Provision Process Form - Propopulate Field Problem

Hi everyone,
I mentioned this problem last week in OTN.
AD provisioning - Prepopulate  Attributes
My problem is a bug and I found this bug.
Bug id : 14761208 in Oracle Support.
But there is no detail information on Oracle Support.
If this is bug and If I have to develop a button on provision form to fill prepopulate fields, how can I develop this button?
Thanks.
Best regards.

Hi Abhi,
Can you tell me how you have implemented populating an UDF based on Prepopulation of another UDF. I have a similar kind of requirement. It would be great if you share your code or relevant part of it.

  • Adobe Forms --Amount field Problem

    Hello All,
I have one clarification.I have one field called amount. Its value is taken as 0.00 from the table. I have to make it as blank.I have made it as blank to that field in display pattern properties by setting as * in adobe designer. This is suitable for print form. In case of interactive form how can this be done to achieve the functionality. If the value is given from the other side to the amount value its not taking since in display pattern it has been set as *.Can anybody help me out in this issue.
This is very urgent.I will reward you with points.
    Thanks,

    Indrakaran,
Well you can try this one in initialize event in LiveCycle Designer. Change the language to javascript.:-
    xfa.host.messageBox("Raw Value is : " + DMBTR.rawValue); // This will just give a alert box.
    if(DMBTR.rawValue == "0.00")
       xfa.host.messageBox("Value is 0.00");
       DMBTR.rawValue = "";

  • Problem while populating a field on process form- Values truncated

    Hi,
I am facing a strange problem.
I have a requirement to populate Country field on AD process form based on the value of country code on the same process form which should eventually go to 'co' attribute in AD. So for eg. if the Country Code has value- 'US' then the Country field should be populated with 'United States'. This value is picked from lookup- Lookup.Locations.Country.
My adapter code works perfectly fine (checked using sysouts) it gets the proper values from the lookup but the country filed gets populated only with partial value. So instead of United States it only shows 'UNIT'. Same is for any country having more than 4 charatcters. It truncates the rest of the string and populates the field with only first 4 characters. I tried manually populating the Country field with complete country name on the process form and it works fine and the same value goes to AD also but when I run the adapter it only populates it with 4 charactetrs.
This is strange and I have no clue what could be stopping it. Any idea/experiences?
    Thanks in advance,
    -Abhi

  • How to restrict the modification of a process form field.

    Hi,
Is there a way out to restrict the modification of a process form field.
I have a process form field loginid which can not be updated in a target. I want to achieve the same in OIM. I have not created any update task for the field but if the user changes the loginid field then it is getting saved in the OIM database and hence any operation thereafter is falling.
    Thanks

    Hi Kevin.
    I really appreciate your help.
But I tested your configuration in our environment and it doesn't work. The same error (The Resource has not been configured properly) is displayed when I try a provisioning for that resource. Anyway, we could not use this configuration here, because end-users shall have the option to change some values in their process form.
I don't know why, but seems that when I define any field as Display-Only, the prepopulate adapter runs in a post-insert schedule and a error is given cause it try to fulfill a display-only field, which is not allowed.
I try an alternative configuration, which works properly:
    - keep the field User ID as Text Field.
    - use the prepopulate adapter to populate this field with the User Login (previously defined in the User Definition form)
    - delete the property "required = true" to this field
    - set property "visible = false" to this field
In this way, the end-users can modify the other fields, except User ID. Otherwise, they never will can see their own User IDs while making a request. For new users it will not be a problem because their User Login (on User Definition) and User ID (on Process Form) will be exactly the same, but for users that already exists in the target system, this values will be different which can originate small issues.
Until achieve an understanding about why a display-only field can not be filled by an pre-populate adapter, I will use this setting above.

  • New process form field not showing in previously provisonned user's process

    Hello,
I added a new field to my AD process definition to map a new attribute (division) and made that new version active.
I created the needed process task and pre-populate adapter so that this field is being provisoned upon crete and update in target resource.
I also updated the TRIGGERS lookup to fire the process task upon update.
    Works fine so far.
I now have a major problem : previously provisioned users still show the "old process form" and have no "division" field available. Therefore, when I update the division field in the user definition, it fires the process task but that task cannot write to the process form field. Am I stuck for these users with this old process form?? Can I update to the new one (obviously, revoking and re-provisionning is not an option since I DON'T wan to delete the user account even for a few seconds...)
    Thanks for your help.

To update your previously provisioned users to your new form, you must use the Form Version Control Utility. There are a lot of posts within the forum about using it. Here's a link to the Oracle documentation to learn more about the utility.

  • Error while updating Date Field on Process Form.

    Hi,
I am using java code to pre-pop date on the process form.First I used a java code whic took java.sql.date as input and returned the same java.sql.date.But it gave an error that:java.lang.String cannot be converted to java.sql.date.......
So I changed the java code and now it takes string as input and returns java.sql.date. This code works fine for Pre-pop adapter and the date is populated on the process form.
But when i use the same code in a Process Task adapter to update the date, then it gives the following error:
ERROR [ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)' XELLERATE.ADAPTERS - Class/Method: tcAdpEvent/updateDataSetValuePost encounter some problems: Adapter Execution Error: updateDataObjFieldValuePost: error updating UD_OID_USR_DATE_OF_BIRTH
    ERROR [ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)' XELLERATE.ADAPTERS - Class/Method: tcAdpEvent/updateDataSetValuePost encounter some problems: {1}
Can anyone suggest any method to update date field on process form?

