Problems with server monitor

Hi all,
2 days ago, I cant connect to my xserve via Server Monitor ... and I dont know why. Via server admin I dont have any problem. The message is the following:
"Waiting for response" ....
I see the following web:

Is useful this command?
Is there any manner to restart the LOM Interface without power off the xserve?

I've seen that happen once or twice, when the Xserve LOM got confused and/or the daemon became confused.
In the immortal words of the IT Crowd — "Have You Tried Turning It Off And On Again?"   I've cleared that by shutting down Xserve entirely, removing grid power for 30+ seconds — it's that power removal which triggers the complete LOM reset, the physical disconnection of Xserve from the grid power — and then re-connecting and re-powering and rebooting the Xserve.  If Xserve isn't physically disconnected from grid power, the LOM retains power.
Here are the LOM setup details.  There are a couple of related threads around, as well; here's one.
You may alread be aware of this, but if you're using Server Monitor directly from the local Xserve system, you must use the local connection path and not the network path, too.

    thanks for your answer and your article. I tried with your NTSC 4:3 720x480 PAR 0.9 and, "magically", no more problem!!! I used the script pocedure in Photoshop CS4 to resize my images. Now, before starting my workflow and hoping not to overuse your patience, I would like to indicate you my equipment and my target: I use a Canon Eos 7D (generally for still images, 90% are vertical, and just some videos) and I use Premiere Pro CS4 to burn a dvd (normal, 4.7 Gb or double side, more than 8 Gb) with a 16.9 lcd tv (I'm Italian); my camera save as .jpg and .raw (but why use heavy .raw files if I've to redute to 720x480?!??).
    So, according to your "everyone wants the highest quality that they can obtain when doing theri videos..." and "your video project may vary, so you will need to plug in the dimensions for YOUR video project in that case", I've a question: which is the best for me?
    And then:
    1 - Premiere Pro CS4 havn't a batch or a script procedure for still image like PS (only for videos)!?!
    2 - Premiere does'nt allow you to import images like 4.181 Kb (a too large dimension file error appears)!
    3 - In the timeline of Premiere, after you dragged images, you can select them and right click to perform "resize to frame size": it seems to run good without problem, but what appen to the photo? Which is it's pixel?
    4 - In the general preferences of Premiere you can to optimize rendering for "memory" or not: which is the best for you?
    5 - I attached file with a screen of something strange in Premiere: dragging an image (the first of the project) in the timeline, the timeline appears distort (you can see the part in the yellow square): then, when I render the project and play in the monitor program, it becames normal.

    Mine's a late '09, but there have been display issues with iMacs.
    Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine.

    Thanks for the suggestion Rhonda. You're correct in saying this is impractical though. The fact is, I can't open a tab to keep it open. After doing some online research, I was able to locate a site where I could download a previous Firefox version (6.0). Problem solved! Google: "''How can I find a previous version of Firefox''. As I stated in my original question, Mozilla should not update w/o making certain it doesn't create these issues. I spent hours on this. I also turned off auto updates. I appreciate your suggestion.     I have Lost It All!
    I cannot find all of my iTunes info.
    I tried signing into iCloud due to a message "problem with server".

    I have used the solution below to fix mine and others that have run into this issue.
    Start --> Programs --> Accessories (Right Click on Command Prompt) --> Run as Administrator
    then type in:  "Netsh winsock reset"  (-without the quotes-)
    Hit enter, restart PC, iCloud For PC should now connect without any server errors
    (This solutions will work in some instances when trying to fix errors associated when you are unable to connect to iTunes also.)

  • Potential problem with my monitor, please help.

    I recently upgraded my OSX to Mavericks and I've been having problems with my monitor, I've attached a screenshot of what is happening because I didn't know how to explain it and I'm unsure if its the OSX upgrade causing the issue or not, however I'm really worried about my monitor on my macbook pro.
    The model I have is the 15" mid 2010 2.4Ghz Intel core i5 with 4GB RAM.

    Still having this issue with my macbook pro monitor... There was no updates available and I followed every other possible solution, sometimes my monotor looks perfect like there was never any problem and other times my entire screen is just covered with this stuff you've seen in the above image.
    I really have no idea what the exact issue is and how to solve it.
    This macbook was given to me for university by the government as I have a form of dyslexia and because I've just finished my degree the insurance has ended... is there anyway I can still buy applecare insurance for my machine?! I got this MBP in 2010 so I've had it for three years now.
    I'm just worried that one day I'll turn on my machine and the monitor won't work whatsoever.. and I thought apple was suppossed to be good and last a long time.

  • Annoying problem with LCD monitor and noise!!

    I have MSI 6330 with 1.2 GHz Athlon (it has a built-in sound card), 384 RAM memory.
    I just bought a new Cornea 17" LCD monitor with built in speakers.
    When I connect the speakers to the sound card, there is an annoying static-like noise coming from the speakers, like an electric transformation sometimes causes. However, this sound is not "broadcasted" to the speakers, because even if I mute the speakers, the noise is still there, as long as there is a picture on the screen. When the monitor is turned off or shows black screen (such as during start up, or when in power-save mode) the noise disappear. The only way to eliminate this noise is buy reducing (almost to zero) the speakers volume, but then you can cannot hear anything at all, not even sound.
    I got a new sound card (I thought it was the sound card problem) - same thing. I connected the monitor to a different computer and the problem is gone, which means - it is something with the computer, mobo, different device....something, I don't know what.
    Any one have an idea what this could be?

