Prompt User through formatted search

I have a formatted search that prompts the user to select a Business Partner already working by placing the [%0] in the where statement of the query.  I was wondering if there is a way to have the system provide a 'text area' for the user to input a value instead of selecting it from a drop down.
Thank you,
Jesse Powell

Dear
Please kindly provide detailed requirements of this . As i tested in our demo system 2005A SP1 PL45 on following query
SELECT T0.CardCode FROM OCRD T0 WHERE T0.CardCode ='[%0]'
when press shift+F2, there will be a text field for inputing data.

  • Is it possible to fetch matrix column through formatted search in UDF?

    HI,
    Is it possible to fetch the value of first row of quantity column in user defined field through formatted search?
    SELECT $[$38.11.number]
      does work but in user defined column of matrix only. I have requirement that when there will be only one row in matrix, the quantity should be accessible in user defined field. and for this, the above query gives internal error.
    thanks and regards,
    Binita

    David,
    I used the query sent by you and further facing following problem. may be my filtering is on wrong parameter.
    SELECT $[rdr1.quantity] * $[ordr.u_qty1.number] from ordr o, rdr1 r where o.cardcode= $[ordr.cardcode] and r.itemcode = $[rdr1.itemcode]
    this query gives correct result when assigning to matrix column.
    when I applied the same query to user defined field, then after selecting the row as suggested by you, it does give value but, in this case, it takes it from rdr1 instead of from matrix.
    for example, I have selected item A001 in matrix. if that item is already there in rdr1, then it fetches its quantity from table instead of that provided by me in matrix's quantity column
    Please guide further,
    thanks in advance,
    Binita

    even
    SELECT $[$38.11.number] * $[ordr.u_qty1.number] from ordr o, rdr1 r where o.cardcode= $[ordr.cardcode] and r.itemcode = $[$38.1.0]
    is not working. no clues.

  • Formatted search as such G/L Account name to be shown

    Dear All,
    I have added in Udf in the row level of marketing document like U_Sales A/C Name, U_Cogs A/C Name, U_Inventory Account Name.
    Stock is maintained Warehouse Wise. Now I want that in the row level for any item e.g warehouse 001 I want a formatted search which should refresh automatically and show the G/L account name of Sales A/c, Cogs A/c and Inventory A/C respectively in the individual udfs.
    I think it could be possible through formatted search but am not able to create the query for it.. Please help.
    regards,
    kamlesh

  • Display column total on the header using Formatted Search

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create a FS on a Sales Order header (UDF) that will summarize a
    column from the row level.
    For example, I'd like to display the sum of the quantity in the header.
    I've tried the following syntax: Select sum($[$-38.11.NUMBER]) but I get
    only the first line as query result and not sum of all lines.
    Is it possible to get the column total using FS? If so, what should be
    the syntax?
    Thank you in advance,
    Maya

    Columns totals are not possible to get through formatted search as the data of the first row is only referenced by the system automatically.
    If you are needing the Sum of LineTotal for a Approval procedure, then you could use the Total Before Disc col which is actually the sum (line total)
    Access by
    SELECT $[$22.0.Number]

    Hello,
    Following is the procedure to convert alv output to spool and then it to PDF Format.
    After we display the ALV, we can check whether it is running in the background using system field u2018sy-batchu2018. Then,we call an function module named u2018GET_JOB_RUNTIME_INFOu2019 to get the current job information. Then go to spool request table tbtcp to get the spool id.
    Get current job details
      CALL FUNCTION u2018GET_JOB_RUNTIME_INFOu2019

      READ TABLE it_tbtcp INTO wa_tbtcp INDEX 1.
    Finally, we can call function module u2018CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDFu2018 to convert spool reqeust(which is stored in OTF format) to PDF format. Then we can call either function module u2018SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1u2032 or SAP BCS (Business Communication Service) to send the pdf as an email attachment.

  • I canu00B4t do a formatted search in a user table

    Hye, I'm trying to do a formatted search over a user table using and I get the error -2006, why?
    I use "report generator" and my selecc is :
    SELECT T0.U_grupo, T0.U_CODE
    FROM T0
    WHERE T0.U_grupo ='[%0]' FOR BROWSE
    If I do the same with standar table ( e.j OITM),  all is right:
    SELECT T0.ItemCode, T0.ItemName
    FROM OITM T0
    WHERE T0.PrchseItem ='[%0]' FOR BROWSE
    unless, with user tables no, whyyyy?
    thank´

    I have seen this, though I don't have an official answer, I have my own theories.  SBO matches up the variable with the previous field name and looks up the description for that field.  The description for user fields is not stored in the same place as standard fields.
    In a previous thread, named "SQL Syntax in SBO" (number 7144) another user showed a way to do dummy selects with the variables to get the names of standard fields.  Then the variables can be used for the real work.
    That is awkward, and it limits you to the descriptions of standard fields.

