Can anyone tell me where have we to create the project version to record the Snapshot.

Hi Stephen,
You can create versions manually in cProjects application itself. You'll find a 'Versions' tab at the header level where you would need to create a version master first.
Once the version master is created, you can create Project Versions. Alternatively, use report DPR_SNAPSHOTS_CREATE to create versions automatically by schduling a background job.

Can someone explain what is project version and its functionality. Can this be controlled with status flow of Projects. For example, In status flow, when PM changes to Update status an new version of project shoud be created.
Can this be possible in cProjects as standard functionality.

There are two types of versions in project management
1. Project versions: Typically used for reporting the state of a project at a given time. Yes it is possible to automatically generate a version based trigger on a project.
2. Simulation version : this is typically used to simulate a project. At times the cost planning, effort estimates needs to be determined which can be done using simulation versions

PS - Project Version Reporting

Hi Dear,
For project verson wise reporting i need to get Amount (Plan and actual cost , revenue) and Quantity (Plan work and actual work --durations).
I have done the development by pulling amont from RPSCO and Quantity from RPSQT by giving the OBJNR which iam getting from MASTER TABLES.
I got the right amount values i need for defining COST and REVENUES.

But the problem is with the RPSQT. all the quantity values have got the units as ' % '. So, i feal that this is not the right table to define Plan and Actual WORK (Duration) and the units hould be like Hours or Each....etc.
Can some one pls suggest me as which R/3 table will provide me the Quantity values by Project version wise for defining DURATION/WORK (plan and actuals)</b>

Hi Leo,
On BCT I found data sources for "cProject" that can handle versions but none for PS. Have you solved your request and if so how you managed it? I've got the same request concerning 0PS_C02 and 0PS_C04.

Functional modules on cPr project version create and PS

Could u please help with some information on ABAP code work.
We need to know functional module names used when
a verion for cProjects project created. I mean a functional
module used after a user peformes the following steps:
1. Open cProjects project
2. Move to "Project Versions"tab-"Snapshots" or"Simulations"
3. Click "Create" button
4. Choose version and click "Continue" button
We would like to modify the functional modules for the
following scenario performed. After cProjects
snapshots/simulations created if a cProjects 4.0
project has PS accounting assigned we need to ask a user
whether he/she wants to create PS project
version/simulation. If a user choses "Yes" then we call a
ERP 6.0 transaction CJV4 for a simulation or CN72 for
a snapshot and create PS version/simulation with the same
name. It would be great to make link to PS project
version/simulation on the cPojects snapshots/simulations
or mark cProjects snapshots/simulations with a flag that
there is a PS version/simulation for this cProjects
snapshots/simulations.
It is very important to create cProjects
and PS versions at one moment for projects analisys.
Product versions:
SAP cProject 4.0 (SP 0011)
SAP ECC 6.0

Authorization to project versions

Hi All,
My requirement is to provide authorization to some users to already created versions in cProjects. I am able to create a new version using the class 'CL_DPR_APPL_OBJECT_MANAGER' and the method 'CREATE_PRJ_SNAP_WITH_PROJECT'. But I need to provide authorization to the existing project versions. I searched many classes and methods to achieve this, but not able to get a solution.
Request your comments on this.

I regret that I am unable to answer your specific question. My team also has this question.
I did want to share this thought with you in the hopes that it would be useful for the future. In testing I had realized that any users we added in the future would not have access to old project versions. We informed our user of this and asked him to use user groups with authorizations so that if a new person joins the team that person is assigned to the user group. Because the user group had access to the old project versions, this new person should be able to also get to this data.
I hope that someone will be able to help answer your question though as we did not implement the use of user groups in time. We have some projects with this same issue.

Error while saving project in cProjects

    Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the

    The reason for the exception is:
    You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
    access a component (variable: "LR_CALC").
    An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
    before it can be used to access components.
    Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
    CLEAR statement.

You may check the settings by navigating to the following path
IMG --> Collaboration Projects --> Connection to external systems --> Accounting Integration
--> Define Object Links for Accounting Integration.
Check if the RFC destination has been correctly maintained. You may check the correctness of the RFC settings via SM59.

How to delete the project version RELEASED.

but in the system , there are no "Project 1522DJ110001". so the user can't create the project "1522DJ110001".
how to delete the Project 1522DJ110001 version RELEASED ?

Hi Harish,
When I select Delete Project Version from Extras menu in CN41, its asking session number and version.
In session number no serch help is avialble. I am keeping it blank and seleting RELEASED in version.
After pressing enter I am getting an error Project Version RELEASED cannot be deleted??
Let me the exact steps to deleted the Project Version.

