Project sample

Dear All,
Upon visiting an Apple Store and being shocked by the beauty of Final Cut Pro X running on a Retina Display ... i came home and downloaded Final Cut Pro X (i have a Mac Book Pro Retina Display) to my surprise that the project Demo is not there !!! i downloaded additional content and is not there either ... am i being stupid or what? if not  :-) where is this fantastic project of racing cars ... i think it was about the the Audi or something like that?
Can anyone help please

FCPX doesn't come with that footage.  It is just the app.  You need to provide your own footage.
That footage is part of their in-store demo...and what they used to demo it to people at trade shows.

  • How to pack all used in project samples into one folder?

i have lots of samples in various folders in my hdds, but when i work on a project i don't remember where i get it from, i just use it and forget about it. but i want to put all copies of used in my logic project samples into one folder for don't delete them in the future or to share all that folder to my friend and he can open it without missing ones. just something like battery kits savings. how to do that?
    any thoughts will be appreciated

    Go to Save as...
At the bottom of the window is the Include Assets box. Tick it.
Click on Advanced options. Here you choose to which assets to include within the project folder.
wth existing projects, open them go to File : Project : Consolidate project

  • HOW CAN I GET ORACLE DEMO PROJECT, SAMPLE PROJECTS.....

how can i get oracle sample projects on forms and reports...........
give me the link so i can download it and look at it how it works
    thanks

You're looking for Microsoft Access. Try www.microsoft.com.
Using Oracle Forms requires an Oracle database instance. It is client-server architecture. It is not a matter of merely downloading example-install.exe, installing it, and being on your way looking at "how everything works".
That is what you are seemingly expecting. And in that case, you do not want to use Oracle. You want to use a mickey mouse little file based database tool like MS Access.

  • Project sample rate vs the audio interface clock

I used Audition for digitizing archival audio and I mostly work in 96 kHz because it's the current archival standard for analog audio, however I occasionally need to transfer DAT or ADAT tapes at 44.1 or 48 kHz. One thing I noticed when I went to change the project format was that my audio interface clock did not change and match the multitrack settings. I was able to change the clock manually but I had to go to the Audio Hardware preferences.
I find this behavior for a DAW very strange. If I have a multitrack open of one bit rate and my clock set to another, how does that work? How does Audition 6 play and record audio at differnt sample rates than the interface clock? When I open a multitrack that's 96 kHz and my clock is set to 48, what sample rate am I getting? The audio file being saved says 96 kHz but is it?

If true, this is indeed strange. I have used just about every DAW under the sun for the last 10 years based on what my employer purchased and I have never seen a DAW allow you to record sample rates where the project didn't match the incoming clock.
There should be an option that locks the audio interface internal clock to the opened project. It makes it annoying any time I have to switch between recording in 96 kHz to 48 kHz. That's annoying on it's own right, but what's really annoying is that it's an extra step that I have to train our archival technicians who don't have a techical background in audio.
I can definitely say it's true for my set-up!
Surely, the "extra step" you refer to is not necessary if AA is resampling the audio to match the desired sample rate?
As for the "option" to "lock the audio interface clock to the opened project", for those cards, like mine, which cannot have their sample rate changed by the audio software, how is that going to work?  I suspect this was how AA CS5.5 and earlier worked: unless session/project and interface sample rate matched, no audio.  I much prefer the current "resampling" method; no necessity to have to think about soundcard/interface settings every time a different sample rate is being used.
FWIW, if I want to record something at 44.1 I always ensure the card and AA settings are 44.1; but for "playback" (or video editing which I do quite a lot of and which requires 48 - my video editor software will not "play" unless the audio sampling rate of the card is 48 - ) 48 is my "default" setting.

  • Best way to make a 44.1 project into 48.k

Hey all, i've been using recording my own projects in Logic Pro 9, or transferring over from Pro Tools.  However, i've made the mistake of not checking the project sample rate on some projects only to find out that they were in 44.1.  And i want all projects at 48.
Since the tempo has changed on some tracks, among other areas, i will need to fix all of these issues and try and get them to a 48K final project.
Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to achieve this ?
    Appreciate any replies

If you started the project in Logic at 44.1k, then do as Juhani suggests.
But if you have transferred a project from ProTools which was at 48k and is now at 44.1k, presumably Logic converted it during the transfer. There should have been a warning to tell you this was happening. Anyway, if the files have already been converted from 48 to 44.1, I would not be recommending converting them back to 48. Better options would be to either re-import the files at 48k after changing Logic to 48 in the project settings, (which would have implications for changes made since the import), or to continue in 44.1 and convert the mix at bouncedown.
Bummer either way. You can't really hear a sample rate conversion too much, but if you do it twice, I bet that you would find something indefinable but unsatisfactory about the sound.

  • Sample Tank 2.5 crashing Logic Express 8

I'm trying to open my latest project which I've had no prolems with until now.
When I try to open it I get the spinning color wheel and then notification that
Logic has quit.  It tells me that there may be a problem with the Sample Tank plug ins.
Yet, when I open a new project Sample Tank works fine.  Any ideas what is going on?
Im using a Macbook Pro with 10.5.8.
    Thanks,
    Michael

Thank you. Does that mean I just need the serial number for my 5.5 version to upgrade?

