Program abnormality

Hi,
I am creating a Java text game and when pressing the keyboard, if a person encounters a certain character, let's say %, they will not be able to move onto %, so % is basically a wall. I have if statements that check if the character is % and it works properly and % acts like a wall. However, eventually, the program will see % as not being a wall and it will move onto %. Any idea why? This is really weird. It's like the program decides to fail after a while.
Thaanks in advance.

Just say that was the map. When C is moved up, the .
will replace C and C will replace the . right above
it. When it hits the wall, % C does not move up.
Stays in the same position. As I keep moving C around
the map it will eventually eat/replace the %
character with itself.Well, I'm afraid you do have to post some more code, because the bug certainly
is not to be found in the snippet you posted above. Some other piece of code
must alter the '%' wall character somewhere ... Are you doing multiple threads?
If so, the rowJ and colJ values could be incorrect ...
Jos (still psychic)

  • How to delete Init flag in a  process chain, before processing the init

    Hi,
    At the end of the week i need to re-execute the init request from ODS1 to ODS2.
    Therefore, i have to delete the init flag first and the requests in the CUBE1, everything automatically in the process chain.
    The schedule must be as follow :
    1. Delete init flag on ODS1
    2. Delete all request from ODS1 in the CUBE1
    3. Load an regular INIT request from ODS1 to CUBE1.
    Notes :
    I cannont clear all the CUBE1 content, as i have other datasource than ODS1.
    CUBE1 is the only one data-target of ODS1.
    Any suggestion, as there is no process in the process chain to "Delete Init Flag".
    Best regards,
    Ludovic

  • Trouble Importing Files PSE 7 to Windows 7 (32 bit)

    I am attempting to install PSE 7 into a computer running Windows 7, 32 bit.
    The installation was a success to the extent that I was able to connect a catalog containing a huge amount of photos, (180,000 +) to the organizer, and after several hours of "generating thumbnails" the installation seemed to have stabilized.
    However, when I try to import new photos, the "get photos from files and folders" operation takes ridiculous amounts of time, and is sort of "hit or miss" in that it sometimes it hangs altogether and I have to use "task manager" to shut down PSE.
    Other than this, the program seems to be working normally (!) or maybe (?)
    I have tried various compatibility modes, (XP SP2, Vista, Vista SP 1 & 2) with very little difference in results. Well, maybe Vista SP 2 was a tiny bit better.
    The computer this is installed in is a Pentium C2D 2.8Ghz (E6300) w/ 2 GB of DDR2 800Mhz RAM. So, it's got plenty of "juice" to deal with PSE's requirements.
    My photo files are stored in folders & sub-folders on a separate internal HDD (750GB WD).
    Both PSE 5 and 7 work on 3 other computers containing the identical catalogs and photos, in basically the same configuration, including separate storage drives for each. These machines are running Windows XP SPs 2 or 3 (I use multiple computers as a back up strategy, copying the entire existing HDD to another, then install the drive into another machine, import the catalog file into PSE, and change the HDD letter to match that of the existing catalog). Done this way, the PSE installation is identical to that in the previous machine, and is up and running rapidly.
    launching such  a large catalog takes a bit of time to initialize, or search (understandably), but on these other machines there is no trouble importing, locating, or managing files.
    I should add that on the Windows 7 machine, Windows Explorer works quite well in accessing all of the photo files, so this sort of rules out a problematic Hard drive.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Mr. Ellis, PSE 7 is simply not permitting me to drag folders from Windows Explorer into the organizer. It just blows up the dreaded "black circle with diagonal slash", and that's the end of the issue, at least as far as PSE 7 is concerned.
    Since I've had to terminate this program abnormally several times, it resets the preferences upon restart. The other day it hung when I was trying to set preferences, so as you might expect, I'm very cautious about making changes. I don't know if changing any preferences would enable drag and drop, I'm just trying to illuminate the eggshells I'm walking in trying to stabilize the program.
    In answer to your question, about the "documents and settings folder", no, I'm not using in any of my photo file paths. I realize I may have confused the issue with that statement, it was out of context. But my purpose in doing so was to obviate the differences in file paths that PSE is expecting, and the file paths that I'm using. Perhaps that was a bad example.
    I almost never use either the "My Documents" or the My Pictures" folders in Windows, nor do I allow PSE to use them. Storing data of any kind on the OS drive (C:/) is not in my repertoire of "stupid things I like to do, even if they're destined to end badly".
    All of my computers have a minimum of 2 physical HDDs, not partitions. All video, music, photos, program installer files, etc. are stored on a discreet, separate, HDDs, (identified in "My Computer" as, (IE) " G: Volume")). The "C:/" drives are exclusively for Windows and installed programs.
    That said, a typical file path to a group of photos in my computer would be, "My Computer" > "G:/ Volume" > "My Digital Photos" > "Airshows" > "McGuire AFB 2007" (In case you're wondering, I'm way too lazy to go through that each time, so I add desktop shortcuts to the extra HDDs and even the largest folders).
    As you are well aware, that is completely different from the file path that PSE would choose by default. A file path for which I have a great deal of disdain. But, that is another complicated and contentious issue, which doesn't have a clear winner thus far.
    Anyhoo, I think that PSE would "appear" more compatible (and probably is )with Windows 7 if it were allowed to follow it's own choices as to where to store the photo files. One supposes the folders that Windows 7 "creates" for earlier programs further aids (supposed) compatibility.
    As I mentioned in one of my other somewhat long winded posts, I now have a viable option for importing photos, "find photos by searching", the manual drill down modus operandi. Works great!
    I'm not expecting this installation of PSE to do any, "heavy lifting" with respect to editing, or a resting place for un-backed up photos . It's in a new machine I just built for the primary purpose of, extra backup,  recording TV, and perhaps installing a Bluray drive. The motherboard has HDMI output, so it plugs into the TV directly, and the PSE slideshow function works perfectly.  With a 40" TV, it's even better than a slide projector for boring relatives with vacation photos!
    So, although this thread is still marked as "unanswered", I do have a workaround solution. There should be a check box indicating, "it won't ever be answered until Adobe issues a patch"! (Like that's going to happen).
    Again Mr. Ellis, thank you very much for your interest in this issue. I might add that I have read your page on problems with PSE and it's obvious that you have applied a great deal of thought, effort, experience, and industry toward helping people deal with PSE more effectively.
    As an afterthought I have several copies of PSE laying around, 2,3,5, & 7, (some in multiples) and I've never had a serious problem with any of them. So I'm actually astounded when I see the litany of issues that apparently manifest themselves. This is my first actual issue, and Windows 7 is pretty upfront about PSE 7 being an incompatible application.

