Project never finishes distribution build process ... why not?

I've got an app all done that I can Build and Go fine in Device | Debug mode for my touch. It takes perhaps 15 seconds to build in debug (48 source files) and then another 5-8 to actually get pushed onto the touch. Using my development certification of course.
But then, I hit Build after correctly(?) setting up my distribution settings and certificate and set to (Device | Distribution), the same app gets through all 48 source files in the Build Results window, and then never completes the build, even after running for more than an hour. I do not have my device connected because, of course, the distribution provisioning profile is grayed out anyway.
The Activity Window says ... performing "build" on "appname" and then a smaller line stating Compiling ..... with the name of the very last source at the end of the long string. But it never completes even after hours.
Can anyone tell me what's possibly going or what settings I've messed up so I can actually get this thing built and submitted?
Many thanks!

I'm also going to try a couple of other things and will post the results ...
Try compiling just the last file to see if it even builds correctly at all. If it doesn't compile, I'll try commenting out one function at a time, and recompile. I will also, per another thread here, set the "Code Signing Identity" for the project build settings to "iPhone Distribution" and leave the "Code Signing Provisioning Profile" set to "Default Provisioning Profile for Code Signing Identity".
For the target build settings, set the "Code Signing Identity" to "iPhone Distribution: <my distribution cert name>" and select your distribution provisioning profile for "Code Signing Provisioning Profile".
It seems to compile all of the app (after doing a show package contents) except the executable app itself.

  • When I sync my ipod touch or iphone 4s the final step in the process never finishes. Anyone know why?  I already unistalled and re-installed itunes.

When I sync my Itouch 5 or Iphone 4s the changes do not apply and the itunes gets stuck in a loop.  Any ideas?  Already re-installed Itunes.

What itunes is asking is would you like to import the files and settings of your ipod to your iphone? It'll import things like contacts, calendar, mail, apps with app data.  If you want your phone set up just like your ipod then use that option.  Otherwise pick "set up as a new device" and it'll allow you to keep the two seperate and you will be able to sync them both to your itunes independently of each other.

  • Scheduled finish date for process orders not updating in BW

We are having problems with the scheduled finish date (GLTRS) for process orders. When the process order is already released, changes done in R/3 on the scheduled finish date will not result to a delta hence data in BW is not updated. Table AFKO, where data is coming from, is always updated with the changes though. 2LIS_04_P_MATNR is used in extracting the data.
Has anyone experienced the same problem? We are looking for possible ways on how to have a delta whenever there are changes on the process order even after it is already released.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Hi Donna,
If I've understood your problem correctly, you can increase the load frequency as Sriee has pointed out.
If you want latest data frequently and if you are on BI 7.0 then you can look at Real Time Data Acquisition(RDA)

  • Git CI/CD w/ Default Build Process Template does not build all Projects in Solution?

    Good evening,
I have a VSO hosted git based project that hosts a Azure Cloud Service, particularly one VS solution (.sln) that contains the Azure Cloud Service project (.ccproj), the Web Role .csproj, some auxiliary projects (again .csproj) and one (MS)Test project (again
.csproj). All these .csproj are enabled to be build in both Release and Debug configs (everything's Any CPU).
Now inside Azure I did link the corresponding Azure Cloud Service to that VSO project, Azure/Vso did prepare the _CI (or was it _CD?) build definition with the
GitContinuousDeploymentTemplate12.xaml selected and in general deployment works perfectly fine
    BUT
.. but the problem is that I really don't know how to solve after hours of fiddling - the *.Tests is not built and therefore no tests are fond and run.. and I wonder why. More precisely, none of the projects that are not referenced by the Cloud Service's Web
Role (it's the only role atm for the CS) are actually built.
Not sure whether this is a Cloud Service build thing or one of the Git Build Template, but how and where can I make sure all projects inside the selected .sln (see screenshot) ARE actually built as defined in the selected/defined Solution config? What's going
    on here?
    Thanks,
    -Jörg
Here's my local view in combination with the build / process definition. As you can see the .tests.dll IS built as part of Release & AnyCpu for the .sln, but when running the build on VSO (& downloading the drop folder), it is NOT included/built..
looking at the logs also reveals that the *.tests.csproj is NOT built.