  • Slow Playback Adobe Audition CS5.5 - not sample rate setting error!

I'm currently using Windows 7 and Adobe Audition CS5.5 build 1815. Soundcard is RME Digi96 Pad. Ok its an old card and the drivers date from 2005. In Adobe 3.1 and CS5.5  I get slow, around half speed, playback at 44k and 96k sample rates. YES the project sample rates and sound card sample rates are set correctly, clock is set to master on the soundcard.
However, in using Cockos Reaper 3 or 4 on exactly the same computer, same soundcard, same OS, I can play 44k and 96k wav files perfectly.
This suggests to me there is an error in the way Adobe Audition 3 / CS5.5 is handling the ASIO drivers in Windows 7 with some soundcards.
If it was a driver problem, or indeed a soundcard hardware issue, then Reaper would not perform properly.
So what's going on with the ASIO drivers in Adobe Audition with Windows 7?

I have two XLR wireless mics, which are great for my video work, but I need to do audio recordings for podcasts and wanted a mic that would be able to do just audio podcasts, as well as video podcasts, live via my laptop. So while I do agree that the audio recording from my XLR mics is great, I am not happy with the audio quality of standard computer mics I've tried and the only way I can get my XLR mics into the computer directly is through a USB connector (which I also have, I'm getting the Yeti set-up for my business partner to use).
Maybe Audition just isn't the best software option for this, but since we have CS6 Premium I had hoped I could utilize software I already had. (And for the live video casts I'm looking at starting out with Google hangouts...)
With that being said, I appreciate your reply and thought I had already set-up the hardware correctly in Windows & Audition. Here is a screenshot that shows the settings I have - my question at this point is whether the master clock needs to be changed (the audio channel mapping tab shows the left and right speaker of the default Realtek speaker):
I just double checked the properties of both the speakers and mic and they are both set to 48,000/16/stereo, as is the audio file in Audition.
I'm a journalist, not an audio pro, and I fully accept that the sound device must not be properly connected. The problem is that I cannot figure out why that is the case.
Since I need to use the USB mic and I want to be able to use the power of Audition to put together podcasts, using other software for the livecasts, I would really like to sort through this. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

  • Importing 16 bit file into 24 bit project

    Whats up guy's
When importing a 16 bit file into a 24 bit project
should I convert the file to 24 bits or keep the
    original 16 bit depth?
I'm aware that the sample rate is converted to the
projects sample rate when importing files as long as
the corresponding checkbox is enabled in the project
    settings - assets pane.
I'm also aware that conversion can be done at a later
state after importing, but I'm curious about the best
or proper approach. Should this be done prior to importing
or should the file be kept in it's original state (16 bits)?
PS - If you could provide the chapter or page of the manual
this information is on that would be extremely helpful.
    Thnx in advance

    Qstn wrote:
When you say "alter the file's sample data" are you referring to
edits done in the sample editor or sample rate conversion?
both would qualify. there are some corner cases where bit depth does not matter when destructively editing sample data (as I outlined in my initial post).
If you're talking about the sample editor do you mean converting by
saving a copy as 24 bits and making edits to the copy might show tiny
    improvements?
    yes.
At this moment I don't intend on destructively editing the file but
you never know how processing and mixing might go until your done.
ok. if your file is read and processed in realtime (or via a frozen track) then there's no loss - logic will convert audio samples during playback to a 32 floating point representation as it is read from disk, before it enters the mixer, or is processed by your plugins.
i'm not sure if source bit depth determines bounce in place format- if so, and if you use this feature, then you should convert the source to 24 bit.
the end point is: unless you are desperate for disk space, just convert it to 24 bits. 16 bits is very 'last millennium' in modern production stages - there are a few exceptions to that (e.g., if the files are used by a software sampler, or if the format is required for compatibility with other hardware or software) but... most of the strong arguments for 16 bit died years ago. so, i'd say it's best to consider 24 bits as the minimum during production unless you have very specific reasons to go below that (and you fully understand the tradeoffs). if you want to know the 'whys', that's fine, of course. curiosity and knowledge don't hurt. if you're only looking for a recommendation, that's my recommendation.

  • Am I missing something - automatic sample rate conversion?

    SETTING
    Logic Express Version: 9.1.6
Project Sample Rate: 96kbps (shown in the Transport Bar)
File > Project Settings > Assets tab: "Convert audio file sample rate when importing" option is selected
    LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!
When I importa a file via File > Import Audio File or dragging & dropping an audio file the sample rate is converted to 44.1kbps.
Is this a known bug, or will I need to dig deeper to find the error in my ways?
    cheers

ah ha - eye, brain & fingers not all in sync. that is 44.1 kHz.

  • 96 KHZ Project. IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE?

