Provision M4000 with Ops Center

what're the steps to Provision Sparc M4000 with Ops Center 12c.
I want build server with new OS Solaris 11.2 then build zones

Absolutely, you can use Ops Center to deploy any 3rd party application, scripts, TAR/ZIP files, configuration files and pre/post action scripts. After uploading those as 'Local Content', you can either deploy them through "View/Modify Catalog" under each OS asset, or use OS profile to automate the deployment of multiple components together.
Please review the following document about Local Content:

    Hello Kai,
I am not sure to completely understand your logs since they don't seem to be written in English but
could it be that you are using Firefox 4.0 ? ( only firefox 2 and 3 and IE 7 and 8 are supported ).
Also, do you have enough free RAM ( 1-2 GB ) on the browser's machine ?
Lastly, you can check the prerequisites with
    /var/opt/sun/xvm/OCDoctor/OCDoctor.sh ec-prereq force
    /var/opt/sun/xvm/OCDoctor/OCDoctor.sh --troubleshoot

  • Configuration issue with OPS Center installation on OEL 5 update 5

    Hi,
I have installed OPS Center 11g on an OEL 5 update 5. All prereqs, i think, is met and installation gives no warnings or errors.
When I try to access the web page to run the configuration wizard. It hangs with the "LOADING" message, after logon. And nothing more happens.
In the bottom left corner of the browser i have the DONE message. But an error behind.

  • How do I configure a basic LDAP to work with OPS Center?

I have Solaris 11 and have configured it a few ways with LDAP. The last setup I used Directory server with a proxy then added LDAP configs. I am having problem getting the clients working correctly but first I need to know if I can just configure LDAP without DSEE and allow OPS Center to control the users?
Chapter 9 of the Oracle Solaris Administration guide says DSEE is recommended but not required and points you to chapter 14. But I have been unable to figure out how to create the DN and Bind PW prior to configuring LDAP with IDSCONFIG. The OPS Center server is already in play so if configured correctly I should be able to talk to the LDAP server.
Does anyone know what set I am missing or whether it can be done without DSEE?

After contacting Oracle I was informed that there Documentation is misleading and that DSEE is required.
    From Oracle
"The statement "However, while using the Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition is recommended, it is not required", does not mean you can configure the Solaris native ldap client without a Directory Server. What the statement means is the Solaris native ldap client is not required to use the Oracle Directory Server, it is recommended, but the Solaris native ldap client can be setup to work with third party Directory Servers. The term "not required" is a reference to the use of the Oracle Directory Server vs a third party Directory Server."
The documentation does not state that Directory Server of any kind is required.

  • Deploying software with Ops Center

    Hi all,
OK, so Ops Center will provision an OS, patch the OS, and upgrade the OS, but is it also capable of deploying additional software after the OS is up and running ?
For example, packages for third party backup agents (TSM, Networker, Netbackup etc).
Basically, can I import non-OS packages into the software library, and create projects/plans to deploy those packages on remote hosts after the OS has been provisioned ?

  • Ops Center Network

    Hi expert,
    I just install OC 12.1.2.0
i have 2 proxy contoller: PC-A also become as EC and PC-B
    PC-A have network 230, 231 and 248
    PC-B have network 114 and 232
i have various asset with network segment 115, 117, 246, 224 and so on that is not exist in both of PCs.
i can ping and ssh to asset with network segment above from both of PCs.
    my question is :
    1. can we manage all asset segments, although their network segment don't exist in both PCs ? ...
is there any impact to OS provisioning ?
    2. is it OK, if SP network managed by PC-A and OS network covered by PC-B (they all in same machine), they all are in different network segment ? ....
for ex: Svr-A have SP network : 231 for SP and 114 for OS.
it's happen in my environment, i have asset with SP network segment 231 that actually covered by PC-A, but it always run to PC-B.
when i tried to migrate to PC-A from PC-B after discovery, OC said PC-A unreachable.
i check with manual ping and ssh from PC-A, asset with segment 231 are reachable.
for any help, i would thank you
    Wong.

Look at the "Managed Networks" feature: you can define a 10.250.20.x/24 network in Ops Center, and apply it to server1. When you add that new network you'll be asked what interface (i.e. bge1) you want it associated with. Once Ops Center knows about the 20 network, you can use it for things like zone/containers. (if you provisioned server1 with Ops Center this should have been done for you automatically, but there's some bugs in multi-NIC OS provisioning).
That's assuming you have distinct 10.250.10.x/24 and 10.250.20.x/24 networks... and you're not just using 10.250.x.x/16. It could be as simple as a subnet issue, where Ops Center thinks server1 is using 255.255.255.0 (10.250.10.x, so 20.x isn't valid) instead of 255.255.0.0 (where both 10.x and 20.x are valid IP ranges).

