Propagation delay in kvp info to ubuntu in integration services

Running HyperV on Windows 8.1 for testing, with planned deploy on 2008R2, and with Ubuntu 14.04 as guest.
I have the key-value pair information working.  Sometimes; and there is the question.
All I want is for the guest to obtain the HyperV virtual machine name from the host.  That's a bit arcane in bash but it works.
name=$(cat /var/lib/hyperv/.kvp_pool_3 | sed -e  's/^.*VirtualMachineName\x0*//g' -e 's/\x0.*//g')
However, it is not always current.  When I change the name using the Hyper-V manager, it sometimes propagates quickly, and sometimes not for many minutes.
I have confirmed that the hv_kvp_daemon is running.  It is the version in the Ubuntu distributions, most current as of today (3.13.0.37.44), and I have done an dist-upgrade (which was necessary to get it going).
It DOES work.  Just not in a predictable time.  I should note it seems (emphasis on "seems") to be correct after the guest reboots, but changes while running are not reliable.
Is that the intended behavior, correct only on reboot? Is there a control for how fast it propagates?

I would suggest you to post the issue into "linux integrationservices for microsoft hyper-v " forum for more effective support :

  • RAC data propagation delay?

    Hi Experts,
    I have a multi-threaded app that connects to a RAC DB using OCI.
    Flow:
    1.) Get an expired resource
    2.) Assigned it to a user
    Each thread executes the following sequence of queries:
    1.) SELECT id, data FROM table_name WHERE date_expiry = :min_date AND rownum = 1 FOR UPDATE;
    2.) UPDATE table_name SET date_expiry = trunc(sysdate) + 30, user = :user WHERE id = :id
    3.) COMMIT;
    -- :min_date is always <= trunc(sysdate)
    I expect that each row will only be assigned to a unique user.
    Apparently, this is not the case. It seems that some threads can still get a row even after the date_expiry has been updated.
    Is there a data propagation delay between RAC nodes?
    If there is, a thread can fetch a row even after another thread have updated it if the threads are connected in different nodes.
    This is the only reason I can think of.
    I tested this many times on a stand alone DB, but I can't replicate the error.
    Please help!
    BTW, our oracle version is:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production With the Partitioning, Real Application Clusters, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options

    A better method would be to use something like a dispatcher/thread manager that hands out the work. So instead of each thread trying to discover what work needs to be done - and running into concurrency issues - the manager process picks up a batch of work to be done and distributed that amongst threads.
    Simplistic example. The thread manager fires of the SQL to find work and bulk fetches the 1st 50 rows. It closes the cursor, caches the 50 rowids and fires off 10 threads to process the 1st 10 rows. Each sleeps for a few seconds, wakes up, checks the thread number, finds that 8 threads are still busy and fires off 2 more threads to do the next 2 rowids. Repeat. When the cache has been processed (or when it is down to the last 10 rowids), the manager finds the next batch of work to do.
    The key design issue is not to have threads competing to find work. As this means competing for access to the same resource, and potential serialisation issues - threads stepping on one another's toes and getting hurt.

  • What is the typical propagation delay?

    Hello,
    I am building a ring oscillator in SPARTAN6. The output is connected to a multiplexer and mux output is connected to a 32-bit counter. How much maximum frequency can mux and counter handle?
    I generated 2 ring oscillators one with 100 and one with 200 NOT gates. RO with 100 gates generate 10 MHz frequency, RO with 200 gates generate 5 MHz. It means the propagation delay of a gate is 10ns, which seems not correct. And I need less NOT gates in order to get maximum frequency. How "less" can I go further?
    Thanks.

    You should check your math.  100 gates in a ring should mean that 10 MHz (100 ns) gets divided by 100 (1 ns) which might be a typical gate delay.  Remember that a "gate delay" in any FPGA really also includes the routing delay between the gates.  Just because the LUT delay from the data sheet says something like 150 ps doesn't mean you can string these end to end and get 150 ps total from one LUT to the next.  Routing delays can account for as much as 70% of the typical path delay in a modern FPGA.
    You should also note that the tools are not well equipped to do things like ring oscillators.  You should probably be adding LOC constraints to your LUTs in the ring to get a consistent delay time from build to build.  Even better, also add directed routing constraints once you have the ring going at somewhere near the frequency you want.
    As for the max frequency, you can just add a period constraint to the clock you provide for your counter.  That will tell the tools what your target frequency is, and they will do their best to meet it.  The actual max frequency and worst case path will appear in the post P&R timing report if you select the "verbose" report.  For the normal report, you will get a max frequency if you enable generation of the data sheet section, but you won't see the worst case path unless it fails timing.