    Hi!
I use a G5 dual 1.8, 2Gb RAM, a second SATA Drive (used to audio and sample files), and a Lacie Big 400 (used to Ivory and DFH library), M-Audio Midisport 8X8 USB Interface, and MOTU 24 I/O audio interface.
For the first time, I tried out a 96Kz project, and believe me, using only one audio instrument (EVB3), I had some clicks and pops present at the organ sound. I've opened the system perfomance metter, and with only one key stroke, I get it in the middle of one processor. The more notes I hit, more noise is present at the sound (Yes, I checked the MOTU and Logic's levels. It's just fine). To be sure about it, I changed the project sample rate back to 48Kz, and the noise desapered.
Do I have some trouble with my system, or isn't a G5 dual 1.8 suficient to run a 96Kz project with (for example) 30 audio files and 4 or 5 audio instruments?
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you
    Tovinho

You probably need to increase your buffer size - yes it will increase the latency but the clicks and pops will go away.
I believe that latency cuts in half when going from 48k to 96k sample rate, so you should be able to double your buffer size with no problem.

  • Re-opening a STP Multitrack Project after exporting Mixdown to FCP

    Hello-
I'm running Soundtrack Pro 2.0.2 with FCP 6.0.5 and am sending my sequences from the timeline to an STP Multitrack Project. I have edited the audio as needed, and exported the final mixed tracks back to FCP choosing .xml import and open in a new FCP Sequence for my options. The new sequence opens fine, complete with the new audio tracks lined up with the originals which are conveniently muted. Up until this point in my workflow, I'm good to go, and my exported audio sounds great - until I realized there were several more audio edits that I needed to make before finalizing the project.
Now, in the STP Manual, it states that to re-open a multitrack project after it has been exported to FCP is as simple as control-clicking the "mixdown" file (which is presumably the same thing as the imported .xml file...?) in the open sequence and clicking "Open in Editor." (Note: I do have my prefs in FCP set to STP for ext. audio AND video editors so that I can send over linked a/v files) BUT - it also says that when you click on "Open in Editor" that i should be prompted with the option to open only the audio file or open the project. After following these steps, I am not getting prompted to make this choice; the mixdown automatically opens itself in STP as the single .aiff audio file created during export and not as the original multitrack project, as the manual suggests.
Am I making a careless mistake somewhere in here that I am overlooking? Have I provided enough information to get the help that I need? Any help here would be EXTREMELY appreciated.
    -Meghan

There is a mismatch somewhere which is causing this sync problem.
Next thing to try - does your STP project sample rate match the sample rate of the audio in your FCP project?
In the STP project, on the projects tab, is "none" selected in the pullup/pulldown section, both audio and video?
In some cases, changing a frame rate can change the speed of the video, causing sync problems, so the earlier discussion about frame rates wasn't just semantics or terminology issues. I understand your frustration, but I was trying to help by ruling frame rate problems out.

  • Multiple targets in a Sun Studio 12 project

    Hello,
I want to create a new sunstudio12 project which contains more than one target, for example a static library libmylib.a and an executable for test purposes (for example test_mylib.exe). Is that possible and how is it done?
    Best regards,
    Enrico Lippert

Could you please take a look at the sample project "HelloApp"?
    (From main menu: File->New Project->Samples->Applications->HelloApp)
The "HelloApp" sample project creates a construction similar to what you need:
Main project "HelloApp" depends on 2 projects: "hello1lib", "hello2lib".
    Libraries can be build independently.
If you build the main project, it checks if the libraries are up to date,
    and then link with them.
Try to use the same solution and let us know if it works or does not work for you.

  • Re. Is a 192kHz sample rate via TOSlink available on all current Mac's?

I'm looking for a music server that will output audio at a sample rate of 192kHz via TOSlink (optical digital), the only device I'm aware of that supports 192kHz is the late 2013 MBPR.
Could someone please tell me the sample rate of the TOSlink output on all of the current iMac's, Mac mini's &  MacBooks?
    Thank you.

1- Start a new thread for this as it is completely unrelated (and what are the files?)
2- Same, but close enough, if you highlite PCM, there should be a drop down menu with AIFF as an option.
3- There probably is a difference, but you can't tell because it's a non-musical event. When you first drag the airlock sound, it should have asked you if you want to change your project to 48, because that is what that sample is.
So you chose to keep the project at 44, then changed to 48. Try this: Place the playhead at the very end of the region, and make a note of the time. Change your project sample rate. Now you can confirm that the region is playing faster/slower. Or bounce one of each at 44/16 and then import them into a new project.

  • Creating Dependencies Between Projects

I have one project which generates a shared library. I have another project which depends on this shared library. I add the library project as a dependency through the linker library property panel and attempt to build the project. This fails.
It builds the library fine, then compiles the application project, then fails upon linking due to:
/home/bensteinm/SunStudio12_RRT/rrtutilities/dist/Debug/Sun12-Linux-x86: file not recognized: Is a directory
Even though the linker property looks fine, it fails to link with the above message. Below is the command issued to link. I have added all of the current patches and this still happens. Am I doing something wrong?

I have even added the exact location of the library. Through the project property add library file. But when I try to run the application it states, ./dist/Debug/Sun12-Linux-x86/prep_pfps_v30.x: error while loading shared libraries: librrtutilities.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
