Proxy account for Cache group creation
i have a customer that wants to use a proxy account on the database to create timesten cache group. Schema_owner owns all the base tables and app_user has select, insert, delte, update privs on the base tables as well as private synonym. Customer wants to use app_user account to configure cache connect setting and create cache groups. Is this possible and supported?
thanks
It depends on the type of cache group that you are creating. The quick start section of the TimesTen Cache Connect Guide (cacheconnect.pdf) gives full details of the type of Oracle users required, and the privileges they must have.

SQL agent proxy account for Powershell
I am trying to use a sql agent proxy account for PowerShell. Created the ad account, credential and the proxy but because the PowerShell accesses a bunch o sql servers it errors out.Even when I created a login for all the sql servers the powershell is trying
to access it still failed so next I'd need to look at what permissions the powershell ad account needs to the objects it accesses. Is this the correct approach?
What is the best way to go here and avoid using a sysadmin account to run the sql agent powershell job? Thanks!
PaulaHi,
Please check the error message in job history for details of job failed.
Sysadmin is required or not depends on what you want to achieve on the SQL Server. For example, to execute sp_readerrorlog, the login must be a member of the securityadmin role and it is not required sysadmin.
It does need to create the login(proxy account) on the all the SQL Server instances.
A SQL Server Agent Proxy defines the security context under which different job steps run. The proxy contains the credentials of a Windows user account that does have access to the resources needed by the job. If you have a proxy specified in a job step, SQL
Server Agent will impersonate the proxy account and run the job step while impersonating that user account.
In order to find out the required permission, you may log in with this Windows user account(proxy credential) and run the PowerShell on the local machine and see the result. Alternately, connect in SQL Server Management Studio with this login and see what
permission is required to execute the script.
Thanks.

Expense Account for Item Group
Dear All,
I have a question for the G/L account of Item Group.
If we purchase something from our vendor, the first account 'Expense Account' should be increase. Is that correct?
But our customer would like to have a Asset Account increase because that item group is for Fixed Asset (something like the computer they purchase for their employee, etc).
What account should I choose for this Item Group to let the Asset Account increase when I purchase something?
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
yukaHi
I read all the post
I may be wrong but
I think just change the Inventory account for that item group if the G/L Accounts are set by item group
If it is by warehouse change Inventory account there ,or if by item level change there
I donu2019t know where expense account comes
I will explain in full
For GRPO the JE is
Inventory account Dr. 100
To Allocation Account Cr. 100
For A/P IN it is
Allocation Account Dr. 100
To Vendor Account 100
So it simple if you change inventory account (instead of raw material ) to any Asset Account
The asset account will be updated with every purchase of that item
Please let me know if I am right or wrong so that I can also upgrade my knowledge
Thanks

Creating management accounts for protected accounts and groups in Active Directory
I'm following step-by-step instruction for creating management accounts for protected groups that I found in Microsoft book "Best Practise for Securing Active Directory", published april 2013.
What is confusing me is the "Enabling management accounts to modify the membership of protected groups" step. When I use DSACLS command:
Dsacls "CN=AdminSDHolder,CN=System,DC=MyDomain,DC=com"/G
[email protected]:RPWP;member
what I have to type insted of "member".
When I use previous command with simple "member" at the end I dont get this:
Verify that the account has been granted only Read Members and
Write Members permissions on the DA group, and click OK.
My account have flag on all properties.
I hope You understand me.The last field is for the attribute to delegate. You can read about it here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772662%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
You can also refer to this for updating AdminSDHolder container: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/22331.adminsdholder-protected-groups-and-security-descriptor-propagator.aspx

Unable to create cache groups from CASE-SENSITIVE oracle table's name
Hello All
I have some case-sensitive tables in a oracle database and their columns are the same too. I've tried to cache these tables into TimesTen under a read-only cache group. I think timesten cannot find
case-sensitive tables because as soon as I changed name of the tables, the creation could succeeded. What can I do to overcome this issue? I don't want lose case-sensitive feature. Is it because of

Thanks for your answer. I'm using SQL Developer(both graphical and by command) to manage Timesten db. When I'm about to select root table for cache group i can see the table and when I