  • Query - Formatted Search in a User Defined Field

    Hi,
    I am having some problems with a very simple query but it doesn't seem to work. I insert this formatted search in to my UDF I made called Cost. The query I am using is:
    SELECT  $[$34.0.0] - (I had to use variable number because this Unit Price field in the Item master data does not have a field name associated)
    It is supposed to grab the unit price from the screen, however it is always displaying zero when I query it, and when I put it in the UDF as a formatted search, it give me the internal error.
    I would greatly appreciate your help.
    Thanks

    Question 1: Where is this Cost UDF defined.  Is it at the Marketing document Header or row level?
    NOTE:
    The field reference for the Unit Price column is incorrect.  When you mouse over the Unit Price column you should see the values for Item=xx  Colunm=xx
    The syntax is $\[$Item.Column.Type].  Therefore for your case it should be $\[$38.14.Number]
    The type prefix can be 0 if you are accessing a Alphanumeric column.
    If you user field is at the Header level the Formatted Search Query might not work unless you highlight that whole row and then click on the header level UDF and press Shift+F2
    How have you set the refresh options?

  • Formatted search on User Table

    Hi..,
          I need to set formatted search for user table which is @DCNR . My Requirement is that i need to  Pick CST NO from BP Master  . In my user screen i had taken CARDCODE value using CFL which is binded to the field U_ven in the table @DCNR.Using this CARDCODE value i need to pick CSTNO from BP master to the user screen which is binded to the table (@DCNR).My Query is as follows but it is not working,
    SELECT crd7.taxid1 from crd7 inner join @dcnr on crd7.cardcode  = @dcnr.u_ven where crd7.cardcode = $[@dcnr.u_ven]
    U_VEN field contains card code value.
    Do i need to follow some other terms in order to write formatted search on user table.
    Hope some one would help to fix this problem.

  • Formatted Search on User Defined Table

    Dear Experts,
    I have the following formatted search query on a user defined table : select $[dbo.[@SALES_BUDGET].U_AcctCode]
    It throws an error when I attempt to execute it. What's the proper way to write formatted searches on User Defined Tables. Please advice.
    Kind Regards

    This works very well on the delivery docs :
      select  $[ODLN.DocNum]
       on the header fields of a delivery document, Why not this
    select  $[SALES_BUDGET.U_AcctCode]
    on a field in the User defined Table  ? Is it the syntax ?

  • Formatted Search in User Define Field (UDF)

    Hello everyone...this is really puzzling and hope someone can help...2007A/000/PL42...
    1. We created a UDF on the OITB Table (Groups) called U_GrpDescrip
    2. We created a UDF on the OITM Table (Item Master) called U_IGrpDescrip
    3. We want the system to auto populate the U_IGrpDescrip (Item) with the value U_GrpDescrip (Group) everytime the Item Group is changed on the Item Master Data Window.
    So,
    1. We wrote this query...SELECT T0.U_GrpDescrip FROM OITB T0 WHERE T0.ItmsGrpCod = $[$39.0.0]
    2. Opened up a Blank Item Master Data Window.
    3. Placed cursor in the new U_IGrpDescrip
    4. Hit ShiftAltF2
    5. Selected "Search in Existing User...Saved Query"
    6. Double clicked on the appropriate FMS Query
    7. Checked the Auto Refresh
    8. Selected Item Group from the displayed list of fields
    9. Selected "Display Saved..."
    10. Update and then closed out the Item Master Data Window
    Now here is where it gets interesting...
    1. We go to the Item Master Window and change the Item Group and hit Update. Button on IMD Window changes to OK.
    2. The U_GrpDescrip from the OITB table does NOT change
    3. However, if we click the "Magnifying Glass" TWICE in the new field on the Item Master Data Window the description DOES change to the appropriate description on the OITB table...
    Can anyone help out here - this is really puzzling because we effectively use Formatted Search on other windows and they work fine, but this one seems to be a horse of another kind..
    Thanks for reading and thanks ahead of time for helping
    Zal

    Hello everyone - thanks for responding...
    I finallly figured out what is happening - and this is interesting
    1.  The field it is supposed to populate is on the main window of the Item Master Data (not on the side window of UDFs).
    2.  The field was placed there with Boyum.
    3.  When I do the formatted search in a test field that IS on the side window, the FS works perfectly.
    So - it seems if you use a FS in a moved field created by Boyum, it might not work - and now I turn my attention to what Boyum is doing.  Might not even need a FS with Boyum!!!
    Thanks to all who read and gave their suggestions - now you get your points!!!
    Take care - Zal

