PS3 Throttling
I've just switched from AOL to BT (BIGGEST MISTAKE). Although BT is faster, the service, throttling, connection, and price is so bad. Anyhoo.. why does BT keep dropping my PS3 connection whilst multiplaying? Call of duty MW2 wont even connect, and Black-Ops disconnects every 5 minutes. I will gladly pay more money if it meant I can play PS3 online but what package do I go for which doesn't scam you with throttling/disconnecting you?
I was paying AOL for 4 years trouble free with NO DOWNLOAD limits and no hassle. I paid for a service and they delivered it. Simple.
Take a look here and see if it helps Wireless Help
For gaming you should really have a direct cable connection, wireless is not really suitable.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

GT 70 0NE. GPU throttling
Recently took to repair GT70 0NE. The video card was defective. Graphics card was replaced with a new one (I think).
And so. In video games it heated to 93 degrees and turn on throttling. In all games. I'm shocked.
This problem has been to repair and thereafter. Laptop clean.
What do you think?Hrm, see if your GPU continues to throttle if you go in to the nVidia Control Panel and then go to Manage 3D Settings and under Global Settings look for Power Management Mode if its on Adaptive change it to Prefer Maximum Performance, That usually fixes it on my desktop.
On my Laptop GT70 OND I just hit the turbo button and it maxes the nVidia GPU to 666MHz(only when plugged in, working as designed). I also leave it on Adaptive on my laptop as it can easily kill my battery in half the time on PMP.
For the heat issues, did you use the grain of rice method when applying the thermal past or did you use a card and spread it out?
I find that the grain of rice method makes things get warmer than using a card to spread it out, you can try that, I replaced the TIM on my GT70 and was able to drop temps like 4-5 C. (using MX-4)
Also is your fan speeding up when playing games? If not you may need to reset your EC. (I think its pull the battery for like 30 seconds(would wait longer) then power back on). If playing a decently powered game you should expect to see temps around the 70C mark (like heaven benchmark) or if I play Borderlands 2 for about 3 hours I see my GPU is running around 58-60C. It really depends on the temperature of the room I'm in. I don't know about the ONE but on my OND I have a button to force the fan to run at 100% and I can watch my temps drop super fast except my system is about as loud a a jet plain.
FWIW, Intel states the CPU can run at 105C.
Most nVidia GPUs can run at the 90C mark but typically max at 100C. I would really tear that heat sync off and re-do the TIM. Make sure you use something nice. Also play a few games, Heaven has the problem of being a benchmark, its ment to torture your GPU and get it hot. I could probably reproduce those temps on my system. Just remember games don't force your GPU to run that intensively. If I start FurMark I have got my GPU to get to 95C then the fan maxed out and could only drop it to 86C.
Same goes with prime95, its ment to torture your CPU, under normal usage your not going to see something maxing the CPU out like that.
Good Luck and hope all works out well for you. -
Hi, can i use my macbook air as a display for my PS3?
Hi,
I want to connect my PS3 to my macbook air as its display. Is it possible?
If it is. what cable do i need?It can actually be done, yes. You just need an application called "type2phone", which is available in the Mac App Store. Note that it does cost $5 (kinda steep for a novelty).

Lan connectivity Issue on autonomous AP with throttles
Hello,
I encounter a strange problem on several AP 1242 in version 12.4(25d)JA1 of a customer :
He has 10 autonomous AP covering a factory and is using them for laptop connectivity and TOIP with mainly 7921 Cisco Wifi Phones.
The phones are configured to use only 802.11a.
The APs loose LAN connectivity randomly and therefore the clients don't work anymore.
The AP are connected on a 2960 and a 3560 wich are in turn connected on a 3750 wich route the trafic.
After checking spanning-tree no loops are present.
When I check the counters on the AP involved I see the "trhottles" and "ignored" counters incrementing on the fa0 link of the AP impacted wich mean I think it can't handle the incoming traffic. This incoming traffic seems not to be too big however. I can see drops on the switch interface connecting the AP.
There is a lot of roaming on the AP due to people walking in the factory with their wifi phones.
Here is a view of the fa0 counters :

