2 things: iPhoto isn't automatically copying all my imported photos into an iPhoto album folder AND ever since i upgraded my MacBook 120GB to Snow Leopard, iTunes won't recognize my iPhone.

So i have a 120GB MacBook that's about 4 years old (just updated to Snow Leopard--been working in Iraq, i'm a little behind).
Never had a problem with it.
I also have an iPhone 4 which i've had for about a year (up-to-date software as of about a month ago).
Never had a problem with it.
I've had iTunes for years of course (up-to-date).
Never had a problem.

Now my iTunes won't recognize my iPhone since the Snow Leopard update.
iPhoto will recognize my phone, but iTunes won't.
Went through all the preferrences and i can't find anything that isn't set properly.
iTunes Helper is used during startup.
Everything seems fine.

I use a WD external hard drive to back my Mac up every week or so.
I recently realized that half of my pictures from iPhoto are not copied to the external.
They haven't been transfering over.
So i snooped through my folders and as it turns out, iPhoto hasn't been copying the pictures i import from my iPhone to iPhoto and saving them as .jpg files in the pictures folder (or iPhoto album or whatever) like i think it's supposed to.
My pictures folder has approx half of all my pictures in it, meaning at some point (probably 2 years ago) iPhoto stopped making the file copies of my imported pictures.
I do not know why.
No idea how to fix it.
If i were able to fix that (with your help), would all the pictures that haven't been copied automatically copy to my pictures folder once i had the issue resolved or would there be a lot of dragging and dropping?
I've been clumsily and sloppily copying all my pictures to a new folder on my desktop and manually transferring that folder to a thumb drive (which i keep in my pocket) and my external (just so i have them in some form) in case my computer crashes or a mortar shell lands on my room and blows my computer up.
Can anyone please help me with any of this?
I can't just stoll down to the Apple store to ask the Genius Bar (I'm in Baghdad) and i don't have Apple Care so no one will help me on the phone when i call Apple.

Did you ever get your iPhone to register with iTunes? I just upgraded as well to Snow Leopard, and my my isn't recognized at all also.
If you did get this resolved, I would appreciate a little suggestion in the right direction.

I can copy a single contact phone number from my address book to my sim card, by selecting that individual number and then in the menu copy it to the SIM.
How can I mass copy all my phone numbers in my address book onto my SIM card in one go?
Any tips or pointers very appreciated...

Unix into Local

Hi All,
I have one report (sample) in Unix system.
I stored shared folder.
I found the 2 file under C:\OracleBIData\web\catalog\ACD\root\shared\sharedfolder1-->(Sample.atr and Sample)
I copy those files and past into my local system(Window) under. C:\OracleBIData\web\catalog\ACD\root\shared\sharedfolder1
I am able to see that report in Answer page but when i click it shows below error.
Path not found (/shared/SharedFolder1/sample)
How will copy the report from Unix into Local window system.

if i understood correctly, then use the catalog manager to copy the reports.
Steps to do:
1) open the cataloge from the catalog manager in online mode
2) slecect the folder (shared) where your reports are
3) archive them by selecting them
and it displays the operation is successfull and then close the catalog
4) and finally open the windows url on online and then unarchive those reports here in required folder....

I copied all of my CD's onto my iMac's hard drive. Now I'd like to buy a new iMac and am wondering how to transfer the music I have loaded on my iMac from CD's on to my new computer w/o going through the process of loading them into my iTunes Library.

I have copied all of my CD's, probably over 100, on to my iMac, through iTunes and now am considering buying a new iMac. Would like to be able to transfer what's in my music library w/o having to recopy all of the CD's. Any thoughts? Can I do it throught the iCloud or do I need to buy and external storage device?

