PS image jumps

Hope I can be brief and clear.
Track 1-3 sec.-Animated background begins
Track 2-1 sec.-Still frame begins. Opacity 100% at 3 sec. drops to 0% at 5 sec.
Track 3-1 sec.-PS cutout of people from still frame begins.
The effect is to make the background of the people on track 2 fade away to reveal the animated background. Between 1 sec. and 3 sec. the PS cutout moves down several pixels. At the frame the animated background begins on track 1, the PS image on track three jumps back to it's original position. I once fixed this problem by changing the 100% opacity keyframe on track 2 to 99.9%. Starting track 1 at 1 sec. also works, but I never had to do this in the past. Is this an annoying bug that only I have? The background is a Digital Juice that is 720 x 486 if that matters.

The output is DV. It's a mismatch, but it used to work without this problem. I can work around it, it's just one of several odd quirks I've found. I recently switched from FCP3 on a G4 to FCP5 on a MacPro. The quirks are annoying, but the jump in speed is amazing.

  • After selecting an image in Library mode (grid view), my selection of image jumps to another image.

    Through several versions of Lightroom, I have encountered this problem.  I choose an image in Library mode while in Grid view and the image jumps to another that I have not chosen.  This happens about 75% of the time.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Does anyone know of a remedy.  I am using a Mac.

    You are using the Option key to access the Library under the Go finder Menu?
    Click in the Go menu the hold the Option key and you will see Library appear, otherwise is is hidden.

  • Tag_relatedproducts image jumps on 1st click & then links to correct image on 2nd click

    tag_relatedproducts image jumps on 1st click & then links to correct image on 2nd click - strange coding glitch! Should link to correct image on 1st click (& not jump) http://meluka.worldsecuresystems.com/bedroom/Drawers/chest-of-drawers-42 Was functioning correctly

    It looks like those related images are being affected by your zoom script that lets you zoom the main product image.  In your page template or page you have this code:
    jQuery(document).ready(function(){
        jQuery('div.image img').wrap('<span style="display:inline-block"></span>').css('display', 'block').parent().zoom({on:'click'});
    You likely added this to make your main product images capable of zooming.  I bet this all started acting weird when you put the zoom effect in.  Basically, your jQuery above is saying, "Find any IMG element in my DIV with the class of "image" and do some stuff like wrap a span, update the css and execute the zoom behavior on the image's parent element"
    The problem is that your related products are inside your div.image container so that jQuery call is affecting those images too.
    You have two options:
    Move your {tag_relatedproducts} tag outside or after the div.image. That should solve it.
    OR update your zoom image jQuery statement above from jQuery('div.image img") to jQuery("#zoom img") which is more specifically targeting the #zoom link which should only have the main product image in it
    Good luck!

  • Image "Jumps" During Adjustment

    When I am adjusting an image in Lightroom (in the Develop module) the image seems to grow a few pixels and then shrink back as LR makes adjustments. This seems to happen during most adjustments including Exposure, Black, Brightness, and Contrast. Anyone else seeing this? Not a serious issue at this point as the adjusts seem to work as expected. Just a bit irritating to have the image jump each time an adjustment is made.

    Hi Sean,
    I notice that Photoshop seems to process the image in blocks and maybe that is the mechanism PS uses rather than pixel doubling. The time is takes to process all the blocks in the image is insignificant on my machine. For me, the jumpiness caused by pixel doubling in LR is more visually annoying than the block processing used by PS. Tony S_ suggested that is might be possible to use pixel doubling but not have the image jump. That would be one solution if it's possible. I suppose another might be to allow users to select pixel doubling or block processing as a preference.

  • Image jumping about? Please help!

    Hello,
    I am pretty new to Flash and I have created a short animation
    using stop motion animation. I set up all my key frames, added my
    images and did my upmost best to align them with the top left hand
    corner of the stage. However when I play the animation then the
    whole image jumps about a bit, rather than just the intended
    animation!
    Hope someone can advise me here, I am sure it's probably
    quite simple, snap to stage or something?? I just can't work it
    out.
    Thank you in advance!
    Kirsty :)

    For drawing your component the best of all would be using Canvas component and double buffering.
    JPanel and othen Swing components using its own methods for paint and not necessarily draw components how would you like.
    Example:
    <code>
    class MyPainter extends Canvas {
    Image hand = ...;
    public void update(Graphics g) {
    this.paint(g);
    public void paint(Graphics g) {
    Dimension size = this.getSize();
    Image painter = createImage(size.width, size.height);
    Graphics g2 = painter.getGraphics();
    g2.drawImage(hand, 0, 0, this);
    g2.drawPoligon(...);
    g.drawImage(g2, 0, 0, this);
    </code>
    If you make applet you must cleat graphics g2 and image painter.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Help with image jumping around the screen

    I'm using a trial version of Elements 10 that I'm interested in buying it but 50% of the time when I click on an image so that I can click and drag it around the screen, it jumps off the screen.  I have been using Elements 6 and never had this problem and it is super frustrating.  I'm using a laptop and thought maybe it was my touchpad so i got a mouse and it is still doing the same thing.  Is there a way to fix this problem?  I will stick with Elements 6 if this can't be fixed as it takes me twice as long to edit images since the layers are jumping around and I keep have to kit the "undo" button.

      The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. If resetting all tools doesn’t work you may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts.
    Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst double clicking on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
    You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
    Click on Yes
    Close down Elements and re-open it in the normal way - then wait whilst it rebuilds the preferences.

  • Images Jump Around in Book Module - Has anyone seen this happen?