Does someone ever experienced a similar problem ?
When I shut radio interfaces they're is no more problems on the LAN. Can this be an overlapping coverage issue ?
Can someone please give me advices on how to troubleshoot this issue ?
Thank you in advance as I'm a bit stuck.
Best Regards,Hi Scott,
Thanks for your reply.
Do you think this can be the origin of the issue my customer encounters or is it only to be standard ? As this change will have to be made on all clients, if there is a chance it solves the problem I will do it ASAP, if not I will delay it in a less busy period :-)
Can the constant roaming associations and dissasociations overload the AP and make it stop responding on the LAN or is it only a throuhput problem ?
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Best Regards, -
I'm the bad guy... at least according to Verizon's throttling policy for the remaining "unlimited" (haha!) data customers utilizing 3G. And yes, it is throttling, "network optimization" doublespeak aside; a better term might be "bottom line optimization." I understand the desire to not end up in the same situation that ATT/Cingular did, whom I left for Verizon because their connectivity became atrocious. This action, however, is a step backward, disrecpectful of their most active users, and demonstrates a glaring lack of vision with regards to the ever-blossoming world of mobile data connectivity. I'm technically knowledgeable and understand that 10 million users all maxing out their connections 24/7 is unsustainable with existing architecture, I get it, but that's not what's happening. This action is nothing more than a means of forcing the remaining "unlimited" (again hah!) data users off of these grandfathered plans and onto the new tiered rate structure and ultimately is about $$$ and not equal opportunity bandwidth allocation. And if bandwidth is at that much of a premium, then it's Verizon's fault for not appropriately scaling up to accomodate the incredible increase in data users driven by it's own push towards smartphones for everyone and the adoption of the iphone; not the fault of users that use more data than the average person.
Verizon explains, as justification for this bandwidth throttling, that they are trying to protect the 95% of users who do not exceed 2gb/month by reigning in these "abusers" who use "inordinate" amounts of data because apparently Verizon's network is so weak that a mere 5% of its user base can completely ruin the experience of the other 95%. But wait, this does not apply to 4G customers or anyone that's on the tiered billing plan. So, if being an "abuser" and using "inordinate" amounts of data is OK as long as Verizon is making more money, then it's really not about bandwidth consumption is it, because those same heavy users are not being throttled... as long as Verizon makes more money. My friend has a 4G phone that NEVER gets 4G connectivity because 3G is the best we have in our rural state, he also upgraded to this phone just prior to the elimination of the "unlimited" plans. Yet he is not affected by the throttling. We are both just over 7gb for our current billing cycle, my phone has been throttled and is now essentially unusable for the very things that it is marketed for; I can send texts, emails, view basic website but any sort of streaming is now out of the question for the remainder of my billing cycle? Possible the next cycle as well? Even many websites load painfully slowly because most sites are pretty graphic intensive in this day and age. And so I am paying for a service that the service provider is now preventing me from utilizing as intended. My friend, at the same level of data usage on an unlimited plan, is unaffected.
Also, with regards to "network intelligence" not being "throttling" because it only, well, throttles in areas that are "congested" that's not accurate. I live in a low population bedroom town, a large percentage of which, I assure you, are not avid smartphone streamers and many of whom have landline broadband connections to their homes. I would often get 900kpbs upwards to 2mbps regularly when streaming and do so without interruption or pausing to buffer in most cases. Since my "throttling" the other day I cannot break 300kbps and anything I stream pauses every 60 seconds to buffer as I watch my bandwidth oscillate between 50kbps and, at a rare maximum, 300 kbps. This is not a congested area. I go to work in a more heavily-populated town, still 300 kpbs max. I take lunch and go into the city, the largest and most populated city in our state, still 300, actually popped up to 350 in what I would consider the most congested portion of our state. Where's the "network intelligence" Verizon?...
7gb! Wow, how can you possibly use that much data?!? Is it really that hard to comprehend how someone could easily tear through that much data? Utilizing the Netflix app alone, an app approved and available in the Market, this can be accomplished rather easily. A rough average on an hour episode of streaming media is, ballpark, around what 300mb? So, watching 7 one-hour episodes of a tv show streamed through Netflix would equate to around 2gb; you're now an "abuser" using "inordinate" amounts of data. "Inordinate" apparently equating to watching two 1-hour tv shows/week streamed through your phone. Given that the average American watches 5 hours of tv a day and spends even more time online, that usage estimate is actually conservative relative to the typical level of media consumption in the United States.
If Verizon wants to used a tiered billing system as everyone is now, that's their perogative, however modifying plans previously labeled as "unlimited" in order to correct for a forecasting mistake made by Verizon itself is unacceptable. Verizon, you should have allowed these plans to expire within their existing contract dates without meddling with individual users' bandwidth allocations; they would have all eventually gone away and you would have a lot fewer **bleep**-off customers. I repeat, I have a phone that is now essentially unusable for the majority of functions that it is marketed for because of an inentional restriction against me as a customer by Verizon... yet I am expected, of course, to continue paying for the very service they are essentially blocking me from using because, while Verizon can modify the terms of any contract they see fit, I certainly cannot. What if your cable provider, most of which utilize streaming video through digital cable boxes now, turned off your cable access for the rest of the month or only let you watch channels 1-10 because, sir, you've been watching far too much tv and it's preventing our other customers from viewing shows... mmhmm, that wouldn't upset any tv viewers now would it?
Verizon, of course, knows that other providers do this as well and that I, of course, want to continue my media consumption, and so they have the upper hand. I, like an increasing number of people, use my phone for everything. I have no cable, no cable broadband, no landline phone, my phone is my connection to the world, partly because that's how I prefer it, partly because I can't afford to pay several different companies for access to the same thing. I either fold and drop $300 on a new 4G phone and renew my contract with a tiered data plan and get financially raped and have to constantly stress about how much data I've used or I incurr a new monthly fee with, say, my cable provider to avoid having to pay out the nose to Verizon for access to the SAME content.