When you buy your new iMac you will be able to have the installation process transfer all your applications, data (including music, pictures, documents, etc) and settings to your new computer. In the past that was done via Firewire. I'm not entirely sure of the process with the new iMacs that don't have firewire. I think it can be done via ethernet and probably via tha thunderbolt cord using a firewire adapter but you'll want to check that out.
    With the your new computer properly connected to your old computer, the initial booting of the new computer will include the ability to move everything over.
    If for some reason you don't want to do that (smart if you have some horrible software issue that is causing problems) you can connect your old computer to the new one and start it in Target Disk mode where it will be seen as a hard drive. You can then manually copy over all your music and import that into iTunes (and any other data you want).
    Somebody here will surely point you to directions for connecting an older iMac with no Thunderbolt to a newer iMac with no Firewire.

Now you may have to implement code to check if the destination folder exists and to create it, etc. But if you use the Front Panel Control to select the destination folder, it should be okay.
Not the best implementation, mind you but you'll get the idea..

I think it's because getRowAtRangeIndex depends of what the getRangeSize() value is on the view object before executeQuery is invoked. You can change this value in the properties of the viewobject or programmatically, using setRangeSize. If your range size is one, getRowAtRangeIndex(1) returns null, because the index i zero-based. You should only use range size if you only need to present ex. 10 rows a a time?

Its almost as if the file is there but not accessable. I desperately need to access my old mail. How do I do this? I am fairly confident that I copied all files off my old notebook. Is there a way for me to search for the Database file? Maybe I copied it to a different location? Urgent help please.

Simplest way is to use Target Disk mode:

and hook to another Mac and use CCC or SuperDuper and clone your HD to another drive.
You could also pull the drive out of your MBP and use an external USB case or SATA - USB dongle to hook it to another Mac.

How to copy all objects (incl. joins) from a BM into another existing BM

Hello, i'm a regular viewer of this forum and now i have one issue that looks simple but i cannot resolve it.
To make it less complex let's say we have a business layer with two business models (e.g. CIS-Finance and CIS-Logistics). For each BM we have a seperate subject area in the presentation layer.
Each BM has unique objects, no object (like dimension time) is appearing in both BM's.
Now there is a business requirements to have a 'mega' model, that is one extra BM that is combining both BM's. Let says we want to merge both model into one new big model.
To achieve this I did the following:
1) Duplicate CIS-Finance to CIS-All (using right mouse click on BM and click duplicate and change the name of duplicated BM to CIS-All)
2) Then I select all objects in CIS-Logistics and copy all these objects and paste them into the new BM CIS-All.
All selected objects were copied into the BM but the logical joins are not copied as well the content level information of the source tables.
Is there a way to copy also this information (logical joins and content info), or do you suggest another approach to achieve this goal?

what i did:
1) i copied the original rpd to rpd2
1) in the original rpd, i duplicated CIS-Finance to CIS-Logistics (so I have the same name for the BM to where i want to copy to)
2) in the rpd2 i selected all objects in BM CIS-Logistics
3) I pasted all objects to rpd BM CIS-Logistics (so BM has same name)
unfortunately it doesn't work, all objects are copied but not the joins and content.
You suggest UDML, can you be a little bit more specific? I searched the internet, found out what UDML is, but I cannot map it to what I want.

I am looking for a transaction/report which gives me an overview of all custom programs/elements build in a system. I used to know this transaction but I cannot find it anymore (searched throughout Google and SDN ).
Can anyone help me out?

PS the overview is needed to show a customer an overview of all used Z-elements in their system (and I do not want to use TADIR or SE93 ).

Unfortunately this is not the one. It was a transaction which provided me some input options and which I then could run and which gave me an overview on all Z-elements in the system. A fantastic report! I hope someone can help me out with this report/trx.

is there a way i can copy birthdates from a custom field to regular address book field?
my current birthdates are not reflecting in iCal - and while there is are solutions to copying custom dates to ical, i would rather work on the solution to copy the custom date to regular birthdate.

So, if you're sure all your custom dates are birthdays and you want to copy them all to the birthday field.
First, open Address Book and from the File menu select Export, then +Address Book Archive...+ This saves a backup of your Address Book database in case you don't like the results of the script below.
Then run this Applescript.