  • Rac node crash

    Hi,
    I am using 2 node rac enviroment.I am doing some tests for availability.When i poweroff one node of cluster the other node of cluster reboot itself. The voting disk is online. I think this is caused from network heartbeat of private network. So i wonder when one node of cluster goes down , does the other node have to reboot itself or not ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    This is 10gr1 rac.I could not find alertlog.But taken log from ocssd logs from both nodes.I have rebooted node2 and node1 reboot itself.

  • Runtime Error of Labview and NI-DAQ utility in Win98

    I got the following message when I tried to start LabVIEW 5.0.10 and NI-DAQ Configuartion Wizard:
    Runtime Error!
    (corresponding directories)\xxxxxxx.exe
    program abnormal terminated
    Acutally, I have tried to register msi.dll service with regsvr32 c:\windows\system\msi.dll command. But this cannot solve my problem. Does anyone can tell me how can I solve this problem?
    Thank you for your kind attention.

    I do not have version 5.0.10 anymore, but I would suggest just reinstalling the NI-DAQ driver. There could be any of a large number of problems causing this and, when you are getting fatal errors like this, it is usually easier to reinstall the drivers than work through other possiblities.

  • AIX core dump file,

    Hi
    In AIX core dump file, we got this message
    'SOFTWARE PROGRAM ABNORMALLY TERMINATED'CORE FILE NAME
    /scclive/oracle/inst/apps/SCC_ebsprod/ora/10.1.2/forms/core
    PROGRAM NAME
    frmweb
    We are getting these errors frequently when there was some network issue between our server and PDC. That why oracle application server is hanging and we had to bounce for resolving the issue. Can anybody help how to resolve permanently from AIX point of view?
    Regards
    Ateeq

    Hi
    1)In which way the PDC is connected to your EBIZ system?
    No we are using hostfile. 2)If point 1 is correct then u should solve the network issue as the forms sessions are hanging coz of network issue OR If point 1 is correct then you must update the EBIZ system hostfile with the fully qualified domain name and remove DNS server for the EBIZ system to solve this issue.
    We do have fully qualified domanin name in hostfile.As well as using DNS server also.Regards
    Ateeq

  • Xcelsius SP2 FP2.1 CRASHES!

    I have the following consequent problem, trying to create a SWF
    C++ error program abnormal ends
    I upgraded Xcelsius to SP2 with FP2.1 (5.2.1.0 Build 12,2,1,66)
    I upgraded C++ redistributable 2005 with SP1
    I upgraded C++ redistributable 2008 with SP1
    So everything i up to date, but the problem stays.
    Sometimes it crashes (C++ error) sometimes it creates a SWF, but this one is not complete, so not working.
    Other problem is that 'PREVIEW' in Xcelsius is also crashing with the same error.

