We are a biomedical startup company based in Singapore, and we are looking for a product development engineer to join our team. Here's the details:
Job Description
Perform debugging and troubleshooting of LabVIEW applications
Expanding functionalities of existing LabVIEW applications
Creation of hardware and software DLLs (dynamic linked libraries) for integrating into existing applications.
Porting of applications from LabVIEW to .NET
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
Experience with developing instrument control, data acquisition and user interface applications in either/both LabVIEW and C++/C#/Visual Basic .NET. 
Proficient in basic electronics and electrical engineering concepts.
Excellent analysis and debugging skills.
Others
Singapore citizens / PRs preferred.
Some travelling will be required.

  • Rough BOM at the time of product development

    dear expert:
    excuse my nascent approach. i dont know how to address this but my client is asking to fullfill the below requirement
    we are Apparel manufacturing company. as per our scenerio we pass a long development period approx 6 months before receiving confirm sales order. we need to create preliminary or rough BOM at this stage to manage the sudden load of information. as during the development time we just got little information about the product and it is subject to change is it possible to create a rough BOM and update it continuously as and when required with proper material code and finally when we are sure we need to confirm it as final BOM.

    We are dealing this kind scinario in small project business where total product developement takes mini 4-5 motnhs and based on design BOM is not confirmed 100% .
    So we do estomation through Quotation stage -VA21 where we follow Unit costing methodology with variable and item details based on the customer requirement.Some time we also create Engineering BOM based on the design lay out and after final approval and contractual aggrement , we logg sales order for cost roll up based on the approve BOM and routing .There may be  lot consumables as well low cost material required  , which we add directly at Production order but the most crtifcal items are in Qoutation or estimation stage  /Engineering BOM.
    But if you want to create BOM at the intial stage and subsequently , want to trace the changes doen then you should adop ECM ( Engineeting Change Management ) .For engineering change management to be activated you need to define in
    modification parameters that ECM is to be active.

    We are working on New Product Development project. Our client involves in development of a proto-type as per their client's requirement. Receipt of Sales order, Design, Production of Prototype Sample & customer approval are the stages invloved.
    But no revenue will be generated until the delivery & approval of Sample.
    How can we settle these kind of projects? Please advise.

    @Hemant...There is no billing element used in this project. I guess i cannot consider this as an Investment project fully as it does not have an Asset. Please correct me and advise.

  • Flex/Flashbuilder build AIR, is Adobe suffering from product development myopia?

    Hi,
    Im really new to using Flex/Flashbuilder to build SWFs. Im actually using Flex3 (3.2) instead of FlashBuilder, but both seem to have to same approach when it comes to creating AIR)
    Im trying to get a hold of Adobe's idea of creating AIR apps with Flex/FlashBuilder. From what I make out the way to go is create a Flex project and set it to publish for the desktop. Actionscript projects dont have this option (though I know how to fake it by changing .mxml to .as)
    But as Im new to Flex, Im trying to get a hold on the concept of Flex/FlashBuilder. I just cant imagine that developer tools like these encourages developers to use MXML instead of actionscript when you want to develop an AIR app. Especially because the compilers seems to parse MXML code into actionscript class instances. From what I make out sofar this is a ridiculous sidestep and forces developers to learn MXML while the actual language is Actionscript 3.0. Also all the necessary libraries could just as easily be compiled into an Actionscript project, right?
    The weird thing is that FlashBuilder seems to have to exact same setup as Flex 3. So, I guess Adobe didnt think that workflow was a Flex 3 flaw. So either Im missing something completely obvious or Adobe suffering from product development myopia.
    What's the idea here? Can someone explain, please?

    We just had the same issue whe trying to upgrade our AIR app from requiring 3.3 to 3.4 by changing the application descriptor. We see the same message "Cannot complete installation because runtime updates are disabled on this machine" in our logs, but nothing was really ever done to disable updates on that particular machine. Checking on different computers now, but if this is a widespread problem then it would disastrous as our user would be unable to use the app. Any idea what is causing this?

    Hi,
    SAP PS has good Integration with PP and FI CO modules. So goes well along the ETO scenario.
    The normal process is that Project is created and goes in to design phase , where we design product as per customer's requirement . Design BOM helps in this.Once you design is ready you can generate Production Orders base on MRP generated with reference to Projects.
    All the cost including overheads are charged to the Project as actual cost.
    These costs are later settled to Cost Center.

  • Production - Development Import/Export strategy

    I'm trying to come up with a good strategy for being able to handle development of an HTMLDB application being carried out on a different system to the production machine.
    So far my steps consist of -
    1) Dev -> Perform export of HTMLDB application
    2) Dev -> Perform Oracle "exp" of schema that the application uses.
    3) Prod -> Delete HTMLDB application
    4) Prod -> Run script to delete all schema objects for that application.
    5) Prod -> Perform Oracle "imp" of file created in step 2
    6) Prod -> Perform import of HTMLDB application created in step 1
    Does this sound reasonable to people? Is there any other way to do this? Has anyone already written any scripts to do this (that's next on my to-do list).

    I would advice you to avoid using Oracle exp/imp tools in development cycle. Otherwise, you'll end up with a mess on production system when nobody is able to answer what versions of tables/views/packages work and what changes have been made to the particular object recently and why something doesn't work anymore.
    Developers have to write sql*plus scripts, form patches and use a version control tool like CVS. I understand this is a bit contrary with htmldb ideology of using browser as single tool. But this way you always know what have been changed, how changed, who changed and when changed.

    Hi I am trying to create an EAR for deploymnet on a managaed server in production
    mode. The managed server exists on another machaine. I have a few questions regarding
    this.
    Is the EAR file produced by the workshop 8.1 menu item only for use for a server
    running in development mode?
    Can I produce an EAR for a server in production mode by auto generating a build.xml
    file with the supplied command line tool ( can't remember it;'s name) within my
    application directory created by the workshop 8.1 IDE , and then use the wlpackage
    tool on the build.xml to produce a production mode EAR?
    Please can someone elp me on this one cheers :)
