Programmatic Control of Pulses from Ctr0

Using LV8.0 with Win_XP.
To control a loading solenoid at a user programmed time interval
( On / Off ) I am using Ctr0 to generate the pulses and counting the
number of pulses by Ctr1 using a hardware link from Ctr0 output
to Ctr1 input.
My requirement is to be able to start and stop the Pulse generation
based on certain conditions in a State Machine. And when I stop
and restart the pulse generation, the Numeric count of pulses must not
be reset. Typically each schedule on the machine will run for about 2
million cycles and hence retaining the elapsed count is very important.
More than my description the enclosed VI will explain the requirement more clearly.

I liked your application and couldn't help but try and code this up myself. I have attached the modified version with the logic used to stop/restart the counter output. Let me know if this is what you were trying to do.

Can I programmatically control an xbox 360 console from a PC using a USB cable?

I have an application that may require LabVIEW, some software normally associated with LabVIEW or both...
I would like to be able to programmatically control an Xbox 360, via a PC, and through the use of a USB cable connecting both. I have setup a separate Xbox 360 console as a "dedicated server" for my gaming clan. I would like to be able to have the PC issue scripted commands according to a schedule, that will cause the console to power up, start the specific game (disk in the machine already), and then proceed through a number of Xbox 360 controller button actuations to cause the game to essentially be ready to play.
If possible, I would like to find software that I could install on my PC (currently run with a Windows XP SP2 OS, but I have access to many versions of Windows and also Linux and soon, Solaris Unix).
I have tried using various Infrared devices that connect to and are controlled by my PC, but none so far have allowed the infrared signals to work once the game is launched (apparently, only controller signals generated through a USB cable or through RF from a wireless Xbox 360 remote work once the game is launched - and that probably because the IR signals are meant to control the console as a media device).
I would appreciate any direction that you 'all could offer. Thanks in advance!

The last solution appears to be pretty close to what I'd like to do. If I understand you Robert, I would attach a DAQ to my PC via USB and would control that device via software, then the DAQ connects to a digital output controlled relay (looks multiple wires, and screw-on connections) and then there would be separate wires connecting 'channels' (my term) from the relay to individual button wires inside of the gaming controller? The signals coming from the controller following this would therefore appear as normal.
If this is correct, could you suggest any specific devices for this? I see that NI makes several USB DAQ's includng the USB-6501, 6008, and 6009. I also have seen many digital output controlled relays available from different vendors. I could use some assistance with the finer points for choosing the correct ones to purchase.
In case it makes any difference although the controller has analog functions my requirements are for only the digital buttons only as I would simply be proceeding through the Console's menu (left, right, up, down, enter/select, etc.), launching the game, and then within the game continuing to choose among the game's menu items, ultimately according to a script. So, I don't see any need to be able to actuate either of the 'sticks' which are analog in nature.

Help acquiring a pulse via Ctr1 (in) from Ctr0 (out)

I am needing assistance acquiring a slow pulse signal. I am generating a pulse using Ctr0 Out. I want to graph this pulse output along with a temperature measurement to see how the two measurements interact. My problem is that I never see the pulse at my pulse input channel.
I can measure the temperature fine. this works good. I can generate a pulse without a problem as I ave an O-scope to monitor the Ctr0 output. this works fine. However, I have wired the output of Ctr0 to a physical channel on the SCC-68 (PFI-4 or Ct1 Gate channel) and created a DAQ Assistant to acquire this pulse. The VI runs and errors out with a message that the signal to the DAQ Assistant is never seen and thus times out. I can physciall y see the signal via my O-scope going to the channel. I must have the DAQ Assistant 2 configured incorrectly?????

I noticed that your number of samples has been set to 1000 (continuous mode), hence a possible reason for the timout errors. I would suggest changing that to 1 sample (on demand) and see if that gives you any progress.

HP Photosmart 5514 all-in-one printer. Control copy function from computer?

I have a HP Photosmart 5514 whose touch screen is no longer working properly. It doesn't recognize any selection at the bottom right of the screen. I can touch any other place on the screen and it will respond. Because of this I'm no longer able to copy or scan from the printer. I can print from my computer as this doesn't involve using the touchscreen on the printer. What I'm wondering is if it is possible to use my computer to control copying. Is it possible to use the computer (rather than the touch screeen on the printer) to tell the printer to copy?

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the touch screen not responding.
One step that you can try is to please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.

As for controlling the printer from the computer, the only thing that you will be able to do is print or use the scanning software to scan to the computer.

is it possible to control itunes dj from other computers on the same network? we have a computer running itunes connected to our speakers here at work, and we'd like to be able to control it through the other comptuers on the network. is this possible, or do you have to use iphones/ipads/etc?

AC is corret you can do that. It might work a bit better for you if you use a wired connection vs a wireless one for the ATV's.

Windows or Mac? You can at least send iMessages from a Mac with Mountain Lion installed.
There are apps that let you do the reverse (control the computer from the phone). I don't know of any that let you go the other way. It would be kind of cool if we could do this though. But, I suppose it could open up a Pandora's box of security problems for the phone itself. Just imagine somebody hacking into your phone remotely and using it without your permission....

the following statement is being made at the end ...
The JavaScript call is issued as "window.exitPopup()" because the script is called from the page root. You can easily see how the JavaScript can be modified to have "exitPopup" becoming a generic function avoiding hard coded popup ID's as in my example.
I don't understand how to avoid hardcoded popup ID's. Could someone please explain this to me.

The closePopup function in your comment has the variable popupId. That made me wonder, if it is possible to set this variable in my jspx page.
I made a workaround by defining a new variable called popupId with getter and setter methods and using the setActionListener to set that popupId. After that I was calling the closePopup() function. Do you know a better way doing this?

You can do it manually, but it is much simpler if you use a tool such as Back To My Mac, LogMeIn, or something like that. Those programs enable you to connect to your computer through your router without you having to adjust the router settings manually.

Cannot map control record values from payload w/XSLT after SP13 upgrade

Since we upgraded to SP13, the mapping of control record values form the XML payload to the IDOC control record (File->XI->IDOC scenario) no longer works if the mapping is done via XSLT. It works if the XI graphical mapper is used. The XSLT used is the same pre and post upgrade, but worked fine previously.
[ Apply Control Record Values from Payload is checked in the IDOC adapter comm channel. ]
Has anyone else experienced this? Am looking for any inspiration

Are you sure the xslt file is still there?
Maybe some non-compliance was corrected in later SP and your XSLT was using that non-compliance.
If you post the XSLT we could try to point out any possible errors.