Rant aside, the bottom line is this: Verizon is lying. Let me say that again, Verizon is lying about the justification for this move. It's not about equal oppotunity bandwidth, it's about Verizon realizing they can increase their revenue stream... otherwise, wouldn't those tiered folks be getting throttled as well if they "abuse" and use "inordinate" amounts of data? Oh no, of course not, Verizon just bills them more. This scenario is as ridiculous as charging $20/month for text messaging, which, by the way, is also data.
Here's an idea Verizon. Why not take some of piles of money you're making by fleecing customers with "abusive," "inordinate" fees and upgrade your network to accomodate the very scenario that you as a company have been promoting, if that is in fact the real issue at the core of this. And maybe someone in your PR department will think really hard about demonizing your users in the future for using your product in the very manner it was intended and painting us as outside the law to the bulk of your client base. This little to do with heavy data users and everything to do with $$$ and possibly the inability of Verizon to meet the service needs of a exponentially growing smartphone market that it helped to encourage.
I have gone from highly recommending Verizon as a service provider to other folks to now being dissapointed and bitter from my experience. All of this, of course, occurred without any notification to me or any kind of notice either on my online account management or in my electronic bill, as they also apparently stated would occurr. More than likely this and the new tiered billing will lead to me seeking another form of connectivity and dropping my Verizon plan options to the absolute minimum across the board or switching phone providers simply because of how insultingly this has been framed, and I suspect I'm not alone... which results in less $$$ to Verizon. Good job, guys.Spot on _ BULLS EYE!! You aren't alone. I want to validate your rant. Verizon went out of their way to sell me the same $59.99 unlimited broadband 4 yrs ago and have now been hassling me and twisting my arm with every aggravating phone call I make to complain. I have had the throttling removed three times. This time they said we can't remove it but change your plan and you'll be at full speed immediately. I am sick and tired of the lying. They all can't even tell the same story. Just last week I was told by more than one employee that my device must be bad because they don't throttle.
Occupy Verizon would be good - How do you get these ****** to PAY - Are their any Attorneys out there - I know they originally sold THOUSANDS of those plans. I'm ******!!!!!!
A Corporation that tells lies and different stories from its employees has to be held Accountable - Financially
Give me back my $59.99 per month times 48 months and its still not enough for the hell they have put me through. My computer has been slowed to the point my mail center timed out and was unable to download important PDF Contracts. HELLO!!! Verizon - Thats money out of MY Bottom line. Get it? THX -
I have found a solution to all my Power Manager/CPU throttling problems!!! Though there is some good and bad news.
{EDIT: The problem has NOT been fixed, even after latest PowerManager (3.62) and BIOS (1.30) versions. Pretty much ignore anything I say below as the problem is still occurring. You can see my full post here: http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/W520-Speedstep-not-working-properly-on-battery-...}
Good news: I have NONE of the throttling issues or inconsistent CPU frequency problems I was having before on AC or battery power. Everything, including TurboBoost on battery works! It is completely fixed! (I have no idea how this factors into Lenovo’s statements that TurboBoost is disabled on battery “by design”. There is at least one other post from someone else that also reported TurboBoost was working for them on battery)
Bad news: I don’t really know which one of the many things I tried actually worked. I am sorry I wasn’t more methodical about recording what I did and checking results, but this was my last ditch effort to get this fixed on my own without sending the system in for repair and frankly, I didn’t think it would work. Now that it has worked, I’m hoping my steps can help others.
For anyone interested, here’s what I did… and before anyone says something like “That has nothing to do with managing power/cpu, why would that help?!… etc., please keep in mind I’m just stating exactly what I did. I am aware some of the steps may not be relevant, but who knows… We all know how weird PC’s are sometimes, even the smallest, oddest thing may resolve a problem. So anyway, here goes.
**IMPORTANT** Not sure how many noticed, but there was a new version of Power Manager released a few weeks ago, 3.62. The PM driver seems to have stayed the same. That alone could very well be the sole fix, I’m not sure. You may just want to completely remove PM and PM driver and install the latest version before trying any of the steps below.
1)Made a complete system image via Windows built-in backup feature
2)Disable any 3rd party fan/CPU control utilities (Throttlestop, etc). Make sure they are also not going to run at startup or from a scheduled task
3)Remove Power Manager Driver, then remove Power Manager software
4)Reboot to Windows
5)Remove all traces of the Power Manager drivers/software directories (think it was something like C:\readyapps and C:\drivers.) **For some odd reason after I did this, my wireless stopped working but it resolved itself by the time I was done with these steps, strange
6)Reboot
7)Access BIOS and reset all settings to default
8)Boot into Windows, downgrade to BIOS 1.25 [UEFI: 1.25 - 8BET44WW / ECP: 1.14 8AHT32WW ] via the Windows flash utility. I wanted to downgrade all the way back to 1.06, but the software would throw up some error for any version prior to 1.25 and wouldn’t proceed
9)Reboot to Windows; make sure system booted w/ out issues
10)Reboot again, access BIOS, reset to defaults again
11)Shut down system
12)Disconnect AC power. Remove main battery. Access and disconnect system backup (a.k.a CMOS) battery under keyboard. Discharge residual power in the system (there are various ways to do this, but you could just leave the battery disconnected for a few minutes). Visually inspect the system for anything funky…my system had a slightly but noticeably loose CPU/GPU heat sink/fan assembly power connector.
13)Reconnect backup battery.
14)Reconnect AC power but leave main battery disconnected.
15)Power on. Should get a message indicating “checksum error, system time reset” or something like that.
16)Reboot to Windows. Verified still okay.
17)Downloaded latest BIOS version, 1.26. This time I burned the bootable BIOS flash CD instead of running it through Windows.
18)Restart and boot from disc, flash BIOS to 1.26. Once complete, restart. Verify BIOS set to defaults.
19)Boot back into Windows.
20)Install latest Power Manager driver (1.62 ), reboot if/as prompted. Install Power Manager (3.62), reboot as prompted.
21)Boot into Windows, verified Power Manager was active and working. Verified TurboBoost was working. Restarted system a few times and played around with Power Manager for a bit to see if the different power plans worked and retained the settings, all the while monitoring the Intel TurboBoost utility and PM’s own “power gauges”. Let system Sleep, changed power sources, resumed, etc. Everything was working great.
22)Shutdown, reconnect main battery. Booted into Windows. Again, fiddled with Power Manager for a bit, switching between power plans and AC/battery power. Still worked great.
23)Success!
That’s it. Again, this is not a guaranteed fix guide. These are just simply the steps that I took on my system that resolved the problems many of us are having. Hopefully it will work for others.

