Product Number Format

Hello All!
I have non-lexicographical product format in SRM and lexicographical material format in R/3. And it seems it's the reason of problems with material replication.
How to change product number format in SRM if I already have product records?
Thanks in advance,
Alexander

• Output Format of Product Number

Hi,
This is pertaining to issue with Product Number, I am CIFing numeric product.
I am trying to CIF 8 digit Product code from ECC to APO and its getting CIFed as 18 digit code in /SAPAPO/MATMAP table in Extnr Material Number field, while displaying MAT1 its showing as only 8 digit.
I then changed the settings to Field length 18 and activated the lexicographical check in spro in produt master data and also the same setting in OMSL transaction code.
But when I activate the CIF queue with this setting it gives me an error that Product field length is less.
I then changed the spro setting and configured the lenghth as 40 and in OMSL its 18, now the product is getting CIFed with leading zeroes and is also displayed with leading zeroes.
My requirement is that the produt should get CIFed as 8 digit and should also be diaplayed in the table as 8 digit.
Can someone please tell me what should be the setting in spro and OMSL transaction so that their are no leading zeroes displayed and also in SAP table its not stored with leading zeroes.
When I create the product directly in APO their are no leading zeroes in table and display.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Sanjog,
The following are the settings where the output format of a
product number will be maintained
In R/3, the lexicographic setting will be done in spro>logistics-general>
material master>basic settings>define output format of material numbers.
In APO, it is done at spro>APO>Master data>Product>specify output format
of product numbers.
Hope this will resolve your issue.
Please confirm

• Populating the "number format" and "calculate" field properties?

I've been making a lot of Acrobat forms with an extremely large number of form fields (as in, over a hundred or more per form).
Each field has to have these properties:
-Set to Number format, with 4 decimal places specified
-Set the Calculate property with a simplified field notation (field1*field2), to perform multiplication, or, it's set wtih the "value is the (product) of the following fields" function.
Is there a way of copying these attributes to already pre-existing fields? It appears that for already existing fields, if you want them all to have these same attributes, you have to set them one by one-- very tedious. If you multi-select all fields at once, it doesn't let you set them all to the same calculation setting, and it doesn't even let you set them all to number format.
So, up till now I've simply made one (or a few) fields, set them to these properties, and then populated them by duplicating the fields, but-- I still then have then to go in and re-name every single field, so that each is a unique field-- also very tedious.
Is there some way that I don't know about, that would allow me to set these properties to multiple pre-existing fields at the same time?

Unfortunately, no.
However, you can set the the field's calculation formula using a simple script.
Let's say your fields are called field1, field2, field3, etc. You can then run this code from the console:
maxFields = 100; // let's say you have 100 fields
for (i=1; i<=maxFields; i++) {
f = this.getField("field"+i);
if (f) f.setAction("Calculate", "event.value = this.getField('x').value * this.getField('y').value;");
Of course, you can adjust the formula to your own needs.
Make sure you use single quotes inside of the script when you want to specify a literal string.

• How to make sure what material number format is the same in SRM and R/3?

Hi all!
I faced the following problem:
"Product does not exist in plant or it has been flagged for deletion". This error message occurs during shopping cart creation or during transferring purchase requisition from R/3 to SRM. It seems like SRM carries out some material checking in R/3 before shopping cart save and can't find out appropriate R/3 material. The only reason I can assume is different material number formats in SRM and R/3. Material number length is the same in both systems.
Thanks in advance,
Alexander.

Alex-
We experienced this problem just recently. Our situation involved trying to add a material to the cart from an internal catalog (CCM). As mentioned earlier their is a configuration setting to indicate the number of characters the "Product" (SRM terminolgoy) or "Material" (R/3 terminology) should be. We made our setting 18 characters (same length as field in R/3). The important thing to understand is that the material number is actually defined as a character field, not a numerical field so the length of the material "number" is critical for the system to accurately check the material. Do the following and see if you correct the error.
1) Go into transaction COMMPR01 in SRM, select the search tab and choose Material in the Find box, then click start. Choose the material you are experiencing the problem on and verify that the number of characters is the same in SRM as it is in R/3.
2) Next, go into R/3 and look at table entries in MARC for the material. This will show you all the different plants associated with the material.
3) Finally, create a cart and procure the material. If you get the error message go to the basic data of the cart and verify the location (plant) is one of the plants you found in step 2. If not, change the location to one from step 2 and check the cart.

