Proper upgrade procedure from 2007 - 2013 with Fab 40 templates

I'm currently migrating my MOSS 2007 server to 2013 I have gone through all steps to detach and upgrade to 2013 within my test environment, started by migrating to 2010 then from 2010 to 2013 which I was able to get the sites functional however I'm running
into some problem with solutions that are no longer available for 2010 and 2013 sharepoint sites.
My existing 2007 server was based on the FAB40 templates and when I upgrade I have some problems where the templates are not found and I end up with some Correlation ID errors on a particular sub site which I'm having a hard time resolving because of missing
solutions and I'm not able to access that site. I'm also seeing various errors where I'm missing templates when I run the 2013 health check so I'm trying to figure out what is the best approach to resolve these issues before I perform the migration? I have
to keep the 2007 server in production until the migration is complete so I can't just uninstall the solutions from the exiting site.
How are people handling the FAB40 template problems?
Missing Site Templates
The following sites are using templates that are not yet supported after upgrade:
http://tagsp01/admin/admin/vacation - #0
http://tagsp01/admin/confroom - #0
http://tagsp01/admin/finreport - #0

I just wanted to elaborate on what Aries said, since I had the same issue regarding missing site templates occurring during the site collection upgrade health check.
I had noted that the solution package that my site templates came from were installed in the 14 hive, but not in the 15 hive.  So, after seeing this blog entry, it became clear that I would have to install the site templates to the 15 hive to get rid
of the missing site templates issue during the upgrade health check.
The following blog explains what happens when a solution package is installed.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/mspfe/archive/2013/02/04/planning-deployment-of-farm-solutions-for-sharepoint-2013.aspx
As of the writing of the blog, to install the solution package to both hives, you must install the solution package using the Install-SPSolution command with the CompatibilityLevel option set to {14,15}.  Otherwise, unless specified in the solution
manifest.xml file, the solution will be installed into the 14 hive for backward compatibility.
You would add the solution using the standard:
stsadm -o addsolution -file "WebPartSolution.wsp"
If you already added and deployed it the stsadm way, you can retract the solution using stsadm -o retractsolution and then deploy it again using the Install-SPSolution command with the compatibility level specified to {14,15}.
The Install-SPSolution command I used utilized the following options:
Install-SPSolution -Identity "WebpartSolution.wsp" -GACDeployment -force -CompatibilityLevel {14,15}  -WebApplication
http://moss2013URL
Doing this got rid of the missing site templates error for me and allowed me to proceed with the SiteCollection upgrade.
I will probably have to make modifications to my site templates and make a 2013 version of my solution packages.   However, during the initial upgrade of my farm to 2013, this will at least give me a chance to see how the site template
looks in 2013 mode.

  • Upgrade procedure from 4.6c to ECC 6.0

    Hi
I had gone through SAP solution browser tool and observed the differences for 4.6C and 6.0
Can u please let me know How to start and end  the upgrade project i.e sequence of activities.
    1) should the configuration be done in ECC 6.0 same as 4.6C?
    2)master data upload?
    3)Z-objects movement from 4.6C to 6.0....?
    4)Open PO's and stock upload......in ECC 6.0 ?
    5) what are the precautions to be taken before Go-live?
Please send any links for upgrade procedure from 4.6C to 6.0 i.e sequence of activities.........
    Thanking you
    Deepak

    Hi,
    About your questions:
    1) should the configuration be done in ECC 6.0 same as 4.6C?
The configuration (if you mean how the system is configured from the Basis point of view) will be almost the same as you had in 4.6C. Of course you will find new aspects you don't have in the old version (for example the integrated ITS, ICM, etc.), but you will have the system running after the upgrade.
    2)master data upload?
Master data will be adapted to new version during the upgrade. Unless you need fresh data, you won't need to reload master data.
    3)Z-objects movement from 4.6C to 6.0....?
Z objects are not touched by the upgrade process. It's your responsibility to keep them running after the upgrade.
    4)Open PO's and stock upload......in ECC 6.0 ?
Same as question 2). Business data remains in the system after the upgrade.
    5) what are the precautions to be taken before Go-live?
It is recommended to carry out functional tests, as well as connection tests with external interfaces. In any case, you shouldn't take any special precaution, at least not so different from those you would take in a normal installation.

  • Outlook Authentication prompt after migrating from 2007/2013

I have a very simple environment.  3 new Exchange 2013 servers in a DAG behind a load balancer.  Most users are still on Exchange 2007 environment.  Autodiscover has been configured for load balanced name.  There is no External Outlook
Anywhere connectivity.  I have NOT enabled Outlook Anywhere in the 2007 environment.  I have a simple Lync 2013 environment.  1 Server in a standard pool with no external connectivity.  I have integration with OWA 2013 and Lync working.
All versions of Outlook are at least on the patch level required for Exchange 2013.
My issue is random password prompts in Outlook for some (not all) users with mailboxes on Exchange 2013.  This password prompt appears to be coming from the load balanced Outlook anywhere name.  I have had a few reports of users on Exchange 2007
getting an error stating they cannot open default set of folders.  If I have them exit Lync 2013 client and open Outlook again it works fine.  They can then open Lync without issue.  Closing and opening Outlook will no longer reproduce the issue.
It seems like Lync is causing an issue here somewhere, but I have no idea where.
Lync BPA completes without any warning or errors.  All test cmdlets complete without any errors.
    2013 Outlook Anywhere settings:

