Project lifecyle management in JDEV.

What about Project lifecyle management in JDEV.
I means project menagement tools, team development, code sharing (check in check out etc), task management, code quality management, code change management,
There are some extention but I means oracle own supported tools.
Is there any complete documentation about that. (I can't find)
Is there any future plan (11g or later)

As you said JDeveloper integrates with multiple code management tools.
but I means especially Project management beggining with requirement analyze to the test and deployment.
All of the activities are coordinated by a task management system.

    Hi,
    I work at a Espresso Bars company in Sydney and we have a small but busy Design & Marketing department.  We're looking for the best, yet simplest software so we can manage all the marketing and design projects.
    I've seen a few good Online Management Software but they are quite expensive ($25+ per month per user).  The good thing about those systems is that you can access it from anywhere and people can collaborate, ask questions about a project, give feedback about a design, enter a new task or tick as completed, etc... And you can use it on an iMac, an iPad and an iPhone.
    I came across Projector for iMac and iPad, but it is not online, if you want to share the project from iMac to iPad you have to conect your iPad to your computer and sync it.  It also works by projects, so there is no way for you to see in a single screen all the projects you're currently working on and the process of them.  So, although it being very user friendly and excellent UI, not sure if it is what we want.
    I wanted to ask you if you know about another Project/Task Management Software that we can use on an iMac, iPad and perhaps and iPhone as well.  Something that you either buy the app once or if you have to pay a monthly fee it needs to be very low.  If it is online it would be much better! but everything would work I reckon.
    User friendly and good UI software are preferred.

  • Down payment for vendor with Project cash management

    Dear all experts,
    could you help me on the following issue?
    i am working on a capital project, and all the POs are paid with down payment and partial payments.
    we will activate FM to use project cash management.
    i guess it may help.
    but i never do the down payment and partial payments in PS before. i have no idea about it.
    can someone tell me the steps in details such as process or T-code for transaction or report.

    i think it is necessary to do the invoicing plan.
    in the project, i assgin the material to the internal activity, run MRP and the PR generates.
    but i can not do the invoice plan for the material. the procurement type for this material is F.
    the message is as follows,
    Invoicing plan only for externally procured components
    Message no. CN251
    Diagnosis
    You can only maintain an invoicing plan for general cost activities, external activities and externally procurred components.
    i checked the SAP notes, but it is not right for ECC 6.0.
    and then,  i assign the materials to the external activity, and do the invoice plan for the material, but the same message appears again.
    but i can do the invoice plan for the external activity.
    if i can not do the invoice plan for the assigned material, how can i do the down payment?
    please give me some suggestions.

  • CJIA report and project cash management

    Dear all,
    please help on the following issue.
    i activate FM for project cash managment.
    i assign material to the internal activity, release the project, run project MRP and convert the PR to PO.
    then i run CJIA report, i can see the PO with value type 51, PO amount 40000.
    below is the line item
    2009.11.11     WBS I-0001   51     4,000.00-RMB     4,000.00-RMB
    i do MIGO for the PO. and check the CJIA report, no change.
    i do MIRO for the PO and then check the report, i see the PO (value type 41)value is reduced to 0.
    another line with value type 54 appears with the amount 40000.

    i think that is correct, because i do the MIRO for the PO.
    next, i use F-53 to post the payment for PO. i check the report, no change.
    then, i run CJFN to transfer the payment. i check the report again, the line with value type 54 was changed to value type 57.

    i am not sure whether it is correct or not. in the report,  it seems the balance is not zero. though the value type is changed.

    Hi Judy,
    What you have done is correct.
    The total of all lines need not be zero as the report lists down the debit/credit side payments viz what we are supposed to pay due to a PR, or a PO or what are the actual payments that we have made. This helps us in planning for cashflows by showing projected or actual payments made/received

  • Project Server 2013 for Resource Planning & Project Portfolio Management

    We are looking to  use project server 2013 for resource and project portfolio management.  We are an IT department of approximately 600 growing to 1,000 within the next several years.
    We would like to us PS2013 to do the following :
    Manage Portfolio of Projects
    Manage Resources against this Portfolio
    Calculate Project Finances using resource roles and rates
    I would be grateful to have both comments on experience , both positive and negative.