• Changing Contacts telephone number format

Hi all. I bought an iphone 6 in USA and I am from Argentina. In the apple store (USA) the product was activated.
Do you know how can I change the Contacts' phone numbers' format so as to avoid the use of brackets () ?
I already selected the propper language for me (spanish) and the Region (Argentina) but the formats remain unchanged.
I still haven't placed a SIM into the iphone because I have to ask the carrier for a Nano-SIM which I do not have at the moment. May this be the problem? When I insert the new SIM I will have the right formats?
Thanxs!
Juan

I've found another PC with XP and Outlook 2007, but I still can't find any service called "Windows Dialing". But I tried it anyway. Guess what I got: in this computer, a normal local telephone format isn't changed. But when the number is in long distance format, ie +XX YYYYYYY, Outlook 2007 stupidly removes the '+' sign in front of it!
I then tried in my first PC to see what would happen to international telephone number format.... it's OK, the '+' sign isn't deleted.
What a f**k! What's this ____ called Outlook 2007 which tries to reformat things it can't understand??
I have exactly the same problem - I am in the UK and have a pile of UK numbers stored in international format (which most cell phones recognise and some generate automatically from incoming calls). So the number would be entered as +44 1234 56789. Outlook strips off the + and, because I sync with my pda, the numbers get exported to it in a broken state :-(
In the UK, we don't drop leading digits - to dial a number I either dial 01234 56789 or +44 1234 56789. We don't really use local numbers a lot in the UK - it doesn't make any difference within a local area if I dial the full code, just the local number or the international version. So there is no need for Outlook to do anything.
This is extremely aggravating - sure ly Outlook is not hard coded to use US phone dialling methods?
There must be a way to disable the automatic parsing of numbers - if not it is bug that needs fixing, IMHO...

• HELP: Strange Number Formatting Issue

G'day All,
I have a stored procedure which is available via the web which generarates a customer report. I've just noticed that my number fields that have decimal values are being rounded to the nearest whole number.
The SQL that grabs the data to be used in generating this specific table uses TO_CHAR(decimal_field, '9990.00') etc a number of times. example values are:
0.27 becomes 0.00
45.44 becomes 45.00
I've double checked the underlying data and the values definitely have decimal values as the examples I listed above are from. When I run similar queries via the SQL COMMANDs web page the data is correctly formatted. It just appears to be with in the stored procedure.
BUGGER I've just noticed that it is happing on "Report Regions" where I have also used TO_CHAR(decimal_Value, '99990.00') etc.
Does anyone know WTF I've done or not done. I'm pulling my bloody hair out as "IT SHOULD JUST WORK!!" :(
Regards
Mark

G'day Chrissy,
Thanks for you response, I've just logged it the demo application on my local instance of apex v 3.0.1 on Oracle XE and and as you would have it, I cannot for the life of me get the Number Formatting issue to occur at home.
So when I get back into work, I'll give your suggestion a go.
That said, I've modified the DEMO application specifically the TOP 10 Product report using every combination of the TO_CHAR (your way, the ways that I believe I'm using) and it works fine. I've created a new table with decimal values and a new report and it works fine. I even tries putting records with null values in the decimal field, but it worked fine.
I've just switched themes (even though themes have no influence of a dynamically create html page via procedure) annnnnd it works fine.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Just maybe, just maybe it was Friday-itise and when I get in Monday it will just work, unless I get stung by Monday-itise :)
I'll keep plodding along,
Mark