Error while importing MS project into cProject

I am getting the below error while importing MS project client file or XML file into cProjects.

Diagnosis
The logon language is defined as a possible text language in Customizing for Collaboration Projects under Specify Text Languages. Therefore, it is valid.
System Response
The logon language becomes the original language of the new object that was created.
Kindly suggest what configuration data if any is missing.

I am getting the below error while importing MS project into cProject.
Error occurred when importing from Microsoft Project
Message no. DPR_UI_BSP116
Diagnosis
When a project is imported from Microsoft Project, the system generates an XML string during internal processing. A project is then created in cProjects from this string.
The XML string contains errors because the values from Microsoft Project were transferred without verification.
Procedure for System Administration
Notify SAP or call the cProjects application with the "DebugMode=X" query string and carry out the import again.
The XML string that was generated temporarily is then validated against the cProjects XML schema. The error message from the XML parser is then displayed in the popup.
Kindly suggest, if the below steps for importing MS project is ok or not?
step 1: Create project in MS project with tasks.
step 2: Maintain maping fields of MSP in cProject configurat
step 3: Import MPP file into cProject using "Import" button.
step 4: I am getting the above error while importing the MPP file.

Creation of WBSE in SAP-PS from all Phase of Project from cProjects

Hi,
Need suggestion for the automatic creation of WBSE in SAP-PS from each phase of Projects from cProjects i.e. multi level controlling scenario
I have done the required configuration of Define Controlling Scenario where for the project type, controlling method has given (Multilevel Controlling (Structure Element, Automatic).
But in my case only one WBSE is getting created for all phse s & project defintion of project in cProjects.
Request you to suggest me on this issue.

Accounting Intergation-accounting integration in my SAP ERP, as of relese of the project
2. Define Object Links for Accounting Integration
- 0FIN_INT_ERP_PS Single-Obj. Controlling on WBS Elements
- Search Fields OLR3_TS_PRPS_SHLP
- Proxy Class CL_DPR_OLR3_WBSELEMENT
- 0FRAME9 frame has considered
3. Controlling
- Controlling Scenarios: PS01 Costing Variant
- Then Costing Model has assigned to Controlling Scenarios
- Assignment of Cost Elements to Cost / Revenue rate
Please suggest me if i have missed some things. I am checking the planed cost in CN41 transaction of the PS module. Morever in Project in cProjects costing button is disabled & while doing calculate no planned cost os updating in Projects.
I am following role based costing process. Project Role has defined & employee assiged to Projects.

Determine Project Version in BPM 10.3.1

I would like to display the current project version in my BPM Application. Is there a way to query this information?

This might be helpful. I don't see a process.version, but there is a process.retrieveObjectPropertyFor that says it will obtain the property from the directory.
Does anyone know if there is a list of valid properties to query for?
I see there is a FUEGO_PROCDEF table that has a field FUEGO_PROJREVREM in the directory database that would give me the information that I need. Can I get this value using the above method?

Editing a Project Version (CN72 / CN41)

Hi,
I have a requirement where a department build a project in CJ20N, then take a snapshot of that project using CN72 capturing the WBS structure and any Networks / Activities within the structure. They store this as an 'approved' snapshot. Later they add a further WBS element which they wish to add into their already taken snapshot so as not to change the WBS elements that already exist in the snapshot previously taken, but simply update that snapshot with the new WBS element. My questions are:
a) Is it possible to manually update a project version in this manner without having to create a new project version key? A new version key would mean that any changes made to data in CJ20N on the elements which existed in the original project version snapshot would then include those updates from CJ20N thus not showing the 'approved' version as it was previously.
b) Would another solution to this be to use status dependant project versions - would these update an existing project version if a new element was added to the structure but we didn't wish to overwrite the existing data in the snapshot for the existing elements?
c) A simulation version might be another method but I don't believe that you can raise purchase orders etc against a simulation version unless it is copied into the operative version in CJ20N.
Any answers of advice will be greatly appreciated.

as business requirement is,
to update the planned versions,it is not possible
versions are the snapshots and cannot be updated manually or by any means,
to do so every time you have to take a new version and get the approval for the same
any changes you make to the project can be compared with the already created version,so you can have a comparison of current data verses version data
once again i confirm that you cant change version or manually update it

Bapi to create project version or create a project version automatically as soon as project get released

Viewing Rates assigned to a Project from cProjects

Hi Gurus
I have created a project in cProjects and released, etc.
Is it possible to use a SAP PS Transaction to view the Rates assigned to each Task. I have tried using CJ20N but I have haven't been able to locate what I'm looking for.
Any guidance on this will be much appreciated.