  • File Info Panel to hit web service to fill out XMP data

    Hi there,
    Is there any way to use the File Info panel inside Indesign (for example) to hit a web service based info entered in a few fields which will return data to fill out the rest of the xmp data?
    Or would you have to write some sort of plugin to do this?
    I know Metagrove already does this, but it's a standalone plugin. We were wondering if anything can integrate directly into the File Info panel.
    Thanks,
    mark

    Do you have a proxy defined in your jdev? This might prevent reading from the address you specified.
    If you can access the url in a browser, you can store the WSDL on your local pc and use the local file to create the webServiceDataControl.

  • Why is there NO way to change the credit card info to pay for ICloud services??

    Currently I am being asked for a 3 digit verification number to a credit card that is no longer valid.  Why is there no way to change the credit card info on ICloud services?

    You change it in iTunes. Go to the iTunes Store. In iTunes 12, click on your name in the toolbar and choose 'Account info'. In previous versions click 'Account' in 'Quick links' on the right. Sign in, and click 'Edit' next to 'Payment information'. Then you can change the card.

    Hi, startkey. Are you also using the same phone model? Do you also experience the same issue? If no, could you tell us the reason why you have sent it for repair? BTW, farby is right. Though the turnaround time is 7-10 business days. The repair would still depend on the complexity of the issue and the availability of the spare part.

  • Calling Update Info sercive within a Custom service

    Hi,
    I created custom service which will perform some task and at the end of it I want to update value of one metadata. Could some one help how to update meta data from a custom service. I am using intradoc API for creating custom service.
    Regards,
    Padmaja.

    Hey Padmaja,
    Instead of making a Service you can also make ServiceHandler. From within handler you can call any other service you want.
    One thought about service, there are many services that call multiple java methods. So what you can also try is
    call multiple java method one them should be your custom java method and other should be the method(doSubService) used by UPDATE_DOCINFO service.
    cheers,

    Hi Dexuan and Mike,
    Thanks for your help!
    I did the patch with rpmbuild on CentOS 6.5 (with kernel 2.6.32-431).
    However, the second patch cannot patch on CentOS6.5 since there is no target_cpu in such version.
    So we are patching that with the following similar patch but this issue still occurs. (also replace ko in initrd)

    Can you tell me if any patch I could miss or any suggestion?

  • Random delays with tpacall

    Dear friends,
    we do have an issue that sometimes result in a random delay. We haven't thoroughly invesitigaded this, so there might be some bad conclusions made in the scenario described below
    We're using Tuxedo 11.1.1.2.0 and DB2 9.7
    When we're doin' two sequential tpacall's (with TPSIGRSTRT only) to 2 services (A and B) (implemented in the same server) doin' some SQL-operations to a DB2-database. It usually works well, but once in a while it seems like the there's a delay for about 1 second before the service(s) is/are processed. When we digged a little deeper into this, the delay seemed to occur when the call to service B ended up in the server before the call to service A
    In this case, the services just read some data so, as a quick and dirty workaround, we called the services with TPSIGRSTRT | TPNOTRAN and the "random" delay disappeared. This "workaround" is not desirable (in a SOA-architecture) and may not even be applicable all the time
    As I wrote above, we haven't really digged in to this problem, so DB2 might be the one to blame as well, the answer may lay in how the two products work togehter (perhaps releaded to xa_reg vs ax_reg ?)
    Have anyone experienced something like this ? Does anyone have an explanation ? Can it be a defect (in implementation or design) in one of the products ?
    Best regards,
    Kristian

    Hi Kristian,
    When you say 2 services implemented in the same server, you mean the same server executable, or the same server instance, i.e., how many copies of the server are running? If there are multiple copies of the server running, are they in the same group? Also, are the servers in a transactional group, i.e., one with an OPENINFO string and build against an DB2 as an RM? The reason I ask this second question is that when in a transactional group, Tuxedo maintains and manages the connection to the RM. In non-transactional groups, it is up to the application to manage the connections.
    You say the services just read some data, so there should be no dependencies in the database between the two such as readying cursors or the like?
    If all you changed was to add TPNOTRAN, then I suspect it may be a DB2 issue. One way to check is to enable XA tracing and see if DB2 is calling back with an ax_reg() call in the execution of either service. If DB2 is calling Tuxedo with ax_reg(), then DB2 thinks you are modifying the state of the database and is trying to join a global transaction. This still doesn't explain the delay, although the timestamps on the traces may help. TSAM Plus would also be able to potentially help identify the cause of this problem, or at least the culprit responsible for the delay.
    One other possibility is that if you are doing this a lot, say thousands of times a second, then you may be hitting the global transaction table lock hard enough to cause some serious contention issues. But again, I'm not sure why a 1 second delay.
    Do you know if the delay only occurs when service B gets processed before service A?

