not to mention how much time and travel I have put into this piece of junk. Either the home connect transceiver is broken or the network is broken. Why should I pay close to $70 for a service that has not worked more than several days out of 35 days? Also I have spent close to three hours on the phone with decent technical people, but it's my time. I should send Verizon a bill for every time I have gone up there to fix this device as well.
What perplexes me is that a regular cell phone would have sufficed, but because Verizon has to have a data connection that is not available on a regular phone and it was going to cost me $30/month, I decided to go with the home connect. Seemed like a nice solution for an older person who would have a hard time using a cell phone and keeping it charged. Plus after all the fees for getting it connected, it only cost $20/month. That would be a pretty good thing, IF IT WORKED....... The other thing that irks me is, why do I have to pay for a data connection when the cell phone Verizon originally provided can't even access the network. What ever happened to adding a phone line for $10 bucks\ month? All I wanted was a simple phone. She would not be able to use anything more complex and all she needs is a phone line period.
I have no problem paying for something that works and does what it should, but this is ridiculousness. The MTF on this device is somewhere around 1 to 2 days. Out of 365 days that's about a 96.5% failure rate....... Want my advice? Get ride of this device. It sucks and it's bad marketing.

        jsavage9621,
It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • Is there a problem with the Home Theatre Cab

On the Creative store website, whenever I look at the wiring diagram for the Home Theatre Cable, it shows that there are 3 seperate cables, yet the one that I received is just one cable with a bunch of different ends.
My problem is that when connecting my X-Fi up to my Sony 5200ES receiver, I can only get 5. sound in both game mode and entertainment mode. The weird thing is that the side speakers never work when testing the speakers out (they work fine with everything else, just not from the computer). I switched the inputs so that the rear speakers were connected to the side speakers and visa versa and what happened was that the sound from the rear speakers came out of the side speakers and nothing came from the rear speakers because the side speakers are not sending out a signal.
I am stuck on what to do next. I know the cables are connected right, otherwise when I do the speaker test the other 5. speakers would not be in their proper locations, right?
I have reinstalled the drivers countless times (from the CD) and I discovered that no matter what I did, the front right speaker (along with the 2 sides) would not work in entertainment mode. I fixed that by finding newer drivers released sometime last year and those brought me up to 5. with both modes, but now I want the side speakers to work. I called Sony, just in case, and they didn't give me any help.
    Any ideas?

If there is a definite pause where the left/right side channel announcement would be heard, it suggests you have the soundcard set up right, and there is some sort of problem with those channels. That could be caused by the soundcard, the cable, the receiver, or just some poor connections. The first order of business is to figure out which, and here's what I'd suggest.
Make sure the soundcard connectors are fully inserted; if the stop on the plug isn't in contact with the jack, it is possible for the internal contacts not to be making proper contact. (Don't use excessi've force, though.)<
On the receiver end, swap the left rear and side, and right rear and side connectors; then run the speaker identification test. If you hear the side-channels announced (from the rears) the problem would be the receiver's multichannel inputs' side inputs (there might be a setting affecting their use).<
If you know how, check the cable connectivity of the side channels. This would be the "sleeve" (furthest from the pointed "tip" contact) of the black minijack and the center contact of the side-right RCA, and similarly for the orange minijack and the center contact of the side-left RCA. For the same connector pairs, the "ring" next to the "sleeve" in each minijack should have connectivity with the corresponding outside RCA contact.<
If you have a camcorder which uses a minijack A/V cable, you can try that cable instead of connecting the black or orange minijack. For black: yellow RCA (video) goes to side right, white (or black) RCA goes to left rear, and red RCA goes to right rear. For orange, yellow RCA (video) goes to side left, white (or black) RCA goes to center, and red RCA goes to subwoofer. If those substitutions give you the corresponding side channel, it suggests the problem is in the CL cable. If they don't give the side channel, the soundcard is suspect.<
For a simple hardware problem, it seems unlikely for 2 symmetrical channels to be defecti've which reside in different connectors. Your black and orange minijacks do have 3 insulator rings on them, right?

  • Syncing problem with network home folders

    Deaar Community,
I recently obtained a Mac Mini Server. I had a problem syncing my iPhone after moving all my data to network home folders.
Everytime I got the following message:
"Syncing cannot be enabled on this computer"
"Multiple computers are logged in to this same network home folder."
"Please turn off syncing on all other computers..."
There were no other computers syncing into the same directory.
This turned out to be a wrong error message.
I solved the problem by turing off the firewall on the server.
That was strange. Although the firewall rules were set to allow all traffic within the local zone iTunes had a problem with its presence.