  • Provision from Process form

I have a process form which has fileds like fname, lname and a lookup filed roles which queries the code decode key from the custom db table
The fname and lname I can provision easily to the database table but with fname and lname I also need to provison the code value in roles lookup to the database table.
Any idea how can I approach this?
Edited by: watisoim on May 26, 2010 5:33 AM

    Martin,
    Thanks for your reply.
when u say custom "*custom task that does the lookup conversion and then writes to a hidden field on the process form that then writes down into the database* ",can u please xplain a little more on this
Now for this.I tried the below approach
1.created acode which will populate the looup values from my custom db table
2.Now while coniguring the GTC I specified Roles filed as lookup and lookup property as the name of the lookup.
3.Now when I click on binoculors sign it selects the decode value in the filed, but when provisioned it provisions the code value rather than decode value which I actually want.
Also If I have a value in a process form,is there a way I can see if the same value is provisioned to target resource while its getting provisioned and not in target system?
    Cheers!!

  • OIM user defined field in process form

I am trying to create a user defined field (UDF) in a process form. The UDF would be a drop down list of values for the status field.
I've tried to do this by going to the Administration list, and double clicking on User Defined Field Definition. Then selecting the Form Designer. I can add a column but I cannot add values to the drop down. I know I'm probably doing this wrong.
How do I add a UDF drop down and its values to a process form?
    Thanks!

    1. Create lookup table for the drop down contents.
2.In the process form--->go to the properties tab-->select the User defined filed name-->add property--->property Name drop down list -->select lookup code-->in the property value-->provide the lookup table name-->save

  • How to read User ID from the request Form and pre populating in the AD User process form before provisioning

I am trying to read the user Id from the submitted AD User request form( Catalogue AD User form. I need User Id,firstname and lastname inorder to prepopulate the common name as in this format - lastname, firstname (userid)  for the user to be provisioned in Active Directory.
So after filling the AD User request form with User Id and Organization and submitting the request, I am trying to
prepopulate the common name in the process form before the provisioning.
The prepopulate adopter for the common name is configured to read the firstname, lastname and userid. firstname and
lastname variables are mapped to User definition and user Id is mapped to Process Data. In this setup I am not getting the
User Id value from process data, it is empty.
Is this a bug with OIM 11g R2 or I need to do it differently in order to read the user Id that user has entered in the
request form for populating the common name?
    Thanks

How to get USER_ID and IP_AddressWhy exactly do you need this data and what do you plan to do with it?
The data is not reliable and trustworthy. IP addresses can easily be spoofed (a few seconds if you know what to do and how to do it). Also, IP addresses are not static. Users also do not use the same network device to access the database - different devices will have different IP addresses.
The o/s user on the client is supplied by the client driver. This can also be spoofed.
The user can also use a virtualised device - which means that recording the IP and o/s user seen from the server side, is pretty much useless and meaningless.
So if this data is intended to be used for auditing for example - it would be pretty suspect data to use for that purpose.

  • Lookup Field with a Lookup Query on Process Form in OIM 11gR2

Does anyone know how to render a field on a process form so that when modifying the field for the resource a "Search and Select" window appears and allows the user to search for the value based on the lookup query defined for the field in Design Console? The lookup field has been defined as a lookup query through Design Console and tested by previewing the form in DC. When creating the Form through OIM System Administration the field is created as a Text Field, not a Lookup. Creating a new Field through OIM System Administration only allows you to create the field using a lookup code not using a lookup query. I've tried to remove / add the field in the UI (create sandbox, customize, etc.) and add it back as a Input LOV but it doesn't get added and the error in the logs say java.lang.RuntimeException: Input LOV is not supported for this attribute, please make this attribute searchable in order to drop this as an input LOV. The field is defined as searchable in the Form Designer in OIM System Administration. In fact I can't even add it back as an ADF Input Text Field w/ Label, I suspect I'll have to "Regenerate" the form to even get it back on the form. Any help is appreciated. Next step is to try to export the sandbox, massage and import.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Finally got an answer out of Oracle after trying to figure this out as well. Apparently Lookup Queries are not supported at all by the R2 Web UI. They indicate that according to product management this will not be fixed.

  • Update OIM field with process form fields

    Hi,
I have configured AD as a target resource to my OIM. Now i have a requirement to update few fields of OIM , on the basis of change in the fields of process form when target recon will run. For this, as per my understanding i can use the post insert/post update adapter. I wrote the adapter code as well. But when now i am running the recon against my resource, and updating the field, it couldn't even run the adapter as nothing has been written in logs (not even the println statements mentioned in adapter code :( ). Could anyone please tell me where i am missing.

    Hi,
I did create a task and assign it on "Event Processed" (Response) under reconciliation insert recieved and reconciliation update recieved. Now when i tried to run recon it is giving me error while processing the recon event. Error is "An error occured while processing the off lined reconciliation event. [xellerate.jms] processing reconciliation message with id <recon event id> failed" . Am i missing something.... Please help
    TIA

    Hi Experts,
I have changed the label name of "AD Server" to "Active Directory (AD) Resource" in the process form (UD_ADUSER) by creating a new version. But still the process form displays the old label name "AD Server". Its not displaying the new label name.

You need to use the Form Version Control utility. Then switch all the user's to the new one. You can also provide what the default value should be for the field. The documentation should provide you the details.
Or you can use SQL and update all the users to the correct IT Resource, but remember it will be a long value.

You could create a generic service which reads all the form fields and convert them to upper case
    using TRANSLATE command.
Another option is to enhance the based feeder class cl_hrasr00_fpm_feeder.
    Hope this helps.
