I am using my new mac book air and I don't know whether it comes with programs such as word, excel, powerpoint and alike. Does my laptop come with a mac versions of the programs above? If so where do I find them?

Ya, as the others mentioned, if it is not on the machine, you have to purchase it seperately.
There are various solutions for office products:
There is Apple's iWork suite, which is essentally a 'copy' of the Microsoft Office products, there is Numbers (Excel), Pages (Word) and Keynote (PowerPoint).
Then there is of course the Microsoft Office for Mac, which is essentially the normal Word, Excel and Power Point that you are used to, just with a MAc 'interface' so it's different to use than the Windows version.
And then there are free office suites as Open Office, Libre Office, and Google Docs.
There are more options, just google for them.
I personally use a mixture between iWork, Microsoft Office for Mac and Google Docs, all others only if it has to be.

I have Office installed on my MacBook Pro but I need to let somebody else use it for a training class, i want to let them to log in as a guest but still have access to Office, when you log in as a guest you don't really have any programs available, help would be appreciated!

I would have thought that all applications which are properly installed in the Applications folder would be available to all users, including Guest. That's the case on my machine. Is your MS Office installed in your **user** application folder (in your home folder, which limits applications to that user) or is it at the top level of your folder hierarchy (which is where you should be installing applications which you want to be available to all users)?

As you can see from the above these are the normal options you expect to see but for the user affected they get the option to send as a Text document, a pdf or an XPS the option to send as a attachment has gone.
I have logged into her PC with my account and it was fine, i have had a look and no one else has reported this throughout the company and looking for answers online has proven fruitless.
Any Ideas on why this option would have changed to only allow the user to send it as text.

The "Send as Attachment" option only works when Outlook and word are installed from the same suite. That is required.

You can install Office for Mac
You can install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant then install Office for Windows in your Windows installation
You can install Windows and Office for Windows using a virtual machine like Fusion, Parallels, or VirtualBox

you’ll know as soon as the rest of us do if Apple decide to produce a new non-Retina model. My guess would be that they won’t do so, but that’s only a guess.
With Internet, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint representing your main usage, either a MacBook Pro or a MacBook Air would be suitable for you.

We have an application that requires storing MS Word, MS Excel,
PDF and HTML docs. We're planning on storing these documents in
a table as BLOB's with a column in the table that would indicate
the MIME type for the document. We need to be able to retrieve
these documents using the WebForms application we created. The
user would prefer to view a Word document in MS Word, an Excel
document in MS Excel, and so on. As of now there is no
requirement for searching within these documents, all we have to
do is retrieve them from the db and display them to the client.
Keep in mind this is a web based app, developed with Forms6i, we
would like to give the user the ability to press a button and
have the document displayed in the appropriate program.
I've searched for examples for this type of situation and have
been unsuccessful. But after reading about Oracle Text it
sounds like this could be what I'm looking for, minus the search
capability that is. Am I looking in the right place? Is it
possible to accomplish the requirements described above using
Oracle Text? If not where should I be looking.

greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with WebForms so I will only comment about
Oracle Text.
You can use Oracle Text to store, index, and search documents in
different types of formats (HTML, XML, MS Office, PDF, etc.).
Oracle Text also provides document services like a markup version
of a document, highlighting, themes, and other linguistic
features.

How do I keep programs such as Word when I wipe my hard drive to reinstall Snow Leopard?

I am having serious issues with Lion. Even after the update, I lose WiFi, my mailbox crashes, Word crashes without saving a backup, and it has just been a very distasteful experience. I talked with Apple, and they couldn't help me resolve issues beyond telling me to bring it in or reinstall. I am choosing to reinstall Snow Leopard. I am going to wipe my hard drive clean and start over. Could someone tell me how to keep programs such as Office '11 though? I am currently at school and I didn't bring my Office software with me to reinstall, so how could I save it? I can't really do a time capsule since I am running Lion and I want to reinstall Snow Leopard.

If you are going to wipe the disk then you will have to reinstall the software.
You can't have your cake and eat it also.

Why do I have screen display distortion that look something like barcodes when my browser is open and I start using another application such as word or excel?

Seems that whenever I am connected to mozilla and my browser (yahoo) is active, I will open games, word or excel, one at a time or open more than one at a time, I get screen distortions that look like bar codes that make it impossible to read or distinguish the images on the screen. It happens very frequently. I have tried changing my screen settings and updating my graphics card software. Nothing seems to help. If mozilla is closed and I am not browsing, I do not have this problem.

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried your suggestions and for a moment it appeared to work. I opened multiple applications, several games and a word document all at the same time. While I opened the games, it appeared to be fixed, but when I opened the word document the distortion appeared. I checked for graphics display drivers but there are none.

Help. I understand there is an ap I can purchase to be able to work from my computer. I want to be able to open word/excel docs.

Pages has a version for iOS, and there are other apps for iOS, reportedly capable of reading these files. I do not like iPad so am not very good here, my son is better, for sure.

When i am on different webpages and i try to copy information (URLs, data, links etc) from the webpage and try to paste it into either email messages, MS Outlook 2003 or a MS Word 2003 document, it will not paste. Not sure if this is a Firefox problem or a MS Office problem. It worked fine until about 2 days ago. Now it won't do it at all - have tried from several different webpages, different types of data, different types of desinations (documents, email, etc)

How do I formate my MBP completely, but afterwards be able to re-install everything such as (OSX, docs, music, pics, etc.)?

I've back-up'ed everything on my Macintosh HD with Time Machine and an extra HD.

Booting From An OS X Installer Disc
1. Insert Snow Leopard Installer Disc into the optical drive.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
5. Wait for installer to finish loading.
After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select the startup volume from the left side list then click on the Erase tab. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then click on the Options button. Select the one pass Zero Data option and click on the OK button. Then click on the Erase button.
Note: You can skip the Zero Data option if you are not concerned about removing sensitive personal data from the hard drive. If you choose to skip this part of the process then it is possible for others to recover data from the hard drive. The Zero Data procedure will prevent others from getting access to your personal information.
This process will take 30 minutes to several hours depending upon the size of the hard drive. After formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Now complete the OS X installation.

Now when syncing any of the multiple devices (ipods,ipads, iphones) that we have with my mac book, itunes states that "an error occurred" or the "app cannot be found". Itunes wants me to erase the device and sync with my macbook. The message "The iPhone “Renee’s iPhone” is synced with another iTunes library on “Renee PC”. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."appears.

u can give try to using external enclosre and backup ur files. I hope u will get files back. or using external enclosre with ur hdd boot into Linux and try to mount ur harddisk.
there are multiple no of tutorial to mount apple partion in Linux.

Search for them in Finder.
If not already set, open Finder Preferences and set it to search the current folder (Advanced tab).
Select the top-most folder you wish to search and type word into the search field.
Select Word Document from the provided tokens.
You should get a list of all your Word Document. You can do with them whatever you like from those search results.

To get all the types, you can add multiple kinds to a search.
In Finder, type Cmd-f
In the row with Kind selected, hold down the Option key and click the button that has the ellipsis in it (…)--it was the + button.
Add rows and change the to Kind is Other and enter the Microsoft document “kinds"
Delete the first criteria row above the Any list

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to create a document based on a predefined template.
When we create a predefined template, actually the template is bound to the content type, we can retrieve it using its url.
web.Lists[YourList].ContentTypes[yourContentTypeId].DocumentTemplateUrl
Then we can retrieve the predefined template as an SPFile, and use the
OpenBinary() method to get the byte[].