    It could be that you have some problem with the monitor.
    I have - so far - not encountered a monitor with built in speakers which gave acceptable sound anyway, the easiest solution might be that you will not use the speakers in the monitor (even the cheapest stand alone speakers will most likely produce better sound quality).

  • Problems with CF11 Monitor

    My department has recently installed CF11 on a new redhat server.  I can't get the monitor to work correctly.  I've enabled Monitoring and Profiling and the Monitoring Server.  I can get the monitor to launch and am able to login.  However, it doesn't show any requests at all.  In addition, any changes I make within the monitor (such as monitoring alerts or # past jobs to list that are longer than # seconds) don't save.  Any thoughts?  I've been able to set the alert configurations through the API, but they dont' seem to work.

    @Bigdadi, good to hear that you tried to refresh your browser. That's usually the first "trick" to try when the 2 start buttons don't appear.
    Another thing is to make sure that the CF Admin page for "flex integration" shows "flash remoting support" is enabled. That's required for the server monitor.
    Finally, you mention using wireshark to confirm that there are "no problems communicating to the server", but rather than use that, I would propose you use a browser tool like those now built into all the browsers (or firebug, fiddler, charles, and the like). Those will let you see both the nature of communication between the browser and server (whether requests out of the browser are happening, and their responses, but more important you'll see the status code of the responses and can even see the actual response). You may see that there is some part of the communication that is NOT happening as it's supposed to.the CF Server  instance,
    For instance, it's not at all unusual for things to go wrong because something on the server has been configured to be blocked (for security reasons, like the CFIDE directory or one of its subfolders) that the monitor is trying to talk to, but can't. One of these tools should help you see that, perhaps in a way WireShark does not.     And since the CF Server Monitor does in fact use Flash Remoting, you may find you need to go specifically to a tool like Charles (commercial, with free trial) which is among the few that has specific Flash Remoting support so that you can see the AMF messages being sent back and forth. But try one of the simpler ones first. I think you may find your answer. And if you don't, you can either share here what you find or if this becomes more urgent you can hire people (like myself) to help. I point to a list of such consultants at cf411.com/cfconsult.

    I wanted to export this project to a release build for my android phone... so the first warning of Flash Builder ist that the project ist currently configured to access data services from a local url.     When i click the button i get the server setting.

    whe i change it now i get an eror:"The selected web root folder does not exist (i attached i screenshot of it).
    i entered de domain of my server (i also tried the ip) at Root URL. And i think there ist a problem with the Web root...? i get scary

    i know WHY Flashbuilder tells me that i have to change the setting when i deploy on the device
    my problem ist that i got this error...
    and the domain wich i have in the screenshot should only explain how i tried it...
    i entered my server url (the real domain) and i entered the folder "app" wich i have created via ftp on my server...

  • Problems with External Monitor In XP

    Ok, I've got a huge problem with XP on Bootcamp.
    I've recently got a Samsung TV which I can use as an external monitor. This works absolutely fine when I'm using OSX, recognizes the TV and can use it as a second screen.
    When I try to use the same monitor in Windows under Bootcamp, it works as an extension of my desktop, but not able to mirror my desktop. I want to do this so I can play my games on a large screen instead of a small one.
    I've trawled the forums on this kind of problem and found a few answers. However, many of them talk about the ATI graphics drivers. I've downloaded the appropriate drivers and the control center from the website, but to no avail.
    People have also said about going into display properties: settings: advanced and selecting the ATI tab. I have no ATI tab.
    Also with the Catalyst Control Center, when I try to run it, it tells me that I dont have permission to change the settings and to contact my administrator, even though I am the administrator.
    Does anyone have any ideas how I can solve this?
    By the way. I'm connecting the external monitor via the DVI on my Macbook Pro to the HDMI connection on the TV.

    My logic tells me, if you are using a new MBP the way it's designed is that even if you are plugged in at times it will go in battery mode for a few minutes in order to prevent battery damage, than it will recharge. This happens in the background without notice. However, within this couple of minutes you might notice your display screen to sleep because it is setup to sleep in 1 minute or less in the preference under battery mode. So within that window you might have your screen go blank since the entire process takes a lot more than a minute. I hope this helps.

    Since my update to Mavericks I´m having problems with X11. I have the version 2.7.5 of XQuartz installed currently.
    After some troubles, Inkscape opens up just fine.
    But I cannot drag Inkscape over to my external monitor, which is based to the right of my notebook.
    Inkscape simply disappears.
    I´m quite the DAU ;-) with Computers and Software, so it would be nice, if you can help me.

  • Problem with nx9420 Monitor

    I have a Compaq nx9420 laptop and on the screen appeared 3 colums of pixels which are "stuck" in the same color. I don`t think they are dead pixels because sometimes they work . What should i do ?

    I have the same problem with my external Acer monitor, starting today. Suddenly, when connected to my MacBook, the Acer monitor says "Input Not Supported". If the Acer monitor is not connected, it says, correctly, "signal not detected".
    When the external monitor is connected, my MacBook can see it, has a display preference for it, lets me change resolution, etc, but the Acer monitor simply says "Input Not Supported". This just started today, and I did the system upgrade yesterday. Is there a connection?
    I've tried the usual fiddling with connections, rebooting, everything.