(Chipset driver) http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/oss924ww.exe
(PM driver) http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/83ku14ww.exe
Now, I did chipset first (didnt ask to reboot) then installed the PM driver (did ask to reboot)
I rebooted.... then I went into bios (1.26) and set everything to default... then restarted saving changes...
Since I prefer not using optimus I changed the display settings in bios right after saving the default settings...
Not sure whether or not you really had to go into bios... but everything seems to be working...
My settings in PM is set to Maximum Power in the Advanced tab, 3rd party monitoring tools is TPFanControl and HWInfo64....

How to connect my ps3 via thunderbolt to my imac 27'late 2012?
I have a new imac an old ps3 and will buy the new ps4 once available.
Is anyone aware comcerning a solution to connect these devices?
I need a solution video in (thunderbolt) to video out (hdmi) would prefer of course if sound would go the same way.
ThanksYou would need a display port to HDMI adapter. One of the newer features (which the 2012 iMac has) is that it can display this type of content like a DVD player to the iMac.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/TY600VC/A/griffin-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-wit h-audio-dvi
Use the above link to review that item. It also has a DVI adapter that you would not use. But the display port to HDMI is the correct item. Then you connect the PS3 to the hdmi on it. I don't think it would passthrough audio though so you would have to figure something out for sound. -
How to connect my PS3 to my iMac (Late 2012)
Hello every one, I have a question. Can I connect my PS3 to my late 2012 iMac with 27 inch over HDMI?
I looked in the internet but I only found such Adapters, for the older iMac's.
If I can do this, please let me know what I need and where I could get this Adapter or Device.
Thank You.You would need a display port to HDMI adapter. One of the newer features (which the 2012 iMac has) is that it can display this type of content like a DVD player to the iMac.