    Todd Little

  • Errors in info package

    hi friends,
    please some one can explain me the errors occurs in info package like referential integrity failures, due to locks, etc.
    please some one explain about this points.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi sreekanth,
    Referential Integrity: Its a DataBase concept which combines(logically) the data of multiple table with the master table. Here master table has the primary key and rest of the tables have the same key as forienkey.
    Here we use the characteristic (or combinations of Chars) call as referential char.
    check this.
    you might be knowing that generally refrential integrity is concerned with nothing but primary key and foriegn key relationship. Generally we use to check uniqueness of records.
    In sap we use it during flexible updation...to check the data records of transaction data and master data.
    In other words, to check before loading of data, that whether loading will be properly or not.
    we will check(tick) the option in the maintainance of the
    infosource--> communication structure
    it will be better if you clearly mention your problem, if further help is needed.

  • AIA Async delayed response pattern :RequestorABCS remains in suspended mode

    Hi All,
    I am trying to implement the Async delayed response pattern for one of my integration flows. After there is a fault on providerABCS it creates the responseEBM along with fault message in it and invokes the ResponseEBS. The ResponseEBS shows as completed and has invoked the desired operation on RequestorABCS. However the RequestorABCS shows as Pending status on the receive activity.
    I have created correlation ids and sets on both Invoke and Receive in requestorABCS as below:
    <invoke name="Invoke_EBS"
    inputVariable="Invoke_EBS_CreateAccountingEntryList_InputVariable"
    partnerLink="JournalEntryEBS" portType="ns1:AccountingEntryEBS"
    operation="CreateAccountingEntryList">
    <correlations>
    <correlation initiate="yes" set="CorrelationSet_1" pattern="out"/>
    </correlations>
    </invoke>
    <receive name="Receive_Response" createInstance="no"
    variable="Receive_Response_updateResponse_InputVariable"
    partnerLink="createjournalentryxxxreqabcsimpl_client"
    portType="client:CreateJournalEntryXXXReqABCSImpl"
    operation="updateResponse">
    <correlations>
    <correlation initiate="no" set="CorrelationSet_1"/>
    </correlations>
    </receive>
    The property aliases are as below:
    <bpws:propertyAlias propertyName="pns1:Identifier" xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/EnterpriseServices/Core/AccountingEntry/V1"
    messageType="ns1:CreateAccountingEntryListReqMsg" part="CreateAccountingEntryListEBM"
    query="/ns2:CreateAccountingEntryListEBM/ns3:EBMHeader/ns3:EBMID" xmlns:ns3="http://xmlns.oracle.com/EnterpriseObjects/Core/Common/V2"/>
    <bpws:propertyAlias propertyName="pns1:Identifier" messageType="client:CreateJournalEntryResponseMessage"
    part="CreateJournalEntryResponseMessagePart" query="/ns2:CreateAccountingEntryListResponseEBM/ns3:EBMHeader/ns3:RequestEBMID"
    xmlns:ns3="http://xmlns.oracle.com/EnterpriseObjects/Core/Common/V2"/>
    And the operation I am trying to invoke from ResponseEBS is updateResponse:
    <wsdl:portType name="CreateJournalEntryXXXReqABCSImpl">
    <wsdl:operation name="process">
    <wsdl:input message="client:CreateJournalEntryXXXReqABCSImplRequestMessage"/>
    </wsdl:operation>
    <wsdl:operation name="updateResponse">
    <wsdl:input message="client:CreateJournalEntryResponseMessage"/>
    </wsdl:operation>
    In providerABCS I am mapping the EBMID from requestEBM to RequestEBMID on responseEBM. Any suggestions on what could be going wrong here ?