    Many teams within organizations are turning to Project Server to help them control resources, deliverables and costs better.    It does resource management very well with work & cost resources, baseline costs, material costs, budget costs and
    out of the box earned value analysis (EV).  The Strategy (portfolio) component is very powerful and it will help you identify project that align to your objects then do what if analysis to find the right mix of projects.
    Here are a couple of things you should think about when moving to PS2013:
    1) Who will be using the tool?  If it is a mix of onsite staff, remote staff, vendors, contractors etc. you may want to think about a hosted solution.
    2) Training.  Don't assume everyone will just magically 'know' how to use the tool.  Train everyone (team members, PMs, Executives) then train them again.  It's the only way to truly get the value out of the tool.
    3) Who will manage the system?  This is not a typical application.  The right administrator needs SharePoint, Project Server, SQL Server,  MS Project, Analysis Services and SQL Report writing skills.  Please note that much of this can
    be learned by the right person but DEFINITELY find the right person.
    4) Don't start customizing right out of the box.  You will get frustrated.  Adjust your organization to the tool early on.  I know that is easier said than done but you need a realistic approach to get tool acceptance moving early.  
    5) Use workflows but don't use them right out of the gate.  Workflows are great but I suggest you wait until phase 2 or 3 to start aligning them to your business processes.  
    6) Lastly and most importantly, you must first establish your own business processes THEN  align them to the tool.  DO NOT assume the tool will create business process for you.  You must think about how you are going to initiate a project,
    how are you going to track deliverables, how will time sheets be managed, etc.  Get to a whiteboard, crack open Visio and start building and establishing your processes now.  PS 2013 is pretty flexible and usually will align well with existing business
    processes.
    And don't forget to hire a good consultant.  They can be brought in during key phases of your roll-out to add value, help you avoid risks, and provide you with best practice advice.

    Assuming you are going for P6 r8.3 EPPM and currently have absolutely nothing deployed the order I would recommend would be.
    1) Install Windows 2008 R2 SP1
    2) Install SQL Server 2008R2 SP1 (express edition is not officially supported for a server deployment)
    3) Install Sun JDK 1.7u15 (64bit) (set the JAVA _HOME Vartiable)
    4) Install Weblogic 12.1.1
    5) Apply patch 16176831 to weblogic
    6) Create the 8.3 EPPM database
    7) Install P6 8.3 EPPM
    8) Configure and start Weblogic

    I am not aware, that you can hook LabVIEW to tools like bug tracing databases in a native way.
    What you can do is performing that link in a context of requirements management. Use NI Requirements Gateway for this functionality.

    There is not transaction to display the PS cash document. You have to navigate from the original document,  which generate the PS cash document, e.g. FI document, to the PS cashdocument.

  • Project Cash Management Document after MIRO

    I have activated PS Cash Management by doing the following config.
    1.Create FM
    2.Assign FM to Co.Code
    3.Create Commitment Item
    4.OPI6
    5. OPI4
    I noticed that Project Cash Management document is not created every time i do MIRO.
    Any config /set up i missed out?

    Check the table RPSCO and see if you can find an entry for value type 54 against the relevant OBJNR. CJIA will show you Actual payment line items and these will appear once you have run F-53. In order to see this data in Project Cash management i.e. COFP table, you need to run CJFN for the respective accounting document.
    Ideally, once you do MIRO the same appears in the COFP table as an entry with value type 54. Are you able to see this entry? If not, maybe you need to reconstruct the Project cash Management data for actual postings that have happened from the MM perspective.
    To know more about reconstruction of PS Cash Management go through the note 551980. Personally, i would suggest you to go through this note thoroughly before performing any reconstruction activity.

    We are implementing Oracle projects for one of our customers. The customer does not want to implement Project Resource Management module. Is it possible to assign resources to a project or create a new requirement using the Resources tab in Project screen (HTML page) without implementing the Project Resource Management module.     With Project Management you can assign resources to the work plan. Resources might be named people or generic resource by job.
    You can track planned hours by resource versus actual time worked, You can look at roll-up of planned hours across multiple projects for the same resource, or summarization of planned and actual hours using the RBS.
    However, you will not get the functionality of demand published to resource managers, and the search functionality for available person to join the requiring project.

    This module is integrated with Oracle HRMS.

    I have made it past creating config and project setting panels as jdev extension. My question is how can I read the config data when the project panel is displayed? 1) I would like to use the config data as default when the project is first created and/or 2) the panel extension is first accessed.     The problem is that I need a functionmodule that can apply the OLAP aggregation for a hierarchy to the data outpu from RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ_RFC.
    ... or the best alternative would be if there were a fm/class that could provide me with the hierarchy aggregation of the data.

    Hi all,
    I am setting up a few spreadsheets for next year's students projects and I was wondering if it possible to use the charts to show start and end dates for individual projects.
    At the moment the chart always starts at zero and goes up to a set value. Is there a way to have a bar in a chart start above "zero"?
    And slightly off-topic, any recommendations for a simple project/time management?
    Something that would allow me to set up a grid (by week) and have bars (projects) start and stop at certain times? Something like MS Project, but simple and free would be a bonus