I had bought two Network Drives so I could watch my own movies anywhere in my house and clear up the clutter of all the DVDs, Blurays and CDs, Works greate with the PS3, Bought the Apple TV version 3 because it was smaller and resently bought the IPAD 3 and have the IPHONE 4S and other apple products.
My wish is to access my Network drives with the Apple TV - I have herd of Jailbreaking it (Not Avalible from where I can tell for the Version3) - but why didn't Apple ever think of accessing a Network drive and is their a work around for this? Should I just shutup and wait till Jail Breaking is avalible for the Version 3?.
Thank you for any helplongbeachjoe wrote:

I'm sure they did think of it, but quickly discarded the idea because of the horrendous user experience this causes. -
How to connect a PS3 to BT Openzone or Bt FON
I thought I would post this information as it has taken me all morning, a lot of phone calls and reading on google to sort this out!!
Problem I had: I want to take my PS3 to my parents house when visiting and they dont have any access to the internet. I am a total broadband customer and have access to BT FON & Openzone.
I called BT directly and they said they didnt support it so I nearly gave up however I have now found out exactly how to connect!!
Go to Network settings on PS3
Go to - Internet connection settings
Choose - Custom
Choose - Wireless
Choose - Scan
Pick whichever has highest signal strength - either BT FON or BT Openzone
SSID should come up with BtOpenzone (leave it as it is!)
WLAN settings - choose none
IP address - auto
DHCP host - do not set
DNS - Automatic
MTU - automatic
Proxy server - do not use
UPNP - enable
Press x to save settings
At this point it will test connection and show the IP address has been found but the internet connection failed, this is fine. Come out of settings and go to your internet browser on PS3
Once you launch the browser you get the BT openzone log in page, enter your details if you are a customer or buy the package / whichever is your preference.
Once you have logged in you can then close the browser and launch an online game!
I played Black Ops on BT Openzone at signal strength 100%, it was perfect and I had no problems at all!
I hope this helps!!!Hi, BTOPENZONE is my normal wireless network. I only have openzone and pay monthly for it!
Has anyone found a solution to the problem mentioned above with regards to the PS3 not obtaining an IP adrress from the OPENZONE access point? I alled th openzone helpline last night and am no further on today!
Please can someone help me!! -
Can i use a mini display port on hdmi cabel to connect a ps3 or something??
the hdmi connector of the ps3 or a sat reciever is an output and on the 27" imac the minidisplayport is an input/output , so my question is, can i connect my ps3 or my sat reciever to my imac with a hdmi on minidisplayport cabel to watch tv or play ps3 .
if it does'nt work, how can i do this , or can i do this ??
thanks benedictfromickingNope; at least not that I've found. There are only a couple of companies selling such a converter (they probably all come from the same manufacturer) and they're all pricing it exactly the same.

