Production Reporting + Automated Report Generation

Hello,
Does anyone know how to genarate reports automatically by using Production Reporting?
The source data is in Essbase and the data on updated monthly. We should get the updated data on the reports automatically but I do not know how to do it?
What tools (HAL, DIM?) and skills (JAVA, SQR) are needed to get data automatically? The creation of a normal report can be made with graphical user interface.

You could set up a dbms_job (unix daemon) to call the report and execute at a given time.
When you call the report then you can pass the parameters without any problem. (with no user intervention)
I don't have any example but you should be able to find a lot of them.

Hyperion Reports - automating reports by e-mail

Hi, I have recently upgraded to Hyperion Reports 7.2. I'mrunning on Essbase 6.5.42. Our old version of HyperionReports was 2.6, and I always had problems running reports usingthe batch scheduler, so never used it. I was hoping to beable to use it once we upgraded. While I am able to schedulebatches and have them run successfully now, the e-mailing of thepdf output always fails. Has anyone had this issue? There is really no error message given except to say that itfailed. I don't know if there is some setup that's supposedto take place that is causing this failure or what. Hyperionsupport has, as usual, been no help, so any assistance would begreatly appreciated.

Go to \Hyperion\HyperionReports\lib on your report server, open hr_schedulebatch.properties and change the logging option to DEBUG. You may need to do this for other property files in the folder as well depending on where the source of your problem is. Does any emailing work? You said PDF fails, does HTML email succeed, or can you send a notification email, but not with report attached? Wondering if the issue is the mail settings, or the PDF generator. Simple check is to see if you can manually run a report and select view as PDF and see if it works.

CMC Automating Reports Question

Greetings and thanks for taking the time to look this over,
I am looking to automate reports in CMC but cannot find a step-by-step guide to do this successfully. Can anyone provide me with directions? If not, here's the problem:
1: When I import a Crystal report and set it to schedule, with an output of PDF and make that schedule reoccurring - the report does not run. The only reoccurring report that is successfully running is one set to reoccur "now."
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am attempting to schedule specific uploaded crystal reports to run on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. This would seem pretty self explanatory, but somehow it's not working. Here's what I do now:
1: Inside the "Automated Reports" folder, I've created subfolders for the various companies that we report for.
2: I've created various user names for each of those companies. For example: The "Blue Company" folder has a "Blue Company" user name.
3: I upload the Crystal Report in question into the "Blue Company" folder.
4: I go into "properties" for the report.
5: In "default settings", I schedule the recurrence for "Daily" with Days(N) = 1, and the start Date/Time with Today's date and the time at 2:00 AM, with an end date 10 years in the future.
6: I try "Scheduling For" either myself or the username created in step 2.
7: Format is changed to PDF.
8: Destination: Changed to Email. From is set from a company email address. To are other confirmed email addresses. Subject is something like "%SI_NAME%%SI_STARTTIME%" and the Specific Name of something like "%SI_NAME%%SI_STARTTIME%.%EXT%"
9: I then Save the report.
I don't see any other steps to take to force the report schedule to take. If I run these reports "now," they usually run fine, but the recurrence part just refuses to work.
Does this provide you with enough information?

I got quantity required and issue quantity field in co24 but i didnt get currect stock field(unrestricted stock) in that t-code
Is any t-code is available ?

In any of the standard SAP reports you will not find the Goods Movements of Particular order along with available Component stock.
Goods movements report of the Production / Process order is static report once the order is close.While Stock report is variable report and may be change Time to Time.
I think if you wish such kind of report then you have to go for Z reorts.
You can find all the Goods Movements of Order in COOISPI/COOIS/IW3M but there is not available stock report.

Report Painter GR214 generation error - Short dump 4.6C

While generating a report with more than twenty sections, the system short dumps with the error message GR214 pointing to "MESSAGE_TYPE_X"
"%_T01JR0 " or "########################################"
"INSERT_ROW_FORMULA_NEW"
Any leads to fix this?
The generation error happens only when I include a last line formula in the last section, Till then it is working fine.