  • Formatted Search error with a different user

    I created an add-on form and assigned formatted search to some of the fields.
    When I logged in with a different user(<b>test</b>) and tried to use the FS via Shift+F2, I received an error saying "You're not permitted to define recurring postings".
    I gave that user the authentication for recurring postings, but now I receive an unclear error when I try to use the FS on the same editbox:
    "<b>You are not permitted to perform this action</b>."
    <b>Any ideas</b> ? What may be the reason for that unclear error message ?
    <u><b>Note:</b></u>
    <i>After logging on with the same test user, when I try Shift+F2 on another editbox (which is normally not assigned a FS) it works normally and I can do all FS operations like assigning a new FS, etc.</i>

    Hi!
    sometimes there are strange things with user permissions.
    i had some troubles with 2 users which have the same permissions. i solved it by 'drag'n'dropping' permission of the 1st user (which works ok) to the 2nd.
    try to do the same - drop 'good'-user permissions to 'test'-user.
    if it'll not solved problem then try to create new user and test your addon under that user.
    probubly your problem has another motive, but i have such strange behaviour and i've described you my solution.
    hope it'll help.
    sorry for my poor EN, hope it'll be better in some centuries

  • User defined fields window / formatted search

    HI
    I 've created a user defined field in the marketing documents
    I want tO put the result of a query into this field :
    I use a formatted search in order to have the result :
    SELECT T0.Balance FROM OCRD T0 WHERE T0.CardCode = $[$4.0]
    My query is based on CardCode(item 4), but when the user defined field window is open, the item 4 is the cross of this form and i have the result next :
    SELECT T0.Balance FROM OCRD T0 WHERE T0.CardCode = N'RSRCButtonCloseBox'
    Thanks

    Hi,
    It happened the same today for me, but using both, $[$4.0.0] and $[$4.1.0]... both of them return that RSRCButtonCloseBox....
    So, what is wrong here?

    Create the User Query and Save it with some name...
    Declare @Item varchar(20)
    Set @Item = Replace(RTRIM($[$editA.0.0]),'*','') + '%'
    SELECT T0.ItemCode AS 'Item Code', T0.ItemName AS 'Item Description' from OITM T0 WHERE T0.ItemCode
    like @Item

  • Create Formatted  Search by code in a user form

    Hi, I want to create a formated search in a user form but it doesnt work using my form id (STEC_EXTRAS) as the search.FormID.
    I created the formatted search by SAP (Shift+F2) and in the table of formatted searches the formid appears as 2000001000
    ¿Where is the relation between my id and the id SAP uses?¿Any SAP table or conversion rule?
    Thanks for the possible help.

    Hello,
    When You create a form, the id (Type) can be set up by  Add function, ..... it is staring form 2000000000 ...
    Maybe Your "ID" STEC_EXTRAS is the Unique ID of the Form...... not the Type
    Public Const WM_USERFORM As Integer = 2000000000 ' User defined forms minimum ID
    Public Const YOURFORM As Integer= WM_USERFORM + 1 ' My form id will be  2000000001
    oForm = m_SBO_Application.Forms.Add("MYFORM", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormTypes.ft_Sizable, YOURFORM - WM_USERFORM)
    'this is the same as
    oForm = m_SBO_Application.Forms.Add("MYFORM", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormTypes.ft_Sizable, 1)
    ' or the same as
    Dim creationPackage as SAPbouiCOM.FormCreationParams
    creationPackage  = SBO_Application.CreateObject(SAPbouiCOM.BoCreatableObjectType.cot_FormCreationParams)
    creationPackage.UniqueID = "MYFORM"
    creationPackage.FormType = YOURFORM
    creationPackage.BorderStyle = SAPbouiCOM.BoFormBorderStyle.fbs_Fixed
    oForm = SBO_Application.Forms.AddEx(creationPackage)
    If you use  STEC_EXTRAS as FormType, You will see in the CSHS table STEC_EXTRAS as the FormId
    Dim creationPackage as SAPbouiCOM.FormCreationParams
    creationPackage  = SBO_Application.CreateObject(SAPbouiCOM.BoCreatableObjectType.cot_FormCreationParams)
    creationPackage.UniqueID = "MYFORM"
    creationPackage.FormType = "STEC_EXTRAS"
    creationPackage.BorderStyle = SAPbouiCOM.BoFormBorderStyle.fbs_Fixed
    oForm = SBO_Application.Forms.AddEx(creationPackage)