Anyone ever try recording from PS3 to Mac using EyeTVHD ?
Hello,
I am connecting my PS3 with a multi AV cable to the back of my PS3 and connecting the blue green red cables to the EyeTVHD but I always get a NO SIGNAL message on the Mac.
Has anyone tried this and got it to work?
Is it possible to record games, regular dvds, and bluray using this setup ?
Which are possible and which are not ?
I can record from my regular dvd player ( but picture only - no sound )
The back of the dvd player has a digital video out but I believe EyeTVHD only accepts analog input. So not sure how to get sound if that is the case.
If anyone can help with the PS3 connections or the dvd player sound - much thanks.
Is the only way to record bluray to purchase a bluray writer and would the bluray writer work with the PS3 using EYETVHD with the Mac - man it's really getting confusing now.
thanks if anyone can lead me out of the wilderness hereI am connecting my PS3 with a multi AV cable to the back of my PS3 and connecting the blue green red cables to the EyeTVHD but I always get a NO SIGNAL message on the Mac.
That's probably because, as you describe your setup, nothing is connected to the Mac. -
When trying to play my finished Blu-ray disc on PS3 the menus display and work good. However, when I choose a selection to play the movie it returns back to the main menu. It doesn't matter if I choose the main play button or one of the chapters on the scene selection menu, it does not play the movie but rather returns to the main menu. Menus appear to be working fine!
I've used Encore for years and I'm pretty familiar with the ins and outs of creating DVD's. I'm a little new at creating Blu-rays but have found the process very similar to creating DVDs with the addition of being able to add Popup menus. I pretty much followed the same process as a Blu-ray I created a couple months ago which worked fine. So I'm pretty much at a lose how to trouble shoot this issue. The only thing that has changed is that I've upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite but I really don't know if that is a factor or not. Encore did not run into any issues while working on the project.
Everything works when previewing my project in Encore. All the menus and buttons work and the movie plays fine. Also, no errors are reported after running the Check Project process on the Build tab.
I usually create an ISO file to burn from later. Encore created the ISO file and reported success.
I'm running Adobe CS6 on a Mac with Yosemite. FCPX was used to output the AC3 audio file and 264 video file. Menu transitions are ProRes422.
So far while trouble shooting I've made 3 coasters.
1st disc was created using Yosemite Disk Utility to burn the ISO file created by Encore (my usual way).
2nd, and 3rd disc I let Encore burn directly from the project.
3rd disk I removed the PopUp menu as I've only done one in the past and figured I would try that as a trouble shooting step.
So, since everything appears fine Encore I'm really not sure how to trouble shoot this. I wish Apple would support Blu-ray better so I could just open the ISO file in DVD Player like I do when I create DVD ISOs. So much easier than having to trouble shoot by creating coasters.
If anyone has come across this issue before and has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I'd like to complete this project and move on.
Thanks in advance!Well, at this point I'm thinking maybe something is wrong with the movie files output from FCPX even though they play fine in Encore. I noticed that there is a one frame difference between the video and audio file. The video file is 00:38:45:01 and the audio file is 00:38:45:02. I already output the file using Compressor. However, I'm still seeing the exact same time difference between the video and audio file when imported back into Encore. I'm going to rebuild the Encore project from scratch using the movie files output from Compressor and try again. If that doesn't work I'll use 7toX to convert FCPX XML and try importing the XML into Premier Pro and output the movie files that way for Encore. Or, output a master file from FCPX and let Encore do the transcoding.

Hello all,
I'm having a strange problem with the internet sharing in general... but basically I have to restart the internet sharing to allow my PS3 to connect.
My building has a wifi access point that I connect to via my macbook internal airport - works like a charm. I can share that connection with the Ethernet (and hence PS3).. but after each time I restart my macbook, I also have to restart internet sharing... otherwise the PS3 wont connect. As soon as I restart internet sharing all is well.
Any solutions or ideas would be great.
Cheers.Hi,
I'm having real trouble hooking up my PS3 in the way that you mention as my Ps3 won't seem to get the connection through my macbook. How did you set up the IP numbers to get it right?
best regards

Setting up PS3 to work through Airport Extreme
I've checked various message boards and many seem to have this problem but I can't find a clear solution. I have a new PS3, it locations my Airport Extreme network, which uses a WEP password, but when I type in my password it won't accept it. I don't know how to convert my simple password to the ASCII or Hex password it seems to need, and I'm not sure how to reset my Airport so as to start all over. Has anyone else successfully configured their PS3 to Airport Extreme and have any advice for me?

Launch AirPort Utility, double-click on your AirPort Extreme in the left column, then pull down the "Base Station" menu and select "Equivalent Network Password".

Export RAW-files and its thumbnails from iPhoto
Hi all, My Canon EOS 5D makes JPEG+RAW at the same time, which is great. Normally I do not need the RAW files, I work with JPEG in iPhoto 6 (OS X 10.4.11). I only want to keep the RAW-files as "negative". With Automator I want to export the RAW-files

Finder Feature gone missing.
it used to be that when you command select 2 or more folders in the list view, clicking on the triangle to 'open' the folders would open all those which were selected. This is not the case anymore !!