    Good Morning!
thanks for the reply but unfortunately I cannot reference the Test Project from the CS Web Role as this is the very same project the Test Project actually contains tests for and circular dependencies (Test > Web Role Project and > back to the Test
    Project is not possible).
The logs themselves just reflect the observed behaviour: they do not mention or contain the .Tests.csproj at all (or the other projects not referenced directly by the Web Role) and even though the selected solution does contain these projects, strangely
the first few lines in the msbuild log are:
    Build started 1/7/2015 12:03:49 AM.Project "C:\a\src\Sources\Backend\Backend.sln" on node 1 (MyProject_Backend:Publish target(s)).
    ValidateSolutionConfiguration:
    Building solution configuration "Release|Any CPU".
    Project "C:\a\src\Sources\Backend\Backend.sln" (1) is building "C:\a\src\Sources\Backend\MyProject.Backend\MyProject.Backend.ccproj" (2) on node 1 (Publish target(s)).
..so why is it only or specifically picking up the Azure Cloud Service .ccproj / project as the only buildable target & why not what's specified in the Solution? What's the whole point of tests if they are for some odd reason dropped?
Strangely enough, this only appears to be happening with the GIT template - I had this project originally in TFVC and did the same thing - linked from Azure to that TFVC project (same solution) and with that particular build template it
did build & run the tests.
Any ideas / suggestions or if you need any more specifics, please let me know.
    Thanks!

  • Flash Pro CC AIR for Android Publish Never Finishes

I am having so much trouble with the new CC flash pro. Simply, it does not publish to devices - at all.
I was able to get the proper driver so that Flash Pro recognises my device (which was a challenge in itself). Now, when I go to publish it never finishes. Apparently they removed the timer from the publish window - a bad choice IMO because now I'm going to be waiting hours for it to finish when it actually has frozen.
On android, the "Publishing..." box comes up and never goes away. There are no errors. It just simply does not work when I push the publish button, any of them. I have no idea what the problem could be or how I am supposed to fix this so any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

I'm having the same problem with Flash CC on Mac OS 10.8.5 using AIR 3.6 and 3.9 beta sdks publishing to Android.
Essentially Flash CC builds the apk just fine then hangs at 00:05 when it should be installing the apk to the device.
In looking at Activity Monitor I noticed I had two adb processes launched which could be part of the problem.
I then tried publishing through Flash CC but installing on devices via the command line when I've now run into another error:
    $ adb install Untitled-1.apk
    1311 KB/s (9427446 bytes in 7.021s)
              pkg: /data/local/tmp/Untitled-1.apk
    Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES]
Apparently the apk isn't signed despite including my certificate in the publishing settings (along with the password) and the publishing process finishing without error.
An unsigned APK will not install on devices, which *could* be related to the problem of Flash CC never finishing publishing when 'install on device(s)' is selected in the publishing options. If Flash CC is waiting for a 'success' event to be fired from adb it may simply never be receiving one and therefore never finishing the publishing process… (just speculating).
Also, this is happening with *ANY* FLA I try to publish to Android.

  • Time machine never finishes a backup on macbook air

    Hello
After setting up my Goflex NAS couple of days ago ,my macbookair and macbook pro both showed goflex external for time machine option and asked me if i want to do my time machine backup on that external drive which i answered yes  and they both started to do the time machine backup on that drive. As for the macbook pro 15 which is on osx lion ,everything went fine and the backups did as smooth as possible on the schuduale.for macbook air was totally different .it is running on osx lion also .but it will not ever finish up any backups .the only time that it did finish the backup was the first time ,but even for that one ,when i open the time machine window from system pref. it shows the oldest backup none and the latest backup none. i just left it on automatic backup .it will automatically start the backup but never finishes the backup process and i have  to shut down the computer in order to stop the bad process.does anybody has a solution for this.
    thanks in advance.
    mike

In addition to jochen2d you can try this, albeit, requiring much more effort.
Live partition your external HD and make a 2nd partition of about 10-12 GB, call it installer. Then eject the hard drive.
Plug in your DVD drive, put in the installation disc. Fire up Disk Utility and make a new image with the DVD as your source material. Once this is done you'll have a disk image on your Desktop (or wherever you decided to save it). You'll then to scan the image for restore.
Once this is done, eject the disc and then unplug the external drive.
Plug the USB drive back in, and open up Disk Utility again (if you closed it).
Select the install partition you created and then click on the restore tab. Your source is the .dmg of the installation disc you created and your target is the install partition you created.
When this is done you can now run the installer partition and have an exact replica of the DVD installation media with your backup accessible.
Or as jochen2d recommended, you could go out and buy a $29 powered USB hub.

  • Determining previous TFS 2013/2013 Build Process Template

I am looking at previous builds in TFS 2012 using a custom Build Process Template, and while it is easy to determine what template will be used for my Next build, how do I determine what was used on a previous build?  Example:  TeamA builds ProjectA
using TemplateA.  Then they say something was not correct, and they switch to a new TemplateB.  I can see TemplateB in their configuration, but need to make changes to TemplateA (it has custom hooks already in place for other things that are needed).
How do I determine what TemplateA was?  It is not in any of the ActivityLogs or in their Build Logs.  Just for the sake of argument, assume that there are 100s of build process templates, not easy to determine which was originally used.