Creation of GL account under main group and sub a/c group
my name is swetha,
my clint is asking for creation of GL account in the following manner
under account group a sub account group, and under sub account group a GL account .
like
account group (ex: loans)
sub account group (ex: vehical loans)
GL account (ex: HDFC bank GL vehical loans)
could you please help me to configure if it is possible, if not plz suggest me the alternate options. thanks in advance.hi Swetha,
one thing remember u can create all G/L Accounts as one Group but these sub groups are define in FSV so you can tell them first we can create on group that is loans but at the time of FSV u can define number of sub groups because gl master account groups are using for number controlling purpose only.what ever groups u are define in FSV that groups only comes at the time of reports ok. -
Request for the creation of a new Unemployment account for tax
Hi Guys,
This is a question with regard to US tax. We have received a request for the creation of a new Unemployment account for the payment of taxes. This is because the account assignment number has changed for a particular company code in Tennassee state. Please let me know where this change could be made in SAP.
Thanks,
SubbaiahSubbaiah,
Table T5UTL is used for New Tax Company Codes. If this is a new legal entity, youu2019ll need to set up the Tax Company here. Youu2019ll also need to assign at least one Personnel Area to this new Tax Company. This must be established in order to update the next table shown below, but only if itu2019s a new legal entity. The user will know.
Table T5UTH is for establishing the account number to be used in BSI. It must be established in order to update the next table shown below.
Table T5UTI is for assigning account numbers by Tax Company Code. Youu2019ll need one for Tax Authority TN, Tax Type 10. The user will need to supply this information to you.
Table BTXRATE will need to be updated with the Tax Company Code, year, and the State Unemployment Insurance rate & taxable wage amount.
Once this is done, youu2019ll need to update BSI.
If Tennessee is a new state, youu2019ll have work to do with the tax models.

Problem creating cache group for a table with data type varchar2(1800 CHAR)
Hi,
I am using TimesTen 7.0 with Oracle 10.2.0.4 server. While creating Cache Group for one of my table I'm getting the following error.
5121: Non-standard type mapping for column TICKET.DESCRIPTION, cache operations are restricted
5168: Restricted cache groups are deprecated
5126: A system managed cache group cannot contain non-standard column type mapping
The command failed.
One of my filed type in oracle table is Varchar2(1800 CHAR). If I change the filed size to <=1000 it (E.g. Varchar2(1000 CHAR)) then the Create Cache command works fine.
MyDatabase Character Set is UTF8.
Is it possible to solve without changing the filed size in the Oracle Table?
Request your help on this.
Thanks,

ICR Process 003 - Running Data Selection for Accounts without a Group CoA
Hi Everyone,
I am getting an error "Account 'CoCode'/xxxxxxxxxxx: Group Account Number could not be determined" on the reconciliation of some accounts when I run FBICS3.
Currently, the operating chart of accounts is not assigned to a Group Chart of Accounts. This may change after Go Live u2013 for instance due to consolidation requirements. But for now we are without group CoA.
I am wondering if this is a requirement for the ICR program to have this field active on the GL master data and populated?
If not, is it possible then to switch off the error message or change the settings somewhere so that the error is not generated?
How will this effect accounts without a group account number?
I've included a link a screenshot below