    Hi,
    I have installed SP2 FP 2.1 it works fine. Moreover, I don't install any redistributable C++ packages. At least I don't have them in Add or Remove programs.
    I suggest to completely delete office and xcelsius and then reinstall them. I recommend to use Office 2003 English version for Xcelsius development. I found that it has some problems with 2007 version.

  • Oracle Connection Release Issue with Latest Driver not with the legacy one

    Hi
    I came across a scenario in the http://www.oracleutilities.com/Packages/dbms_alert.html, which discuss about the usage of the dbms_alert (Alert.java program). I used this example with classes12.jar and terminated the program abnormally without raising the signal. When i checked the oracle session in v$session table i didn't see any stale session, however when i used the ojdbc6_g.jar (followed the same step as i mentioned earlier for classses12.jar) i found the connection is not released. Any help/pointers would be highly appreciated

    Let me see if I understand this right
    1. You are using an example from several years ago
    2. The example is for code that captures the LOGON to the database
    3. You don't mention anything about whether you got the LOGON notification but mention that you terminate the program abnormally.
    4. You use a jar file that has been obsolete for over 10 years
    5. You use the latest version of the Oracle database (which the jar file does not support)
    Did I get that right?
    And this surprises you?
    Why on Earth would you do this? You should be using an example and jar files that support and are supported by the Database and JDK that your are using. When you don't you can expect to have problems and many of them you will not be able to resolve.
    You don't provide the JDK version that you are using but there's a good chance it is the wrong version for this hodgepodge also.
    1. Use JDK 1.6
    2. Use OJDBC6 jar
    3. Use examples for Oracle 11g
    Here is the official Oracle JDBC page that shows the Oracle DB versions supported for each of the JDBC drivers available and also describes the JDBC jars and what JDK versions they support.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/jdbc-faq-090281.html#02_01
    >
    Which JDBC drivers support which versions of Oracle Database?
    JDBC 9.0.1 drivers can talk to RDBMS
    11.1.0
    classes12.jar
    Classes for the Thin and OCI drivers when using a Java 1.2 or 1.3 VM.
    >
    And here is the PL/SQL Packages and Types doc that has an example in Chap 18 DBMS_ALERT (not for LOGON)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28419/d_alert.htm#BEHBCFCF
    >
    Examples
    Suppose you want to graph average salaries by department, for all employees. Your application needs to know whenever EMP is changed. Your application would look similar to this code:
    DBMS_ALERT.REGISTER('emp_table_alert');
    <<readagain>>:
    /* ... read the emp table and graph it */
    DBMS_ALERT.WAITONE('emp_table_alert', :message, :status);
    if status = 0 then goto <<readagain>>; else
    /* ... error condition */
    The EMP table would have a trigger similar to this:
    CREATE TRIGGER emptrig AFTER INSERT OR UPDATE OR DELETE ON emp
    BEGIN
    DBMS_ALERT.SIGNAL('emp_table_alert', 'message_text');
    END;
    When the application is no longer interested in the alert, it makes this request:
    DBMS_ALERT.REMOVE('emp_table_alert');
    This reduces the amount of work required by the alert signaller. If a session exits (or dies) while registered alerts exist, the alerts are eventually cleaned up by future users of this package.
    The example guarantees that the application always sees the latest data, although it may not see every intermediate value.

  • 'Abnormal program termination.An internal error has occured.'

    Hi all... i have a problem when i'm in the middle of infra installation (74%) and then this popup message appears and stop my installation 'Abnormal program termination. An internal error has occured. Pls provide the following files to Oracle support:
    "/oraias/oraInventory/logs/installActions2010-08-18_11-03-52AM.log"
    "/oraias/oraInventory/logs/installActions2010-08-18_11-03-52AM.err"
    "/oraias/oraInventory/logs/installActions2010-08-18_11-03-52AM.out"
    i have tried several ways and many times to reinstall, to solve this error but still the result is still failed. i've tried to follow metalink suggestion by Edit the PATH, CLASSPATH, and LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variables so that they do not reference any Oracle home directories, try to transfer again the software installation to directory server and extract from cpio files(i thought maybe the software might be corrupted) but the result is still same, stuck at the same place..! if any of you have experienced this before or have any idea on which setup do i have to look again, pls reply me ya. pls help and your help is very much appreciated.thanks in advanced.

    Hi, welcome to the forums!
    Have you already added the new node to Clusterware?. Have you followed all the steps detailed on the documentation?
    The note *How to Add Node/Instance or Remove Node/Instance in 10gR2, 11gR1 and 11gR2 Oracle Clusterware and RAC [ID 1332451.1]* is a must read, which points to the public documentation.
    If you already did that previous steps, you can enable a more detailed logging for the addnode execution with the parameters "-debug -logLevel finest", and setting this variables before running it again:
    export SRVM_TRACE=true
    export SRVM_TACE_LEVEL=2Regards.
