Proper text literal format

Gentlemen, I'm running into a problem with a line of code in my subroutine.
I want to move a text literal to a variable in the subroutine, and the way it is formatted is the same as the format on F1 and other saphelp documentation. Please check this out. I am appending the following line to code, and then I called the function GUI_DOWNLOAD to output this line to a .txt file so I could read it in full. This is what it looks like:
MOVE '800300001000000002000RV20000107200001070120000107145835000000000000000020000107CONSIDINE VF01 0090018112 0000 USD SD00' TO CONDHOLDER.
(it's less than 254 characters).
When I run my program, I write out any error message from the subroutine pool run and I get : invalid syntax for a text literal.
Please help me identify the improper format.

Yeah, that's where it gets touchy. I thought it might have something to do with them. See I believe those characters indicate a break between fields for a table.
The segment I am passing to the subroutine is a fraction of a large segment.
I am reconstructing the big segment in the subroutine from a bunch of the smaller segments.
Then I do a 'move bigsegment to itab_bkpf.' And then I can check the itab for user entered company code or posting date for example.
If those characters are escape characters I may have to work some other angle.

Drop-down Text - Bullet Format

Can bullets in a drop-down text box be different than the bullet of the item it is describing. In RoboHelp 9, the bullets take on the formatting of the original item even though I have them formatted differently.
Here is an example of what I'm trying to do.
I start with this list:
When I create the drop-down text and format the bullets within this text for item "Line 1", they look like this.
When I view the selected item and/or when I generate and view it, I get the following result.
Obviously I didn't create the drop-down text with the large square bullet, but it appears to pick up the bullet from the main listing.
How can I get separate formatting for the drop-down text? Is there something wrong with the formatting of my drop-down text box?
I do have drop-down text boxes in RoboHelp 7 that have different bullet formatting, but the only way this could be achieved is by leaving the formatting of the original list as Normal and inserting the bullet as an image.
This shows the list item with an inserted image as the bullet and in Normal format.
This shows the formatting that I would like to see.
This shows that the formatting is ok in the drop-down, but only if I don't use bullets on the original list.

Did anyone ever figure this out? I am having the same problem, but in addition to bullet and numbering styles, the dropdown text is inheriting other qualities from the Hotspot format, including font color.
What can I do to maintain the formatting in the drop down text independently from the text formatting of the hotspot?

Hi,
You have the choice between xml or pdf, in later versions of designer you can choose with a dropdown on the email button Object palette, the "Submit As";
In earlier version you had to edit the XML Source and change the format from xml to pdf (or vice-versa);

Error message as TEXT is Formatted

Dear All,
Issue is regarding the Text determination.
As I have created a text id, at sales document header level, assigned to procedure n access sequence too.
while creating the sales order, while entering a particular text, the text field is grayed out and message pops up as TEXT IS FORMATTED -> DETAILS. Aa I am unable to enter the text for this particualr ID.
I/p will be of great help n rewarded too.

That should not be the problem for u for entering the text, u can still enter the text by clicking on detail icon or double-clicking(not double clicking on text id but on free space where u enter text for text id) to go to the text editor.
but reason why u cannot straight away enter text on that screen it self is .....go to tocde SE75..select first radio button and click on display.........scroll down for object VBBK...double click on VBBK...in new screen u can see that for ur text id, some format is assigned (third column)..
i guess u should not be bothered by this, but incase u r..u remove that format by going in change mode if u have autharization

Bi Publisher is great, but has a very high price tag. It's even more expensive than Forms & Reports Services. We are considering APEX to replace Forms & Reports on the web, but the reporting limitations are still a problem.
I wonder if there is another option.

Can text be formatted when using 'Append report text.vi'?

The example that ships with LabVIEW 7 'Generate Report from Template (Word).vi' uses 'Append report text' to insert text into a word template via bookmarks.
My question is can this text be formatted in any way (e.g. fontsize, fontcolor, ...)? It seems I can't format the bookmark and I can't format the transmitted text. It always appears in Normal Arial 12pt.

this works well for formatting the whole report. I also found that the Word Format Text.vi placed directly behind the Append Report Text.vi changes the attributes for the previously inserted text at the bookmark.

