Process Flow Check

Hi All,
Suppose I have a process flow where I have placed two mappings one after the other. Suppose my first mapping fails to load 5 out 50 records owing to some database constraint violation. Can I check this condition and stop the execution of the next mapping if the previous mapping fails to load some data due to database constraint violation?
If yes, then please let me know how it can be done??
regards
-Arnab

Hi Arnab,
You can use conditional connectors, with a success connector to your second mapping, a warning connector to a warning end, and an error connector to an error end.
If you want different action based on the type of error, this must be custom coded.
Using conditional connectors for complex requirements is messy, ie. the required number of operators will increase substantially (fortunately, linearly). A common complex scenario is where you have several execution brances, and failure in one branch should result in no further execution in that branch, but completion of all other branches, and finally reaching success end if no errors, error/warning end accordingly.

  • To check whether a process flow is valid or not

    Hi,
I want to check whether a OWB process flow is valid or not inside a PL/SQL block. Can anyone let me know about any repository table or view where I can check the process flow status.
    Regards,
    Poulose

Use display schedule job option from the context menu of the start variant of the process chain.
When u chick this.. u will get the available job on this start process.. There u can see whether the process chain in schedule mode or not?
If u can see multiple schedule then u can delete the older ones which are not needed and then u can maintain only one schedule job.
If u click twice.. then there are chances that u might end up with the 2 schedule job with the same time frame.. .. so check the same with the steps mentioned..... if u find two jobs then u need to delete one.. if not there might be chance that ur PC might get trigger twice.. and one trigger will gets failed. and the other one will gets executed..
    Thanks
I hope this is clear to u..

  • CRM - Process Flow of Authorization Check in Business Transactions

    Hello Folks:
I have implemented CRM security using Process Flow of Authorization Check in Business Transactions.
    What I have in place:
CRM_ORD_OP (inactive, don't want access to own documents)
CRM_ORD_LP (inactive, not using standard org level values Distribution Channel, Sales Group, Sales Office, Sales Organization, and Service Organization.)
    CRM_ACT (active)
    CRM_CMP (active)
CRM_ORD_OE (active, restricted to display with dummy value ' ' for Distribution Channel
Sales Group, Sales Office, Sales Organization and Service Organization, as we are not restricting on them)
CRM_ORD_PR (active and restricted to display)
    Issue:
Restrictions to display for documents works fine when using CRM backend system and the system throws out a message that you are not authorized to change. But, when i come in through Portals (PCUI), i dont get the display at all and it throws out a message insufficient access authorizations.
Traces on backend CRM reveal failing on change access for CRM_ORD_LP and CRM_ORD_PR, which we dont want to give out b/c we dont want to provide change for documents.
OSS notes to SAP have resulted in no results....please advise what is wrong here.
    Thanks
    KT

Thanks for the Priyanka for the reply, but what you mention is not correct.
BSP errors are different from what I am refering to.
The issue is still open...and looks like a SAP bug, which even they havent been able to fix so far.

  • How to check SQL activity in OWB Process flow

    Hi,
In OWB process flow,I need to check SQL activity. How to check that? I am using OWB 11g R2.
    Regards,
    Rashmik

    Gowtham,
Well the following hint is provided by oracle warehouse builder help.........
The time-out setting for the workflow engine determines how long the File Exist activity waits for a file. If the file does not arrive before the time-out setting expires, the File Exists activity terminates with errors.
well someone with deep workflow knowledge can answer this one...
If you get the answer please share with us.....

  • Process Flow: variable checking/email parameters

I'm new to using process flows and it seems to me that I want to something very simple.
I've created a boolean variable VAR1 (default is FALSE) which I want to assign depending on warning/failure of 2 mappings (not sure if using a variable is the correct way to go).
So in my process flow, I call MAPPING1. On success, it calls MAPPING2.
To bring more into it, if MAPPING1 produces a warning or error, then through an 'assign' activity (I think it should be an assign activity), VAR1 is set to TRUE.
It returns back to process MAPPING2 (this same error handling occurs for MAPPING2).
At the end, a CHECK on VAR1 needs to be performed.
    If VAR1=FALSE then end (success!).
If VAR1=TRUE then call a function to grab the audit records for the error, and send an email, then end.
    My problems are
(1)what activity in the pallete should I use for CHECK (which checks whether VAR1 is true/false)?
(2)how do I read the VAR1 variable... I've been experimenting a whole load but nothing!
(3)if VAR1 is TRUE and calls the function, how does the email activity receive the output from the function? (I've managed to get email working ..hurrrahh!)
Thanks for any help... much appreciated
    Ansel