I just could not let this go last night.  The issue was occurring when I moved a mailbox to 2013.
    2 scenarios
#1. Users mailbox moved from 2007 to 2013.  Profile has a secondary mailbox that is still on 2007. When entering Outlook they are prompted for
a password into the internally resolvable load balanced name (mail.company.com). If I remove this secondary 2007 mailbox they work fine, UNTIL they try to access anything on 2007 (calendar, Public Folder, another mailbox, etc).  When they do attempt they
    are prompted for a password.
I have seemingly fixed this error by adding the external URL back to AutoDiscover on 2013 based on
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2839517<u5:p></u5:p>.  Even though we have no intentions of using Outlook Anywhere externally.
During this troubleshooting I also changed InternalClientsRequireSsl from false to true.  Now I have clients reporting errors in their event log “A fatal error occurred while
creating an SSL client credential. The internal error state is 10013."  I do not think changing this to require SSL, but I’m almost scared to change it because  this issue
    is seemingly resolved.
#2 mailbox that is only accessed as a shared mailbox Mailbox is moved from 2007 to 2013.  Users attaching to the mailbox are still on 2007. This works perfectly fine for some.  However others receive a password prompt each time they open Outlook.
If the 2013 mailbox is removed from their outlook profile they receive no prompt.  If I manually remove the mailbox from their profile and add it back the prompts go away.  I have not been tracking client versions, but these last 4 are running 12.0.6691.5000.
I also noticed in checking the connection status all 2007 references are using [Nego] for authentication and mail.company.com is using NTLM.  Is this normal?  This is the same in my test environment, but I can’t replicate this issue in my test environment
    either.
    I’m very stumped.
    2013 Outlook anywhere config:
    ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Ntlm
    InternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Ntlm
    IISAuthenticationMethods           : {Basic, Ntlm, Negotiate}
    SSLOffloading                      : True
    ExternalClientsRequireSsl          : True
    InternalClientsRequireSsl          : True
    2007 Outlook anywhere config:
    ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Ntlm
    InternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Ntlm
    IISAuthenticationMethods           : {Basic, Ntlm}
    SSLOffloading                      : True

  • Calling a procedure from Calculation View with Debug function

Is it possible to call a debuggable hana procedure in a calculation view?

  • Need help on Cross Forest Exchange 2007 - 2013 with Linked Mailboxes

    Hey all,
So I'm in a bit of a pickle with my Exchange design and am trying to figure out if there's a way to migrate mailboxes across forests where Linked mailboxes are being used. I've done a bit of reading and have noted stuff like preparing the move request in
AD, etc. But I'm wondering if someone can break it down for me.
    http://1drv.ms/1lWjLqG
The above is a OneNote diagram of how we have moved over time. Please forgive my sloppy handwriting but I hope it gets the point across. I will text it out here as well:
    Original Design
The original design of the domains when I joined the company were fabrikam and contoso. Contoso is a domain that sits entirely in the "DMZ". Fabrikam was the internal AD forest where most services and users authenticated to. In Contoso, there
are 2 domain controllers, the "Front End" Exchange Server (Edge Transport), and the "Back End" server, which is CAS/Mailbox.
There is a forest trust between contoso and fabrikam where "Linked Mailboxes" are created in Contoso, and then the LinkedMasterAccount is set to Fabrikam.
    Migration/Hybrid Design
Due to the fact that these two domains were configured massively inappropriately, riddled with security holes as well as strange permissions configurations, the decision was made to create a new internal AD domain. In my OneNote, I've labeled this 'specialbank.com'.
A long while ago we migrated users from Fabrikam to SpecialBank via trusts. To facilitate access to Exchange, a new trust was created between Contoso and SpecialBank to allow us to update the LinkedMasterAccount parameter to the new Specialbank domain.
We have most of our users authenticating to their mailboxes via SpecialBank, while the mailboxes still reside in Contoso.
Migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013
I am attempting to now figure out the best way to migrate the mailboxes from Contoso to a new set of Mailbox servers in SpecialBank. This will also be an upgrade from Exchange 2007 (Current) to an Exchange 2013 installation.
The latest Service Packs and CUs are installed in both.
What would be the best procedure to move these mailboxes? To my knowledge, the current best practice/recommended way is to perform a user/SID migration from Contoso to SpecialBank. But I already have accounts in
SpecialBank that users are actively using.
I'm not opposed to doing a simple PST export from Contoso to SpecialBank, but we're looking at around 120 mailboxes. So I'm trying to make my life a little easier instead of spending a weekend here.
If I try to do it in batches, I need to figure out how to handle autodiscover and CAS. Since I'm creating an entirely new Exchange environment, I'm trying to limit what I place in the existing configuration. But I'm not opposed to setting up something temporarily
if I need to in order to make the migration transparent to users.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi ,
From you description i came to know contoso is the resource forest and special bank is the account forest .
You just wanted to migrate the linked mailboxes from resource forest to account forest and also you would want the migrated mailboxes to get merged to the respective user accounts in the account forest to become as a normal user mailbox.Am i right ?
Please correct me if i am wrong . I have found some blogs in internet please have a look in to that especially the first one.