  • Storage Plugins for Ops Center Storage Discovery

Oracle VM provides for several vendor storage plugins when connecting to iSCSI storage.
Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center allows for discovery profiles but only has a SunZFS Storage Appliance SCSI plugin in its drop down, not even the Generic iSCSI plugin OVM uses.
Can the Oracle VM plugin be used with Ops Center?
What are the plans to support vendor specific storage plugins for Ops Center?
Is there a development guide for writing a storage plugin for Ops Center?

We had some discussions along the same lines in our organization, and it came down to SA's and DBA's requiring different toolsets and their comfort level with them. Of course, a lot of this was inherited from the hardware being Sun before it was merged into Oracle, but the situation remains. Also, the SA's came to the conclusion to use Ops Center before the DBA's got around to installing their management interface (we came from a script-based management environment) -- that has something to do with it as well.
If you get to start from the ground up, that's a slightly different matter.

  • Wanboot installation trhough OPS center

    Hi ,
Does somebody known how to install a remote server using with ops center ?
I've build a deployment plan with a flar archive using jet template
    Thanks

I believe it is suggested to NOT install both on the same server.  We have Ops Center installed on 1 VM guest and EM on another VM guest, but technically on the same physical box.

  • Can Ops Center forward or generate SNMP traps?

It's not clear to me what the enterprise controller for Ops Center 11g can do with SNMP traps. The Advanced User Guide says the EC can use "SNMP to discover assets" but that's about the most useful bit of information I can find. Can the EC receive and act on traps from agent hosts? Can it generate its own traps and send them on to a different managment host? If the EC can't do this by default, has anyone tried using any scripts?
    Thanks,

the last answer I received was to use the plugin with Oracle enterprise manager grid control / cloud control.
what they didn't say, but it is in the documentation, is that only critical events are shared between ops center and oem. Yes you can see the database targets in ops center, and you can see the infrastructure targets in oem, but notification wise, only criticals. An of course you need to install both the OEM and the ops center agent on the target/asset. I have found that the plugin for ops center 12c and oem 12c doesn't actually send through any information at all, it will probably be fixed in update 1, but who knows.
There is a 3rd party product, Halcyon, that can apparently integrate with ops center. I think they wrote an api.

    Hi,
I'm not familiar for OEM and OPS center.
    - Does it support install OEM12c and OEM12c ops center into same machine?
    - Would you please share any hardware / OS in OEM12c and OEM12c ops center?
    Thanks.

    Holger,
Thanks for the reply, that was useful.
I posted this message in service markeplace, and got a reply from SAP, and they do not have out of box solution. Since the project is on aggressive schedule, may be this issue, which involves lot of devlopment needs to tackle in next proect cycle.
Qustion regarding the Apache was also resolved. Reply from SAP is posted below.
    Thanks,
    Durga
    HI Mr Durga,
Can a user say "abc" can have different content displayed while he
    logins from Internet or intranet.
This feature is not provided with the standard Delivered NWO4 suite.
I would ask you to take this query in the sdn forum,as these type of
questions are answered by SAP consulting guys.
As far as multitenant EP is concerned,
Based on ramp-up experience and customer feedback, SAP has decided to
not release the IT scenario variant "Implementing a Multitenant Portal"
for general availability after SAP NetWeaver 2004s ramp-up.
    Refer to the documentation link

    Second question:
Does Apache installation is supported on the Virtual machine.
Installation of Apache as DMZ is not Recommended by SAP.
    SAP Recommends SAP Web Dispacher.
But SAP supports to a certain extend,if the client is using Apache.
Please refer to the attached Note

  • Does Ops Center 12c Release 1 PSU2 (update 2) work with T4 and solaris 11.1

From the release notes of Ops Center 12c Release 1 PSU2 (update 2)
Issues With Upgrading to Oracle Solaris 11.1
Oracle Solaris 11.1 is supported in Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12.1.2.0.0 but is not supported in prior versions of Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center. In addition, an issue with Oracle Solaris 11.1 prevents Oracle VM Server for SPARC management on Oracle SPARC T4 servers using the Oracle Solaris 11.1 OS. See the Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center Release Notes for more information.
Does any one know if there has been a fix for this yes

We were told this was actually a problem in OC not S11.1, and this was fixed in U2.
I know this contradicts with the other answer, but thats the info we received from Oracle.