Setting a particular value as default for the Grouping Range at BP Creation
Hi,
I am trying to set certain default for the Grouping Range when I create a new Bp using Tcode BP. For this i have changed the PBC fucntion for the view BUP020 ( TCode : BUS3). The Z function module attached is Z_FBSBP_SET_DEFAULT_GROUPING
FUNCTION z_fbsbp_set_default_grouping.
""Local interface:
*" IMPORTING
*" REFERENCE(IV_ACTION) LIKE BUS000FLDS-CHAR1
*" REFERENCE(IV_SICHT) TYPE BU_SICHT
DATA: lv_bu_group TYPE bu_group VALUE 'GR01'.
Set the Grouping Range with a default value for all roles, each time
when transaction BP is called
SET PARAMETER ID 'BPP' FIELD lv_bu_group.
Call the standard PBC fucntion module for BP Creation
CALL FUNCTION 'BUP_BUPA_PBC_MISC'
EXPORTING
i_action = iv_action
i_sicht = iv_sicht.
ENDFUNCTION.
As per my notion this fucntion module should get triggered once I open the transaction BP and try to create a new BP, but such a thing is not happening.
Can someone help me in this?
Regards
PriyankaYes we did,
But its not a very good solution though it serves the purpose.
See what I did was:
1. Read the authorization object's values for the logged on user using SUSR_USER_AUTH_FOR_OBJ_GET. From here I retrieve the Grouping Range required for the user.
2. Keep this value in a variable say gv_grouping_range.
3. SET PARAMETER ID 'BPP' FIELD gv_grouping_range.
4. CALL TRANSACTION 'BP'.
The four steps above have been enclosed in a report which has been attached to a new transaction code. We from now on allow user an access to this new transaction and not the standard BP transaction(which of course calls for a major change in roles).
Secondly, the first three steps which have been enclosed in a subroutine set_default_grouping are also called from the BDT view BUP050, where the PBO has been changed to ZBUP_BUPA_PBO_MISC
FUNCTION zbup_bupa_pbo_misc .
""Local interface:
*" IMPORTING
*" VALUE(I_SICHT) TYPE BU_SICHT
PERFORM get_set_def_grouping IN PROGRAM zrpbsbp_create_businesspartner.
CALL FUNCTION 'BUP_BUPA_PBO_MISC'
EXPORTING
i_sicht = i_sicht.
ENDFUNCTION.
Hope this helps.

Can a read-only cache group be created using union all query ?
The result set of the cache group should contain both schema records in timesten read-only cache group will it be possible ?
Will there be any performance issue? You cannot create a cache group that uses UNION ALL. The only 'query' capability in a cache group definition is to use predicates in the WHERE clause and these must be simple filter predicates on the tables in the cache group.
Your best approach is to create separate cache groups for these tables in TimesTen and then define one or more VIEWS using UNION ALL in TimesTen in order to present the tables in the way that you want.

Which kind of cache group is suitable for the intensive insertion operation
Hi Chris, sorry for call you directly. Because you give me many good answers about my many newbile questions these days:)
You told me that the dynamic cache group is not suitable for the intensive insertion operation
because each INSERT to a child table has to perform an existence check against Oracle even if load the cache group into RAM manually(Please correct me if wrong).
Here I have many log tables that they only have a primary key and no foreign references and they are basically used to reflect changes from the related main tables.
Every insert/update/delete on the main table will insert a log record in the related logging table(No direct foreign references).
In order to cache these log tables, I have to create a independent cache group for each one, right?
I do not want load these logs data into RAM because my application do not use them or these logs will waste my RAM clearly.
so here comes my question.Which kind of cache group should I use to gain the best performance with no loading them into RAM?
As my understand, the dynamic cache group load data on demand while the regular cache group need load all the data into RAM firstly and it won't load data from oracle anymore?
Thanks in advance
SuoNayiLet me be more specific. Consider this cache group:
CREATE DYNAMIC ASYNCHRONOUS WRITETHROUGH CACHE GROUP CG_SWT
FROM
TPARENT
PPK NUMBER(8,0) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
PCOL1 VARCHAR2(100)
TCHILD
CPK NUMBER(6,0) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
CFK NUMBER(8,0) NOT NULL,
CCOL1 VARCHAR2(20),
FOREIGN KEY ( CFK ) REFERENCES TPARENT ( PPK )
INSERTS into TPARENT will not do any existence check in Oracle. An INSERT INTO TCHILD has to verify that the corresponding parent row exists. If the parent row exists in TimesTen then no check is doen in Oracle. If the parent row does not exist in TimesTen then we have to check if it exists in Oracle and if it does we will load it into TimesTen from Oracle (along with any other child rows) before completing the INSERT in TimesTen. So in the case where the parent always exists already in TimesTen there is no overhead but on the other case there is a lot of overhead.
If your log table is truly not related to the main table (not in TT and not in Oracle either) then they should go into separate cache groups. If each insert into the log table has a unique key and there is no possibility of duplicates then you do not need to load anything into RAM. You can start with an empty table and just insert into it (since each insert is unique). Of course, if you just keep inserting you will eventually fuill up the memory in TimesTen. So, you need a mechanism to 'purge' no longer needed rows from TimesTen (they will still exist in Oracle of course). There are really two options; investigate TimesTen auotmatic aging (see documentation) - thsi may be adeuate of the insert rate is not too high - or implement a custom purge mechanism using UNLOAD CACHE GROUP (see documentation).