  • Calling a stored procedure from a URL with production XE?

I have granted execute on a stored procedure to the user ANONYMOUS in order to allow it to be called from a URL. But I am getting a Forbidden error, rather than the expected execution of the procedure. Is there a trick to get this working in production XE?

I think I figured this out. I don't think the grant to ANONYMOUS is going to work with production XE and the online documentation is in need of an update. It appears that production XE has been locked down and you will need to specify the name of each stored procedure you wish to allow to be executed by adding it to the WWV_FLOW_EPG_INCLUDE_MOD_LOCAL function. This is spelled out in more technical detail here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/appdev.102/b25309/adm_wrkspc.htm#BEJCGJFJ
Another alternative that would work involves creating a separate DAD. Using the DAD approach with my schema made all of my stored procedures callable from a web browser, so I rejected this approach. To make this usable (secure) I would have needed to create and maintain a separate database user for the DAD and then only granted it execute for the stored procedures I wanted to be callable from a URL.
Finally I read about using an on-demand procedure and having it invoke the desired stored procedure. While I didn't try this out, it sounds like another good approach because it maintains session security. If it can be used to return an image I do not know.

  • Upgraded to Exchange 2007 - Problems with opening attachments in e-mail Treo700wx

We upgraded our server at work to Exchange 2007.  Ever since then, there have been multiple problems, on of which I am not able to open pdf files, excel or word files on my handheld 700wx.  Anyone else have this problem.  Talked with Verizon, they suggested downloading a new version of the pdf viewer.  That didn't work.  Looking for any suggestions.

    Hello!
Since your company is now using 2007, good chance you will need a Windows Mobile 6 and up phone.  Please install this update to get your phone to windows mobile 6.0:

  • Proper downgrade procedure from 7.1 to 7.0?

Motherboard died on lab machine running LabVIEW 7.0 vi.  I built new machine, reinstalled all hardware and mistakenly installed 7.1 instead of 7.0, not realizing that driver/dll issues would prevent old VI from running.  So, now I want to install 7.0.
Do I need to completely uninstall 7.1 and all ni*.* drivers from windows/system32/ first?  Or can I just install into a separate directory and have both versions on the system at the same time?
    Thanks!

You can install 7.0 side by side with 7.1. If you want to use the drivers (DAQmx, NI-VISA, etc) that came with 7.0, then you would have to first uninstall the drivers you installed with 7.1.
Exactly what kind of issues are you having with 7.1. The upgrade is generally painless.

  • PDF created from Office 2013 with Acrobat X doesn't have correct page size

We have a process of quickly creating PDFs along with combining several Word files to PDF by utilizing the "right click" on a Word file(s) to save as a PDF within Windows.  Many times, our page size in Word is 5.5 X 8.5 and it does not save actual page size once PDF is created by using the "right click" and defaults to 8 1/2 X 11.  Is there a way to fix this or edit a setting?  It works fine from within Word if you "Save as" or "Export" but we need the right click to save as actual page size.  Please help. It worked fine in all previous versions of Word/Office.  Thanks!

    Hi pwhite2315,
Could you please let me know what version of Acrobat are you using.
Try using 'Create PDF' option under Acrobat ribbon in your word file and check for the same.
Also, please open 'Preferences' for Acrobat PDFMaker and check what 'Conversion Settings' have you selected.
    Let me know.

  • Email attachments not exporting from outlook 2013 with Acrobat XI standard

I can't get my email attachments in Outlook 2013 to export along with the message.   I've got the option checked in the settings to include attachments, and I don't get an error message when the PDF is created.  But it includes the message only, regardless of whether it's set to output as a portfolio.  I'm using the latest version (11.0.10) of Acrobat XI.  Does anyone have a suggestion on what the problem might be and how I can fix it?  Thanks very much.

    Hey mikem750,
Once you convert the email to PDF, you have to click on Attachments under the Navigation pane. You can then save the attached file and then convert it to PDF format.
Choosing 'include attachments' option under conversion settings will simply include attachments (original format) along with the converted email message.
    Hope this information helps.

  • Upgrade procedure Logic 8 - 9 with Lion, how does it work?

    Hi,
so I have Logic 8 (yes, bought) and I find it doesn't work with Lion. The known workaround doesn't work neither because I got myself a new iMac with Lion on it, and Logic setup says I may not install. That's not cool.
So I wonder what happens if I buy the Logic 9 upgrade. Will I be able to install all the stuff (somehow) or do I need to buy the complete Logic 9 retail version?
    Thanks in advance.
    sgbrl

Before you install on each computer, put the dongle in first then run the installation routine.
You may install Logic Studio on up to two computers but you may not run it on more than one at a time. In fact, if the two computers are networked, you won't be able to run them on both at the same time.
Yes, you may swap as often as you like - there's no limitation, except that you must close down Logic on one before you start the other.