• My Product description doesn't match (searching by Product number on Lenovo site)

Hi,
I bought Thinkpad X200s on eBay - new, not used. I received it sealed with tape, not opened, hw configuration was exactly as was described/ordered. The numbers on the box are the same as on the notebook.
But when I go on Lenovo site, and check it by product number, I got different result.
My real HW configuration (only what differs):
HDD: 128 GB SSD, 6 cell battery, don't have UltraBase.
(the rest is ok)
This is what I got from Lenovo site, searching by Product number (7466-3GU):
Product: ThinkPad X200s 7466-3GU
Original description: SL9400(1.86GHz), 4GB RAM, 160GB 7200rpm HD, 12.1in 1440x900 LCD, Intel 4500MHD, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, Secure chip, X200 UltraBase+CDRW/DVDRW, Fingerprint reader, Intel Turbo Memory, 9c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 32
When I called on Lenovo support, they told me, it's strange, and that shouldn't happen. I asked them, to check it, if they will get the same result. And they sent me the same product description, as on the Lenovo site. So HDD, battery, and UltraBay differs.
Now I'm affraid, what if I'll have any problem, if they will accept it, or they will tell me, it's not cowered by warranty, because there are not original parts.
Is this a problem? What should I do now?
Thank you for your suggestions.
Karol
P.S.: I apologise for double post, I posted this question already on http://forum.notebookreview.com, but no reply. Then I realised, this is more appropriate forum for this question.

Welcome to the forum!
Warranty (if there is one) shouldn't be an issue as the HDD and battery are customer replaceable units (CRU) and the UltraBase isn't required. But... Did you get cheated by the seller? Have you checked to see if it is truly a new unit with the full warranty and not a refurb?

• Problem with the number format in the graph axis with Report Generation Toolkit.

Hi!
I'm trying to use the Report Generation Toolkit to plot some graphs in Excel.
My first problem is that I don't know how to configure the number format in the Excel Set Graph Font.vi so that my numbers are correctly displayed in the graph's axis. The only given option is general (0,0) but this is not enough for me, my numbers can get really small so I need engineering notation or fraccional format.
Second: I also insert a table with the graph source data, but the numbers are not correctly displayed either: for example:
0,75 is shown as:
0,750000
but 1,25 is shown as:
1!250!000
My guess is I am making to much or wrong string to number conversions or Excel is getting it wrong but I can't find my way...
Can someone help me with this?
Thanks,
Isabel

Here is my VI, it's just a trial so it can look messy...
Thanks,

• Number formatting issue in Web intelligence report

Folks ,
I've an object called ' Serial number' (12 digits long) but when I set this in query filter as a prompt number format gets changed.
Similar like this:
whereas I am expecting to see 123456789123 something like this.
I made sure that object data type is number while designing universe as well as also format the object ( using format object option) and set as ############. ( 12times #) to forced as 12 digits number.
When I drag this object in 'result objects' results shows fine but if i add this as 'Query Filters' number gets changed as above pic.
Any advise ?
Cheers,

• Number format issue in XML Publisher from OAF (',.' is replaced by 'u n')

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in XML Publisher report. In report I need to display some number fields with 'USD' format. In RTF, data type 'Number' and format '###,##0.00' is selected. If I run concurrent program from oracle core forms using System Administrator > Concurrent > Request, I am able to get correct number format.
Ex : 123456.00 After Number format : 123,456.00
Also its working fine from XML Publisher Administrator responsibility (using Preview).
But problem is when I submit the concurrent request through OAF, I am not getting correct data. ',' is replace by 'u' and '.' is replace by 'n'.
Ex: 123456.00 In Report 123u456n00
Checked profile value : ICX: Numeric Character and its set to 1,000.00 at site level.
Do I need to set character set anywhere in OAF before calling concurrent program?
I tried to use "alter session set nls_numeric_character = ',.';" by calling stored procedure from OAF. But still its not working.
Please give me solution for this.