Please be also sure that the permissions for the files are set correctly. In my case it turned out that the permissions for the iTunes Library were set in a way that the directories were owned by the server administrator's account. I had to reset the owner.
I also feel that there is a bug in the permissions administration in snow leopard server. I ended up with files that had a lot of permissions entries which were completely identical.
    i. e.
    Angela read only
    Steve read+write
    Steve read+write
    Steve read+write
    everyone none
Stll, a different error occurs randomly, but I finally managed to completely sync the iPhone. The error message now says that the iPhone could not be synced because the sync server could not sync the iphone. (?! This is somewhat redundant.)

  • Problems with the home button and generally freezing and shutting down often.

I have had this iPad 2 for around 3 months. After about a month I noticed that I was having to press the home button multiple times in order to get it to respond. It is now at a stage where I have to press it as many as 12-13 times. It's won't do this every time but all day for maybe 3 out of 5 days the other times it works fine.
As well as this I have also had issues with the Internet shutting down, Skype going crazy, picture albums popping up and then vanishing and so on. I'm not a computer wiz but I would describe it as going crazy two or three times a day.
While I was in a shopping centre about a week ago I asked about the problems in an apple store. The man was very helpful and asked if I had it on me so he could look at it. Unfortunately I didn't be he said I could bring it back whenever I like and it would take around 30 mins for someone to check it out. He said most Likley they would just give me a new one and that would be that. So of course happy that it could be sorted I went home. Today I decided to drive the nearly two hours down to Brisbane after having a nightmare time trying to Skype my friend this morrning. I hot to the store and asked if it could be looked at only to be told I need an appointment. I showed the card that I had been given and explained what I had being told. To cut a long story short he agreed that I had been told that but said the assistant clearly didn't know what he was on about and that I should come back. I offered to wait but dispute the shop being more full of staff watching movies and downloading songs then actual customers I was basically denied any sort of help and told to call the office to arrange an appointment.
Sorry to rant! I just thought that apple were renowned for good service? 5 hours later I'm home with the same issues.
If anyone has had similar problem with the device or even customer service I would be intrested.
    Regards,

Me too!  I had many bugs and returned my phone for a brand new one that did this the first time it was turned on at the Apple store.  I was told it is a "software issue" and to "reboot the phone" if it continued to happen.  It happens almost every time I try to use my phone.  I've rebooted three times in a row some days.  Nothing really seems to help.  I keep waiting for an update.

  • Slate 21 s100/Pro - Android 4.4.2 KitKat - Problem with launcher/home apps

Hi, Anyone tried to install a different launcher App (Nova for instance) after 4.4.2 upgrade? I experience problem with graphics performance after installation of such an app with ability to register as home app. The app does not even need to be started. Problems occur just after install from Play Store:- Many animations are laggy. For instance horizontal swipe in Calendar app or animation in and out from the app list is quite laggy.- The new menu entry "Home" in settings is probably there to select Home app, but the Settings app itself crashes when touching it. After lots of debugging with own apps, I have a feeling that the graphics hardware acceleration is the problem, but I can not identify the root cause of this behaviour. We have many of these tablets and those which have been upgraded to 4.4.2 behaves the same bad way. The previous 4.2.2 worked perfectly fine. 4.3 that comes with the Pro tablet is also OK, but this also gets problem with KitKat. It would be interesting to hear if others experience the same.  Trond

Same problem here in Japan. What I did to try to bypass HP and the lack of appropriate support for this machine, was to install Nova launcher and set up lollipop features. It worked like a charm. Most of the slaggyshness was resolved.I also found a workaround to root the device with Kingroot/Kinguser so that I could rename/erase/move files on sd and usb like use to be with JB when I bought it.  All worked fine until I tried to do a factory reset (had unistalled a core apk that I wanted back) via menu+vol-.  The machine now can boot into the bootloader (I get all the options there), starts the factory reset wizard just fine but then when selecting the option WIFI/Ethernet .."wait a sec..." on screen and then, after a minute or two, it aborts the setup with prompt  "Unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped".Does anyone have a fix for that? BTW, clean cache didn`t work for me.

  • Problem with user home directory redirection on OS X

It appears that the Authorware 7.01 runtime gets confused
when home directory redirection is used on Mac OS X to redirect a
    user's directory to the network.
I suspect it is a problem with the path to the Application
Support folder where Authorware stores its .rec files.
That happens is that JumpFileReturn returns to the start of
the piece, rather then returning to where the jump was performed.
As anyone else seen this? Is there any workaround?
On Windows one can setup and ini file to tell Authorware
where to store temporary files. Is there any such equivalent on
    Mac?