    Hi,
Have you tried using conditions on your transitions?
You can have in total three different endings to your process flow, end_success(in the process flow by default), end_warning and end_error. If you also include to 'or' operators in your processflow you can use these to collect the warning transitions, and between the or operator and the end operator you can put your email activities without having to use a if statement.

  • How to check mappings execution time in Process flow

    Hi All,
We created one process flow and scheduled it. It is successfully completed after 30 Minutes.
Process flows contains 3 mappings, First mapping complete sucessfully, Second mapping will start, after completing successfully second mapping. Third mapping will start and complete sucessfully. Success emails will generate.
I would like to know which mapping is taking long time execution.
Could you please suggest how can we find which mapping is taking long time execution.
I dont like to run each mapping indiviual and see the execution time.
    Regards,
    Ava.

Execute the below query in OWB owner or User schema
In place of '11111' give the execution id from control center.
    select Map_run.NUMBER_RECORDS_INSERTED,
    map_run.NUMBER_RECORDS_MERGED ,
    map_run.NUMBER_RECORDS_UPDATED ,exe.execution_audit_id, Exe.ELAPSE_TIME,exe.EXECUTION_NAME,exe.EXECUTION_AUDIT_STATUS,map_run.MAP_NAME

  • Data Type for Process Flow... PB with Date?

I've got a problem by passing parameters in process flow.
I have a mapping with a parameter DATE_EXEC (data type : DATE) and a default value that is TO_DATE('20/01/2007' , 'dd/mm/yyyy') . My mapping is working good when i launch it.
I have a process flow which contains the mapping. This process has a parameter DATE_EXEC (data type : DATE). I bind the 2 DATE_EXEC. But when i launch my mapping the value is not recognized, I try with :
    - TO_DATE('20/01/2007' , 'dd/mm/yyyy')
    - 20/01/2007
    - 2007.01.20
    - 2007-01-20
My question is what are the data type in process flow? They are not ORACLE TYPE.
For example , a parameter in a mapping which is a VARCHAR2 must be input between quotes but if you bind it to a parameter of a process flow which is a STRING (not ORACLE Data type) , you must input it without quotes?
Anybody has some rules about that?
I apologize for my english, i'm a french people.

Here is some information on the literal quote or not quote query and what I think you need to do at the end, hope it helps. Not exactly intuitive...since the flow designer (you) have to know what is a PLSQL object and what is not.
    1. Literal = FALSE
When Literal = FALSE is set then the value entered must be a valid PL/SQL expression which is evaluated at the Control Center e.g.
    'Hello World!'
    22 / 7
    2. Literal = TRUE
When Literal = TRUE then the value is dependent on the the type of Activity. If the activity is a PL/SQL object i.e. Mapping or Transformation, then the value is PL/SQL snippet. The critical difference here is that the value is macro substituted into the call for the object. The format of the value is identical to that entered as default value in the Mapping editor. e.g.
    'Hello World!'
    sysdate()
If the activity type is not a PL/SQL object then the value is language independent. e.g.
    Hello World
    3.1427571
    What you should try......
Check the map activity parameter in your process flow to see if literal is false (an expression), set it to false and then try using your TO_DATE('20/01/2007' , 'dd/mm/yyyy') expression, deploy your flow and execute. Alternatively the user guide defines the DATE type for flow with the format YYYY-MM-DD so you can have the parameter value as '2007-01-20' use literal equal to true and remember and quote your value.
    Cheers