The error you are receiving could be caused by a large number of row blocks in your report definition, (you can check the report definition with report RGRRDC00). A report should not contain too many row and column blocks. It is not possible to give an upper bound for the number of row blocks (since the length of the coding depends on other parts of the report as well). However, even a complicated Report Writer or Report Painter report should not contain more than 50 row blocks, and reports with more than 100 row blocks should not be defined.
In this case the report(s) have to be redefined. Please also refer to the note 387916 for further information regarding this issue.
When there are more than 30 variables in a report, please have a look at the note 332091.
Please reduce the number of row blocks in the report by using the function 'Edit' -> 'Rows' -> 'Explode' in the Report Painter
definition. This function enables several rows to be created for one row block (in the Report Painter definition one row block is just one row). Report Painter (and Report Writer) are designed to display hierarchical reports where the rows in the few row blocks are built up using the 'Explode' function.

i got one Functional spec on pp module. this FS main object is calculate the daily smelter performance.
Based on this FS I will make a report on POWER GENERATION FROM EACH PLANT AND SHIFT WISE.

SmartView report automation v9.3

Thanks is advance for any help.
I have built automated reports of various types over the years using the Excell Client add-in, Where I am workinf now, they only install Smart View so I am trying to produce the same sort of automated reports with the SmartView vba "Toolkit". However, I am not locating the required dll's and smartview.bas file that the documentation points to: "In Import File, select smartview.bas in \SmartView\bin to declare all functions or just the function you plan to use. "
I have searched both the client and server and am not finding anything.
Can anyone help?

The odd thing is, no smartview folder has been created, yet, smartview is up and running. One note, I am running Windows 7 AND Office 2007, that is why I downgraded to v9.3.1, 11.1.1.3 would not work on my machine.
I will see if I can do this on another machine.

Product Cost Planning report

Hello,
I am trying to make a report painter report which would display all the different cost components (columns) for a range of different materials (rows).
However this is the error message I get when I try and execute the report.
Can someone please advise on how to fix this probs. Above all, please explain in plain english what the message is all about.

Production order eff report

I want make a production order effciency report. for that the formula is
efficiency = Actual exe.time / planned exe. time .
We get planned exe. time from AFKO table.
While calculating actual exec. time I have a problem.
I have 3 operations
10, 20, 30.
Operation 10 starts at 7 am, 20 at 8 am and 30 at 9 am.
From 9 am to 3 pm all three operations r under execution.
At 4 pm operation 10 completes, at 5 pm oper. 20 completes, at 6 pm oper. 30 completes.
Now I want to calculate the total exec time of an order, i.e. from 7 am to 6 pm but time betwen 9 am to 3 pm is to be considered only once as it overlapping time.
How to map this?

Just a quick thought:
I guess your working on a Z report. You can calculate the efficiency of each operation i.e. actual vis a vis planned & then cummulate the % across to get overall efficiency.

How to Capturing depreciation to Products for COPA reports

Hi SAP Gurus,
My user requirement is capturing depreciation or Charge production machinery related Depreciation to respective products for COPA reporting. As currently all this depreciation is taken to excel sheet from the depreciation posted to asset.
Outside the system user prepare the allocation cycle and then post the same to the respective cost centers and value fields through COPA & CO assessment and Distribution cycles.
Now client find this allo/dist process is lengthy for COPA reports. Is it there any other criteria to post this dep. directly to COPA value fields.

In the costing sheet you may define one overhead for depreciation albeit this not being a standard practice. In the cost component structure also define on cost component assign the secondary cost element depreciation overhead. Change the COPA valuation to assign a value field for the cost component depreciation.
Alternatively in the COPA report itself you can show this depreciation as a formula column which will be at some percentage of RM and/or labour.
My 2 cents please.

I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge on whether automated reporting can be setup on CSA 5.2, or if anyone has developed a process that would generate automated reports from the CSA events and alerts and have them e-mailed to say, Network Administrators?

My oracle apps version is R12.1.3
I am getting an error message when opening a report in report builder.
Warning : Opening a report saved with a newer version of Reports Builder.
Functionality may be lost. Continue??

plesae update the thread as soon as possible.
After opening a report in Oracle Apps its open is different language. what could be the workaround for this..
Do i need to change any langauge setting?