    Hi Rob,
    Thanks for your post.
Yes, the build template name information not be included/generated in TFS build log or
ActivityLogs. If there’s something was not correct in TemplateA, we usually edit on this TemplateA and save it TFS Source Control, then reusing it in build definition.
As far as I know there’s no default way to determine which previous build templates be used in one build definition before. For this scenario, please
submit it to User Voice site at: http://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio. Microsoft engineers will evaluate them seriously.

I am writing a Unit Test case in which i need to create a datasource and bind it to RMI registry so that the methods i need to test can get a database connection . The problem is that after the test cases have finished running the process does not end and i have to shut it down manually . • CVI2013 f1: how to cancel build process?

    Solved!

    Hello Wolfgang!
Yes, my answer to vix's initial question was basically the same as your's: the 'Cancel Build' menu item from the Build menu.
As of CVI 2013, the build process is not longer blocking the ADE UI anymore, so users can operate the CVI ADE independent of the currently running build process. Hence, the modal dialog from CVI 2012 has been removed. Because the dialog was removed, we moved the ability to cancel the current build over to the CVI ADE menu, amoung the other menu items related to the build process (e.g. Build, Rebuild, Batch Build...). However, we didn't want to modify the behavior of the STOP button, because it's main purpose has been closely targeted towards controlling the execution state of a debugged program. If we have changed it's behavior, we would also have to change it's naming, i.e. currently 'Terminate Execution' toolbar button.

  • HT1386 Why do the songs I buy through iTunes never finish processing?

This has been very frustrating. If I purchase a song through iTunes on my phone, it never finishes processing. I've tried changing settings, turning it off and on again, and yet I can still see the songs available when I log into iTunes under "music I've purchase but is not on this phone." Any ideas on how I can get the songs to finish processing and available to play?
If I buy a song through iTunes and try to play it in iTunes, it doesn't work. If I buy a song through Amazon, it works fine. I would buy everything through Amazon except it doesn't have all the same songs.
All I want to do is listen to one song that I've paid for and it seems to be nearly impossible. Why is this so difficult?

I'm having this exact problem now with an iPhone 4 (not the 4S) and running software 6.1.3 with iTunes version 11.0.4.4. - The songs play fine in iTunes. In some instances I brought in the songs from CDs, in other instances I purchased from the iTunes store meaning I can't simply convert them. In either way they play silence on my iPhone around halfway through and for the remainder of the track.
I have attempted a full restore from a backup, and then reloaded all of my music, same songs, same problem. I don't feel a manual restore would help because that means reprogramming every single app, and the music would be reloaded the same way so what difference could that make?
Just to add insult to injury my protection plan ran out about 2 weeks ago and my phone otherwise works fine, so this can't possibly be worth purchasing another pricey plan just to be allowed to TALK to Apple.

    Hi
The DVD get's unbalanced = Laser can't read track
DVD are several times more sencitive than CD (not advicable to put lables on them either)
And DVDs/CDs that are unbalanced also give more strain to the player mechanism

  • Hosted Build Controller does not build test project when using GitContinuousDeploymentTemplate.12.xaml

So basically my unittest project using mspec is not even built and copied to the outputfolder even though I build the sln file. This happens only if I put in a azure deployment environment in the build. It works with exactly the same parameters if I just
remove the azure deployment parameter in the same template. I really don't get why it's impossible to run unit tests and fail the build before deploying to staging. Is it supposed to be like this?

    Hi Espen,
I would like to know what you mean when you say "put in a Azure deployment environment in the build", and whether you have run a post script during the build process. Please give out more details about your scenario, or share you build log here. You can
check whether it's build fine locally by using MSBuild or build directly with Visual Studio.
Maybe you can check whether the Azure environment has the right version of mspec test adapter. Or use Nuget package restore feature to include the needed files in your solution before building. If the build related to hosted build controller, you can configure
an on-premise build controller for VSO. See this
    thread for more information.

By Azure deployment variable I mean "Windows Azure Deployment Environment" variable which you can configure under the Process tab after rightclicking the build definition and clicked "Edit build definition" in Visual Studio.
I actually figured out what was wrong though. When "Windows Azure Deployment Environment" is set, the build target is set to <your_azure_project>:Publish. This target probably only builds the projects useful for that particular project, hence the unittest
project is not built. I fixed the issue by adding a msbuild argument under 2.Build->5.Advanced->MSBuild arguments. I had to set it to "/t <your_azure_project>:Publish;Build" and all worked well. Notice the order of the targets though. If I used
Build first, the whole build failed with some error trying to some virtual web folder. Also, <your_azure_project> is not entirely correct. At least for me it's named like My.Azure.Project, but the build target is My_Azure_Project.
I don't really know if it's supposed to be this way, but it looks to me like a small bug in the template at least.