  • VPRS issue in STO - IC Billing process flow

    Hi Experts,
I am working on following process flow (Stock transport PO - Delivery - Intercompany billing).
Same condition type ZIXX is maintained in MM & SD Pricing procedure. In PO (STO), ZIXX is determined based on material valuation data and the same amount gets copied to IC billing.
Along with ZIXX, we have VPRS condition type in billing pricing procedure. But issue is that: VPRS does not get determine. System analysis shows message 217 (error in quantity/ value determination for VPRS).
Meanwhile, condition amount for ZIXX (determined in PO) and VPRS (determined in IC billing) may differ in some of the business scenarios. So both condition types are needed.
    Following settings have been maintained:
    ·         Copy control settings between delivery & IC billing document
o   Price source A (Purchase order)
o   Pricing type C (Copy manual pricing elements and redetermine others)
    ·         Item category (Intercompany) has marked for ‘Determine cost’ with billing relevance as A (delivery related billing)
    ·         Condition type VPRS
o   marked as G (Internal Price)
    o   marked for ‘quantity conversion
o   marked as ‘statistical’ in billing pricing PP
o   subtotal B and requirement routine 4 (Cost)
    ·         Condition type ZIXX
o   Marked as G (Internal price) in MM Pricing procedure
o   Marked as H (Basic Price) in SD PP with requirement routine as 2 (item with pricing)
    ·         Material type is updated for ‘quantity and value update’ in SAP T.Code: OMS2
Kindly let me know, how we can resolve VPRS issue.

    Hi Sachin,
For the similar issue you face, there has been a discussion in the forum.. Pls check
VPRS retrives the cost of the Material from the material master data > Accounting 1 tab to the Sales order.
Once the cost is found, then Profit margin  (Net value - cost) is calculated.
VPRS does not contain any Access sequence.
With the help of its Condition category "G", it accesses the Material master > Accounting tab 1 and takes cost.
There may be two cost specified in the Material master. They are
    - Moving Avarage Price
    - Standard Price
Which one system will consider that depends upon the "Price control" field.
If the value is "V' in the Price control field, the system takes the "Moving Avarage Price" and if it is "S", then system takes the "Standard Price".
So, you must ensure these few control
    - VPRS should  NOT have any Access sequence.
    - Condition category "G" must have been assigned to VPRS.
    - VPRS must have been activated as "Statistical" condition in the Pricing Procedure and should not have any Account key.

  • OWB-OWF - Process Flow Deployment - Database Link

    Hello there,
This post is basically related to my problem with Process Flow deployment.
Could someone please shed some light on the following:
When we create a Process Flow, during this process OWF creates a Database Link. For some reason, this link is not functional unless I remove the part after "." in that defines the "HOST" in the DB Link definition. How do I know it is not functional - I know because following query does not work:
    select * from [email protected]@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    Here is the link definition:
    ORIGINAL:
    create database link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    connect to RR
    identified by "<pwd>"
    using '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=CENTENNI-2077E4.CENTENNIALCOLLEGE.CA)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=OWB92TRG)))'
MODIFIED (it works - above query runs OK):
    create database link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    connect to RR
    identified by "<pwd>"
    using '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=CENTENNI-2077E4)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=OWB92TRG)))'
My second question is "using what userid/pwd should this link should have been created? Should it use "Runtime Repository Owner" or "OWB Repository Owner" or "Runtime Access User" or "OWF_MGR"?
No matter what userid I use, it works when I run the query but I always get following error when I try to deploy the "Process Flows" in OWB:
RPE-02085: Failed to test wb_rti_workflow_util.initialize through deployed Workflow Database Link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG2. Please check that "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE" privilege is set and that the OWB Runtime is available.
    - ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object [email protected]@WB_LK_WF_PKG2
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
I have already granted the "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE" to OWF_MGR. I am not sure, though, what is meant by the "and that the OWB Runtime is available" part of the error message above.
I have also tried to fix this by running the "catrpc.sql" script but it did not help either.
I am stuck on this step for past few days. I would highly appreciate help in fixing this problem. Here is the configuration I am using:
o Source database : Oracle 9i (9.2) on my local PC
o Target database : Oracle 9i (9.2) on my local PC
    o OWB 9i
    o OWF 2.6.2
o OWB and OWF repositories are on the TARGET database
I am able to successfully deploy and run my MAPPINGs.
    TIA,
    Amer

