PS3mediaServer on Arch - Cant stream video!
I have PMS folder is in /opt/PMS
When I start the program by being in the directory /opt/PMS and write sh PMS.sh or ./PMS.sh everything works perfectly and I can stream video to my ps3.
But if I start the program by being in /home and type sh /opt/PMS/PMS.sh the program also start fine, but I get errors when I stream video. My tsMuxer is set to execute..
And get the same error in the automatic start of sessions...
What I want is that the program starts automatically and I can stream movies from all folders. All my movies are in 4 different NTFS disks.
Hope there is someone who can help
Is this on Linux? Any reason why you want the streaming to be done on Linux? I don't know how much of a hit NTFS reading takes on Linux, but keep in mind it still is run through fuse - so it's not like you're gonna get the performance of a native Linux FS. I know it does not matter much as long as it's XviD/DivX, but with stuff like x264 (which can be contained in MP4, and which the PS3 can understand)...
It would be handy if you could post some of the errors you get. Just describing them makes them pretty hard to solve - and to google .
As for launching it: check some of the files in /etc/rc.d/, you can get an idea how it works and use one of those to base your own service script on, that you can add to the DAEMONS array if it works (try and test it first).
As for a media server, I use mediatomb myself to stream to my PS3. Never had a single problem with it. It has a PKGBUILD in AUR afaik, and it runs clean - even better: it has a service .

Yoga 3 pro cant stream video on external display or laptop
Saw a previous post on this, didnt seem like it was fixed. Having real issues with hooking up to an external display, when the web browser (chrome) is extended to the external display, my internet lags hard...i cant even stream a vid on youtube.
I've disabled realtek (fixed cracking speakers) tried a completely new cord set up from micro hdmi to dvi...nothing works. When i drag the browser window back to the laptop screen, it works fine.
Ok, 5 min follow up: it seems im now having the similar issue with streaming video on my laptop screen....sound streams fine, the video seems to shake back and forth very quickly, runs, then shakes again...seems to only happen intermittenltly on the laptop...but display shows real lag and shake.

Go to Solution.Have you tried changing the screen resolution on the Yoga to something lower than what it is set on? A 1080i screen has a resolution of 1,920 × 1,080, my Yoga 3 Pro has a default resolution of 3200 x 1800. I have not tried connecting my Y3P to the TV yet, but the conversion could be causing an issue.

Cant Stream video from NBC, ABC, etc
I have not been able to stream video from sites that stream via quicktime like NBC, ABC, etc. All other fellow iphine users at work can access them but not me. we have the same sw version, but I have the edge network, not 3G. I have also not been able to view quicktime streams on my local wifi. what gives?
Have you tried:
1. Reset (hold the sleep/wake & home button until the Apple logo appears)
2. Emptying the cache/cookies in Safari Settings
3. Restore in iTunes
4. making an appointment at the Genius Bar for help -
Cant stream video sound from ITunes to stereo via Airport Express
I'm using a PC with wireless (Centrino 802.11g) with Itunes (Latest release 7.0.0.70) and for some reason the sound from Itunes video will not stream wirelessly to my stereo connected to my AirPort Express.
When the video is embedded in an Itunes playlist of MP3s, the sound will work fine through the AirPort Express with the MP3 tracks, but will toggle over to the PC speakers for the video.
Any ideas gratefully received?Airtunes actually only support MP3/AAC audio streaming from iTunes. That's too bad for video.
The things is, even with other Airtunes streaming software, the streaming delay is such that the song will be off by a few second from the video. I guess Apple have choose to do not stream video sound until this may be resolve.
Therefore, I'm not aware of any solution to this issue. -

Several thoughts (WAGs, actually).
I wonder if that's a characteristic of iPlayer (I don't use it) in that it won't play until the entire video downloads. Does this happen with other apps?
This may be the Reset that you've already done but I want to be certain. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes." -

how come i can watch you tube but cant stream videos on web sites?
Videos require a plug-in that isn't included with with Safari browser. The iPod Touch can only watch QuickTime embed videos (go to http://www.apple.com/itunes and scroll down to the bottom, you can watch the "Now Playing" section).

I cant stream HD video using Airplay
I cant stream HD videos using airplay and a specific iphone app that used to work properly before (Globo.tv).
HD videos from Youtube app work fine. Any idea on what is going on?
All softwares are updated to the latest version, wifi is fine, router is an Airport Extreme fully updated.
My iPhone is a 5S and the Apple TV is the latest one.
Mirrowing the app using the iPad and playing the Globo.tv app works fine with airplay, but i cant see the video full screen.

Well, I tried removing and reinstalling the app. Nothing happened.
But yesterday i realized something: the Globo.tv is an app that provides some unprotected videos and lots of protected. To wach it you must have an account with them. Well, I do. And used to wach all videos with no problems. Well, I realized that at some "point" I now can only Air Play "opened" videos. All others protected with login process, does not work.
How login works: I need to login at the app once. Then I can wach any video I want.
Any idea what is going on?
Another info: I can start waching the video and then click Air Play. It won´t work. If i do the same with an unprotected video, it works fine.

How can i stream video from Safari my MacBook Air to Apple TV.
I've been tryingt o stream videos from my Mac Book Air to Apple TV that is connected to my projector but dont seem to see any options in safari to stream to Apple TV. Have anyone tried this? Is this possible? My IPad can do it but dont understand why Mac Book cant. Please assist!
I Figured it out! I put the Display chooser into the toolbar on the MacBook Air and there is a little selection that allows Mirroring. I switched it on, got video, sound, and a happy man on my hands. AND I found the correct answer myself, heh, heh, heh.

Why Flash crashes when I stream video of my webcam?
Hi, I have a Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 and everytime I enter in a flash chat (like justin.tv) and try to send video of my webcam, it starts to stream video and then it crashes in about 5 seconds.
I've searched a lot at google for a solution, but i haven't found anything that works. And this only happens in Linux.

What may be wrong? My webcam works fine with applications like xawtv, i can even record video. The problem is with flash plugin. Every time I try to send my video it crashes after 5 seconds. o_O

I got it fixed by using Opera browser...but still isn't working with Chrome or IE. -

Hi all,
After recently implementing Lync in our environment, i was asked a question by one of the users.
"Why cant Lync stream video files during conferences like Webex"
I researched a lot, even tried to embed files in powerpoint but there are a lot of restrictions and limitations and so on...
On the other hand, alternative solutions like webex and PGI are very much capable of providing this feature. which brings me to this discussion:
"REPLY TO THIS POST TO LET MICROSOFT KNOW THIS FEATURE IS IMPORTANT AND THAT THEY SHOULD ADDRESS IT IN THEIR NEXT RELEASE"

Full screen on streaming videos
I cannot view full screen of any streaming videos. Like when
I go to youtube and click full screen, the screen goes all black.
Its going full screen, but the actual PICTURE is not coming. I've
already tried reinstalling Flash player...its not only with
youtube, but google videos, veoh, todou, and all of the other
websites. Offline, I can go full screen no problem. Help would be

My mac mini sudenly frozed and won't boot in again.