    I have about 45 tiff files in a book collection saved in the Book module.  Once I added the last few pages, images on one page swapped with images on another page.  In addition, an extra page (images on each side, really two pages)  with the same photos would appear causing me to have duplicate pages.

    I'm having the same problem, and sometimes it jumps to my entire lightroom casche and I have odd images within my book.  I have to go back to "Library" and get my quick collection.  The other thing I notice is that the text adjustment icon doesn't work most of the time, and then when it does work, the program freezes and I need to call on my task manager to close the program.  The padding controls won't stay where I've set them.  If I unlink to move text down only, it stops working, and sometimes it will also freeze.
    Another thing related to "Book" is I can't go back to get another image and add it to my collection once I have saved my book.  It only remembers the images I used at the time I saved, so I have to start all over.
    I know this is a Beta, but hopefully these things will be fixed.  I think it consumes a tremendous amount of RAM, so response is extremely slow, and I have a LOT of RAM.

  • Resized image jumps

    Hi,
    I have an image I added 5 cm width to extend to the right in PS.
    When I updated in ID it jumped to the right instead of staying centred. I figured out this was becuase of the Fitting Frame Alignment not being centred?
    However, it also changes the proportions of the image from 105% to approx 87%.
    At a guess, its fitting the image proportinally, but Fitting on Empty Frame is set to none.
    I know its not an empty frame but I can't think where else to check.
    In short, I want to update images without anything jumping...
    Thanks

    Remember, if there is any type of internal change in link file than always update the link, but if you change the size of linked file, then you should place a new file again because if you update the link then it adjusts the size according to box. Place new file and be tension free :-)

  • Images jumping when DVD played on TV

    I am working on a DVD slideshow project where the quality of the visual images is top priority. I am using digital photos stored in iPhoto.
    I have made 4 short versions to compare the quality of the final products:
    1. used iMovie (varied transitions and times per slide) to build the slideshow then exported to iDVD and burned to disc. (I did not let iMovie render.)
    2. built the slideshow in iPhoto (varied transitions), exported to QuickTime Movie, then to iMovie and finally to iDVD.
    3. built the slideshow in iPhoto and exported to iDVD from there.
    4. used iDVD to build the entire slideshow from the iPhoto album: chose "page flip" as the transition.
    The KBE was off in each case.
    Version #4 looked the best on the computer monitor and so I went one step further with this one and added music - a piece stored in iTunes Library.
    All four versions were burned onto the same disc and all four played smoothly on the computer; however, when I played the disc on my television, the images in version #4 'jumped' - each image was clear for only about a second. The television is HD.
    Is there an explanation, and hopefully a fix, for this problem? Since the only difference between version #4 and the other three is the addition of an audio track, would that have created the problem?

    I'm not sure why that is happening. You could try reburning at a lower speed and changing your disk brand to another high quality brand like Maxell or Verbatim. Make sure you have at least 10GB free disk space to burn. I doubt that the music is the cause, but you could try changing or eliminating that too, as well as eliminating or changing the transition. To adjust your burn speed you would need to save your iDVD project as a Disk Image (from the File menu), and then burn it using the Utilities/Disk Utility app on your Mac. (When you open the Disk Utility window, if your iDVD project is not displayed in the left hand pane, then drag it in there. Select it and burn.) On my computer, the burn speed defaults to 4x, which is slow enough. Alternatively, you could burn using another program like Roxio Toast, that gives you more burn speed options.
    You've done some handy research, and perhaps you could share your findings. Which of the methods that you used produced the clearest images in the final burned project when you played back your DVD on your TV? (Obviously you were having trouble with the iDVD one, but you might get it working.) Others have remarked that iDVD slide shows display better on computer preview playback, but I have not seen any comments as to whether the final burned product on DVD plays any clearer than slideshows created in iPhoto or iMovie.
    Sorry I can't be more help. Perhaps others on this forum will comment.

  • Image jumping just before transition

    I'm using iDVD and still images (ie JPEGS) to make slideshows for burning onto DVD and playing on the television, I find that it's ok apart from a very slight jump or shake in the image just before the transition between images. Is this a problem with iDVD or the way it's burnt to disk?
    PS I've noticed that if I make the slidehow up in iPhoto and export the whole slideshow into iDVD it seems ok - it just seems a long way round when I could l do it all in iDVD.

    can you put a screenshot of your timeline with the still images on it here ???? that might help us see what your transistions
    are doing etc...tell us more about what transition you're using ( cross dissolve ? ..) stuff like that...

  • Help! still images "jumping" at transition

    i'm using imovie to make a slideshow style project, so i've made all of my images still (no effects or transitions). however, certain photos will "jump" for a split second when the image first appears. how can i fix this?

    Hey Brian,
    I seem to vaguely remember you pointing this out once before. It's good to be reminded that increasing still cache reduces the available RAM for other FCP processes. Thanks.
    Hi Alex,
    When I mention bringing your whites to 90%, I don't mean the opacity. You can use the 3-way-color-corrector to bring your white levels down. The 3-way color corrector is a great tool, and it would serve you well to get familiar with it. The manual is helpful and there are lots of quick reference tutorials available on line from folks like Larry Jordan for instance.

  • Only in Firefox, screen image jumps around.

    It is happening as I write this. Very annoying.

    You could try updating all of your add-ons first, and restarting firefox, but I'd try a different monitor first. No clue why only firefox would dim though...
    There's an experimental add-on called black out that dims firefox but it doesn't look like you're running it.
    If you want to cover all of your bases, open the device manager - and have windows check for display driver updates by right clicking it. Could be some strange driver bug.
    You could also check your power settings, and tell Windows not to dim the screen - although what you're describing doesn't sound like Windows dimming the screen.
