Problems with OSS (ALC1200, one speaker only noise)

Hi, im trying to use OSS since a half year, but never got it up running. There is always only noise/scrappy sound on the right front speaker and on the same time on the right Headphone speaker. In OSS test it says ok when testing. Devices are /dev/oss/oss_hdaudio0/pcm0 when this occures the first time, and /dev/oss/oss_hdaudio0/spdout at the second time.
Card is the ALC1200 onboard-chip of the Asus P5Q. Its is recognised by alsa & oss as ALC888, and normally working in alsa.

I tried to turn everything off at record. Oh and this sound is only there when i play sound, not when i do nothing. Any ideas?

I'd like to use OSS instead of alsa - just for curiosity and for the rumored "better quality"
I followed wiki and got OSS working, except the same problem as stated above. First I get noise from right front speaker (pcm0) and second from spdout_std (the last one osstest testes). The second last one (spdout) gives good sound though, so I could symlink /dev/dsp to /dev/oss/oss_hdaudio0/spdout, but then how to get sound out from the optical SPDIFF output?
Has anybody solved this yet, or do I have to go back ALSA?

Had the same problem, no audio on incoming or outgoing calls and only could hear the conversation of the call if I put on speaker. It seemed to start after I did a recent IOS update this past month. I tried restart, reset and restore of my iPhone but nothing changed. It appears not to be a software issue but a hardware problem. I got my phone this past summer so it was still under warranty and got it replaced.

Please try connecting a pair of stereo headphones to the audio port of your AirPort Express Base Station (AX). If you now get sound from both channels, the problem may still be either with the cables or the amplifier. If; however, you are still only getting sound from one channel, either the AX's audio port or its audio circuitry may have failed.

Anything you downloaded with the first Apple Id will forever be tied to it, and will always require it to update.
The question here is, why did you think you needed to create a new Apple ID? What was the problem with the first one?
To get rid of th old one, you'll need to delete everything you downloaded with it, and then sign out of the ID in several places around the iPad.
Go to Settings->iTunes & App Stores->Apple ID->Sign out.
Repeat the process, for Facetime, Messages, Mail and any other App you need to sign out of.

Help - problem with white iphone 4 speaker

Hi, i have a problem with my white iphone 4 speaker. I know the specs stated that the mic is supposed to be on the left and the right is the speaker but i've compared at least 2 other black iphones 4s and there is some volume from the left side (if you close the right side) whereas mine is practically non-existent. Should i be concerned? Is this specific to the white iphone 4? The local telco has not been helpful - they can only reformat the phone and said that this is a software problem. Anyone with similar experience pls share. Thanks in advance.

You already know the answer. ALL iphones, every single one of them, have but one speaker at the bottom. You have NO ISSUE at all with your speakers. None. Nothing is wrong. At all. No problem. None.

Problem with input data format - not "only" XML

I have problem with input data format.
I get some data from JMS ( MQSeries) , but input format is not clear XML.
This is some like flat file with content of XMLu2026.
Example:

2. data after last parser </Document> -> 000016750
This data destroy XML format.
Unfortunately XI is not one receiver of this files and we canu2019t change this file format in queue MQSeries ( before go to XI) .
My goal is to get XML from this file:

What is the XI adapter using?
If you use inbound File adapter content conversion you could replace these values with none and then pass it to the scenario.

Can't communicate with HP8600 from ONE computer only .. all others work

I'll try to provide as much detail here as I can . But ... my HP8600 works well with all devices in my home but one desktop. Unplugging my wireless router solves the problem ... but ... only temporarily . problem returns . Three other wireless laptops and devices communicate just fine. Desktop computer is connected to Wireless Router via ethernet cable.
OS = Windows 8.1 , 32 bit
Wireless Router = Netgear Nighthawk R7000
HP 8600 N911g, SW Version = 028.000.1315.000, Driver = 09.84.00.1173, firmware=CKP5CN1334ER,
uninstalled and reinstalled HP software with no luck.
Wirelss router shows device connected and active... and all other devices can print to it
Windows updates , Netgear updates, and HP8600 updates are ... well .. all up to date.
This is driving me crazy !!! Great printer , but ... geez ??? Any help is DEEPLY appreciated

I understand the printer is working wirelessly and wired with all of your computers except for one. Are the others computers 8.1 as well or just the one that is not working well?
From what you described, the printer will work with the computer after you unplug the router and plug it back in, but only temporarily. For diagnostic purposes, would you be able to connect an Ethernet cable from this computer to the router as you have done with the desktop? I just want to be able to eliminate the wireless within that computer.
I can't help but wonder if for some reason that particular computer is loosing connection to the network, thus loosing connection to the printer. Because the other computers continue to communicate with the printer, I feel the issue is related to the computer and not the printer.
Let me know how this works out, and post back with the answers to the few questions I have asked, I will gladly follow up with our next troubleshooting steps.

Airtunes Audio from One Speaker Only

I've been running my Airtunes device for about a month now. However, I've just noticed that the sound is only coming from one speaker. I have done all the normal things such as changed the speakers, and changed the audio cable, but the problem persists. Apart from that, the devices exhibits no other problems.
Before I send it back on warranty, anyone have any ideas on what I might be able to check. TIA.

Have the same problem mate...really annoying.... i went and bought a better quality cable but to no avail!! Bringing it to local mac service place tomorrow to get it checked out. Looks like the stereo input port is wrecked!!

Sound on one speaker only

Last night, while using iChat with another Mac user I was only getting sound from one speaker (right). Both speakers work with iTunes so it's not my hardware (I don't think it is anyway). Could this just be poor bandwidth?

Problem with HTML in a read only textarea item

I'm working on a messaging system for our site. For the body of the message, we use a standard textarea item. However, if we come to the messaging page from a certain page in our system, then we pre-load the textarea item, and make it read only. The only problem with this is that there are HTML tags in the body that we try to pre-load. This is causing problems because they aren't being interpreted as tags, but are being displayed as text. If I make the textarea editable, then everything looks fine, it's just when I set the area to be read only that it doesn't work. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!

Not always. A user is allowed to edit that area in most circumstances except for when the user arrives at the page coming from 1 page in particular. In this case, then the field is read-only. At all other times though, it is editable.
As a workaround, whenever I know I'm coming from this page, I set a variable, and if the variable is set, then I use a Display Only item and then hide the Textarea. If the variable is not set, then I hide my Display Only item and show the Textarea. Not very elegant, but it works.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

Problem with more than one item in a track

DVDSP 4.0.2 / OSX.4.2 I've built a DVD with several tracks. In each track I've placed several .m2v files, one after another. Finished build plays fine on my Mac and on one of my stand alone DVD players. But on another stand alone (Sony DVP-S360) something very odd happens. DVD begins to play just fine, but whenever it encounters a track with more than one source file, it will play until it gets to the spot in the program where the second source file is in the track and then it hangs and won't do anything. I'm just curious if anyone has any insight into this problem. Is it a DVDSP conflict thing with certain players? Or is this Sony player just not capable of playing a DVD built this way? Thanks.

has someone talking about finally getting burned DVDs to work, which suggests they previously had problems. I can't think why the track would not seem like continuous video, as if it had always been that way. Our Sony DVD player at work seems sensitive to higher data rates. What data rate did you use?