I'm not sure of the process on macs that match the use of the
    ini file, but
the goal was always identical operation on both platforms so
    it's very
likely that the ini file is read and interpreted in the same
    manner.
It seems that the 'initial' location of the current records
    folder is the
one that's messed up. The .rec file is created on the local
    machine rather
than the redirected one. I can only guess that either the
    home folder isn't
redirected until after the first AW piece starts or the
    initial setting is
being set to a 'default' location for the user rather than
    asking the system
what the current location is. A solution might be to create a
    "launcher"
application with Authorware designed to start up and jump to
    what is
currently your startup piece. This way the RecordsLocation
    should be changed
to the network location and you can ignore the original rec
    file since
you'll never return to that first location.

  • [Solved] Strange problem with my '/home/evert/Music' folder

    Good evening everybody,
I'm having since a few weeks some very strange problems with one directory on my hard disk: '/home/evert/Music/'.
The problem is that this directory excists, with all it's subfolders. But i can't see a single file (mostly mp3's) in that folder or subfolders.
Some more background information to make sure i'm not doing something wrong :
http://pastebin.be/4419 : the log file of a 'mpd --create-db' command. This clearly shows that mpd fills his database with the music. And even more, i'm able to play all that music.
    evert@localhost ~/Music $ du --max-depth=1 -h -c | tail -n 1
    15G total
So this folder really excists and is filled with a lot of music files normally .
    evert@localhost ~/Music/Metallica/loaded $ ls -a
Strange ? In this folder really was music acording to the mpd --create-db log file ?!
    drwxr-xr-x 161 evert users 8192 2007-08-10 17:57 Music
As user i'm having all rights to this folder, so that isn't the fault.
Even when trying to see the files, neither konq in su mode or MC works.
Anybody who knows something more about this problem or could help me a bith further pls ?  I'm running XFS as filesystem on this partition.
    Thanks in advance,
    Evert

If his home is as messy as his $HOME, then yes, totally.

  • Problems with BT Home Hub Phone 2.1 help!

I've been having problems with my Hub phone 2.1 handset for weeks now. A catalougue of woes: 1. It doesn't ring properly with incoming calls- It starts to ring but then there's a horrible highpitched feedback noise and then the handset resets itself. Impossible for people to reach me. I have to call everyone back. 2. It doesn't charge properly. It makes the "bleep" noise when placed on the cradle but stops charging after a few moments. Sometimes it makes the bleep at random times. Often the phone has been on the charging cradle all night but will cut out during a 5 minute call because the battery is flat as a pancake! Which leads to... 3. The phone will cut out at random times during a call (even if the battery is showing full). There's the horrible feedback noise and the phone resets itself again. This happens whenever I use speaker phone too. The Hub and handset are less than two years old and broadband and all the rest of it seem absolutley fine. It's just the handset. Any advice please? Thanks! )

Change the rechargeable batteries, sometimes they don`t last very long, their capacity reduces and there is not enough power to operate the handset properly.
Try to find ones with a higher capacity, as they do seem to work much better. I have four hub phones, and the original batteries lasted about a year. The replacements I fitted are fine.

  • I am having problems with my home wifi.

This is my second iphone5s. I have been having problems with the wifi. I can connect to the wifi for a couple days but all of a sudden it'll disconnect and I will try to access it again but it'll ask for a user name and password and it isn't my routers problem. I know it's not my wifis problem because my brothers wifi works perfectly well on his phone.

  • Problem with ORA -03113 End of Communication Channel

    Hello,
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
Windows Server 2003 Version V5.2 Service Pack 2
Im having this problem when executing an stored procedure that executes a SQL statement wich has uses db links... I get this end of communication channel error.. so I thought it was a network issue, but all connections are fine.
The thing is that the procedure works fine, but just out of the nothing starts to give that problem, shutting down the database would not correct the problem, only restarting the server will fix the issue temporarily. I checked the dump file related to the process am running and I found this, I think it might be like a memory problem but not sure

what do you recommend me to try here?

    Hi Ogan,
I agree ! Of course we are often obliged to compose with minimal downtime, testing resources, editors, management, time etc.
I have the same problems but keeping the base version is a pain and if you consider 10.2.0.5 you won't have to install many patchsets after this one on the 10gR2 homes/databases. It's a "good" investment if you have to keep the 10gR2 for several years (going to 11g is more difficult than installing a patchset !)
Oracle patchsets are great and well tested and if you pay your Oracle license you pay for that ! The patchsets, patchset updates, support make the difference with the versions you can download "freely" on OTN.
    Best regards
    Phil