  • Not able to Pass header info to Microsoft MapPoint WebService using WLS10

    We are passing some Header info to the MapPoint Web Service from our client Web Service which is hosted in Weblogic 10, however we are not sure if the info is getting passed.
    The actual soap header which we are trying to postis as below:
    <env:Header xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <m:CustomerInfoFindHeader xmlns:m="http://s.mappoint.net/mappoint-30/">
    <m:CustomLogEntry>2</m:CustomLogEntry>
    </m:CustomerInfoFindHeader>
    </env:Header>
    We are using the below code snippet for setting the header:
    Document doc = null;
    try
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    doc = factory.newDocumentBuilder().newDocument();
    catch(ParserConfigurationException pce)
    System.out.println("ERROR -> " + pce.getMessage());
    Element header = doc.createElementNS("http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/", "SOAP-ENV:Header");
    Element headerContent = doc.createElementNS("http://s.mappoint.net/mappoint-30/","m:CustomerInfoFindHeader");
    Element headerChildContent = doc.createElementNS("http://s.mappoint.net/mappoint-30/", "m:CustomLogEntry");
    headerChildContent.appendChild(doc.createTextNode("2"));
    headerContent.appendChild(headerChildContent);
    header.appendChild(headerContent);
    Attr nsAttr = doc.createAttributeNS("http://www.w3.org/2000/xmlns/","xmlns:m");
    nsAttr.setValue("http://s.mappoint.net/mappoint-30/");
    headerContent.setAttributeNodeNS(nsAttr);
    findServiceControl.setOutputHeaders(new Element[] {header});
    Here findServiceControl is the Service Control object.
    Even if the code is not throwing any error/exception I am not able to see the header portion which invoking the Mappoint Web Service (using the weblogic test client for testing the webservice).
    Is there any other methodology for setting the header.
    Regards
    Sanjeev Singh

    If you're not sure the header is being created properly, you should switch to using a javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource and javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMResult. For instance:
    import java.io.ByteArrayInputStream;
    import javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory;
    import javax.xml.transform.Transformer;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMResult;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import org.w3c.dom.Element;
    StringBuffer xml = new StringBuffer()
    .append("<env:Header ")
    .append("xmlns:env=\"http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/\">")
    .append("<m:CustomerInfoFindHeader xmlns:m=\"http://s.mappoint.net/mappoint-30/\">")
    .append("<m:CustomLogEntry>2</m:CustomLogEntry>")
    .append("</m:CustomerInfoFindHeader>")
    .append("</env:Header>);
    TransformerFactory xformFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer transformer = xformFactory.newTransformer();
    ByteArrayInputStream bais = new ByteArrayInputStream(xml.toString().getBytes());
    DOMResult result = new DOMResult();
    transformer.transform(new StreamSource(bais), result);
    Document document = (Document)result.getNode();
    findServiceControl.setOutputHeaders(new Element[] {document.getDocumentElement()});
    If you want to see the SOAP request being sent to the Mappoint Web Service, add the following to the JAVA_OPTIONS environment variable (in the startWebLogic.cmd file), and bounce it:
    -Dweblogic.wsee.verbose=*
    -Dweblogic.log.RedirectStdoutToServerLogEnabled=true
    This will write the SOAP request (and SOAP response) to the server log of the WebLogic Server instance, which the service control is running in.

  • Need Info on sysidtools and /etc/.sysIDtool.state

    I am trying to locate someone or some document that can explain how sysidnet, sysidsys, and the associated tools behave, as well as the /etc/.sysIDtool.state file that controls them.
    In particular, what, specifically, does each line in /etc/.sysIDtool.state control?
    How can I stop sysidnet from querying DNS and reconfiguring the ethernet interface?
    Suninstall seems to use syidnet and sysidsys to collect its sysidconfig parameters. Can I make suninstall use different IP parameters for the installed Solaris than those that are in effect during the install?
    I would be happiest with some documentation on the intended function of the sysidtool suite, with an explanation of each switch in /etc/.sysIDtool.state . I have seen the comments in the sysIDtool.state file, but they leave some obvious questions unanswered.
    This inquiry is languishing as hotline case number 62646363.

  • Principal Propagation SOAP - XI - RFC Scenario

    Hi,
    I am developing a synchronous scenario whereby a SOAP request posted by a non SAP system should be forwarded to an ECC system using RFC. Challenge I am facing is that I want to use the user, which was used for basic user authentification to post to XI, dynamically in the RFC call. I have been reading about Principal Propagation using assertion tickets, however only SOAP receiver adapter is spoken about. I am trying to configure this using SOAP Sender adapter.
    As far as my understanding goes the sending system should be able to create these assertion tickets ?
    Has anyone developed a similar interface ?
    Scenario is: Non SAP SOAP Sending system = Client, Adapter engine = Server & Client, Integration Server = Server & client and Receiving ABAP system (ECC6.0) is Server.
    Any help would be appreciated and awarded if helpfull.
    Kind Regards, Jelmer Keuken
    Ps. XI is version 7.0 SP18, Alreay read the Blogs of Alexander Bundschuh

    Hi,
    This scenario is definately possible to implement with principal propagation.
    1. Enable the PP on Integration server
    2. Here you need not have to do anything on SOAP sender side to create the assertion ticket..
    The assertion ticket is required on SAP side which will act as Web AS ABAP Server.
    refer the settings --http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/61/42897de269cf44b35f9395978cc9cb/frameset.htm
    3. And then follow further steps as it mentioned the blogs...
    Thanks