Hell - I am running into the same issue? Did you guys find a resolution for this? Please let me know, would really appreciate your help.

• How to change number format to international setting

Hello everyone,
I need some help on how to change the number format on my phone from the standard US format to an international format with no spacing between the numbers. Currently, my numbers appear as: 0706 343 3456. However, I will like for it to appear as 07063433456. When i recieve calls, the number format is not recognised and I cannot tell who is calling. Same goes for SMS messages. In this part of the world, the number format is not spaced, which is quite frustriating.
Can anyone please advice me on how to go about this.
Thanks

Really? I tried that but it did not work. I restarted the iphone several times but the number format did not change.

• How to change number format in web reports

Hi, Experts,
Simple question, if I want to change the number format on web report as following
. . . . . . . . Actual
. . . . . . . . *1000SGD
new order . 341.5
sales . 567.45
if I click "Actual" then select properties, set data format from "in 1000" & "0" to "in 1" & "0.00", nothing changed in web report after refresh.
if i click one number (for example: 341.5) or "New order" to set data format from "in 1000" & "0" to "in 1" & "0.00", only this row's format is changed, others row still keep old format.
how to change whole column's data format at once setting?
thanks in advance.

• How do I change the number formatting within a Cell Table in Microsoft Word?

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me out on an issue I've been having... I work for an accounting firm and we do a lot of financial statements.
I was wondering if we would be able to treat a cell table in Microsoft Word 2007 like I would a cell table in Microsoft Excel. Meaning, I would like to change the formatting of the numbers in the table to the "Accounting" (number) format so it
aligns by the decimal point and use the $ signs and () for negative numbers. We do use the link tables feature, however, most of our balancing pages just can't be done in Excel because of the way the text is written. It would be much harder to format
the text if it were to be typed in Excel. We have also tried creating an Excel sheet within Microsoft Word but it is the same as linking the tables... Again, a text formatting issue. The only option is to use tables within Word but how do we change
the number formatting to a "accounting" (number) format where the numbers would align with the decimal point and use () for the negative numbers. Is there ANY option for us to do this other than manually entering this information in using tabs?
If there are no options other than entering it in manually, please consider this as an option for your next software update. I believe that a LOT of people out there will be interested in this feature... My manager and I just attended a webinar on Microsoft
Advanced Word Tips Tricks and Techniques and 75% of the attending people had this question but no answer.
Thank you very much for your help!!!!!

Word does not really have number formatting for table cells. You can align cell contents on the decimal point, though, by setting a so-called decimal tab stop.
Option 1:
- Select the cells for which you want to do this.
- Display the ruler.
- Click the Tab box on the left hand side of the ruler until the box contains an inverted T with a dot.
- Click in the ruler where you want the decimal tab.
Option 2:
- Select the cells for which you want to do this.
- Click the arrow in the lower right corner of the Paragraph group on the Home tab of the ribbon.
- Click the Tabs... button in the lower left corner of the dialog.
- Specify a tab position in the box, e.g. 1.5".
- Select the 'Decimal' radio button under 'Alignment'.
- Click Set.
- Click OK.
You will have to type the numbers as they should appear, including the $ for currency and the ( ) for negative numbers.

• Applying date and number format mask

I have specified a date format for an attribute and a number format for another attribute of an entity object using Entity Object Editor - Control hints for the attributes.
The date format is:
Format type: Simple Date
Format: dd.MM.yyyy
The number format is:
Format type: Currency
Format: 0,000.00 km
When using <c:out value="${bindings.MyDate}"></c:out> the format mask for the date is applied and it looks good, but when using
<c:forEach var="Row" items="...">
<c:out value="${Row.MyDate}"></c:out>
</c:forEach>
the format mask is not applied.
When it comes to the number format it is not applied no matter what I use.
I have tried setting the format for the view object attributes as well but the result is the same. How do I make this work?

Can it have something to do with <html:form> ? Since it works using <c:out value="${bindings.MyDate}"></c:out> inside a html:form.