    Hello Oracle support,
Should I open a TAR to get this problem resolved?
    Regards,
    Amer

  • Process flows are not running in OWB

I have a process flow which has a main process and this main process calls 3 subprocesses and 1 externel process. This workflow was running fine and it suddenly stopped working and when I try to run it from WF monitor it is giving the following error.
    Activity CALWINDW_INC_LOAD_PF_WE
    Result Exception
    Error Name -20001
Error Message ORA-20001: Task CALWINDW_INC_DELETE_PF does not exist. Please check that the ProcessFlow has been deployed successfully. ORA-01403: no data found
    Error Stack Wf_Engine_Util.Function_Call(WB_RT_WORKFLOW_UTIL.EXECUTE_TASK, CLWNPKG, 200509200915, 37461, RUN).
I tried running it from OWB deployment manager but it didn't work.
I have checked all the process flows and the mappings all are deployed and all the mappings are running sepreatly. I tried dropping and deploying the process flow again and it deployed successfully without any error. We have tried rebooting the server, creating new PF location and new process flows, but nothing worked out. Becuase of this issue we can't run the whole process. Any help will be appriciated please.

May be your chain was in the wait at the scheduled time, as there were no adequate processes available at the app server to take up your job.
Check with your Basis ( and also your users ); about the optimal time to schedule the job and reschedule your jobs.

  • Process Flow hangs

I'm executing a process flow with several activities.
After each activity I check for status and error out if the activity fails. If the activity succeeds I go on to the next activity.
When I execute a map within the process flow, the process flow executes successfully only if the map is the last activity. The map functions to output data to a file.
The Process Flow hangs if after the execution of the map
a stored procedure is called. The stored procedure dynamically creates a DBLINK and updates a table.
When I cancel the execution of the process flow I see the map has successfully outputted all
records. But why hasn't it gotten to the stored procedure.
Each activity on its own works fine but in combination with each other they hang the process flow.

    Mahesh,
I am assuming that RAB stands for Runtime Audit Browser.
The Runtime Audit Browser tells me how many records were
rejected but not which ones and why.
The debugger does not give adequate information in fact it does not issue a "break" where it should.
Are there any tools OWB provides for "catching", or
auditting data that cannot for whatever reason be extracted to a file.
I see that they have a mechanism for capturing problems with data coming from a file into a table. I don't see
where there is an explanation of error handling going from a table into a file.
    Thanks!
    Marion

  • Process Flow - Executing a shell Script

I have a simple shell script being called at the start of a process flow, up until a few days ago this worked fine across DEV, TEST and PROD.
It's now stopped working in PROD.
It executes through the command line fine as an os user and when you inspect:
    select * from all_rt_audit_executions where execution_name like '%SCRIPT_ONLY%' order by updated_on desc;
The return_result is OK, but the script has not executed (it creates a simple file and I have added another one at the end of the script 'id >> whoami.txt')
I've no idea what the sysadmin has been up to so can't comment on configuration changes on the box.
    Any ideas?

First off, if the admin has upgraded or re-installed the repository, it might have reset back to the default security properties
The properties file is found in $OWB_HOME/owb/bin/admin/Runtime.properties and change the following parameters to NATIVE_JAVA :
    property.RuntimePlatform.0.NativeExecution.FTP.security_constraint = NATIVE_JAVA
    property.RuntimePlatform.0.NativeExecution.Shell.security_constraint = NATIVE_JAVA
    property.RuntimePlatform.0.NativeExecution.SQLPlus.security_constraint = NATIVE_JAVA
Make sure that there are no trailing spaces on the line after NATIVE_JAVA.
Also, if they have upgraded software could they have changed the detault UNIX profie so that you are no longer finding executables? Or changed around the file structure so that your script is in a different absolute location so that OWB doesn't find it anymore? Or changed up directory permissions so that the Oracle user can't see the script anymore?
Just a few thoughts on things to check for....
I'd ask your sysadmin to check the OWB security profile, and then to try running the script from the Oracle Unix account and let you know the results (assuming that you do not have access to the Oracle user).