Text contains formatting - cannot be displayed

Hi,
During sales order creation, when we try to maintain one of the header texts, system displays a message, "Text is formatted -> Details".
Long text shows "You have formatted the text in a way that cannot be displayed by Text Edit Control."
This text is not being copied from any source; it is maintained manually during sales order creation. Configuration of text types, assignment to procedure and its determination seems to be fine.
In debug mode, we observed that the field 'thead-tdtexttype' gets value 'DOC' and this is what causes the above message.
Can someone suggest how formatting type is relevant to text and where can we make those settings in the config.

Select, and Copy in the Word doc and Paste in the Pages doc. It may not be perfect. Importing (Opening) the Word doc is probably better than using Copy/Paste for large amounts of content.

Choosing proper image file format

I was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced this connundrum: In my business documents (in Word) if I insert my logo in tif format, it looks great when the document is printed, but horrible in digital format; conversely, if I use .png the image looks fine on screen but slightly ragged when printed. Is there a universal format that looks good both ways, or would converting all my documents to Indesign be the best way to go? I date to go to all the trouble, but...

Bob suggested wmf, which made me wonder why you're rasterizing your logo
at all. Logos usually start life as vectors.

Generate a report in text file format

Hello Experts,
I need to write a program to generate a report in a text file format which is later saved on a directory in the application server. I have the fields with the sources defined and also the filters, selections, rows and columns. For example:-
0company code (US) as the filter, 0CALDAY as the selection, CUSTNAM as the object in the row with sources coming from BUKRS and ZSD_CCUST. Can someone initiate or direct me to an already existing forum or throw some light on the issue.

As mentioned above, the Open Hub service allows to extract data from an InfoCube/ODS/InfoObject and then store it a database table or flat file stored in the application server. You can start in transaction RSBO and create an InfoSpoke there.
To schedule an extraction using an InfoSpoke, you need to place it in a process chain.

Hi everyone!
In my service desk transaction monitor, when i click on one particular transaction (this problem doesnt exist with other transactions), it opens up flagging a message "Text contains formatting (see detail screen)". [Message no. COM_TEXT202]. The performance assisstant states that "The text contains formatting that cannot be displayed in Text Edit Control."
Can anyone please tell me why is this message getting displayed? And what should be done so that it doesn't appear?

BIP report in plain text/fixed format.

Is there an option for a BIP report to go out in plain text/fixed format. I dont see that option in the drop down where we select the format and view/send/schedule reports. Is this plain text/fixed format available in BIP at all? Also if I need to send/schedule a report with report name+date...can BIP do that? Please adivce. Thanks.

There is no plain text format.
Fixed format means you can select the format you need from the Limited Output Format.If You select only PDF for example the user able to see only the PDF output.
While You schedule the Report under the Report parameter tab
you will get the Template and the Format option .There u can select the Format you want to send.

Plain text ASCII format file

This may be slightly off-topic, but I'm hoping maybe someone knows the answer:
I received a license for the Messiah animation suite as part of a one-time offer, and it says to paste the License text "into a text file... (this file must be a plain text ASCII format file, NOT Rich Text or doc)."
I have Microsoft Office 2008. It has a Plain Text (.txt) format, but googling there seems to be some uncertainty if in Mac it is plain text ASCII format. The TextEdit app I'm not sure of either I'm pretty sure isn't.
Anyone got a solution?

The problem is whether that version of .txt or the MS Office 2008 is actually ASCII format or unicode.
I don't think that is the issue, since ascii and unicode are identical for the usual 26 letters and 10 digits that are probably in the license text. The point is that it be .txt and not .doc or .rtf or .html, which has all kinds of other junk added to the real content. I would use TextEdit set to Plain text.
